    Episode 63

Captain Ingrid kept pacing back and forth inside the barracks with an anxious expression.

At that moment the crystal ball blinked.

The captain received a call from Sujeong-gu.

    “So. What happened?”

He relayed the situation of Zigg who was detained on the other side of the prison cell.

“That Paynen guy turned down Drake’s offer?”

    The captain’s expression brightened.

Since the Black Yaksha was currently on the run there was not enough evidence for Zeke to report anything to the upper echelons of Delphos on his own.

He could protest to Delphos through Draker but without evidence it was impossible to uncover anything between him and the Black Yaksha.

There the higher-ups wanted to maintain this unit on an ongoing basis.

As Ingrid she didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to build both money and a career.

‘If I can hold out for another year I can move up to the center. If I get a little more lucky I might even be a candidate for the top position.’

Ingrid quickly began to picture her own rosy future after hearing that Payne had rejected Zeke’s offer.

While he was lost in his imagination an adjutant came into the barracks.

“Captain. How do you plan to attack the fortress?”

He said as he put the crystal ball in.

“Let’s make a few noises and then withdraw.”

Since his adjutant was also involved in this collusion he did not question his commander’s orders and went straight out of the barracks.

Ingrid smiled and prepared to go into battle.

‘Depending on the situation I’ll have to tell the Black Yaksha to come back. I’ll tell him to hold out until this year and move to a different place next year.’

If the tail was too long it would be caught.

After this incident it could have been even more dangerous.

I was thinking of just filling in the gaps in my career that I needed and then ending it.

As soon as Ingrid had organized the magician unit as instructed by her adjutant she led them up towards the fortress.

I was planning to fire a few flashy spells at the fortress and then attack from above then pretend I couldn’t win and fall back to the barracks.

    ‘Let’s make Jorge take responsibility.’

After settling down in the usual place Ingrid ordered the magician unit to use their magic.

    Whoosh whoosh!

    Kwakwakwakwang!

    Pupupupu!

They flew towards the fortress mainly using loud and flashy magic spells.

However the attacks were cleverly directed in a direction that did not directly damage the fortress.

After the attack had progressed to some extent Ingrid gave orders to her troops.

    “Step back!”

Now was the time for a counterattack from the fortress.

But inside no arrows or stones flew like usual.

‘What the hell is going on?’

Ingrid was puzzled when there was no response from the fortress.

    That was when.

The main gate of the fortress was opening.

    “All bosses.”

The adjutant next to him also looked embarrassed and called out to him.

And then someone came out towards the main gate.

    Ingrid opened her eyes wide.

    “Hey you!”

Surprisingly Zeke was walking out from the front on horseback.

After that Zeke’s group and even Payne were together.

    Ingrid stammered pointing at Payne.

“Pe Peinan! How on earth did you do that? You must be…!”

Then Zeke interrupted Ingrid and said:

“Why are you surprised that the results are different from what was wiretapped?”

    Ingrid was speechless.

Zeke already knew that their quarters were being watched and bugged.

So when he spoke to Payne he used a magic scroll to make sure his conversation was not overheard.

And Payne who realized the corruption of Ingrid and the magicians immediately decided to cooperate with Zeke.

“If that happens it will be difficult for you to further your career at Delphi.”

“It’s better to just give up than to build a career in shame.”

Contrary to his fragile appearance Payne was a man of strong and firm character.

He pretended to reject Zeke’s offer in preparation for wiretapping and went straight to report the corruption to his superiors.

    Soon someone appeared behind Payne.

Ingrid looked at the patterns carved into their robes and became thoughtful.

    ‘Scales and sword. The Inspectorate…!’

Delphi was not a country stained with corruption and bribery like the southern continent.

The reason this could happen was because there was a powerful oversight agency.

The Delphos censorship unit was renowned for its harsh investigations and punishments.

The leader of that surveillance unit came forward and arrested Ingrid.

“Ingrid Haxen. You are under arrest for corruption and collusion with the Continental public.”

The hands of the magicians of the magic group including Ingrid were handcuffed with magic control handcuffs.

He shouted at the chief of the inspection unit.

