A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 89
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 89
Zeke looked surprised at Carly’s words.
“Are you talking about Abel’s deal with the Empire?”
She nodded.
“Yes. We have intelligence coming in. It looks like Abel is going to make a big deal with the Empire. I don’t know exactly what it is but it seems to be related to the card he’s going to hand to the elders to get the Guardian Knight title this time.”
Zeke asked after hearing Carly’s words.
“Would you please entrust me with such an important mission?”
“Abel is already on edge with our side. If one of us leaves he might cancel the deal right away. But it’s hard to entrust such an important task to another ordinary knight.”
Zeke was troubled by Kali’s words.
‘If I take on this mission I will truly become Kali Draker’s man.’
As the winner of the martial arts tournament Zeke was certain to enter the Four Seasons Castle.
The Four Seasons is the collective body of the Draker clan.
It was a place where high-ranking politicians and lords of noble families from all over the continent flocked.
To survive here you need strong connections.
In that respect Kali Draker was enough of a strong shield to protect Zeke as the first in line for the family lineage who received the title of Guardian Knight.
‘The problem is that a few years later Sister Carly is killed by the Pirate King.’
There were already more than a few things that had changed since he returned to the past.
Considering the situation Zeke decided that he could intervene in the confrontation between Carly and the Pirate King to save her.
‘If my older sister can stop Abel and safely succeed to the throne she can prevent the Third Continental War caused by the Empire.’
If that happened Zeke could have focused more on training to become the best on the continent.
The cleanest way would have been to formally challenge Kali after gaining power beyond that of the Black Knight and take the throne thereby becoming the absolute ruler.
‘I don’t want to reign over Atlas which has been ruined by war with the Empire.’
After thinking about it Zeke answered Carly.
“Okay Sister. I will take on that mission.”
Carly looked surprised at Zeke’s calm words.
It wasn’t an easy task to decide but surprisingly Zeke gave an answer right away.

“Are you sure you can take care of it?”
Zeke nodded.
“Yes. When would you like to leave?”
Carly said sorting out her expression.
“There will be a deal at the casino in the Republic of Dorta in a week.”
“Then I guess we’d better leave quickly. Okay. But I have a favor to ask for this mission.”
“What is it? Tell me.”
“I need someone to invite me from the Republic of Dorta. It’s for the sake of a traveling party for the champion of the martial arts tournament.”
Carly nodded at those words.
“So you mean to hide the mission by formally inviting me?”
“Yes. It would be difficult to enter the casino of the Republic of Dorta without knowing my identity. However if I do Abel’s side will hear about it anyway since I am the winner of the martial arts tournament. In that case it would be better to accept an invitation and go to the Republic of Dorta. However since I have declined all invitations so far I need an invitation from a key figure in Dorta.”
“Understood. I will contact Dorta and select suitable people to invite.”
“Thank you sis.”
Helen who was standing next to him said to Zeke.
“Zig Dorta may look flashy and fun on the outside but it’s full of demons. You have to be on your guard at all times.”
Zeke smiled bitterly inwardly at Helen’s words.
In his previous life Zeke was a hitman for the Southern Cartel and ran a casino in the Republic of Dorta.
In order to launder the McCain Cartel’s money he took over several hotels in the Republic of Dorta operated auction houses and gambling halls there and laundered the money from the sale of soma.
Since Zeke was more deeply involved in the underworld than anyone else he knew very well what Helen’s concerns meant.
“Thank you Sir Helen. I will take those words to heart.”
“One more thing.”
“Please speak.”
Helen said to Zeke.
“…Please feel free to talk to me too.”
Helen blushed slightly perhaps embarrassed even after saying it.
Zeke nodded with a smirk.
“Okay Sister Helen.”
It was Helen who showed a satisfied expression only after hearing the answer.

The next day an invitation arrived for Zeke from the Republic of Dorta.
Zeke was surprised when he saw the invitation.
“The Zayed family? Oh my goodness an invitation came directly from the wealthiest family in the Republic of Dorta?”
The Republic of Dorta is famous for its auction houses and casinos but it is also famous for producing magic stones.
The Zayed family owned the underwater magic stone mines of the Dorta Republic which supplied 70% of the magic stone supplied to the continent.
The fact that she was able to move the Zayed family once again made me feel the immense influence of Kali Draker.
Zeke nodded at the invitation.
“If it is Zayed’s invitation then the other families who have declined the invitation will understand.”

