I Became a Genius Law School Student Episode 114

“Wow this was a big hit. really.”

I was just packing my bags after the contest ended. Kwon Sol-hwi approached me with a bitter smile and spoke to me.

“I learned a lot. “It was a solution I was quite confident in but there is a sky above the sky.”

The true value of the competition may be that this experience prevents you from becoming a frog in the well. Kwon Sol-hwi added that and smiled cheerfully.

“It was a good experience for me too. “I can compete with an outstanding opponent like Sol-Hwi Kwon.”

    “haha. “It’s an honor.”

How long has it been since you last had such a heart-warming conversation with your opponent?

“Oh do you have any plans right after this?”

“Not really. “As the finals are tomorrow I and my teammates were planning to get enough rest and take care of our condition today.”

    “It just worked out well.”

Sol-Hwi Kwon suggested with shining eyes.

“If it’s okay with you why don’t you have a quick chat with my team members over dinner? “Everyone was so impressed with the skills of the Hankook University Law School team that they wanted to talk to us.”

    Then he quietly added:

“There is something else I want to give you.”

It wasn’t a bad story. I had to eat anyway and like I said I was planning on resting.

If you make a name for yourself with talented people at the level of the Cheonmadae National Team you will not suffer any losses in the narrow legal field later on.

‘But what do you want to give?’

I suddenly became curious but it was something I had to go and ask in person.

    “So what?”

I asked for agreement from two team members.

“I’m thinking of going. “What about you?”

“prong. “I also want to ask you about preparations for the law clerk.”

“somnolence. “I’m going to go to sleep after analyzing text data.”

So Lee Ha-ru went to bed and Han Seol-man and I went to the courthouse cafeteria and joined the Cheonmadae Law School team.

“This is Park Yoo-seung of Korea University. “You all know my face from before right?”

“It’s a cold theory. i look forward to.”

When we first said hello Sol-Hwi Kwon introduced the team members.

“This is our team member Choi Yun-jeong and Kang Min-gyu. “In particular Min-gyu was so angry that he wanted to talk to Park Yoo-seung.”

“Oh brother. “What if you say that to my face?”

The skinny young man scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.

“This is Kang Min-gyu. Actually I am also an aspiring prosecutor so I was very impressed after seeing Park Yoo-seung’s defense. “If you ask me how I usually study…”

“Excuse me Mingyu oppa. “What kind of etiquette is it to ask about study methods in the first meeting?”

A woman with tied hair and round glasses cut off Kang Min-gyu’s words. Introducing herself as Choi Yun-jeong she bowed her head.

“This is Choi Yun-jeong. “Mingyu oppa is a little too enthusiastic about studying but it doesn’t mean he has any bad intentions so please understand.”

“How rude. Rather I am glad that it is an opportunity to share opinions.”

Of course I waved my hand. If nothing else getting excited about studying was something I also wanted.

‘People who spend all day with their heads buried in law books gather together so what else is there to talk about?’

Other topics may come up for just one or two words but in the end when law school students gather together the conversation somehow turns toward studying.

    That’s actually what happened.

“yes? “You took that test during free play?”

Kwon Sol-hwi opened his mouth. This was the reaction that came when I told the story of the second evaluation in Free.

“It is truly unconventional in many ways whether it should be called a law school at Korea University….”

“They say this is the method we tried for the first time this year.”

If it weren’t for Jang Yong-hwan’s whim we would have taken an ordinary test.

Han Seol suddenly asked as if he was curious.

“How did you do on the exam during your free time at Cheonmadae?”

“What are we? “It was ordinary.”

    Kwon Sol-hee waved his hand.

“I just took the test using the full range of citizen-type cases.”

    “I don’t think that’s normal either….”

    Han Seol smiled bitterly.

Actually that was the correct response. Do you mean that students who are just entering school are taking a full range of case-based tests just because they know what they know?

In general it would have been fortunate if the national anthem was not written on the answer sheet.

‘Is it possible because it’s Cheonmadae?’

This is a place where the majority of new students come in already equipped with considerable test preparation skills. That was Cheonmadae Law School.

Since the experience level of solving case-type problems and writing answers was different it would not have been unreasonable to take the test like that.

“In fact students are divided into classes based on the documents submitted during the entrance exam and the scores of the free exam. “Both those with test-taking experience and those with no experience.”

This is not a measure to discriminate. It’s all for efficiency.

It is a waste of time to re-teach an experienced person from the basic level. On the other hand those who are learning law for the first time need education tailored to their level.

The speed and depth of the curriculum need to be set differently.

    “It’s systematic.”

“We are a law school attached to a local private university. “In order to achieve results good systematic management is required.”

    ‘indeed.’

I was impressed because I thought there must be a reason for the higher passing rate for the bar exam and higher public service output than most law schools in the Seoul area.

Other than that various other things were talked about. School atmosphere and culture professors’ teaching methods. Recommended test books online lectures etc.

“Oh but civil law is Yoon Dohan.”

“Uhm. Is that so? “Jeong Yeon-sook was a better fit for me.”

“I also vote for Jeong Yeon-sook. The textbook has minimal descriptions and focuses on precedents making it easy to read quickly. “What does Seol know?”

“Oh Yunjeong too? “We kind of get along.”

Before we knew it Hanseol was having a friendly conversation with the Cheonmadae team even talking about words. Indeed it was the friendliness of someone who had been at the center of the department since undergraduate school.

The people who were in the middle of talking about the instructor and the textbook suddenly turned their attention to me.

