    Chapter Index

“Qi Zhi Iu, don’t pout like a teddy dog without a care in the world!”

There was a hint of imperceptible shyness in her resistance.

“I was just looking at your back injury.”

Qi Zhiyu’s eyes were calm and deep, as if they could see into all secrets, but there was a touch of imperceptible tenderness hidden in them.

    “What are you thinking?”

His eyes twinkled like cold stars with a hint of inquiry.

Su Wanqing pursed her lips, a hint of distrust flashed in her eyes, “I’ll see for myself, you help me guard outside.”

Her independence and strength are on display in this moment.

As she turned, a small space with a curtain hanging off to the side became her haven.

Taking off the elaborate gown and looking down to examine the not-so-obvious bruise, the bruise on his waist stung in the soft light, as if it were the imprint of a passionate moment in a past memory, both distant and profound.

    “How untouchable!”

The man’s low, flirtatious voice sounded behind her, with a hint of favor, but it also startled her, as if her heart’s secret had been revealed.

“How did you get in here?”

In this small and enclosed space, the air seemed to become blazing hot, her heartbeat couldn’t help but accelerate, slightly raising her head, she happened to meet his deep and meaningful eyes, her ears couldn’t help but redden and the heat spread to her entire cheeks.

“I can check it myself, so get out.”

In a panic, she fumbled with her clothes, intending to pull away, but was instead held steady by his large, warm hand.

“Put some medicine on it, it’ll heal faster.”

Before the words fell, a delicate and small ointment had already appeared in his hand, like magic, making her surprised with a few moments of surprise.

She examined it carefully and confirmed that the ointment was exactly the right product for dispersing blood stasis, and she couldn’t help but be suspicious in her heart.

    “Where did you get that?”

The corner of Qi Zhiyu’s mouth sketched out a playful smile, “It fell from the sky.”

The words were spoken with indolence and ease.

With that, he resumed holding the ointment, gently unscrewing the cap and squeezing some onto his fingertips, the coolness seeming to signal the relief to come.

    “Turn around.”

His voice was low and magnetic.

Su Wanqing arranged her clothes as instructed and turned her back.

Almost at the same instant, the cool ointment touched the skin, and with it came the fit of his warm palm, gently rubbing it, seeming to soothe the uneasiness in his heart along with it.

Just then, a woman’s voice came from outside, accompanied by rapid footsteps, obviously someone approaching.

    “Someone’s coming.”

There was a hint of urgency in her voice.

    “Uh, well.”

Qi Zhiyu’s movements came to an abrupt end, he quickly withdrew his hand, his tone was gentle but carried an irrefutable determination, “You put on your clothes first, I’ll go out and take a look.”

Su Wanqing grabbed the time to organize her clothes, picked up her bag and prepared to leave, only to find that Qi Zhi Iu’s figure had long been nowhere to be found, leaving behind only the warmth in the air that hadn’t completely dissipated.

    “How immodest!”

With a touch of anger and shyness in her words, she huffed and puffed and threw the small package in her hands into his arms with force, then with a turn and a flick of her skirts, she stepped around his form, which was slightly open from surprise, and stepped straight out of the threshold of the lounge, leaving behind only a string of crisp high-heeled shoes hitting the ground.
