    Chapter Index

    Time has passed.

Lennok visited the market after a long time exhausted.

Although he was busy with work for a while and had no choice but to eat instant food Lennok still did not give up on his dream of eating a healthy diet.

He’s still clumsy at cutting a knife and even measuring out seasonings is a mess but that’s a problem that can be overcome with effort regardless of Lennok’s devastating athleticism.

In the end Lennok knew very well that he had no choice but to move on his own in order to get the nutrients he needed.

Until I met a woman with green eyes for the first time in a long time.

    “It’s been a while.”

    “Oh yeah….”

    City government agent Evelyn.

She is a woman with insane power and status but also has a simple hobby of growing vegetables and selling them to the market.

I haven’t been to that market even once since I ran into her so maybe she moved her mat too?

Even if you are unlucky there is nothing like this.

The moment Lennok noticed her presence he quickly returned the magic pattern he had been changing to its original state.

This was the magic pattern I knew when I first met her at the market.

It was unclear whether Evelyn remembered Lennok’s magic pattern but there was no harm in being careful.

Evelyn who was looking at Lennok across the dozens of vegetables spread out on the stand tilted her head.

    “hmm….?”

    “Why are you doing that?”

“It seemed like the magic pattern had changed slightly didn’t it?”

    “……..”

“Probably not. “I’m tired these days so I guess I was a bit mistaken.”

    “Maybe so.”

When he chimed in with a rare kind smile Evelyn also nodded in understanding.

I don’t know what kind of eyes she had for noticing Lennok’s short gap in changing the magic pattern but she was a woman who really made it impossible to let down one’s guard.

Lennok who was slowly looking down at the vegetables with a smiling face was constantly repeating thoughts in his head.

‘He is a strong man who uses force against Kroken. You have to be careful….. careful….’

Contrary to his intentions Lennok with a relaxed expression selected the vegetables he had thought of in advance and put them in the shopping cart. He took money out of his wallet and handed it to Evelyn.

She diligently counted all the bills and gave me change according to the price.

Even if it’s something you do as a hobby are you meticulous in these areas?

While thinking about that Lennok very naturally greeted me and turned around.

As long as you go out into the market you are successful.

The moment I took a step while thinking that I heard Evelyn’s voice from behind me.

    “Hold on there.”

    “…….yes?”

    “What’s your name?”

Evelyn asked with a face whose thoughts were unknown.

“Why are you curious about that?”

“For a level 4 wizard the magic pattern is very clean. Usually guys like you who have the right basics quickly rise to the top.”

She smiled faintly as she said that.

“Well I might see you somewhere later. “Wouldn’t it be nice to at least know your name?”

Her smile which had almost no expression was surprisingly refreshing.

Of course this didn’t make any sense to Lennok who knew where her real job was.

How on earth could Lennok know whether seeing each other later meant seeing him as a fellow colleague or as the agent’s prey?

When Lennok’s reaction wasn’t positive Evelyn crossed her arms and looked worried.

“Hmm… Actually this is information that I shouldn’t tell you but I should tell you in advance.”

“I’m not sure what that means.”

“Soon there will be a large-scale inspection of the lawless areas outside. “In particular I plan to focus on rooting out the alcoholics who spread mats and eat up tax money in the 40th district.”

    “……..”

It was an incredibly absurd statement but Lennok couldn’t laugh at all even at the joke-like topic.

For Lennok who knew where Evelyn was working it was no joke at all.

Evelyn smiled faintly unaware of Lennok’s speed.

“If you have connections there it would be best to hide yourself for a while. “I don’t know if your name is on the deep web but you’re probably doing something like that right?”

    “What does deep web mean?”

Lennok pretended not to notice and accepted those words and Evelyn also ignored them without notice.

“I’m telling you because I like it. “Wouldn’t it be embarrassing if we bumped into each other for no reason?”

Of course if I were really caught in an agent-led inspection it wouldn’t have ended in an embarrassing situation… but there was no need to say that here.

Evelyn seemed to think this was enough and she skillfully changed the topic.

    “I am Evelyn. Eveline Marcia.”

    “My name is Ad James.”

Lennok also lied calmly without blinking.

I know the other person is a city government agent but there was no need to name Evan Bylan here.

The last thing she wants is for her to track down Evan Bylan’s name and discover a flaw in his poor fake identity.

Evelyn smiled even deeper when she heard the name Lennok gave her.

    “Ad James? Okay I’ll remember.”

“I also try not to forget.”

“If you don’t give me the same name the next time you meet I’ll have to prepare myself then. “Okay?”

    “……..”

Did you realize it was a pseudonym the moment you gave it your name?

However Evelyn who said such things even though she knew it was a pseudonym was not an ordinary person.

Lennok nodded hesitantly and left the market.

He felt like her eyes were glued to his back but feigning calmness was one of the easiest things for him to do.

After leaving the market for a while Lennok let out a small sigh and turned towards the studio.

“Should I look for another market…..”

Even though I’ve already moved to another market I never thought I’d see you here again.

At this point I was starting to wonder if she was opening a vegetable shop while touring various markets in the city.

‘There’s no need to get close to people who know I’m a wizard.’

Even though this is our second meeting he is still someone who sends a chill down my spine.

Whether friend or foe I never wanted to have anything to do with her in the future.

I don’t yet know how skilled she is and I don’t want to know.

We need to make at least some preparations for unexpected situations but we can only hope that the city government agents live up to their reputation and chase down the big criminals of Pandemonium.

Lennok started walking as he received Jenny’s message appearing on the screen of his cell phone.
