Drug-Eating Genius Mage – 137

dabi (1)
Lennok smiled as he watched the students playing noisily with the dabi bouncing in the air.
The loose atmosphere that makes you wonder if this is okay is not bad.
At the very least it will be of great help in raising the reputation of an assistant professor named Evan Bylon.
It wasn’t something I could really get used to but it wasn’t so much that I couldn’t bear it.
While thinking like that and infusing the magic power that was lacking into Dabi’s body Priscilla came up next to him.
“Why don’t you go and touch it together?”
The sensation of actually touching the spirit may not be as real as expected but it is still not at the level of no sense of touch at all.
However Dabi is not a spirit that actually came from the spiritual dimension but rather a foreboding spirit born by combining an artificial intelligence module and necromancy so his sense of reality will be lacking compared to other spirits.
Priscilla looked worried for a moment but quickly regained her composure and shook her head.
“…..are you okay. Just looking at it like this is enough.”
“……..”
“This is my first time seeing a spirit so close. “When you breathe life into a condensation of magic power it moves like this.”
“Is it a different feeling than reading it in a book?”
Priscilla immediately agreed to Lennok’s question.
Just as it is difficult to find wizards among the general public there are extremely rare people among wizards who practice elemental magic.
Even Aris a member of the Sinclair Magic Tower and a university professor had only seen an elementalist a few times so there was no need to say how rare that number was.
The reason Aris decided to actively introduce Dabi in front of the students was probably because she judged that this would have a much greater positive effect.
In fact Lennok was hanging out with Aris’ students very naturally using Dabi as a medium.
Even Lennok could see that the distance which would have taken a considerable amount of time to reduce was disappearing like snow.
Just by having something to talk about together you can easily start a conversation.
Other students including Priscilla were also talking to Lennok much more comfortably than before.
Perhaps curiosity about him who came to Aris as a researcher without any previous connection also played a role.
It wasn’t surprising.
“If I had known how to handle such a cute spirit I would have made it public sooner and there would have been fewer unnecessary rumors.”
“It was difficult to disclose it easily.”

Lennok skillfully used the appropriate words.
“As elementalists are so rare it must have been difficult for the professor to judge whether it would be helpful for me to open this to students.”
“…Well if you are investing most of your magic power in elemental magic it is understandable that your true magic power is so faint.”
“I thought it was right to act rationally even if it means risking such rumors.”
It is true that as soon as it was revealed that Evan was an elementalist many of the subtle views towards him disappeared.
The reason Aris suddenly transfused blood from a new researcher from outside.
And it may be because the existence of the spirit was able to explain various circumstances at once that did not properly reveal what kind of talent the researcher had.
From Lennok and Aris’s point of view the back and forth is unintentionally aligned but it would be strange if they did not actively take advantage of this.
Priscilla’s understanding of what had happened clearly revealed what the other students thought of the assistant professor named Evan.
“Evan.”
Break time passed in an instant and Aris who came back into the classroom called Lennok outside.
Aris said handing over the pen he was holding to Lennok who came out of the classroom with Dabi in his arms.
“There’s an urgent meeting between professors so I think I’ll have to go.”
“yes?”
“It’s a bit of an urgent matter so please stay with the kids for the remaining time and then send them off when the time comes.”
She just said that and entered the classroom finished explaining to the students then took her white blazer and stormed out.
“……..”
Lennok watched her as she quickly walked away and let out a short sigh.
“Now that you think about it I have something to ask you.”
A rainbow-colored gem obtained during a battle with the exploration team.
It is part of the parts that make up the Archangel’s Compassion but no significant results have been achieved so far.
It takes some time to collect data with Sebastian and in a situation where there is no information about the situation it is not advisable to make the first move.
I stopped by the school to refer to the materials available in the university library but unexpectedly the work I had to do was increasing.
“After the lecture is over we can go to the lab or library.”
Lennok muttered that and was about to return to the classroom but stopped when he saw something sticking out of his arms.
Dabi was blatantly sticking his head out and looking at the jewel that Lennok was holding.
Dabi’s gaze which was flicking its tongue as if looking at an appetizing fruit wandered through the air and met Lennok’s.
“……..”
[…….]
There was silence.
“I tell you in advance absolutely not.”
[I haven’t said anything yet.]
“no.”
Lennok had no intention of watching Dabi eat up this jewel of enormous value.
Handing this item over to the spirits without knowing exactly how much benefit it will bring is the worst move.
Crucially this gem was essential in order to deal with the remaining exploration team and bring out Irina Fesfield.
Dabi who had been silent quietly spoke.

