A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 83
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 83
After finishing the first round of the main tournament Zeke and his party returned to Atlas’ mansion.
When Zeke heard from Reina that the second round of the main tournament was a tightrope wrestling match and told Pharrell about it his expression became serious.
“It’s tightrope wrestling…”
In response Zeke asked Farrell.
“Sir Farrell is there a problem with the tightrope wrestling event?”
Then Farrell shook his head.
“No Sir Zeke. There is nothing wrong with the sport of tightrope wrestling itself. It’s just that I’m concerned that Siemens chose this sport.”
Tightrope wrestling itself is not a sport with particularly complicated rules.
It was a game where two people would fight on a rope and the one who could hold on to it would win.
In some ways it was a sport where one could fully demonstrate one’s skills as an unmanned athlete.
Just then Catherine came into the drawing room.
“It just so happens that everyone is gathered here.”
Catherine sat down with the aforementioned expression on her face.
She told Zeke.
“I found out about the second round events.”
Then Felix who was standing next to her said to Catherine.
“Catherine I already found out the event for the second round from Rayna Draker. It’s tightrope wrestling.”
Catherine nodded as if she had expected Felix to say that.
“It is tightrope wrestling. But it is not just tightrope wrestling.”
Zeke was startled by those words.
“What do you mean it’s not just a tightrope wrestling match?”
“They say the match will be held as a group tightrope wrestling match.”
“Group tightrope wrestling?”
Even for Farrell who had watched the Drake Martial Arts Tournament many times this was the first time he had heard of the sport.
Catherine took out a piece of paper.

There was a picture drawn on the paper.
It was a scene where ropes were hung in all directions between the walls and people were fighting each other with swords on top of them.
Farrell looked at the picture and his expression hardened.
“This is… clearly a game where the more people on the same side the more advantageous it is.”
Zeke also nodded at Farrell’s words.
Tightrope wrestling is a competition between two people on a rope but when it is conducted as a team competition the team with fewer members has to face off against multiple people and if they break the rope with the expectation that they will all be eliminated it is difficult to move to another rope.
This meant that if Siemens’ collaborators all rushed to Sieg at once and cut all the ropes around him he would also have a hard time holding on.
Farrell who had grasped the situation ground his teeth.
“It must have been a sudden change of subject. If we had a one-on-one fight I don’t think I could handle Sir Zick.”
If Siemens had prepared it was clear that there would have been several other unfavorable rules for Sieg and his group.
But then Catherine unfolded her fan and smiled.
“Don’t worry too much Sir Zeke.”
Zeke looked at Catherine with a puzzled expression.
“Lady Catherine. Is there any other way?”
Catherine said waving her fan.
“If you don’t use the sponsoring family in times like this where else would you use it? Haha.”
Catherine smiled leisurely and whispered something to Zeke and his group.
Zeke and his group were shocked when they heard her words.
Catherine smiled brightly as she looked at the expressions on the group’s faces.
“I’m looking forward to the game tomorrow.”

From the second round of the main tournament onwards outside spectators were allowed to watch.
This meant that the sponsoring families were more actively involved than before.
The stadium where the team tightrope wrestling was scheduled was already sold out.
On one side of the stands the bloodline families associated with Siemens cheered loudly wearing Siemens family emblems.
Bamparararara!
Bands blew trumpets and beat drums to sing Siemens’ victory song.
On the other side the house of Agamemnon and the middle nobility occupied the seats.
They didn’t make much noise but they waved dozens of flags and exerted overwhelming pressure.
The number was twice that of the Siemens bloodline families that participated in the game.
It was a scene that clearly showed the prestige of the Agamemnon family the rulers of the central region.
Just before the game started players came out from both sides of the field.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sound of drums rang out loud as the wrestlers stood in front of the tightrope wrestling ring tangled in a mess between the pillars.
The distance between the lines was quite far so if the line broke it would not be easy to move to the other line.
Gareth came forward and briefly explained the rules of the game.
The rules were simpler than I thought.

