    Episode 65

Felix followed Zeke’s words and immediately started looking for a place to camp.

As soon as they decided on a location the two were able to create a more comfortable camp than they had expected using the camping gear that Zeke had taken out of his inventory.

Felix brought water and made a fire under the ground to boil the water.

Then I added the jerky and seasoning that Zeke had given me along with mushrooms I had picked from the surrounding area and made a pretty nice dish.

“Sir Zeke it’s done. Please try it.”

Zeke slurped down the soup Felix handed him.

Even if there was poison Zig’s invulnerable constitution could filter out most things so he put the soup in his mouth without hesitation.

Fortunately there was no poison and the soup tasted good.

“You’re very good at it Felix.”

Felix said with an embarrassed smile.

“Haha I worked in a restaurant for a while before so I’m pretty confident in my cooking.”

“Good. There’s no better comrade in the field than a good cook.”

    Then Felix said to Zeke.

“It seems like you’re quite used to field combat Master Zeke. I guess you receive separate training for this in Valhalla.”

    “Yeah that’s true.”

Zeke gave a vague answer and focused on eating his soup.

After finishing their food the two decided to take turns standing guard.

“I just need to close my eyes for a bit. Wake me up in two hours. I’ll be up next.”

Zigg who has the infinite stamina passive skill didn’t necessarily need to sleep so he just lay down and rested.

While doing so I kept my eyes closed and watched for any signs of Felix doing something different but there was nothing out of the ordinary.

Two hours later Zeke woke up and stood guard keeping watch over the surroundings.

He thought about the demon that had sucked out all his fluids.

‘A demon that can absorb bodily fluids without leaving a trace.’

In his past life Zeke had seen a corpse similar to this one.

I followed him around with my teacher for several days but eventually lost him.

He was smart and careful so it wasn’t easy to catch him.

Zeke thought about it again comparing the footprints he had seen at the time with the ones he had found near the fence.

‘These are traces that don’t match that demon’s. Maybe a different type of demon appeared at the same time.’

It wasn’t common but it wasn’t completely unheard of.

Zeke thought of all possible scenarios and ways to track down the demon.

    That was when.

    Woozikkun!

Across the forest I could hear trees falling.

Zeke immediately got up from his seat and looked in the direction of the sound.

    ‘Two kilometers west.’

    He woke Felix up.

    “Felix.”

    “Hmm! Yes? Yes. Sir Zeke!”

“There’s something beyond the forest. You stay here. I’ll be back soon.”

After leaving a message for Felix Zeke flew into the western forest.

    Whee!

Zig who ran out with the whirlwind arrived at the place where the sound came from in an instant.

He hid behind a tree and watched the situation.

And then I encountered a race I had never even imagined possible.

    ‘Is that a barbarian?’

The Barbarians were a people who lived deep in the Giant Mountains.

Although they looked similar to humans their physical strength was unparalleled.

The physique and strength of the Barbarians were so great that they could be called descendants of the giants who once ruled the mountain ranges and they overwhelmed the ogres.

What was that barbarian warrior fighting?

    “Kwaaah!”

The demon’s shape was so dark that it was hard to see and it swung its tail at the barbarian.

    WHEEK!

The barbarian rolled over to avoid being hit by the demon’s tail.

Then he uprooted the trees nearby and swung them at the demon.

    Phew!

The demon quickly dodged the tree swing from the barbarian and retreated.

Zeke saw the demon’s movements and realized that it was the one he had lost in his previous life.

‘The master called that guy Ga-guk.’

Among the demons there were some special ones like that country.

Zeke’s master called such people ‘ancient species’ and told him to be especially careful with them.

They were much stronger and smarter than the average demon.

He was a quick and careful guy like a monkey.

If you touch the long tentacle-like tail that extends outwards your life force will be sucked out.

Just like the corpse we found earlier it turns into a mummy in an instant.

‘It looks like the livestock was taken by that Barbarian and the people were taken by Gaguk.’

I had a rough idea of what was going on but I couldn’t figure out why the Barbarians and the Ga-guk were fighting here so I decided to wait and see what happened.

    “Kiaaaaak!”

The country threatened the barbarian with its sharp teeth.

Then suddenly his neck bulged and he spat something out at the Barbarian.

    Choaaaak!

What came out of his mouth at incredible speed was a sharp skewer-like tongue.

