    Episode 97

    Kwakwakwakwang!

The arrow was equipped with a magic bomb.

Fortunately the shield on Zeke’s meteor armor worked and blocked the damage from the explosion.

    “Are you okay Karus!”

Karus nodded spitting out the dust in his mouth.

Zeke took Karus out of the room.

Boris and Simon were ready and awaiting his command.

“There’s a sniper named Simon! Protect Karus. I’ll take care of it!”

Boris and Simon took Karus outside.

Zeke went straight to the window and climbed up onto the roof.

He broadened his senses to find the sniper.

    ‘Where are you?’

Then another arrow flew towards Zeke.

He drew his sword and cut the arrow.

    Choaaaak!

This time it was poison powder that was scattered instead of bombs.

But the poison powder was of no use to Zeke who was impervious to poison.

Zeke looked at the direction the arrow came from to determine the sniper’s location.

‘Right under the roof of a building 500 meters to the left.’

He unfurled his whirlwind and dashed between buildings.

Arrows rained down on him as he ran.

    Kwakwakwakwang!

Explosions erupted around him but Zeke paid no attention and ran straight towards the sniper.

    bang!

Zeke crashed through the wall of the building and rolled inside.

A panicked sniper shot an arrow at Zeke.

    Ting!

However there was no way the arrows would hit Zigg who was wearing the Yongrin Armor skill on the inside of his iron armor.

Zeke ran straight towards the sniper.

    bang!

He struck with a shoulder strike full of gold power and the sniper was thrown straight into the wall.

    “Cough!”

Zigg who had taken out the sniper in one blow captured him and interrogated him.

“Where did you send that guy?”

The sniper clenched his teeth and tried to commit suicide with poison.

But that method didn’t work on Zeke.

    Crunch!

Zeke then removed the sniper’s jawbone opened his mouth and pulled out the molars containing the poison.

    Bam!

Zig who had reset his jaw asked the sniper again.

“Tell me quickly. Who sent you?”

The sniper shouted glaring at Zeke.

“The ghost of the favela will haunt you forever!”

Zeke kicked the sniper in the stomach.

    “Cough!”

Zeke grabbed the sniper’s hair and tilted his head back.

“Where the hell is this kid getting his teeth from? Since when did the favela guys start raising snipers? You can tell just by looking at them that they smell like Salmak. Didn’t they tell you to say that when you catch Salmak?”

The sniper whose numbers were completely revealed to Zeke was confused.

‘What kind of guy is this?’

I’ve seen all sorts of guys while working as a detective but this is the first time I’ve seen someone like this.

Zeke hit the sniper in the neck.

    “Cough!”

“Don’t turn a blind eye kid. If he was that bad he wouldn’t have come alone. How many people came? Tell me quickly.”

Before Zeke could even hear the answer he pulled out his dagger and used his lightning skill.

    Support support support!

    “Kwaaaaak!”

Although he was trained in all kinds of torture electric torture was an unbearable pain that made his muscles shrink.

    “Three three! Three!”

As soon as Zeke heard the words of the assassin he stabbed him in the neck with a dagger and killed him.

Even if we questioned them further those bastards would never reveal their client.

‘If even the smallest details were involved it would be a headache.’

The Salmak were a traditional group of killers based in the desert.

It was a famous place in the dark world along with the Scorpion Clan a black magic clan.

After exiting the building Zeke used his heightened senses to find other assassins in the area.

There was something that caught his senses then.

Simon and his group who had Karus with them were the ones running away.

‘The Salmak bastards followed Karus’ side. Did the Empire request the assassination?’

Zeke jumped over the building at high speed and chased after the assassins of Salmak.

    Whee!

One of the assassins in Salmak sensed that Zeke was chasing him and stopped chasing him and turned back.

    Shhh!

    A slingshot flew towards Zeke.

    Bam!

Zeke held the spear between his fingers.

The surface of the blade had a bluish tint so it seemed to be contaminated with poison.

