    Episode 90

The Altara Casino which Muhammad guided was famous for being the largest and most splendid in the Republic of Dorta.

Zeke and Payne were escorted to a suite at the Altara Casino Hotel.

“Please think of it as Sir Jik’s home and use it comfortably.”

    Muhammad said with a smile.

    Then he whispered to Zeke.

“I’ve also taken care of what Sir Zik mentioned earlier.”

Zik expressed his gratitude to Muhammad.

The next morning a man came up to the room where Zeke was.

It was none other than the Black Yacha who crossed over to the Republic of Dorta from the south.

What Zeke asked Muhammad was to bring an unidentified black yak into the Altara Casino.

Even though it was a top-tier casino and the identification requirements were very strict Muhammad specially granted Zeke’s request.

The Black Yaksha greeted Zigg and said:

“It’s been a while Black Yaksha. Well I guess I should call you Boris now. Is the South okay?”

Zigg called the Black Yacha by his new identity.

Boris answered with a blank expression.

    “it’s okay.”

He seemed to have had a harder time under Simon than when he was a Continental public servant in Delphos.

    Zeke said to Boris.

“I think you have a rough idea of what the situation is.”

    Boris nodded.

“Yes. I heard there was a deal between the Empire and Abel Draker.”

“Yes. Has there ever been a deal of this scale before?”

    Boris shook his head.

“As far as I know none.”

    Zeke’s eyes changed.

“What that means is that Abel Draker’s relationship with the Empire is special.”

“It’s more than that. We rarely do deals like this even with our allies.”

It was surprising that an empire with little trade between nations would make such a large deal with an individual named Abel Drake.

‘Not only Abel but Siemens must have been involved in something as well.’

Zeke was still concerned that Cain had both the Siemens name and the imperial family name.

“Is there a separate connection between Siemens and the Imperial Family?”

“I don’t know about the Imperial side but I understand that there are quite a few business partnerships between Siemens and the Empire.”

    “Hmm.”

Zeke explained the plan of operation to Boris.

“There will be a celebratory banquet at the casino starting tomorrow. You should attend the banquet and blend in. And if you see anyone from the Empire check them out.”

    “All right.”

After Boris joined Zeke started working in earnest.

Payne and Boris installed eavesdropping circles throughout the casino.

It took a long time to install as it was double and triple-secured to prevent the Imperial wizards from discovering it.

And from the next day onwards a sumptuous banquet hosted by the Zayed family was held at the casino.

    Thump thump thump!

Muhammad knew how to have fun. He rented out the entire basement club of the hotel and brought all the young rich people of the Republic of Dorta together.

As the main character of the banquet Zeke drank and played with them.

I pretended to be drunk but thanks to the healing factor I wasn’t drunk at all.

Zeke continued to monitor Abel and the Empire’s movements while dealing with the children of influential families in the Republic of Dorta who wanted to associate with him.

It was the second day after the banquet had started.

-“The Master Imperial Intelligence Agency Special Forces have appeared.”

Zeke who heard Boris’ report through communication magic looked around nervously.

When I used the dragon’s eyes I saw several people who were clearly different.

The Imperial Special Forces were elite agents who had also completed special training at the Intelligence Agency.

‘The fact that even the special forces came out means that the imperial consuls have taken action.’

The consuls were the most powerful figures in the empire directly running the empire under the emperor.

The Imperial Task Force operated solely on the orders of these Consuls.

‘This deal might be bigger than we thought.’

Zeke pretended not to care about the special forces and just laughed and drank with the young rich men.

    * * *

“They said Zeke Draker was down there.”

    William said to Abel.

At those words Abel looked at William and said.

“I think you came because of our deal.”

    William shook his head.

“I heard that the Zayed family invited you. It makes sense since you’re the winner of the martial arts tournament.”

Abel said sitting in front of William.

“The Zayed family. There’s no way Zeke would have enough power to move that family. Maybe Kali could.”