[I’m not saying I necessarily want to eat that gem.]
“What do you mean?”
[I see a structural pattern that is fundamentally different from the techniques I have interpreted so far so just observing and interpreting it closely is enough.]
“……..”
[I think it would be very helpful if you could just make it so I can carry it around.]
Seeing him say things like this even saying things he wouldn’t normally say it’s clear how much Dabi wants that jewel.
However as Dabi said if there is a way to research that ability without losing the gem…
“Uhm…..”
[I will be careful to ensure that anything that causes the Master to worry will never happen.]
“……”
The appearance of a spirit that senses Lennok’s feelings like a ghost and quietly adds a word.
He was so cautious that it was hard to believe that he was a newborn who was born less than two months ago.
However if we do not trust not other life but the life created by Lennok himself then what should we trust?
Even if it were something else Dabi would never betray him.
Based on all the judgments and evidence Lennok nodded with difficulty.
“good. Instead you should put it somewhere I can see it.”
[You don’t have to worry about that…dot.]
Dabi must have been having a hard time holding it in and as soon as he said that he quickly clung to Lennok’s hand.
Lennok sighed as he watched Dabi jumping around in the air with excitement holding a jewel that was half the size of his body with his paws.
Even if it looks like that since it is a lightning spirit and can freely go back and forth between materialization and dematerialization it will not happen that you lose your jewels in an absurd way.
The problem was that Dabi was a little different from the one he showed the students earlier.
“Ha… It stands out so much. “Can you hide it normally?”
Dabi immediately nodded. With that the jewel held in her paw instantly turned blurry.
[It is not difficult to use the principles of optical camouflage.]
“Once you start to get used to it let me know what you can do. First we need to find out what kind of power the archangel’s compassion has.”
Lennok said that and entered the classroom again with Dabi in his arms.
Although I unexpectedly had free time the atmosphere in the classroom did not change much.
Aris also tends to give lectures more broadly than other professors so there were many days when her classes ended early and this may be because her lectures were followed by other lectures in this classroom.
All Lennok had to do was stay in his seat until Aris’ lecture was over and come out.
‘There’s about 40 minutes left. ‘It’s ambiguous.’
It is difficult to do something with other students and it is difficult to leave them alone.
It would also be problematic for Lennok who had only recently taken office as an assistant professor to lecture in place of Aris.
Reminiscing about his experiences on Earth he gave him some self-study and was about to stand in front of the podium when someone shouted loudly at Lennok.
“Professor please show me your elemental magic!”
“Oh that’s good!”
“I want to see the magic used by spirits!!”
Once someone brings up a topic public opinion ignites in an instant.
The students seemed somewhat excited as they had little opportunity to see the spirits in person.
It’s not difficult.
First of all since Dabi has the form of a fox of lightning Lennok can shoot lightning-type magic in moderation and imitate Dabi’s use.
To put it bluntly none of the wizards present had the sensitivity to see through Lennok’s methods.
Since we’ve exposed the spirit anyway let’s just show what we have to show here and move on.
With that thought in mind Lennok who had summoned Dabi was about to lightly raise his magic power.
Trudging.
Someone walked forward and stood in front of the podium.
A practical hairstyle with a short upturned hairstyle. Full body of magical power and a sturdy physique to match.
Although he loosely wears the insignia of belonging to Labatenon University he has a mature appearance that makes it hard to tell that he is a student.
Although he was a young man who did not particularly stand out among the over 100 students of the Department of Elements Lennok quickly remembered his face.
He was one of those who occasionally showed a dissatisfied expression when looking at Lennok even now that their gaze on him had begun to relax somewhat.
The name was probably… Roden Bailey.
“What’s going on?”
“If you’re going to show me a spirit technique wouldn’t it be better to have someone with you?”
Roden threw away his blunt expression and spoke with a grin.
“I want to experience for myself what elemental magic is like.”
“……”
Lennok glanced away at the words that seemed so obvious.
He naturally crossed his arms and gestured toward the outside.
The forearms visible through the rolled up shirt hem were thicker than I thought. His body was closer to that of a physically trained warrior than that of a wizard.
“There is a polishing studio right in front of the lecture building. I think it would be a perfect place for the assistant professor to show off his spirit skills.”
The words are still coming out nicely but Lennok is not stupid enough to not be able to read the intentions behind those words and facial expressions.
Rod was clearly using elemental magic as bait to provoke an unnecessary argument with Lennok.
‘Why?’
However instead of being angry or laughing at that fact Lennok quietly tried to guess the reason for its action.
No matter how much I thought about it there was no way that arguing with Lennok would be of any help at this point.
It may have been a time when I had just been appointed as an assistant professor and was subconsciously antipathetic to Dabi after hearing the word ‘parachute’ but now that I have managed to get along with the undergraduate students and build up their goodwill through Dabi’s cuteness it is not easy to get a positive response from those around me.
To be honest it is an extremely emotional decision and there is not much benefit that Roden can gain by thinking rationally.
“Bailey. “Lecture time isn’t over yet.”
Sensing an unusual atmosphere Priscilla came down to the stage and shot back coldly.
“Are you saying you’re going to go out without Professor Richellen?”
“Priscilla….”
He stuttered slightly when he saw Priscilla wondering what was going on and muttered while slightly averting his gaze.
“Oh I guess it doesn’t matter.”
“What?”
“I just brought this up because I wanted to become closer to the assistant professor. The decision will be made by the assistant professor… You can just watch from the sidelines.”
“I’m saying that now….”
Priscilla walked towards Roden with a puzzled expression but Roden turned his head with a completely different attitude than before.
That subtle reaction is completely different from when looking at Lennok.
Priscilla seemed even more annoyed by his stiff attitude but Lennok saw something quite different from her.
An awkward attitude that can’t even make eye contact and a stiff tone of voice.
And even his earlobes turned bright red out of proportion.
Lennok who finally realized the correct answer laughed with a defeated expression.
“Was this…?”
I had been moving in the shade for so long that I had forgotten about it.
In a university full of fresh-faced youth what is the use of being of the opposite sex or being naked?
We are at an age where it is natural for our eyes to roll in the face of unrequited love.
Lennok’s hands and feet were almost cringing at the soft scenery he had seen for the first time in a long time.
Of course Priscilla’s expression facing Roden didn’t look like that at all.