Those who fell below the line were eliminated and those who lasted until the designated time could advance to the third round of the main competition.
Felix gaped at the sight of a fairly large tightrope wrestling ring.
He whispered to Zeke.
“Master Ma. I’ll just give up here…”
“Liam Felix. Anyone who fails here will have to undergo a year of closed training.”
Felix cried out in response to Zeke’s threats and headed towards the wrestling ring.
The referee announced the start of the game.
Boom!
The players each lined up.
It was not a tight rope but rather quite elastic so it was not easy to keep your balance and move on it.
But Edward Siemens was standing on the line with his arms crossed looking very comfortable.
He looked at Zeke and his group with a bitter smile.
‘This is a unique training tool from Siemens. I’ve been playing here since I was five.’
In fact this line was one of many training tools developed by Siemens for auror control.
It was a shame to reveal the family’s secret training tool but it was worth it if it meant getting Zeke and Reyna away from here for sure.
Zeke and Felix Liam Rayna moved across the line closer to each other.
But most of the people besides them were from families connected to Siemens.
Edward stood in line and shouted at them.
“Go and knock those guys off!”
Zig’s group drew their swords and watched out for those approaching them.
As expected it seemed like they were going to use the water ghost tactic of rushing in from all directions and falling together.
Boos erupted from the audience on Agamemnon’s side who noticed it.
“Un-knightly bastards!”
“Siemens you deadly dirty bastards!”
They were middle-class nobles who threw away all respect for their dignity and hurled crude insults.
Yet neither the Edwards nor the Siemens camp batted an eye.
If it had been hit with this level of abuse Siemens today would not exist.
The Siemens’ cooperative family participants heedless of the jeers charged towards Zik and his group with their weapons drawn.
But then something completely unexpected happened.
“Hey hey hey!”
One of the Siemens personnel accidentally fell and grabbed the other personnel falling down with them.
thud!
At the same time four people fell and were eliminated.
Edward who was watching this from behind frowned.
‘They’re just like those losers.’
The problem didn’t end there.
Boom! Boom!
Before even reaching Zeke’s group many people fell off the tightrope.
Before we knew it nearly half of the Siemens staff had dropped out.
Zeke seeing that sight smiled and looked at Catherine who was sitting in the audience.
‘The power of money is truly scary.’
The Graham Dukes had a firm grip on the financial world of the Central Continent.
This meant that among the families participating in this match there were some who borrowed money from the Graham Dukes.
Catherine compiled a list of families who had borrowed money from the Grahams and made them an offer they couldn’t refuse.
The offer was that if they were eliminated from the game they would extend the loan term and introduce a new loan product with a lower interest rate. As soon as they threw out the bait they got hooked.
The Graham family’s offer was accepted but the game was postponed as if the player had accidentally fallen off the line.
There were also many who fell together with other participants because they could receive benefits such as interest-free loans or exemptions from fees if they fell together with other participants.
Edward frowned and shouted as his power was suddenly reduced by more than half.
“What the hell are you guys doing! Grab those guys and get away from me right now!”
It was as if Catherine had completely stolen the tactics he had been planning to use.
Although it was a close collaborating family with Siemens loan maturities and high interest rates were a reality.
The more financially struggling a family was the more willingly they accepted the Graham family’s offer.
It was a counterattack fit for a Drake tournament.
Zig smirked as he looked at the Siemens articles that had fallen from the corn.
“I guess it’s worth a try.”
At those words Rayna and Liam nodded and stepped forward first.
Boom!
Reina used the elasticity of the bouncing rope to jump high into the air.
Then he struck down with a strong sword strike.
Tourniquet Dragon Slaughter Method
Assault plane
Cracking the bull skull
Kwakwakwakwang!
The Tourn family’s bold swordsmanship overwhelmed the other participants.
Liam took a completely different approach.
Liam hanging upside down from a rope swung his sword from below using his characteristically long arms.
Choaack!
“Ugh!”
When a sword suddenly shot out from below those standing on the line were startled and could not help but lose their balance.
Liam swung his sword weaving around the line like a gibbon.
The participants were unable to come to their senses due to the irregular attack.
The surprising one was Felix.
At first he had a hard time adjusting to being on the tightrope but after he gradually caught his breath and found his balance he stood on the tightrope sword in hand without moving an inch like a giant rock.
The aura emanating from Felix who stood motionless with his sword in hand was enough to make the other knights step back.
Zeke snickered as he looked at Felix.
‘I said the potential is enormous.’
After checking the surroundings Zeke began his activities in earnest.
He held Bahamut and ran along the rope as if it were flat ground.
Shushu shushuk!
For Zigg who had mastered the wind machine there was no difference between a tightrope and the ground.
His only fear was that he would cut all the ropes and blow himself up but fortunately Catherine’s help gave him a chance to fight back.
Zeke ran towards the knights standing on the rope.
Phew!
bang!
The knight who was hit by Zeke lost his balance and fell to the ground.
“Ugh!”
It was hard to keep my balance on a tightrope and I couldn’t withstand the heavy sword strike flying at me.
Soon several knights rushed towards Zeke at once.
They hung on the rope grabbed Zeke’s ankles and tried to cut the rope with their swords.
It was a mud fight with no trace of knightly honor.
But Zeke could have escaped even with the slightest opening.
Whirl!
Zeke jumped up and moved to another line before his ankle was caught.
Edward shouted.
“You idiots! Get out of the way! I’ll cut the rope!”
Edward swung his spear from behind and began cutting the rope.
But it was already too late.
As many people dropped out space was created for Zig to move around. Zig moved freely between the lines and attacked the Siemens knights taking them out one by one.
“Eww!”
thud!
Realizing that they could not withstand Zeke’s attacks the knights began to take up a defensive stance.
It was a way to isolate themselves by cutting all the ropes around them leaving only the rope they could hold on to.
Zeke spoke to Edward who was standing behind the knights.
“Edward Siemens. How about a one-on-one duel like a knight?”
Edward glared at Zeke gritting his teeth at his provocation.
“What do you see me as?”
Even though he was a scoundrel he was a direct descendant of Siemens so he did not fall for such a simple provocation.
“If you don’t want to come I’ll go myself.”
Zeke tried to jump over the tightrope and run towards Edward.
But Edward who had trained in tightrope wrestling since he was young avoided Zeke by climbing a few ropes.
At the same time other knights on Siemens’ side stood in front of Edward and stopped Sieg.
‘Siemens droppers are annoying.’
But then something flew towards Zig who was floating in the air.
Pachin!
A heavy sword strike collided with Bahamut.
bang!
Zig settled on the highest rope letting out a thud.
Then someone else stood opposite him.
A short-haired knight wielding a sword.
It was Helen Draker.
Zeke aimed his sword at Helen Draker.
“Ellen Sabrina. I didn’t know you were from Siemens.”
Even though he knew it wasn’t true he was still trying anyway.
Helen picked up her sword paying no attention to Zeke’s words.
Woohoo!
A clear sword sound rang out.
Then he ran straight towards Zeke.
“Haaaah!”
Helen delivered a powerful blow to Zeke.
Bahamut and Helen’s swords clashed creating a powerful wave.