William was startled by those words.

“No way? No matter what it’s the Zayed family. Even if it’s Kali Draker it’s not something you can deal with so easily.”

Abel glared at William and said.

“William I always say you lack imagination. That’s why you can’t take on Carly Draker.”

William remained silent at Abel’s words.

    Abel asked tapping the desk.

“Is it possible to change the meeting location?”

    Then William looked embarrassed.

“If we suddenly change the meeting location it will upset the Empire. It may also make us look unprepared.”

Abel wanted to move the meeting place to another place but as William said given the Empire’s tendencies it was unlikely to produce a good response.

Moreover the counterparty in this deal was none other than Julius one of the most powerful consuls in the empire.

‘It must be quite difficult to deal with that stubborn old lady.’

As Abel made a pained face William looked at his watch and said.

“There isn’t much time left before the butler arrives. It’s practically impossible to move the meeting location now.”

    Abel nodded to William’s words.

“The meeting will proceed as scheduled. Instead place more security personnel around the area and tell the wizards to check for wiretapping devices more thoroughly.”

    Abel felt strangely uneasy.

As William said there was nothing strange about the winner of the martial arts tournament but the very fact that Zeke was in the casino at this time felt somewhat uneasy.

‘It’s too much to say it was just a coincidence…’

    That was when.

    “The butler has arrived.”

The butler’s arrival was quicker than expected.

Abel and William went down to the conference room they had prepared in advance.

As they waited Julius entered escorted by the special forces.

Julius dressed in imperial attire was an old man with a sharp beak and sharp features.

Although he was old he was large in stature and his whole body radiated a majestic aura.

Abel looked at Julius and admired him.

‘As befitting a war hero of the Empire.’

Julius was not a black knight but he was a great general of the empire with excellent tactics and leadership.

At the same time he was known as the only person in the current empire who could control the emperor.

Julius approached Abel and asked to shake his hand first.

“Good to meet you. It is an honor to see Draker’s Lion Sword in person.”

Abel also took Julius’ hand and greeted him.

“I have heard of your reputation butler. It is an honor to meet the hero.”

After exchanging greetings the two sat down.

As soon as Julius sat down he got straight to the point.

“I think the Lion Sword is well aware of the situation. Concerns about Karus are growing.”

    Abel nodded at those words.

“I know. I have a deep friendship with His Majesty Karus but I believe it is time to make a major decision for the safety and future of the Empire.”

    * * *

While enjoying the banquet Zik sent a signal to Muhammad.

Muhammad pretended to be very drunk and dragged Zeke into the VVIP room.

There was a secret passageway in the VVIP room so you could go up to your room without being noticed by others.

‘This should be enough of an alibi to avoid Abel’s suspicion.’

Zeke who had come up to the room through the secret passage listened to the listening device together with Payne.

Zig’s expression gradually hardened as he heard the details of the deal.

The Consul and Abel were discussing the complex power relations of the empire.

It was about electing the next emperor after the current emperor died but it seemed to be a problem because the votes of the first and second in line for the imperial succession were not much different.

Moreover there was concern that the votes for the second-ranking prince supported by Julius would be split again with Carus.

In the end Karus was quite a headache for the supporters of the Second Prince including Julius.

The problem was that Karus was the most legitimate of all the princes.

Since there was a possibility of internal strife in the empire if they directly dealt with Carus Julius decided to take the risk and meet with Abel to make a deal.

Payne said looking at Zeke with a stern expression.

“Master this is… not an ordinary thing….”

Zeke put his finger to his lips signaling to Payne not to speak any more.

    ‘It’s bigger than I expected.’

This was something that the imperial consul personally took action against.

The deal was that the Consul would task Abel with dealing with the Imperial Prince and in return he would provide resources to persuade the Draker elders.

If this information were made public it would clearly create a huge scandal.

    Zeke asked Boris quickly.

    ―“Is Prince Karus here too?”

