    “Ice?”

Qi Zhi Iu raised an eyebrow, his tone relaxed but dark, “Oh? You’re interested in this?”

Su Wanqing met his inscrutable gaze, her cheeks indisputably flushed a scarlet red, and she became irritated, “I’m too lazy to care about you!”

She tried to break free as hard as she could, trying to escape the awkwardness of the situation.

“Trying to run off somewhere? Trying to bolt before the shower’s over?”

Qi Zhiyu’s powerful arm tightly encircled her slender waist, his tone carrying a bit of teasing, “What you owe me seems to be just words.”

“I’ll go outside and get you a towel and rub your back.”

She rushed to find an excuse to try and extract herself from this ridiculous bathroom tangle.

Su Wanqing said as she tried to gently pull her wrist away from his hand, with a hint of undetectable hesitation between her fingertips’ gentle touch.

“The ground is slippery and you’re all wet, you’ll catch a cold easily out there like that.”

Her words were filled with care and concern, and every word seemed to carry warmth.

Qi Zhiyu sniffed, the corners of his mouth hooked up into a light smile, his eyes gentle and firm, and while speaking freely, he naturally turned around and lightly plopped down on the edge of the white marble of the bathroom.

The bathroom was filled with water vapor, and the light spilled softly over his shoulder, adding to the stillness of the scene.

Su Wanqing picked up the soft shower ball from the side and meticulously dipped it in delicate bubbles, those bubbles were as pure as the first snow, she gently and carefully applied it to his spine and began to gently scrub it.

Whenever her hand inadvertently touched those tiny scratches on his back, an almost imperceptible intake of breath from him could be caught in the air, a slight reaction to pain that made the heart grow fonder.

Her movements became more cautious as a result, as if she were treating the most precious artifact in the world, lest she aggravate the pain.

After helping Qi Zhiyu finish her bath, Su Wanqing hurriedly rinsed herself, and then stepped into the bedroom with a trace of wetness that had yet to fade.

At this time Qi Zhi Iu has changed into a soft textured robe, leaning back on the bed, an open laptop spread flat on his knees, the blue light of the screen reflecting on his focused face, adding a bit of mystery.

Noticing her coming in, Qi Zhi Iu gently closed the computer and removed the pair of silver-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose in a smooth and elegant motion.

He patted the side of the bed, his voice low and magnetic, “It’s late, go to sleep.”

Su Wanqing’s face instantly flushed, she clutched the towel in her hand and moved to the other side of the bed with light and careful steps, but her heart was as apprehensive as if she was carrying a deer.

Just the moment she lifted her foot, her waist was suddenly surrounded by a warmth, and her entire body was swept into a sturdy and safe embrace by Qi Zhiyu.

“We need to get there early for tomorrow’s family dinner, and Grandpa has invited guests.”

His words rang in her ears, and his body-heated breath brushed against her ear, causing a tingling sensation, and that last trace of sleepiness was dispelled by the subtle sensation, replaced by a small surge of anticipation in the back of her mind.

Outside the window, the moonlight was like water, cool and bright, reflecting in a corner of the room, adding a touch of serene beauty to the night.

Su Wanqing gazed at the bright moon outside the window, not knowing how long it had been, until the distant sky gradually flooded with the first rays of dawn, and sleep crept in.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in the back seat of the limo.
