A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 91
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 91
“Over there! Stop it!”
The Knights of the Red Lion who followed Abel drew their swords and blocked the road.
If we delayed here the special forces and Abel would show up later.
Zeke shouted at Boris.
“If I open the way take the prince and get out of here!”
Zeke put the prince on Boris’ horse.
As Boris rode his horse out of the hotel Zeke drew his sword.
Woohoo!
Elemental power surged into Zeke’s sword.
He concentrated the power of the wind.
Hooooooooooo!
Soon a huge storm arose around Zeke and Zeke swung his storm sword at the Red Lion Knights.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The knights could not see clearly due to the strong gust of wind.
Boris who was carrying Karus ran forward along the wind path that Zeke had made.
Zeke followed swinging his sword at the flustered Red Lion Knights.
bang!
The knights who collided with Zig’s sword filled with golden power were blown away.
“Kwaaah!”
Zeke took out a potion of ‘Deep Breath of the Flame Giant’ from his inventory.
Whoosh!
As soon as the potion was thrown white flames flew out from there and a huge wall of fire appeared in front of the hotel.
The knights were confused and wandered around unable to overcome the wall of fire.
“Damn it! Unleash your Auror Blade!”
The blue knights gathered forward unfurling their auror blades to quell the flames.

But the deep breath of the ancient potion the Fire Giant did not go out to that extent.
The knights hesitated and could not advance further due to the flames that felt like their entire bodies would turn into charcoal just by approaching them.
That was when.
Phew!
Before we knew it Abel was jumping into the air towards the fire.
At the same time he swung his sword towards the flame giant’s deep breath.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The wall of flames split apart like a waterfall.
Abel stood before the parted wall of fire and shouted to the knights.
“Divide the Knights of the Red Lion into two. One side will go with me to the terminal and the port! The other side will go with the special forces and pursue the attackers!”
* * *
Doo doo doo doo!
Zeke and Boris ran into the forest to escape their pursuers.
When the magnificent cityscape disappeared from view Zeke asked Boris.
“Is there a way to get directly to the Central Continent from here?”
Boris shook his head at that question.
“It’s hard to find a direct route that avoids Abel Draker and the Imperial Special Forces.”
“Is there another route?”
Boris hesitated for a moment and then slowly opened his mouth.
“There are two ways. The first is to go north of the kingdom and cross the central sea to the northern continent. However this method requires going up the coast and there is a high risk of being discovered by enemies.”
“Another way.”
“This is a way to get to the Southern Continent by going through the Forest of Demons going to the south of the Kingdom and crossing the Sea of Death. From the Southern Continent you can take the portal to the Central Continent. However this method carries the threat of demons.”
“Going south.”
Zeke chose to enter the Forest of Demons without hesitation.
The decision was made that it would be better to deal with demons than with knights.
Boris gave a low groan and nodded.
“All right.”
He turned his horse’s head and guided Zeke in the direction of the forest of demons.
Karus sitting behind Boris had a pale face and said nothing.
Zeke approached Karus and handed him a potion.
“Drink it. It will warm you up a little.”
Karus took the potion that Zeke handed him with trembling hands and drank it down.
After drinking the stamina recovery potion some color returned to Karus’ face.
“…It’s much better than before. Thank you Sir Zeke.”
Zeke was surprised by Karus’ words.
“How did you know I was Zeke Draker?”
“Carus said taking a deep breath.

“I never forget what I’ve seen. Your voice and your distinctive accent can’t be hidden no matter how hard you try.”
‘Did you follow me obediently because you knew I was Zeke Draker?’
I just thought he was a prodigal prince but it seems that wasn’t necessarily the case.
Zeke said to Karus.
“Your Majesty the situation is quite dangerous.”
Karus nodded at Zeke’s words.
“If Julius and Abel are targeting me at the same time then I should consider the entire Central Continent as my enemy.”
At those words Zeke shook his head.
“Not necessarily. If you go to Midland and enter Kali Draker’s domain your highness’s safety will be guaranteed.”
“Kali Draker. The Silver Knight. Is she helping me?”
“It was Kali Draker who sent me here.”
“I can trust you Silver Knight. Sir Zeke. Can you get me there safely?”
Zeke nodded.
“I will do my best. Your Majesty I know it will be difficult for you but you must follow my instructions carefully.”
That’s when something clicked with Zeke’s senses.
“Take Your Majesty and stand in the back. I will take the front.”
Zeke stepped forward holding his sword.
Then something fell from the tree.
“Kaaaah!”
A demon that looked like a giant flying squirrel rushed towards Zeke.
Zeke swung his sword and cut down the flying squirrel.
[You have killed a creature infected with magic.]
[You earn 10 Karma Points.]
As Zeke had expected we were able to obtain karma points by defeating the demon.
‘Good. I guess I can score some points here.’
Boris said to Zeke.
“Boss you can’t ride a horse from here on out.”
Zeke decided to get off his horse and walk into the forest as Boris had suggested.
Kyaaaaah!
The deeper we went into the forest the more demons rushed at us.
Zig headed beyond the forest slashing away at the demons rushing from the trees with his sword.
It was a distance that would take at least two days to walk so it was important to conserve my stamina.
Zeke took out the food and water he had stored in his inventory and shared them with Boris and Karus while he himself endured by absorbing the demons that had died from overeating.
Then a long ominous sound echoed through the forest.
Kyaaaaah!
A flock of ominous-looking birds circled above the forest their cries like tearing screams.
“Something about the atmosphere of the forest has changed.”
Boris replied to that.
“It looks like our pursuers have chased us into the forest.”
It seemed like the knights were making a lot of noise through the forest in search of Karus.