Zig charged the spear with gold power and threw it back at Salsu.

    puck!

    “Ugh!”

Unable to avoid the spear the assassin was hit in the thigh and rolled onto the roof of the building. Zeke walked up to the assassin and kicked his neck.

    Boom!

In one room Salsu’s neck was broken.

Zig confirmed that the killer was completely dead and immediately went after the other killer.

    * * *

    ping!

    Kwakwakwang!

Every time an arrow flew an explosion occurred.

Boris Simon and their party riding horses with Karus were unable to escape the assassin’s attacks.

    Simon shouted at Boris.

“Boris! Protect the Prince! We will stop him!”

Boris nodded and picked up speed with Karus on board.

Simon and his men slowed down and looked for the assassin chasing them from the rooftop.

    ‘Where on earth are you?’

It was difficult to tell with the naked eye whether he was a high-level assassin or not.

At that moment a marble rolled down to Simon and his group’s feet.

    “Get out of here!”

    Kwakwakwakwang!

There was an explosion much larger than before.

Simon’s ears were ringing from the explosion and he couldn’t come to his senses due to the shaking that shook the area.

He barely managed to control his body and shouted to his men.

“Take care of the wounded! I’ll go after him.”

Simon drew his dagger and climbed up the wall of the building.

As soon as he climbed onto the roof an arrow flew.

    Bam!

I struck the arrow with my dagger but the poisonous powder spread out in an instant.

    “Ahem!”

Simon who had inhaled the suddenly poured poison powder felt his breathing getting harder and harder.

    ‘Damn.’

He thought he had to take that assassin with him before he died.

Simon lunged at the approaching assassin lowering his stance.

    Whoosh!

As he swung his dagger the assassin moved away and fired arrows.

Even though they were both assassins Salmak’s methods were completely different from those of the South.

The assassins of the Salmak considered it the highest form of murder to kill their targets without them even realizing that they were dying.

It was clearly different from the Southern-style assassination where they went to find the victim told them the reason for the death and then brutally killed them.

    “Ugh!”

Simon felt himself gradually losing strength.

    Then something came.

    Whoosh!

Simon who was blinded by the poison swung his dagger in the direction where he felt the presence.

    chin!

But the man who approached grabbed Simon’s arm and threw him aside.

    “Ugh!”

Then he forced something into his mouth and poured it into his eyes.

    “Huh!”

Suddenly my vision returned and my breathing returned.

When he came to Zeke was looking down at him.

    “Are you okay Simon?”

“Boss I’m sorry. I have to go after the assassin right now…”

    Then Zeke shook his head.

    “I caught the last one.”

I raised my head and looked around and saw the assassin who had been subdued by Zeke.

Zeke and Simon took the assassin and went downstairs.

Fortunately there were only injuries and no deaths.

    Zeke asked Simon.

“It seems that the Empire has placed a request for Salmak.”

Simon’s expression darkened at the word ‘salmak’.

“If it’s Salmak this won’t be the end of it. The Black Market is Salmak’s home ground.”

    Zeke nodded.

“Isn’t there any other route across the border besides the black market?”

Simon thought about it for a moment.

“There is one. It’s a bit further away from here. And the exit of that tunnel is closer to Ishtar’s domain.”

When the word Ishtar came up Zik hesitated for a moment before nodding.

“Let’s go that way. If we’re close to Ishtar’s territory neither the Empire nor the Salmak guys will be able to act recklessly.”

In the worst case scenario Zeke considered going beyond Ishtar’s realm through the forbidden forest of the Forgotten and into the Duchy of Troy.

It would take considerable time but securing Prince Karus’ safety was the first priority.

Simon ordered his men to return to the cartel with the captured assassins and the wounded.

So Zeke Boris Simon Carus and the four of them decided to go through the wasteland of the lawless zone.

“There is enough food and water. Let’s leave right away.”

Zigg already had plenty of things he needed to survive in his inventory.