Then Decker approached Zeke.
“Your Majesty. All the documents required to use the portal have been issued.”
Zeke received the Drake Knight entry and exit pass that Decker gave him.
“Thank you Decker. When did you say we had to get to the terminal?”
“You have to leave soon because we have to start work tonight.”
The large portal only operated twice a day.
Besides the portal to the Republic of Dorta would have to wait three more days if we missed it this evening.
If you’re unlucky it will take longer than going by boat.
‘When I think about it that way the system portal function is really fraudulent.’
Of course there were many limitations and it required a lot of karma points but being able to move to any location you wanted at any time was a huge advantage.
Zeke was once again impressed by the system and moved towards the waiting carriage.
When I went outside I saw Pharrell training Liam and Felix in the garden.
“Okay! One more time!”
Farel was a full knight of the ancient kingdom of Thebes a Blue Knight and a direct descendant of the prestigious noble family of Acilius.
As he was also a famous traditional swordsman he was a perfect fit to teach the two Purple Knights.
Zeke had asked Farrell for special training.
Felix gasped for breath making a death sound.
“Ugh uh. Sir Farrell. If you do this any more I think I’ll die.”
Then Liam took up his sword first and struck.
Felix followed Liam shivering and crying as he saw him.
“Eww! Liam! Seriously stop it now!”
Zeke looked at the two men and said to Decker.
“Tell Sir Farel to let Felix roll a little longer.”
“Understood my lord.”
Zeke looked blankly at Decker who answered politely and then said.
“And think again about returning as a Decker Knight. I need someone I can trust and be great at.”
Decker nodded in response to those words.
“Thank you for your words my lord. However I am too rusty to be called a knight.”
“Hmm.”
Far from rusting the blade was still sharp and green.
But Zeke nodded at Decker who again refused his request.
“Okay but when things get urgent Decker will have to step in too.”
“All right.”
After that conversation Zeke was escorted back to the carriage by Decker.
Perhaps because he had raised him since his previous life he seemed to unknowingly act spoiled in front of Decker.
‘By the way it seems like you have a crush on the sword but I don’t know why you’re so stubborn. Is there some reason I don’t know about?’
Zig headed to the terminal while thinking about various things in the carriage.
When he arrived at the terminal there was someone waiting for him.
“Welcome Master.”
It was Payne dressed in a suit.
Because Zeke had appointed Paynon as his companion for this mission.
After checking in for the VIP course at the terminal the two waited for a while in the lounge.
“Lord Paynen. Is this your first time in the Republic of Dorta?”
Payne shook his head.
“I often go to Dorta to get items needed for research. This is my first time going through a portal like this.”
At that moment an announcement came on.
“The portal to the Republic of Dorta will open soon. Users are requested to descend the portal shuttle and take their seats.”
Zeke and Payne took their first class seats on the portal shuttle using the passageway connected to the lounge.
Top-quality leather seats and a variety of wines were provided.
Zig who was sitting on his seat and eating the peanuts provided felt the magical power around him shaking.
‘Wow that’s amazing.’
Soon magical power spread through the magic circle surrounding the shuttle and a large portal opened.
The shuttle slowly entered the portal.
Ddddddddd!
I felt a slight vibration.
And soon the shuttle stopped and the portal slowly closed.
“You have arrived in the Republic of Dorta. Enjoy your trip.”
People started to move busily and Zeke and Payne also got off the shuttle and went out of the terminal.
As I came out of the terminal I saw an incredibly fancy carriage waiting for me.
It was a golden chariot drawn by six double-humped camels adorned with various ornaments.
Zeke’s expression darkened when he saw the carriage.
‘no way?’
“Sir Zeke Draker!”
At that moment a typical Dortain man wearing a turban white clothes and all sorts of ornaments made of expensive magic stones approached Zig.
He checked on Zeke and hugged him.
“Welcome! Welcome!”
It was a fairly natural continental common language.
Zig answered him in Dortha.
“Thank you for your hospitality.”
Dortain was surprised when Zig spoke to him in Dortha.
“My goodness! You know Dortha! May the Earth God bless you Sir Zig!”
He led Zeke into the golden carriage while praying loudly.
Only after sitting in the carriage did Dortain introduce himself.
“A late introduction. My name is Mohammed bin Abu Dhabi Zayed. I am the second son of the Zayed family.”
Zeke was surprised by those words. He had guessed something from the extravagant carriage but he had not expected that a direct descendant of the Zayed family would come out to greet him.
He said looking at Zeke.
“First of all congratulations on winning the Draker Martial Arts Tournament. The fact that the winner Lord Zeke accepted the invitation of the Zayed family will further enhance the family’s reputation.”
“The shining glory of the Zayed family is known to all the continents.”
“As expected Sir Zeke is an honorable knight. This Muhammad. I am touched.”
After the formal greeting Muhammad’s expression suddenly changed.
“I heard from Carly Draker.”
At those words Zeke also straightened his posture.
“Then I don’t need to explain it at length. I think it would be good if Mr. Muhammad could help me find a casino where we can do business in advance.”
Then Muhammad smiled and waved his hand.
“Sir Zeke I know it’s presumptuous of you to ask but there’s no need for that.”
“What do you mean?”
Muhammad said with a slight smile.
“No casino in the Republic of Dorta can escape the Zayed family in any way.”
Zik understood what Muhammad was saying to some extent.
‘Even when I was running a casino during the cartel era there were a lot of problems because of them. Those who received money from Zayed’s side would raid so many times.’
This was actually the reason why Don Juan sent Zeke to Dorta’s casino.
After Zeke was deployed the men who attacked were killed one by one and hung in front of Zayed’s mansion and only then did they propose a ceasefire.
It was understandable that the Zayed family richer than the emperor of the empire in terms of money alone would show such confidence.
Zik said to Muhammad.
“Very well. The one here Paynen is a great wizard. We will place a bugging spell on the meeting place where the Empire will be holding the meeting.”
It wasn’t for nothing that Zeke brought Payne.
He wanted to find evidence that Abel was trying to break the Draker family’s pledge of neutrality by making a deal with the Empire.
To do this they installed a wiretapping device in advance and tried to leave it as evidence.
Muhammad smiled revealing his white teeth.
“That’s not a problem at all. Don’t worry.”
“And I have one more favor to ask.”
“What is it? Just tell me.”
Zik whispered lowly to Muhammad.
Muhammad was astonished when he heard Zik’s story.
“That that….”
“Please do so.”
Muhammad nodded looking slightly embarrassed.
“Okay I understand. Since it is a request from Sir Zeke I will do my best.”
“Thank you Muhammad.”
Zeke turned his head and looked out the carriage window.
The magnificent carriage was passing through the wasteland of the Republic of Dorta and entering the magnificent city.
Dorta known as a place without night was filled with splendid lights.
Zik sharpened his mind as he looked out at the magnificent view.
