    Warning(2)

It’s been 3 days since I returned to the Balkans.

Lennok was in regular contact with Jenny keeping track of all the spiritual and material accomplishments of the Dominion.

Among them the ones that I was able to personally achieve were the flame-type unique magic of the Blader Tower and the creation magic created by Lennok himself.

Creation magic has only a rough outline yet and the only magic that can actually be used is the gravity-type [Manli Printing].

Basically it is a hastily created system to elevate frequently used common magic to the level of unique magic so the foundation is still poor.

Of course I decided in what direction I would develop it in the process but in order to go beyond this it seemed like more in-depth data collection and steady theoretical research would be needed.

But the Dengeki series is different.

In the field of lightning Lennok already had more than enough know-how and knowledge.

There is a lot to say about lightning which started out as the magic of the Torburn Magic Tower that deals with lightning-class magic but has now become a completely different magic of its own after dozens of changes in its properties.

Just explaining the know-how and principles of ascension that he learned while using magic would have taken hundreds of pages… but Lennok decided to hold back for now.

‘Since I am known externally as an elementalist I should choose a theme that can be appropriately combined with Dabi’s abilities.’

Lennok’s fingers immediately moved as he made a split second decision in his head.

His thin long fingers flying across the keyboard… didn’t happen.

“You mean damn athleticism applies here too?”

Even if you increase your typing speed just a little your fingers will inevitably miss and countless typos will occur.

In a rare display of irritation Lennok began typing each word on the keyboard with great care.

Dabi who was crouching next to the laptop looked up at Lennok and wagged his tail.

[Should we start creating an automatic writing algorithm now?]

“…I didn’t want to use my magic for something like this but I’m asking you to do it right now.”

If he were to translate the knowledge in Lennok’s mind into a thesis it would easily take twenty pages but with his horribly slow typing skills it would just be a waste of time.

Dabi who was crouching down on the keyboard on behalf of Lennok said.

[Compared to creating an automatic flight algorithm it is very simple. It will be over in 3 minutes. For the master just think of the file title.]

    “It’s the title….”

Lennok looked at Dabi’s wagging tail lost in thought.

“Let’s do it [construct an electronic network interference algorithm using lightning-type property-changing magic].”

[Wouldn’t it be better to just write my name clearly on the front of the paper?]

“okay. “Let’s attach a photo of you and pin it on the cover in a large size.”

    [….]

Of course I had no intention of going that far but I was planning to write a thesis on the topic of compatibility between the reality that Lennok realized while dealing with the War Spirit and the war brain world.

Now that we know how powerful computing power and highly refined magic power of lightning affect the Balkan system there are quite a lot of stories worth telling.

Lennok devoted himself to tapping on his laptop all night long with Dabi.

It took approximately 10 hours for one paper of approximately 180 pages to be sent to the academic society’s mailbox.

A paper with Aris’s laboratory’s name instead of Evan’s name arrived in my mailbox just in time for the deadline.

It took less than two days for the academic world to turn upside down.

    * * *

“It’s been a while since I saw your face. how are you?”

    “I’m not sure.”

Lennok responded and sat down across from him.

A leisurely cafe terrace in the afternoon.

A quiet space with no customers. Even there the discerning eye for selecting a table that is exquisitely hidden from people’s eyes stands out.

This is probably a know-how that only those who are experienced in arranging meetings in this way can have.

“If you and your agent often see each other face to face I think you might not get along well.”

“Oh my the jokes have increased a lot since we haven’t seen each other. “I know how to say things that I don’t really mean.”

Short hair that falls down to her shoulders and dark green eyes.

And even the cold magical power that has been captured without any gaps and calmly subsided.

Contrary to his relaxed attitude and actions his momentum is as sharp as a blade.

In fact even though it has been a long time since we saw each other face to face there is not the slightest change or disturbance.

    Agent Eveline Marcia.

The archer called the city government’s hound and nicknamed Hyeon-gung sipped his cup of coffee as always.

“Oh right. I’m growing some celery these days. Would you like to try some? Great for dieting. “It’s full of magical power so it’s good for your body.”

“…it’s okay. Are you still running a vegetable shop?”

“then. I am traveling around the Balkans and working hard at doing business. These days the income is so good that I feel like I can quit my day job.”

Lennok sighed as he looked at Evelyn who was smiling slyly.

“Stop saying things you don’t even mean. “Unless you want to give the media a good story.”

Agents are one of the most elite units in the city government and are part of a security organization. Among them her position as an unrivaled talent and well-known to citizens is significant.

Of course she isn’t the only monster under Balkan’s command but for someone as strong as her to quit being an agent they would have to overcome countless opposition.

“I thought of this when you mentioned media. Have you seen this?”

As Evelyn said that she held out the newspaper that had been lying on the table towards Lennok.

“They said that Labatenon University published a paper that turned the world of academia upside down.”

    “….”

“I heard you presented a new paradigm for how to use lightning-type magic. I was curious about your opinion.”

Evelyn grinned as she looked at Lennok who was silent.

“I want to hear what the most powerful lightning wizard I know thinks.”

    “…I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Lennok accepted the newspaper with an annoyed frown on his face.

“I learned magic by rolling around in the back alleys so I have almost no knowledge of theory. “Even if you look at papers like this you barely know what’s going on.”

“Hoo… Is this because you don’t know much about theory?”

The way Evelyn muttered as if she would remember everything Lennok said without missing a single word seemed persistent.

Lennok pretended not to notice and turned his attention to the newspaper.

Even though I gave Evelyn a brief look there’s no way Lennok didn’t know.