The barbarian warrior crossed his arms to block the skewer.

    Phew!

But the tongue of the country penetrated the barbarian’s strong body past his stomach and all the way to his back.

    thud!

The barbarian fell to the ground.

Ga-guk looked at the barbarian and laughed wickedly tearing both his mouths apart.

The country began to slowly approach the barbarian.

It was when the Gakuk approached nearby and wrapped its tail around the Barbarian trying to absorb his life force.

    Ouch!

Ga-guk stepped back sensing some invisible danger.

Then he raised his head and began to look around the forest.

But as he couldn’t find anything special he soon tried to approach the fallen barbarian again.

At that moment the hidden sword of Zeke grazed the neck of Ga-guk who was approaching the barbarian.

    “Keeeeeek!”

The startled Ga-guk quickly ran away becoming one with the darkness.

Zig felt regretful as he saw the family disappearing in an instant.

    “You’re so damn fast.”

In his previous life even though his master and Zeke had combined their strength he was still a guy they could not catch.

Although he was smaller than before he seemed to be more sensitive than before.

    “Ugh.”

Zeke looked down at the barbarian warrior lying on the ground.

His face was pale as if he had been poisoned.

Zeke hesitated and surrounded the barbarian warrior.

He entered a nearby cave carrying a barbarian over two meters tall on his shoulder.

Then he examined the wounds of the Barbarian warrior.

    “Hmm.”

The part where the tongue of the country had passed through had turned black.

As expected it seemed to contain poison.

‘He’s a dangerous guy no matter what.’

Zeke took out his dagger heated it with the power of fire and stabbed the Barbarian warrior in the wound.

    Chewy!

Black blood spurted from the wound.

He took the antidote from his inventory and poured it on the Barbarian warrior’s wound.

    “Eeeeeeeee!”

The patient barbarian warrior writhe in pain.

The poison was so vicious that it would have melted and turned him into a poisonous beast if he were a normal human and he was the only one alive because he was a barbarian with a relatively strong body.

Zig took out another bottle of antidote and poured it evenly onto the wound.

As the bubbles began to boil the antidote began to neutralize the poison.

The poison seemed to have been neutralized to some extent so Zeke took out a healing potion and put it in the barbarian’s mouth.

But strangely enough the healing potion didn’t work on the barbarian.

“Does the potion not work on non-humans?”

Even if the poison was neutralized there was a high possibility that the patient would die of shock if left untreated because vital organs had been damaged.

After much thought Zeke decided to try a skill he had never used before.

“Area buff skill… I don’t know if this will work.”

Zeke placed his hand on the Barbarian’s wound and used an area-of-effect buff skill.

[Which skill would you like to use to cast an area-of-effect buff?]

    Zeke chose the healing factor.

Then a bright light spread out widely centered around Zeke.

    Choaaaak!

As the golden waves swept over the surrounding area the body of the barbarian in front also began to glow golden.

Then soon the Barbarian’s wounds began to heal.

“Oh that works. It has a similar effect to when I used healing before.”

In my past life I was able to use healing not only on myself but also on others.

In this life I had forgotten that I could use the system and that my skills could be turned into healing factors allowing me to heal others.

The Barbarian warrior’s own resilience was also high so the serious wounds had almost completely healed leaving only scars.

Zeke pressed on the Barbarian’s wounds to check if his organs had also recovered.

“You’re lucky. If it weren’t for me you’d be dead.”

    That was when.

    “Eww!”

The Barbarian warrior came to his senses as if the healing factor had definitely taken effect.

However even if he used healing it was virtually impossible to come to his senses this quickly so Zeke flinched and then nodded.

‘Oh well Barbarians are beyond common sense.’

The barbarians that Zeke had seen in his previous life also did things that humans would never think of doing without a care.

At some point the Barbarian warrior suddenly opened his eyes.

Then he sat up abruptly looked around and found Zeke.

    “Kwaaah!”

He threatened with a battle cry and then immediately stepped back keeping his guard up.

Zeke spoke calmly to the barbarian warrior.

    “subsidence.”

The barbarian warrior was surprised when Zeke spoke to him in their language.

    “Korean. Understand?”

The language of the Barbarians was very simple and not very colorful.

    Zeke nodded and answered.

“Okay. I’ll take care of you.”

The Barbarian examined the wounds he had suffered from Ga-guk earlier.

