    Chapter Index

The time that Dyke promised has passed.

Lennok immediately got dressed and headed to Dyke’s headquarters.

This time there was neither a sedan to meet him nor a guide from Killian but the situation was completely different from when he first met them.

Contrary to the ambitious plan to change the 40th District the fact that their operational capabilities were poor was clearly revealed and the aftermath of company politics also revealed that there was an absurd shortage of manpower.

It makes no sense to not be able to take initiative in this process.

Minimum compensation decided with Jenny in advance. If that line is not met there will be no further collaboration with Dyke.

After consolidating his thoughts Lennok immediately knocked on Panoa’s office door.

“You’re here. Please take a seat.”

An office with a view no different from before.

However Lennok did not miss the fact that the small screen in the corner of the office was obscured by an exquisite square shape.

Without saying a word she poured a cup of coffee for Lennok who was sitting on the office sofa and sat across from him with a calm expression.

    “……..”

I was slowly choosing what to say.

Panoa also knows full well that if he doesn’t catch Lennok now everything will go wrong.

The first thing to do was decided.

    “sorry.”

    Slowly she lowers her head.

“At best I told the anti-mage about my absurd plan and it was delayed. “It’s all my fault.”

    “……..”

“All the inconveniences that occurred during this operation were all the fault of our headquarters and we will pay you compensation in accordance with the process. Of course I promise to delegate success compensation to other personnel who failed their missions in the process.”

A clean apology without any excuses and a calm unwavering tone.

You can see with what mindset she came to this place after experiencing bitter failure.

However this alone was not enough to buy Lennok’s time.

At least if they plan to keep pushing forward with their initial plan without hesitation.

She lowered her gaze for a moment and slowly opened her mouth.

“I think in about a week you will have noticed what is going on inside our company.”

    “……..”

Lennok’s gaze changed slightly at the unexpected words.

I never would have thought that Dyke’s internal circumstances which I thought was his weakest point would be brought up from the beginning.

Panoa also seems to have had no intention of washing his mouth with just a few pennies.

“I honestly admit it here. Unlike the capital currently being invested in this project the high-quality manpower that can be mobilized within the headquarters is extremely limited. “The people who are helping me won’t be able to stay at the company after this plan fails.”

    “Just get to the point.”

Panoa flinched at Lennok’s cold words and bit his lip.

The two people’s positions that were reversed in less than a month will only feel cruel.

However instead of being buried in such trivial emotions she has prepared much more rational judgment and persuasion.

“…No matter what happens I want to borrow the wizard’s power. “This is an expression of my will.”

As she spoke she took out a black security bag from behind the sofa.

When I open the tightly locked lock and enter the password the bag bursts open.

A pair of small rings can be seen along with the strong scent of magic emanating from them.

“This is the ring of Pryice an artifact that was given to the shadow magician who was with us in the last operation with the goal of completing the plan.”

    “……..”

“Although it falls short of the compensation promised to the wizard it is a valuable artifact as it is equipped with a shock resistance spell that can protect the wearer’s body.”

    Panoa’s eyes were burning hotly.

Even if they say it in words this ring would also be an item of considerable value if the goal was to fully achieve the plan.

Just by looking at the magic contained within it was clear that it was not a low-class item but Lennok answered without changing his expression.

“You probably know what I want.”

The minimum terms Jenny and Lennok had agreed to.

The common thought of the two people was that no matter how insufficient it was the timing of receiving the relics should be brought forward at least as soon as possible.

If Panoa tries to wipe his mouth with a pair of artifacts the deal is over.

As if she sensed Lennok’s feelings she continued speaking quickly.

    The main point started now.

“Bidding for the item you want has ended at the VIP Auction House and is currently in the delivery preparation stage. “I promise to deliver the artifact to the wizard by the end of the next request not just five requests.”

The sincerity comes out in every word.

The sight of her presenting Lennok with a certificate showing that she had purchased an item at an auction clearly showed what kind of determination she had made to persuade Lennok.

    “……”

As Lennok doesn’t respond her words become a little more urgent.