Isn’t it only natural that the amount of messages Aris is sending has increased fivefold because of this paper?

How absurd it was to receive a call from Aris who called with a voice full of emotion saying that she had trusted Lennok all along.

I never could have imagined that a paper on applying lightning-type magical power to electronic devices would create such a big stir.

According to Aris everyone is surprised that a single researcher has achieved results on a theme that has only been attempted several times without a single success.

When I was writing my thesis I searched to see if it was a relatively common topic but the problem was that I couldn’t check whether it actually yielded results or not.

It is said that derivative papers are being published one after another in response to Lennok’s visible achievements which are not limited to simply flowing magical power but also complement compatibility with powerful computing devices.

According to Aris the number of citations to Lennok’s paper is already increasing like crazy.

Fortunately thanks to Aris’ consideration it seems that thorough protection measures were taken for Evan’s identity and personal information but the unexpected fame was enough to embarrass Lennok.

    ‘My headache is already hurting….’

When he gets back to college how will he make excuses to undergraduate students and researchers who will bombard him with questions?

“I need to look at Aris Richelen’s insight again. I heard a rumor that they are focusing on nurturing younger students but I never thought they would achieve results this way. “Are geniuses different?”

“…I’ve heard of that woman too. Considering that it is a research paper isn’t it the achievement of a genius?”

Lennok quickly sold Aris’ name as if he had been waiting.

“but. It doesn’t make sense to be looking at level 7 at that age. “I wonder how she can reach such a high level while working as a professor at the same time… I understand that Sinclair Tower of Magic is anxious to invite her.”

Evelyn seemed to agree with Lennok’s words.

Does even Evelyn who has abilities beyond common sense show respect for the talent that Aris possesses?

Considering that Grisha a level 7 shaman thought highly of Aris it was not that strange.

Although the world calls Aris Richelen a genius it seems that those with abilities beyond the standard are more keenly aware of how great his talent is.

“so. Is that the end of what you want to say? “I hope we get to the point soon.”

Although he has accepted Evelyn’s words so far that is not the purpose of Lennok coming here.

If she who usually only occasionally gave playful greetings summoned Lennok now there was a high possibility that it would not be for ordinary business.

Considering what kind of situation Jenny’s bar is in right now what she would say would probably be…

“cartel. “You already guessed it right?”

    “….”

As Evelin said that she put down the glass she was holding in her hand.

As soon as the glass hit the table the wave of magical power that emanated from her fingertips instantly spread around and became an intangible veil.

She blocked out all the sight and sounds around her in an instant looked at Lennok and said.

    “It’s so big. “Give up.”

“What are you asking me to give up?”

“Whether it’s the business you’re running or the bar. Either that or that woman.”

    Lennok fell silent.

“Cartel executives are monsters that we cannot easily touch. They are all talented people who have been on this floor for decades. Do you think you’ll be my opponent?”

    “….”

“I’m giving you advice based on your skills and potential. “I personally think you…”

After hesitating for a moment she said.

“I think he could be a genius on par with that Aris Richellen. “I don’t want to see that kind of talent trampled on just to create a decent business.”

“If you’re that worried why don’t you help me?”

Lennok laughed and responded but Evelyn did not laugh.

“I would if I could but… it’s a different story from when Craig Tillian was on the rampage.”

The terrorist operation carried out by the Necrophilia warlock Craig Tillian was extremely radical and effective but it was completely at odds with the interests complexly intertwined in the Balkans.

Therefore in terms of justification there was no problem even if Evelyn arbitrarily used her agent’s power to dig up the finances of Reisen who was a member of the city council.

But the case of cartels is different.

Basically this is a case where an alliance of companies gathered in the dark has solidified into an organization.

The infrastructure networking capital and solid organizational structure were at a level that even agents could not easily touch.

“It is the organization that is most directly involved in shadowy cash flow. When the cartel collapses the economic system of the underworld collapses and the boundary between freelancers and outlaws collapses. There is a possibility that those who survive by getting work through brokers may become outlaws. “It’s a difficult issue to intervene in unless you directly address it from the inside.”

“Are you saying maintaining the status quo is best?”

“At least unless an equivalent organization appears… I guess you’re going to answer like this right?”

Evelyn said that and sighed deeply.

    Lennok laughed.

“Didn’t you know from the beginning?”

It wasn’t for nothing that Jenny was calm when she was attacked by the cartel.

It was obvious that checks from other businesses would come in from the moment the business started.

It’s just that the opponent was bigger than I thought.

In the end it was an opponent that had to be faced at any time in order to climb up the Balkan order.

“I have no intention of ending up as a freelancer. But I’m also reluctant to fall under someone else.”

To be precise he was reluctant to join the organization due to his own circumstances but Lennok did not go that far.

“Then I have no choice but to go up and hold the hand of the person I am missing. “This is just the process.”

In the end it was no coincidence that he chose Jenny as his partner.

It’s hard to find someone as talented and ambitious as she is but who also needs Lennok as much as she does.

From the beginning I didn’t expect that the mastermind of the underworld would come at me with a sword but on the other hand if the cartel was taken down Jenny’s business could immediately take over.

I had no intention of raising the flag before even giving an estimate.

“Haa… If I had known he was this ambitious I shouldn’t have gotten involved with him at all.”

While listening to Evelyn’s lament Lennok drank all the remaining coffee.

I don’t usually drink coffee as I can’t sleep after just one cup but it didn’t matter today as I had more things to do.

“Have I said everything I wanted to say?”

    “wait.”

As Lennok was about to get up Evelyn took out a note from her arms and placed it on the table.