―“I’m not sure if it’s the prince but there is a place that is being guarded tightly by the special forces.”

Zeke recalled the Third Continental War of his previous life.

‘It is clear that Karus did not die and led the battlefield together with Abel.’

In my previous life I thought Karus was crazy about blood and madness but seeing this situation makes me think that he might have been dragged to Abel and Siemens and brainwashed.

    He said to Payne.

“Sir Paynen take these records to Muhammad and go to Jason immediately. I will ask Agamemnon to provide escort. These records must be handed over directly to Kali Draker.”

“Okay Master aren’t you going with us?”

“I will take Prince Karus with me.”

Payne’s face hardened at Zeke’s words.

Because I had a feeling that this incident could spread to shake the entire continent.

    “Please be careful.”

After Payne left Zeke contacted Agamemnon.

Then I put Bahamut in my inventory and grabbed the other sword and dagger.

He came out through the hotel window wearing a mask.

    Whee!

Zeke who had created the power of the wind and climbed over the hotel wall looked for a place where Prince Karus might be with his eyes.

And then we found a VIP room filled with what appeared to be other special forces.

    ‘I think it’s over there.’

Zeke went up to the VIP room and entered through the window there.

Then I used the stealth skill I had acquired when I captured the kingdom previously.

As if the country had become one with the darkness and disappeared Zig’s body seeped into the darkness.

‘It was a good thing I overate the country back then.’

Zeke went past the special forces and into the room hiding behind the ceiling.

Soon a loud noise could be heard coming from inside the room.

“You insolent bastards! Get out of the way immediately!”

Karus shouted at the task force.

However special forces agents were preventing Karus from leaving.

Karus gritted his teeth and threw objects from the room at the special forces agents.

“How dare you stop me! Get out of my way right now! Can’t you hear the call from that casino?”

He was throwing a tantrum about wanting to go to the casino and play games.

Zeke looked around the layout of the room.

‘I can’t see any way out.’

The deal between Abel and the Imperial Consul was uncertain. Now was the only time to escape with Karus.

    Zeke took a deep breath.

And then he waited for the angry Karus to come into the room.

“You rude bastards! As soon as you return to the Empire…!”

    Whoosh!

Zeke came down from the ceiling and immediately grabbed Karus.

Then he drew his sword filled it with golden power and struck the wall.

    Kwakwakwakwang!

A large hole was blown in the hotel wall.

Zeke jumped into the hole with Karus in his arms.

    “Kkaaaak!”

Karus who was stuck at Zeke’s side screamed.

    Wheeeeeek!

Zig whose falling speed was slowed by the power of the wind fell straight into the hotel garden.

―“Boris! Come out and set off a smoke bomb in the casino!”

At his command Boris activated the scroll of smoke grenades he had installed in advance.

    Pusheeeek!

The casino and the entire hotel were filled with smoke.

    “Fire!”

Other people thought there was a fire and ran around trying to get out.

Because of this the special forces were also blocked by other people and could not easily get out.

    A masked Zeke grabbed Karus.

    “Who who are you?”

“Your Majesty listen carefully to what I say. Julius and Abel are trying to kill you right now.”

    “Carus said in surprise.

“What do you mean? Julius is my loyal subject and Abel is my close friend!”

“If it is as Your Majesty said then why did the special forces forcibly detain Your Majesty?”

Karus’ face hardened at Zeke’s words.

He too had been feeling something strange since he arrived in Dorta.

It felt more like they were holding him back rather than escorting him so he wouldn’t escape.

‘Could it really be that Julius and Abel…?’

    Zeke spoke urgently to Karus.

“If you stay here you will either die or be brainwashed. We need to move to a safe place so follow me.”

Karus still looked incredulous but decided to follow him for now.

At that moment Boris came out from inside driving his horse.

“Boss! We have to get out quickly.”

As Zeke and Boris were about to leave the hotel together the knights who had been waiting outside came running towards Zeke.

They were none other than Abel’s knights.