“I will establish a command system so that Banmage’s judgment can be prioritized in all future operations and I will also delegate the selection of additional team members who will participate in the plan. If that’s not enough…..!!”

Panoa’s increasingly aggressive words stopped after Lennok picked up a pair of rings.

Lennok stared at the flow of magical power emanating from the artifact for a while then nodded and stood up.

    “Wizard…?”

Considering the internal circumstances of Dyke’s company that Sebastian heard about the compensation she just mentioned should be seen as the upper limit of the stake that can be placed on Lennok.

Since I received confirmation of the purchase certificate I didn’t think there was any need to listen to useless words.

“Make a document of everything I just said and send it to Jenny. “We’ll talk about the detailed schedule later.”

Panoa’s face realizing the meaning of those words straightened slightly and stiffened at the same time Lennok turned around again.

Lennok looked down at Panoa with a cold gaze and said.

“This matter is over but this mistake should never be made again. “Because they’re not the only ones taking risks.”

    “……..”

“I think I’ve proven my abilities and deserve to be treated the way I deserve.”

    “…I know.”

“What we are doing now is because our interests are somewhat aligned not because we are giving one-sided help right?”

Lennok muttered as he held the office doorknob.

“You’re going to have to strike a good balance. “There are many things that cannot be solved with money alone.”

    That’s ironic.

The words Lennok said to Panoa were more than anything words that suited Lennok himself.

But in this place even such delusion was nothing more than a luxury.

    Percussion!

    “…….”

Panoa left alone in the quiet office lowered his head in silence.

Her face seemed full of inexplicable fatigue.

Lennoc who saw the figure as if peering through the door turned his back without saying a word and immediately left the building.

    proposal

    ‘This makes it clear.’

Lennok thought as he walked out of the street being politely seen off by Dyke employees.

‘You’re bold but you’re too inexperienced.’

At first glance Panoa appears to be a person who is rational and knows how to make bold decisions but compared to Jenny who actually handles things that way he is completely different.

The decision to immediately hand over a rare artifact and at the same time delegate the chain of command in this plan was not a bad decision in itself but it is not easy to shake off the lingering regret over the bloodshed that occurred in the process.

That may be why he did not easily trust Lennok’s decision and showed signs of trying to raise the stakes even more.

This happened because Panoa did not trust the person named Lennok in the first place.

    “…….”

    I can understand.

It’s difficult to feel comfortable entrusting an important task to someone you’ve never met before.

However after exchanging money on this floor there should be no backbiting.

In that sense Panoa was a talent not suited to this role.

‘I’ll just give it as much as I get and then step away. Considering the value of the relic it may not be an easy task but…’

As Lennok thought so he glanced toward the inside of his coat.

You don’t have to listen to know how much effort Panoa put into saving Fryais’ ring.

    Artifact.

For Lennok who understands how difficult it is to impart magic to an object it is a treasure worth a thousand gold.

Even though Enakpil’s five fingers have not been obtained right now it is still a visible achievement to obtain an artifact with an enchantment.

Even if great progress could not be made right away it was not common to have the opportunity to see with the naked eye exactly how magic was given to an artifact and how it worked.

‘It would be nice if we could produce visible results as quickly as possible… but we need to be patient.’

Even for Lennok who freely uses shield magic the protection magic built into the ring is of great significance.

Unlike shield magic which simply alleviates external shocks unilaterally protection-type unique magic is good at protecting the user through a variety of methods.

Of course the effectiveness of the ring must be properly analyzed to know but it is probably a magic that can relieve the impact on the internal organs and the skeleton itself or block various harmful substances that cannot be solved with a simple shield.

This was clearly not a bad thing for Lennok who was extremely dependent on the shield magic for defense.

Wasn’t it all thanks to Lennok’s abnormal obsession with safety that the shield magic which was seriously inflexible in terms of performance alone was developed to this point in the first place?

In that sense the protection magic built into the ring will serve as excellent insurance for Lennok.

Slowly calming down his slightly excited mood Lennok took out his cell phone.

Lennok who quickly made a call using the built-in contact information quickly disappeared beyond the crowd.

I didn’t even know that the complicated gaze of someone who was looking at the scene from the top of the building was lost.
