    Chapter Index

At that moment, Qi Zhiyu’s large hand covered her eyes and gently turned her head to the side.

    “What are you doing?”

She was just about to pull away from his hand, and before the words left her mouth, her lips were suddenly invaded by a gentle but domineering invasion.

Su Wanqing could only keep her eyes wide open, quietly gazing at the man in front of her, silently bearing it all.

“Why so submissive all of a sudden?”

It was a long time before he reluctantly released her.

Once upon a time, she always subconsciously resisted his closeness.

“What can you do if you don’t obey?”

Her tone was surprisingly calm. According to his logic, having gotten this far, what did he care about a few more times of intimacy? After all, they were a legally recognized couple.

The first time might be understood as discomfort, but after a few times, too much resistance can seem contrived.

    “Well, that’s good.”

Qi Zhi Iu raised his eyebrows in satisfaction, his thumb gently rubbing her lips that were red from the kiss, his tone teasing, “However, if you can cooperate like this in bed as well, it would be even more perfect ……”

Su Wanqing cheeks stained with a touch of blush of shame, “Qi Zhi Iu, can you be a little bit …… shameless?”

As if he had heard an extremely funny joke, he laughed out softly, “Oh, shame?”

“Su Wanqing, is today the first day you recognize me?”

    He asked rhetorically, mocking himself.

His reputation as a flirt has long been known in the circle.

“Besides, what need is there of shame in saying a few private words to one’s wife?”

    He said rightfully.

Facing his elegant and frank appearance, Su Wanqing’s heart seemed to have a thousand emotions intertwined in it, which could only turn into a silent sigh in the end, hopelessly defeated.

Her eyelashes dropped gently, hiding the complex emotions in her eyes, and she chose not to speak again, letting the silence spread between the two.

Qi Zhi Iu noticed her cold response, her eyes couldn’t help but darken, and a wave of displeasure rose in the bottom of her heart, like dark clouds obscuring the clear sky.

But he was well versed in the art of stoicism, and had to forcefully hold down the fluctuations in his heart, not letting his emotions show in the slightest.

The engine restarted and the car slowly drove on, the world outside the window began to flow, the sign of the pharmacy flickered by the window like a landscape that had been hastily skimmed over in life.

As the vehicle traveled, Su Wanqing’s thoughts drifted back to the cozy times of these days, and those moments played in her mind like a movie replay.

Her gaze moved quietly to the side, only to see the man intently tapping away at his cell phone’s keypad, fingertips lightly touching and delivering unknown messages.

Whether Qi Zhi Iu’s words yesterday came from the bottom of her heart or were mentioned casually, her inner voice of reason was clear and firm:

    “Children, there can be none!”

The phone vibrated with a slight buzzing sound and the screen displayed a notification that the leave request had been approved.

As if it was a deliberate arrangement by the God of Fate, ten minutes later, the car steadily stopped outside the door of the police station.

Su Wanqing stepped into the spacious hall, and before she could stand still, a familiar figure came to meet her, calling out respectfully, “Mr. Su.”

    “Boss Fang.”

Su Wanqing answered, her voice not containing the slightest fluctuation of emotions.

As soon as Fang Zhi saw that it was her, he was immediately filled with apologies and his tone was urgent, “Mr. Su, I’m really sorry. I didn’t expect my wife to make such a big misunderstanding ……”

Su Wanqing’s gaze was like a torch as she looked straight at Fang Zhi and inquired, “This matter, were you aware of it before?”

After saying that, she handed over the newspaper that recorded what Mrs. Fong had done.

Fang Zhi took it and quickly skimmed through it, the look in his eyes becoming somewhat unnatural.

“I did my best to explain it …… clearly to her last night, but she was stubborn, and I didn’t expect her to come to you.”