“Which faction is Mr. Park Yu-seung? Dohan Yoon? Jeong Yeon-sook? “Is it possible that he is Son Yeong-kwon according to the minor theory?”

Kang Min-gyu’s eyes sparkled. From the beginning he showed a strong interest in my study method. But unfortunately I had no choice but to give an answer that betrayed Kang Min-gyu’s answer.

    “I’m not listening.”

    “…yes?”

“I don’t take separate lectures. “It is a caution that it is better to read and write on your own one more time during the time you listen to others.”

Everyone in the Cheonmadae looked at me with an angry expression.

    “No really?”

“But you have to take a lecture to read the test book right? “They intentionally write it so that you don’t understand it until you hear it explained.”

“Park Yoo-seung what did you write in your exam paper?”

“We use the knot of civil law. “Yoon Dohan.”

    “…How is that possible?”

Question marks floated over the faces of the three Cheonmadae members who heard my answer.

“Wasn’t The Knot of Civil Law not a book written for understanding but for people who already have a systematic understanding to repeatedly master?…”

“Mingyu oppa also said it was difficult at first. “Even though I studied the basics of civil law while getting a job as a labor attorney.”

    “that’s right. So I just took a new course…”

‘That’s because I passed the bar exam.’

No matter how long ago it was didn’t I have the experience of achieving a brilliant achievement?

Even the test book I saw at that time was the book that became Minmae’s motif. When I first opened Minmae I couldn’t tell you how happy I was because the structure and narrative style were exactly the same.

Numerous revisions and content additions were made to reflect the passage of time.

But no matter what it was bound to be different from people who were sight-readers.

Of course I couldn’t tell it straight away so I explained it in a different way.

“If you compare it with the professor supplement the missing context mark the parts that were previously written and adjust the strength and weakness you will be able to read it again quickly. “It’s not difficult.”

This wasn’t a lie either. In my previous life I studied that way because I didn’t have money to attend lectures and I used the same method during my rehabilitation training in this life.

It was an explanation full of truth except that it completely omitted the fact that he was possessed.

    “Hey this is it.”

Kang Min-gyu stuck out his tongue.

“All I can say is that it’s fascinating. Originally it was a question of whether or not I would have to accumulate time for several years… Park Yu-seung you said you first started studying last winter right?”

    “I can guarantee that.”

    Hanseol added.

“He acts so polite now but back when he was in college…”

“Uh huh. “I was a different person than I was back then.”

    “Okay okay. Hehehe.”

That’s not a metaphor that’s really a different person from me. Original by Park Yu-seung.

I don’t know how much trouble he went through to wash away the notoriety he had built up.

When I looked back on last semester I couldn’t help but cry. Hanseol saw this and smiled as if it was fun. You wait and see.

“I was wondering if I could catch up if I knew how to study. “In fact I only felt the barrier to talent.”

    Kang Min-gyu sighed deeply.

“What are the people who made it to the semifinals of the legal argument competition saying? “It’s a position you can’t get to even with a decent level of skill.”

“Even if the person who beat us and went to the finals said that…”

“I will work hard to fulfill my role in Cheonmadae.”

    “Aaaah. “It’s a deception. It’s a deception.”

The meal ended in a pleasant atmosphere.

It was also a useful time. In particular exchanging information about preparing for public office was very helpful.

The Cheonmadae Law School team secretly passed on various information provided by the school to us and we returned the favor by extracting some key know-how from the materials provided by Bang Seung-il.

When I came out of the restaurant the sky was already dark. I was chatting so much that I lost track of time but it seemed like I had been there for quite some time.

    “Oh right.”

As I was about to leave Kwon Sol-hwi suddenly held out something to me.

“I almost forgot to give it to you earlier.”

    “This?”

“Originally we made it so that we could win and go up but since it ended up like this I think it would be right to give it to Park Yoo-seung.”

The object was actually a USB.

“This is a video of the Yonhee University Law School team’s finals 2 and 3rd round competition. If you open it you will also find a strategy memo in which we briefly analyze your strengths weaknesses and habits.”

    ‘oh.’

In the finals we have to compete with the Yonhee University Law School team.

Of course I obtained recordings or watched the first round of the preliminaries and finals but I couldn’t watch the later games because their competition times overlapped with ours.

However I got my hands on recordings of competitions I had not seen. Plus the notes analyzed by these smart guys. It was a very timely and helpful material.

    “thank you.”

“We should be thankful. “I don’t know how much I learned today.”

After saying our final goodbyes we parted ways with them and returned to our lodgings. I have to take care of my condition so I don’t plan on doing that much today.

    “What?”

I sat down at my desk and plugged the USB into my laptop.

I watched the competition video and compared my thoughts with the notes written by the Cheonmadae team.

Before going to bed I just look over the evidence and investigation parts of the Criminal Procedure Act one more time.

At the same time I am checking to see what parts of criminal law are left that have not been included in the finals so far.

It’s really no big deal. All it takes is a little bit.

It’s really just a little bit.

    Just a little more.

    just a little….

    “ah.”

Suddenly I looked at the clock and saw that the hour hand was pointing to the number 2. A sigh came naturally. Even though my concentration was so good it was a shame that I didn’t notice until dawn.

It’s not my fault. It is wrong that the preparation for competitions in the field of law is so interesting.

It’s new and enjoyable every time I see it like this so how can I stop halfway?

I was tired of going to bed early anyway. In addition I couldn’t sleep well probably because I was exposed to a lot of electromagnetic waves while looking at my laptop screen.

I changed into my training clothes and went outside wondering if I should go for a light run.

    “uh.”

And then I encountered an unexpected person.
