Drug-Eating Genius Mage – 2
by Jessie@AFNCC
On the fourth day, my face began to turn dark due to insomnia and physical fatigue.
Now other workers are reluctant to come near Lennok.
The supervisor deliberately placed Lennok in a corner of the parts room where he could not be seen and completely ignored him.
It seemed like the intention was to prevent the body from collapsing and interfering with work time even if it were not strange to die at any time.
It was actually a good opportunity for Lennok who had tried to get out by intentionally causing a commotion.
After fiddling with the parts for a while I slowly get up from my seat and move towards the hallway.
In the meantime I made eye contact with a worker with a blank face but he just turned his head away as if he had seen something he couldn’t see and didn’t say anything.
While the supervisor was brandishing a horsewhip with a red-hot face Lennok quickly escaped out of the parts room.
As the stuffy air opened up and a cool breeze blew I felt like I could breathe much easier.
If we keep standing still like this it will only be a matter of time before we get discovered.
Lennoc walked secretly holding his stumbling body against the wall of the hallway.
Old picture frames and broken window frames hanging occasionally in the hallway. Dirty floors and an exhaust fan spinning loudly on one side… It doesn’t seem to have any special features but that makes it all the more strange.
This is because the game WORLD that Lennok was playing was a typical medieval fantasy world until version 2.0.
If this world is different from the WORLD worldview that Lennok knew the situation becomes more complicated.
If it became impossible to utilize the game knowledge the one hope Lennok had would be gone.
Just thinking about it makes me feel uneasy but now that I think about it there is no other way.
Lennok shook his head and continued to walk down the dirty hallway trying to remember the route.
Fortunately Lennok’s memory was far beyond normal so it wasn’t difficult to recall the way he came.
Beyond simply remembering it is also easy to accurately estimate the moment when the hallway bends adjust the distance and construct a three-dimensional space in your head.
You can predict the direction and space and estimate the size of the factory just by looking at the way the hallway divides.
Lennok didn’t walk for long but just by leaving the parts room and walking down the hallway a map of the factory was being completed in his head.
As I continued walking down the hallway at some point an acrid smell hit my nose.
A smell that strongly stimulates the sense of smell and the brain just by smelling it unlike other simple odors.
It is the scent of a highly addictive cigarette or a luxury product suitable for it.
As Lennok muffled the sound of his footsteps and moved a little further a space opened up at the end of the hallway and a small side door leading to the outside of the factory began to appear.
Small voices were coming out of the slightly open door along with acrid smoke.

Lennok found an awkward viewing angle where he wouldn’t be immediately visible even if the door flew open and sat down to listen to the voices coming from him.
“The guys who came in this time were very slow. “This is why I don’t know if I can deliver it on time.”
“What can we do when we lock up abandoned people in the city and use them? I have to beat it to make it go faster. “If you don’t make it on time the superintendent might burn your forehead with a cigarette.”
“Fuck… I absolutely can’t stand that. “The last time it happened I shed a few tears because it hurt.”
Noisy laughter erupted at the man’s thick swear words.
Listening to the conversation the people talking beyond the door seemed to be supervisors similar to furry giants.
“Why are union members so picky about time? “Every time they come and talk shit the number of times the superintendent talks shit to us increases.”
“Have you not heard yet? “They take the items made here and sell them to warlocks.”
“what? “Why do guys like wizards need a shredder?”
Was it a shredder that was being made here? Lennok who had been stuck in the parts room all day didn’t even know what he was making.
‘Anyway it seems magic exists in this world too. That’s a good thing.’
It was an unfamiliar world and without the existence of magic Lennok’s talent would have had no meaning.
Lennok sighed in relief and listened to the supervisors’ conversation again.
Another voice answered in a much lower voice to the man’s absurd voice.
“Isn’t it obvious if a warlock buys a grinder? “I guess they use it on corpses.”
“Damn… I suddenly feel sick. “I need to smoke another one.”
“Put it in your mouth. “I’ll light it on fire.”
A thick hand holding a lighter was visible through the crack in the door.
“The lighter is nice but how much is it?”
“I recently bought it at Calvin & Cubs. “It works with magical power.”
As he spoke he pulled his thumb and a blue flame rose from the tip of the lighter.
And a huge upheaval occurred inside Lennok who was watching the series of events.
A shock as if someone was pulling a trigger in my head. It was a phenomenon that occurred when a new sensation that he had never known before stimulated his body and mind in the blink of an eye.
It was the sixth sense beyond the five senses the third eye and the second self.
The moment Lennok realized this he recognized that this was the fundamental force that made up this world and the driving force that defined existence.
It was always flowing throughout the world and he just wasn’t aware of it until now.
In the past Lennok had never even thought that he had such talent and his mind was suppressed by despair and pain due to the long time he spent at the factory.
However the current Lennok was a completely different person and he was fully aware of the magical power and mental talent contained in his body.
All that was needed was a tiny trigger like the flame of that lighter.
In the shock of awakening to magical power Lennok stopped all thoughts and absentmindedly savored the moment of awakening.
The power flowing through this weak body was his most important asset weapon and hope.
Lennok whispers softly holding his thumb and index finger together.
“Light.”
Paaa-!
As the magical power obtained from the chant overlaps with the flame image in Lennok’s mind it breaks through the realm of ideals and concepts and appears in reality.
It was magic.
Good luck!

