    Chapter Index

“The estate is closed and managed, so if you want to take a walk to get some air, feel free.”

Qi Zhi Iu’s voice rang out at the right time, and although it still maintained that indifference, there seemed to be more of an imperceptible gentleness and care between the words.

Su Wanqing leaned lightly beside the carved window pane, her gentle gaze crossing the lush forest paths and fixing on the wide, sprawling, vibrant horse field.

The horses were either pacing leisurely or neighing with their heads held high, and the sunlight on their oily coats was glittering with golden splendor, forming a harmonious and serene picture with the sky in the distance.

Hearing the voice coming from behind her, she slowly turned around, her dark eyes reflecting Qi Zhi Iu’s upright figure.

    “Are you going out again?”

There was a hint of imperceptible lingering in her words, a shimmer in her eyes, as if she were silently inquiring the reason for his impending journey.

Qi Zhi Iu’s back was slightly forlorn, and his tone of voice revealed unquestionable firmness in its flatness, “Go to the study, there are some things to deal with.”

The words fell, and without stopping, he stepped onto the staircase in large strides, leaving only a glimpse of his determined back that gradually disappeared around the corner.

A few moments later, the silence of the yard was broken by a low, powerful sound of a car engine.

A luxury business car slowly drove in, steadily parked in front of the door, the door opened, several bodyguards wearing black suits with athletic bodies got off the car in turn, they looked alert and moved in an agile and orderly manner.

When the leading bodyguard saw Su Wanqing, he immediately put away his serious expression and replaced it with a respectful and gentle smile, “Young Lady.”

Two simple words, but full of respect and care for her.

The other bodyguard followed suit with a greeting, their voices clear on this quiet morning.

Su Wanqing gently raised her hand and pointed upstairs, her tone calm and gentle, “Young Master Qi is up there.”

The bodyguards then moved quickly, each lifting their long-prepared suitcases, one after the other, walking up the stairs at a steady pace.

She stood at the top of the stairs and couldn’t help but look upward.

On the stairs, a bodyguard stood straight, like a statue, his eyes sharply scanning the surroundings, the dedication and concentration made people can’t help but have a few moments of respect.

Just as she was immersed in her own thoughts, a maid hurriedly came and reported respectfully, “Mrs. Qi, there is a young lady outside by the name of Song, saying she is looking for Mr. Qi.”

At the mention of Miss Song, Su Wanqing’s heart trembled slightly, and her mind couldn’t help but conjure up Song Muyan’s name, as well as those messages she had left in Qi Zhiyu’s cell phone.

She hadn’t expected that Song Muyan’s return to the country would be so fast, which caused a trace of unnamable emotions to well up in her heart.

Trying to suppress the sourness in her heart, she forced herself to be calm, her gaze cast upstairs and her voice calmly asked, “Where is that Miss Song now?”

The maid replied, “Ms. Song is waiting inside the manor at the moment.”

Su Wanqing wanted to immediately go forward to the meeting, but the moment she took a step, she hesitated.

Song Muyan’s trip was clearly for Qi Zhiyu, and it didn’t seem right to go there on her own.

So she changed her mind, “Mr. Ki is upstairs, please go up and let us know.”

The maid answered in agreement, glanced slightly nervously at the guards upstairs, and worked up the courage to head upstairs.

Su Wanqing turned around and slowly walked towards the dog cage in the corner.

The puppy in the cage was curled up in a ball, ignoring the food and water bowls next to it, with no intention of eating.

That once spirited and lively little life was unusually depressed at the moment, which made Su Wanqing’s heart tighten and filled with pity.
