    Hanghasa Labyrinth (4)

    “I found it.”

Lennok who had been concentrating quietly with his eyes closed immediately stood up.

“I heard you were too relaxed even though you were being chased by the knights and there was a part of me that believed you.”

    “Did you find Jaun?”

“The location changed as if it disappeared at the end of the hallway. “He must know about the hidden passage in the labyrinth.”

Lennok’s eyes lit up as he rubbed the tobacco in his mouth against the wall.

“If the knights retreat without finding any trace let’s follow them right away.”

“What are you going to do with the vision you saw?”

“It’s not too late to check where Jaun is heading. Heading to the secret passage at this point was no doubt a ploy to get through the first gate quickly. “Let’s follow him for now.”

“Well no matter what happens passing through the gate is the priority….”

Evelyn was immediately convinced by Lennok’s suggestion and began moving down the hallway.

A split-second moment when Jaun was distracted by the knights. Lennok succeeded in attaching the magician previously installed in the cavity to Jaun’s back.

It was a measure to check competitors who arrived late but even Lennok did not expect that it would be used in this way.

‘It was worth memorizing his magical power pattern…’

If it’s simply a trace of Lennok’s magic there’s no way Jaun who has reached level 7 won’t notice.

Because Jaun’s magic pattern was copied and pasted he was able to deceive Jaun’s senses and catch his tail in this labyrinth where his magic sense was disturbed.

Lennok and Evelyn immediately followed the knights’ path and secretly moved to the location where Jaune last disappeared.

Evelin put her hand on the wall and slightly shook her head.

“There is no trace of dust or frictional heat. “If I had passed by without knowing I wouldn’t have noticed at all.”

“There are barely any traces of magical power left.”

Lennok said and slowly placed his hand on the wall.

    “But that’s enough.”

Immediately after that Lennok’s left eye rotates with purple light visualizing a realm of countless possibilities.

    Wow!!

Others might have thought it was simply magic scattered by Zaun as he moved but Lennok who knew the truth saw something a bit different.

Through the remnants of magic left behind by Jaun the direction and pattern of the traces drawn on the wall can be inferred and copied.

The magic power that rotated in Lennok’s hand rotated in the same way as Zaun’s opening a hidden passageway.

    Coo coo coo!!

Evelyn’s mouth opened slightly and Lennok’s gaze sank low as she discovered the stairs extending endlessly upward inside the wall.

    “….”

    “let’s go.”

What is Jindun’s purpose in creating a huge labyrinth in this northern snowy canyon?

For what reason did they ignore the people who came and went in seclusion without moving within this gigantic labyrinth for hundreds of years?

This labyrinth is vast and complex to the point of being excessively large and complex but on the other hand it is not that exclusive.

If Jindun’s purpose has not changed could it be that the existence of the Hanghasa Labyrinth itself is a tool to challenge ascension?

    The answer is unknown.

There is only one way to reach the end of this labyrinth and see the whole truth with your own eyes.

Both Lennok and Evelyn knew that at the current breakthrough speed that moment would not be far away.

“Huh… Now shall we take a break for a moment?”

    “….”

Of course this was without considering Lennok’s poor physical strength.

    * * *

    “Whoa…!!”

Lennoc who barely made it to the top of the stairs while holding on to his shaking legs let out a deep sigh.

    “You did it….”

A voice that conveys a proud sense of accomplishment without even trying to show it.

Evelyn who followed behind shook her head with an expression of bewilderment.

“That’s why I said I’d carry him up.”

Even though she walked up thousands of stairs Evelyn didn’t break a sweat.

His complexion was completely opposite to that of Lennok who was out of breath and sweating profusely.

Level 7 saint level physical ability. For Evelyn who has already surpassed her limits running down the stairs with just Lennok on her back would be no problem.

However even though Lennok clearly knew about the offer he firmly rejected it.

“We’re on Jaune’s heels. “It was necessary to hide any magical power or traces as much as possible and prepare for any unexpected situation.”