Lennok faintly trembled as he saw the blue flame blooming in his hand.
A flame identical to the one from the lighter shining through the crack in the door was dancing on his fingers.
Everything around him changed but the magic of the WORLD he knew did not change.
For some reason that fact alone seemed to give Lennok some small consolation.

After that Lennok listened to the supervisors’ conversation for a while but escaped before he was caught and returned to the parts room.
The supervisor in the parts room noticed that he was gone and went on a rampage but luckily he only received a few hits.
Listening to what the workers around him were saying it seemed like there was a sinister rumor going around that he was now looking for a place to die.
I ate the dry porridge in one go and lay down and thought about it.
‘There are three days left until the union comes to collect the product.’
The supervisors chatted for a while after lighting each other’s cigarettes and Lennok was able to get some useful information from it.
‘If union members come to the factory of course the supervision of supervisors will weaken… That’s the only chance.’
If we delay any longer than that Lennok’s weak body will not be able to withstand it.
The reason he was able to somehow maintain his sanity even in such a harsh environment was only thanks to Lennok’s mental ability that he had invested in.
However no one knew whether he would be able to maintain his current judgment and reason even after his body was completely destroyed.
Time is not on his side but that does not mean there is no breakthrough.
Lennok carefully covered his head with the blanket turned to face the wall and curled up.
As I did before the moment I put my two fingers together and imagined a blue flame a small light appeared and began to softly illuminate the inside of the blanket.
“……”
Is it because I tried it once before? Now I didn’t even need to chant to use magic.
Lennok quietly stared at the magical light and tried to narrow the gap between his magical knowledge and reality.
In fact Lennok knows nothing about the sense of moving magic power or the tricks of using magic.
The Demon Musketeer character he played simply used magic by chanting as instructed by him over the monitor making a hand sign then designating an impact point with a gun and shooting.
The magic that Lennoc was able to create with his will alone without chanting or hand seals was a type of magic he had never experienced before.
There is only one possibility that comes to mind. Could it be because of the magic-related abilities he pushed to the limit when creating the character?
According to speculation Lennok is actually realizing the magic that vaguely remains in his mind through his talent alone.
A talent that allows one to use magic without knowing anything about beasts and chants.
Lennok realized how ridiculous and incredible this was.
He can only combine this talent appropriately with the various game knowledge he knows. It would not be impossible to grow quickly in a short period of time.
However there is one problem: Even if this world’s magic system and WORLD’s magic system match Lennok’s knowledge of magic is only half.
This is because the character played in ver2.0 encountered the limitations of the Magic Musketeer job and could only use the common magic system called ‘Dexter’ among the magic.
About the unique magic system ‘Sinister’ used by real wizards I have only seen and heard rumors at a similar level to other players.
But for now that was enough. There were plenty of useful spells in the common magic ‘Dexter’.
‘The real value of magic is not its splendor or destructive power.’
If I hadn’t awakened my magic I would have had to think a little harder but once I was able to use even the smallest amount of magic the difference was clear.
All that’s left is to make the preparations you’ve thought out starting tomorrow.
Lennoc clenched his fist to extinguish the flame straightened his body and closed his eyes.
Severe insomnia is still tormenting him and it has been four days since he fell asleep and woke up repeatedly.
I had already given up on getting a good night’s sleep without leaving this room filled with soft snoring and bad smells.
Lennok who stayed up most of the night continued to practice using magic until the other workers could wake up.
If he can’t get used to this feeling Lennok has no future.
There was only one runway available to him and he couldn’t even think of any other possibilities.
And it was he who made Lenno like that.