It was clear that he had been poisoned by a bullet that penetrated his body but the wound had completely healed.

The barbarian approached Zeke in surprise.

    “I live?”

    Zeke nodded.

    “That’s right. I’ll buy it.”

The barbarian warrior suddenly hugged Zeke sobbing.

    “Thank you.”

As the Barbarian warrior calmed down Zeke asked him:

“My name is Zeke. What’s your name?”

“I’m Wang Jumuk. Nice to meet you Jik.”

“Nice to meet you Wang Jumuk. Why are you here? Your house is over there.”

    “I’m taking a warrior test.”

    “hunt?”

“That’s right. You must succeed in the hunt to become a warrior.”

Zeke was surprised to hear the Barbarian warrior’s words.

Since he was so physically fit I thought he was an adult warrior who had already passed the warrior exam but after listening to his story it seemed like he hadn’t become an adult yet.

“How old is Wang Ju-Fist? He’s already a warrior.”

“I’m sixteen. I count as a village warrior.”

    “I’m seventeen. Older than you.”

From what I could roughly infer from the story it turns out that the test was given to Wang Ju-Fist who was already stronger than the warrior to capture Ga-Guk a strong demon from the surrounding areas of Barbaria in order to give him a proper passing test.

The problem is that although they are stronger than adult warriors they have not yet learned the tricks of hunting.

As a result they were able to push back against the Trojans but were unable to catch them and continued to chase them until they reached the Duchy of Troy at the foot of the mountain range.

‘You just walked up the mountain from the Barbarian realm to the Duchy of Troy.’

As expected the Barbarians were beings beyond the realm of common sense.

At that moment Wang Ju-Fuk made a gloomy expression.

“Hunting is too difficult. I think I’ll fail.”

Then Zeke said to Wang Jumeok.

    “Help me hunt?”

    Wang Ju-fuk was startled.

    “Really?”

“I want to catch that guy too.”

Wang Ju-Fuk cried again and hugged Zig.

    “Thanks Zeke.”

Then Zeke patted Wang Jumeok on the back and said.

    “I am the older brother.”

    “ah.”

    * * *

Zeke who decided to capture Ga-guk with Wang Ju-fuk took Wang Ju-fuk with him and returned to the campsite where Felix was.

Felix who had been waiting for Zeke to arrive was startled when he brought a giant over two meters tall.

“Sir Ji Ji-kun. That thing over there…!”

As Felix’s fierce reaction made Wang Jumuk try to shout a battle cry again Zeke quickly stopped him.

    “He is my subordinate.”

    “What is a subordinate?”

Barbarians were all warriors and there was no hierarchy other than the tribal chief.

Zeke pondered what a subordinate meant in Bavarian.

But I couldn’t find the right words so I said it roughly.

    “Foot wipes?”

Wang Ju-Fuk nodded as if he understood what Zeke said.

Zeke felt sorry for Felix who had become a foot scrubber in an instant but for lack of better words he just let it go.

Wang Ju-Fuk started looking around the campsite searching here and there for something to eat.

Seeing him like that Zeke took out some jerky from his inventory and gave it to Wang Jumeok to eat.

But the amount was too little for a Bavarian to eat and he ate it all in one go.

‘So he came down to the houses and stole the livestock.’

Felix who was observing the approaching King Fist spoke to Zeke with a thoughtful expression.

    “Mr. Ji Ji-ke. Isn’t that a Barbarian?”

    “right.”

“Oh my goodness a Barbarian. Are you okay?”

“I saved him from being killed by the devil so he followed me well. We decided to catch the devil together.”

Felix looked as if his soul had left him at Zeke’s words that were beyond common sense.

    Zeke watched Felix’s reaction closely.

‘When I first saw the Barbarian I froze without even drawing my sword. If I could act like that I’d say I didn’t receive any special training.’

If it weren’t for the aura I could feel it seemed like a really ordinary guide.

‘Maybe I was being too sensitive.’

Zeke became more and more curious about Felix’s identity.

At that moment Wang Ju-fuk suddenly stood up.

    He said to Zeke.

    “Brother Zeke. You stink.”

I asked Wang Ju-Fuk who was suddenly complaining about the smell.

    “What is that smell?”

Wang Ju-fuk’s eyes were sparkling with madness.

    “That’s his smell.”