The four people quickly finished preparing and ran out of the village toward the wasteland.

There was endless hot sunlight and a dry wasteland stretching out endlessly.

Karus who had the weakest stamina naturally got tired first.

“Ugh. Zeke. How about we rest for a bit before we go?”

Although Karus was the type of person who would rarely ask to rest first while they were together the wasteland of the lawless zone was just as murderous.

Zeke turned on the map and looked for a place to rest for a while.

Zig who had finally found a shady hill took a short break with his companions.

Zeke took out food and water from his inventory and handed them over.

Boris said as he looked at such a zeke.

“Every time I look at it I feel like the boss’s subspace artifact really holds a lot of items.”

I couldn’t explain the inventory so I remembered saying that it was an ancient relic with spatial magic.

    Zeke answered Boris’s words naturally.

“That’s why money is good Boris.”

    “also.”

Boris nodded convinced by Zeke’s words.

As I was taking a short break like that I saw a cloud of dust blowing in the distance.

Zeke and Simon stood up from their seats alert.

Zeke looked at the approaching group with his eyes wide open.

    ‘A bunch of outlaws?’

Simon’s expression hardened as he described the impressions of the crowd he saw.

“They are famous bounty hunters in the lawless zone. It seems that the Empire has been spreading information about the prince not only to Salmak but also to the outlaws.”

Boris joined Simon’s words and took a stand.

Karus who was behind also stood guard with a crossbow.

    Doo doo doo doo!

A dozen or so men on horseback were seen galloping towards Zeke’s group with their weapons drawn.

“There’s a hundred thousand gold coins over there! Grab them!”

    The bounty hunters ran excitedly.

Then Zeke shouted to Simon and Boris.

    “Close your eyes!”

Then he fired his flashbang skill at the bounty hunters.

    Flash!

A huge flash of light struck the bounty hunters’ corneas.

    “Kwaaak!”

While Zeke guarded Karus Boris and Simon stepped forward to take out the bounty hunters.

    Chomp!

Since Boris was a Blue Knight and Simon had similar skills they could easily deal with the outlaws who had lost their eyesight.

When Simon and Boris returned after dealing with all the outlaws Zeke said:

“We have to hurry. If there’s a bounty of a hundred thousand gold most of the lawless outlaws in the Lawless Zone will rush to attack us.”

Zeke and his party got back on their horses and started galloping through the wasteland.

As he expected outlaws appeared all over the wasteland chasing them.

Most of them were just long-winded people so they were resolved through Boris and Simon.

Zeke checked the map as he watched Boris and Simon return from dealing with the outlaws.

‘We still have half a day to go to the tunnel and I don’t know if Karus’s stamina will hold up.’

Karus was already mentally and physically exhausted.

Simon and Boris who couldn’t sleep properly and kept moving were also in bad condition.

Zeke decided that he couldn’t move any further and looked for a place to rest.

    “Make camp here.”

Zig dug a space under a large rock and pitched a tent to provide shelter from the sunlight.

Karus already exhausted immediately collapsed and fell asleep.

Zeke said to Boris and Simon.

“I’ll keep watch so get some sleep.”

Boris and Simon lay down next to Chuck Carus and closed their eyes amazed at Zeke’s incredible stamina.

Zeke replenished his mental and physical strength by binge eating the Croken Legs he had set aside.

Then he summoned the chimera Gurav.

Gurav summoned from Zeke’s shadow came out for the first time in a long while and was running around blushing and laughing excitedly.

“If you see anyone suspicious while playing around Gurav bite them. If they don’t die bring them to me.”

    Kieeeeee―

Gurav was running around the wasteland excitedly.

    But then it happened.

    “Kwaaak!”

Not long after they were released Gurabu came asking about a suspicious man.

Zig looked at the guy that Gurav had asked about.

    “Ugh.”

As ordered the breath had not yet been cut off.

Zeke inspected the suspicious man’s belongings.

And I found out his identity.

‘You’re the hound of the empire.’