Boris’ expression became even worse after he finished speaking.
“Boss we’d better get through the forest quickly. If we continue like this the swamp master will show up and we’ll be in big trouble.”
“Master of the swamp?”
At that moment a huge roar was heard from deep within the forest.
Gooooooooooooo!
The entire forest seemed to shake just from the howling.
Boris’s face turned white.
“I am the master of the swamp. The Dortans never venture deep into the forest of the Demonic Beasts for fear of incurring the wrath of the master of the swamp.”
Judging from Boris’s reaction it seemed like he wasn’t an ordinary devil.
Zeke nodded.
“Boris you take His Majesty first and go inside. I will lure the pursuers somewhere else.”
“All right.”
* * *
“What are you doing now?”
Low Siemens one of the captains of the Red Lion Knights spoke to the special agent in a chilling voice.
Then Daewon said to Lowe.
“I said it was dangerous to go through this forest so it was better to take a detour.”
Lowe spoke to the crew.
“And if they arrive first and leave on a smuggling ship will the special forces take responsibility?”
Daewon couldn’t give much of a response to Lowe’s words.
He spoke as if he was shouting at the special agent.
“We should pursue them quickly unless we wish to report to the Consul that we have lost Karus.”
After hearing Lowe’s words the special agents ground their teeth and looked for a way into the forest of demons.
Since this accident happened before Carus was handed over to Abel’s side the responsibility still lay with the Empire.
Because of that even though the Red Lion Knights were acting stiff the special forces had no choice but to follow their orders.
‘Damn it. Why did it have to be the Demon’s Forest?’
The Forest of Demons was not as well known as the ‘Forest of the Forgotten’ a forbidden area in the Central Continent but it was just as dangerous.
As the Information Agency is an intelligence agency it conducts investigations of the area before carrying out missions so it knew very well how terrifying the Forest of Demons was.
Unlike the special forces who moved cautiously the Red Lion Knights led by Lowe were advancing through the forest without hesitation.
The special agents were anxious that the master of the swamp might wake up but they could not stop the actions of the Red Lion Knights.
At that moment demons appeared in front of the pursuing party.
Wow! Wow!
It was a huge demon that looked like a bear but was definitely not a bear.
“Devil Bear! Spread out and fight!”
The special agents tried to deal with the Devil Bear by keeping their distance.
However the Red Lion Knights drew their swords without hesitation and plunged them into the Devil Bear’s body.
The Devil Bear fell in an instant.
Looking at this the special forces leader broke out in a cold sweat.
‘They dealt with the Devil Bear so easily. Drake’s knights are truly scary.’
They continued into the forest destroying the demons like that.
Then at one moment
Gooooooooooooo!
A howling sound was heard from afar. The special forces leader’s face turned pale.
“Damn it. The master of the swamp has awakened.”
At those words Lowe asked the captain.
“It’s a shame for the special forces to be so scared of something like the devil.”
Lowe ignored the task force leader’s warning and went deeper inside.
But strangely the further inside we went the more the attacking demons were no longer visible.
The special forces leader sensed something strange.
‘There’s no way the forest can be this quiet.’
Then one of the knights touched the installed scroll.
Kwakwakwang!
The entire forest shook as the explosive scroll exploded.
Lowe shouted to the knights in surprise.
“Prepare for the raid!”
In the smoke Zeke hid and slashed the knights’ ankles with his dagger.
“Kwaaak!”
The knights who had let their guard down were helpless against Zeke’s attacks.
Lowe shouted.
“Step back and get a clear view!”
But it was already too late.
Zeke’s sword was faster.
Crunch!
His sword cut off the heads of the knights.
Law gnashed his teeth and raised his Auror Blade.
“Chahaaaat!”
Zeke threw a dagger filled with gold power at Lowe.
visor!
Lowe who had struck out a heavy dagger charged towards Zeke without stopping.
Zeke unleashed a hydraulic field towards Lowe.
Elemental Sword
The hydraulic field
Wave Sword
Zig’s sword strike which surged forward like a tidal wave deflected Law’s sword and created a huge wave that pushed Law back.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The pushed row hit a tree. The forest swept away by the wave.
“Cough!”
Lowe was so shocked that he couldn’t control his body properly vomiting blood.
The special agents who had been keeping a distance from behind threw chains at Zeke.
Chorrrrrr!
The special agents who had succeeded in wrapping his limbs with chains tried to block his movements by pulling on him from all sides.
But once Zeke wrapped himself in gold power the chains could no longer be used to seal Zeke.
Rather when Zeke grabbed the chain the special forces came running.
“Ugh! What power!”
It was when Zeke quickly subdued both the Red Lion Knights and the special forces.
Suddenly the forest floor became strange.
Ssssssss!
The once perfectly clean floor turned into a swamp.
The special forces leader shouted in surprise.
“Climb up the tree right now!”
The special agents who realized what was happening quickly came to their senses and climbed up the tree but the Red Lion Knights could not do so.
“Eww!”
Most of them floundered and ended up falling into the swamp.
“Save me!”
The knights who had fallen into the muddy swamp tried to use their auras to somehow get out but it was no use.
The more they struggled the more the swamp sucked the knights in with its power.
“Eww!”
In the end all the knights who were unable to climb up the tree disappeared into the swamp.
Lowe who had been leaning against the tree came to his senses and barely managed to climb up onto the tree next to him.
Then he broke out in a cold sweat when he saw that all his men had fallen into the swamp.
“What the heck is this?”
The special forces leader shouted gritting his teeth.
“The master of this damn swamp has appeared! We need to get out of here quickly!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A sound of something huge approaching was heard from across the forest.