There is a reason why no tobacco is bloomed and floating magic is not used.

If Evelyn is carrying Lennok it will be slow to respond to unexpected situations.

If by any chance Jaun noticed that they were following and launched a surprise attack one of the two would have to be able to deal with it immediately.

As a result of various circumstances and thoughts coming together Lennok took on a considerable risk for himself by walking up the distant stairs with his bare mind.

“Actually isn’t it just because you’re embarrassed?”

    “….”

Lennok did not respond to Evelyn’s mischievous laughter but slightly looked away.

Instead he got her attention by pointing in the direction she turned her head.

“Look at that. “After coming up I can understand why the stairs were so long.”

    “That’s….”

A narrow passageway visible at the end of the stairs. It is a passage so small that one person can barely pass through.

A wide boulevard is revealed dozens of meters below the passage.

Among all the paths I have seen in this labyrinth this is by far the most expansive and magnificent.

And at the end of the street there was a huge gate that could easily accommodate ten people at once.

“Do those who broke through the labyrinth and gathered here have to pass through the gate to enter there… In comparison this side…?”

If you go up the stairs you can go beyond the gate through the passage.

A shortcut that allows you to enter the inside of the labyrinth without going through the gateway.

Realizing the meaning Lennok and Evelyn quickly exchanged glances.

“Where did Jaun get this information?”

“…It doesn’t make sense that Jindun doesn’t know the existence of this shortcut. “I can only assume that they probably borrowed the help of an acquaintance of the ascendant or someone who helped design the labyrinth.”

Lennok answered as he glanced down at the scenery below the gateway.

“In the worst case you may have already received Jin Dun’s permission.”

“In the end the only way is for us to hold back and check until the end.”

    “Look lower than that.”

As soon as Evelyn finished speaking Lennok raised his finger.

“It seems like other people are slowly flocking here.”

More than a dozen holes on both sides of the street. People appear one by one from all over the passage.

In an instant more than a dozen people entering the labyrinth appeared from all over the main street confirmed each other’s presence and slowly widened the distance.

    “…That?”

Naturally people’s eyes turned to the two stone statues standing on either side of the huge gateway.

Two warriors face each other and aim their weapons.

At its feet were ten keys each emitting different lights.

Those who noticed that the light of the key was the same as the eye light emitted by the statues on both sides immediately moved.

    Charak!!

“Is this the first gate of the labyrinth created by the greatest barrier master on the continent? It looks like you can enter by inserting the key into the gate.”

    “Hey put that down.”

Those who arrived late showed their teeth at the superhumans who picked up the key first.

“If you want grab the key on the other side… It already worked.”

Only then did the superhumans realize the meaning of the first gate and let out a laugh.

Shouldn’t it be enough to fight on behalf of two different statues and not be stolen by those who don’t have the key?

A structure that cannot be avoided even though the intention is clearly guessed.

However among those who entered this labyrinth none of them wanted to give up at the first hurdle.

Additionally the space in front of this gateway is as vast as a battlefield that was intentionally created.

It didn’t take long for a battle to break out.

    “The Ascendant’s legacy is ours!”

“How dare these unqualified people…!! “We have been living in the North Continent for over several decades!!”

    Kwaaaang!!

Lennok looked down expressionlessly at the people who immediately became entangled with each other and began a fierce battle.

“It’s better. “While they are wasting time here let’s go first…”

    “wait for a sec.”

As Lennok said that and was about to crawl into the passage Evelyn grabbed him by the end of his coat.

    […!?!?]

Dabi who was sleeping comfortably inside was rubbing his head here and there causing the fox cub to wake up with a start.

While Lennok frowned at the commotion inside the court Evelyn pointed to the back of the main street.

“It’s the watchers. “I think I arrived a little late.”

    “….”

As she said the faces of some of the observers she encountered in the conference room are visible.

Some of the dogs quickly grasp the situation and engage in battle to steal the key while others keep their distance and wait for an opportunity.

“Wouldn’t it be nice to help?”

“I know what you’re thinking but it seems difficult.”

I know that Evelyn’s offer is not simply out of sympathy or baseless camaraderie.

In the end what is important is for any of the Blue Eye watchers to break through the labyrinth and confirm Jin Dun’s life or death.

In that case it would be reasonable to let as many of the same observers into the labyrinth as possible.

“Right now we are completely hiding our magic power so if we support our troops with sniping our location will be discovered right away. Then the merit of following in Jaun’s footsteps will disappear.”

“So as long as your location isn’t revealed it doesn’t matter if I help you?”

    “what?”

As Evelyn said that she lightly stroked the upper left forearm.

    Teeing!!

The bow of the shortbow protruded from the top of her suit and she inserted the arrow shaft between them and pulled the bowstring.

    Let’s go…!!

At the same time as the tip of the arrow pulled onto the forearm is slightly twisted and released the arrow which rotates counterclockwise bends low and pierces the chest of the warrior facing the observer.

    “Aaaah…!!”

A curved arrow with a different grain that appears to have been fired from a completely different direction than the direction in which Lennok and Evelyn are located.

But what is more surprising is the fact that Evelyn did not use a single ounce of magical power in the process.

She succeeded in sniping a superhuman who used magic only with her own strength and skills.

While Lennok was slightly impressed by that fact Evelyn looked back at Lennok and grinned.

“Since we have been doing this for three days just making our presence known in this way will be of great help to those watching.”

    “…good.”

    Slam!

Lennok replied and took out a sniper rifle from his pocket.

“Then let’s help for a moment and then leave.”

Seeing that Evelyn’s expression actually turned into embarrassment.

“Now wait a minute. “If you use something like that here…”

Instead of responding Lenno pulled the trigger.

The sound of a gunshot completely masked by noise magic. Dabi who had been sleeping well woke up thanks to Evelyn and with a distressed look on his face he fired and simultaneously designated the bullet’s jumping point.

The angle of launch was twisted and it penetrated the enemy’s limbs from a completely different direction.

    “Ugh…!!”

    “It’s a sniper!!”

    “They are hiding nearby…!!”

“Fuck you even when they come into the labyrinth!!”

“Everyone search the hallways nearby. You won’t have gotten far!!”

Unlike other superhumans who shout in rage the observers who noticed the presence of Lennok and Evelyn took action immediately.

Lennok nodded as he saw several faces he remembered reaching for the keys.

“This is enough. “It is impossible to help other observers through the gates they encounter…”

Although quite a few entrants to the labyrinth encountered each other between the streets those gathered here were not all.

Dane of the Cavaine Knights who immediately confronted Lennok is no longer seen here.

Considering the area and width of the Hanghasi Labyrinth you will probably encounter different gateways from different directions and fight against competitors.

It is impossible to help even those who cannot be seen here such as the dog-headed giant Lafferd or the witch doctor Rence.

I could only hope that they would come into the labyrinth on their own and lend a helping hand.

The two got up from their seats and passed through the narrow passage and beyond the gate.

Lennok who had passed through the intangible membrane and raised himself from the inside raised his gaze and muttered.

“The density of magical power is on a completely different level than before. “I’ve only just passed through the gate… but I can’t really feel the magician attached to Jaun.”

“I guess I’ll have to use the deal as bait to meet Jaun again.”

Evelin shook her head and said.

“There is a secret passage through the gateway but we must find out how he knows about it.”

“If the distance narrows to a certain extent you may be able to determine the direction. “For now we have no choice but to move forward.”

Just before sliding down a slope that was much steeper than the stairs I had spent a long time walking up I fell to the ground.

    “…for a moment.”

Lennok who had a thoughtful expression on his face grabbed Evelyn’s shoulder.

    “Huh?”

Not paying attention to the slightly embarrassed Evelyn’s stuttering Lennok wrapped his arms around her neck and pressed down on her head.

Immediately after the dark light that passed by fell on the spot where the two people were causing a huge explosion.

    Kwaaaa!!

“I was just wondering but it was as expected.”

“I barely felt any presence… How did you know?”

Evelyn stands up behind Lennok who deflected the explosion with a shield.

Before she knew it five arrows were tied to the longbow in her hand.

Fire without waiting for a reply. The five black flashes that ran through Evelyn’s fingers this time raced in the opposite direction.

That direction is a slope that runs in the same mirror-like direction as the one on the opposite side of the gateway where Lennok and Evelyn are located.

    Burbubbubbuk!!

Lennok answered in the midst of the dust rising up in an instant.

“There were two stone statues guarding the front of the gate. The road on the main road was perfectly symmetrical around the gateway. then….”

“There are also two secret passages. “I should have guessed that there would be someone hiding from the other side in some other way.”

A relaxed voice comes from the rising dust.

A middle-aged man with slightly balding hair. And the figure of a woman flowing behind him.

Are there just two people over there? While Lennok was quickly checking for signs around him once more the man was stroking his chin and grinning.

“I said hello because I thought I met an excellent treasure hunter but they were just lucky idiots.”

“Do you think grave robbers these days replace greetings with violence?”

Lennok laughed stood up and asked.

“That’s a way of greeting someone like a thief.”

“Isn’t it obvious? “Everyone you meet in this labyrinth is a competitor.”

The man answered without hesitation nodding his head.

Seeing as he didn’t even show any sign of Lennok’s provocative words and actions he seemed to be quite nervous.

“The better the opponent the more quickly and quickly you need to eliminate him. “There are many hands and limited treasure.”

    “….”

“It is the legacy left behind by the Ascendant upon his death. “It must be a treasure chest too full to challenge a hunter’s life.”

After hearing those words Evelyn said with a slightly frowning expression.

“It was my mistake. “I have nothing to say I’m sorry for.”

“…no. I was late in thinking too. “There is no need to make an issue now.”

As a result the fact that they were hiding due to Evelyn’s suggestion was discovered by those who used the opposite passage but it was not a big problem as they had already come down beyond the gate.

The decision to help the observers on the spot and increase the number of allies inside the labyrinth was not wrong.

There was just one minor problem: in order to resolve this matter amicably the other side had to be shut forever.

And it seemed like the other person had the same thought.

    “I can almost feel it.”

    Whirrick!!

The man pulled out a long curved jungle sword from his waist and laughed.

“His unique secretive presence breathing and light footsteps that are not heard. “Are they snipers hiding in the snowy mountains?”

    “….”

“I know better because I’ve lived longer than you…”

Without waiting for Lennok’s answer he nodded as if he knew everything.

“If you gain something you lose something. “If both people possess such incredible sniping abilities they would almost certainly have increased their power by combining their abilities.”

    “Hoo.”

Lennok let out a soft exclamation at the man’s logical tone.

It’s amazing how someone can make a completely wrong decision while using their own evidence.

However the man seemed to gain more confidence from that response and spoke triumphantly as if teaching Lennok.

“In other words if you separate the two of them one by one it will be difficult to demonstrate their power. ”

With those words the woman standing next to the man takes a step forward.

A sickle and hammer connected by a chain are seen in one’s hands. A person with physical abilities who specializes in close combat. It seems clear that it is close to the avant-garde side.

With her hair hanging down she began to focus her magic precisely on Evelyn.

“Especially the women there. “If you look at the way you were protected by that wizard earlier your close combat skills would be at a level of zero right?”

The man holding the jungle sword upside down licked the blade with his tongue and whispered.

“I don’t consider my opponents weak… Lucky fools are the type I hate the most. “You better be prepared.”

    “What a great insight.”

Lennok unable to contain his admiration nodded his head.

Behind Lennok who was clapping Evelyn muttered with a bewildered expression.

“…No everything from one to ten is wrong.”