“This is a false accusation! I have never colluded!”

Then the chief of the inspection unit glared at him with sharp eyes.

“We have already secured all the evidence of collusion within the fortress. Stop thinking about evading the truth.”

Ingrid realizing that she had been completely outwitted cried out in anger.

“Damn it! If I get caught I’ll die alone! How many superiors gave me the upper hand! If I open my mouth everyone will get hurt! The whole of Delphos will be in an uproar!”

    That was when.

Zeke approached Ingrid and slapped her across the face.

    “Cough!”

In one of Zeke’s rooms Ingrid’s mouth completely burst.

He spat out a few teeth along with blood and screamed.

    “Yeah you little guy!”

Zeke said looking down at Ingrid with cold eyes.

“You and all the other scumbags connected to you will be involved one by one. You have many connections? Use them as much as you want. I am a direct descendant of Draker a pureblood Awakened and the sole descendant of the former Black Knight Duke Draker. It would be fun to make a bet. Who has more connections?”

Ingrid’s face turned pale at Zeke’s words.

It was only then that he realized who he had touched.

Ingrid collapsed on her knees before Zig and began to beg.

“Okay I was wrong! I was… wrong! Please! Please forgive me…!”

    Zeke said glaring at Ingrid.

“Please ask for forgiveness not from me but from the knights who died meaninglessly because of you you piece of trash.”

In the end Ingrid was taken away by the inspection unit with a blank expression on her face.

The chief of the inspection unit came to Andrei and expressed his gratitude.

“I will send a formal letter of thanks to the Draker family and Valhalla for their help.”

“Thank you Delphos for your quick response and we were able to complete the project without any problems. Thank you.”

The inspection unit captured the group of black yakshas and magicians from the fortress and took them away and cleaned up the scene.

As he was watching them someone approached Zeke.

    “Sir.”

They were members of the 8th Knights including Jorge.

They were excluded from the investigation due to Zick’s testimony that they had nothing to do with this corruption.

However without the 8th Division which is a magical unit the knights belonging to it cannot exist either.

Because of this the Eighth Knights had no choice but to disband unless they were taken by other magic orders.

However there was no place that would accept the knights who were branded as traitors to the magician order they belonged to.

    Zeke said looking at Jorge.

    “Don’t you regret it Jorge?”

Although it was clearly informal speech unlike before Jorge accepted it nonchalantly and scratched the back of his head as he spoke.

“I have no regrets. I just feel sorry for my colleagues who died unjustly. For meeting such a bad leader…”

Eventually the other knights also shed tears at Jorge’s words that were choked up.

They all looked like bandits so I thought “Get out of here” but there were a lot of tears.

Zeke who was watching them said to Jorge.

“If you don’t mind I’d like to offer you a new job.”

Jorge was surprised by those words.

    “A new new job?”

Zig took a contract out of his bosom.

Jorge opened his mouth wide as he received the contract.

“Your Majesty. These are… too good conditions. Isn’t the unit… wrong?”

“If you want to work with me you have to get paid this much.”

    “With you sir?”

“Yes. I have a company that I recently started. I need an escort team for that company so I would like you to do some work for me.”

“Oh my God. Are you saying you will hire all of our knights?”

    “Why don’t you like it?”

    Jorge shook his head.

“No way! What are you doing? Let’s go greet our lord!”

Jorge and the other knights all knelt down and bowed to Zeke.

Zeke clicked his tongue and said to Jorge.

“If you go things won’t always be good. There’s a scary instructor.”

Zeke had intended to send them south for a while to be educated by Simon.

He was also entrusted with guarding the newly built factory.

Zigg who had sorted out the whereabouts of the 8th Division spoke to Paynen.

“Lord Paynen come to Atlas as soon as the matter in Delphos is settled. There is much work to be done together in the future.”

    Payne nodded.

    “Understood Master.”

It was Zeke and Payne who became the new master-servant relationship in the professor-student relationship.

Zeke finished his work in Delphos and returned to Atlas with his companions.

Since the results of the special graduation mission went in an unexpected direction it was impossible to know what kind of evaluation would come out.

    Kookung!

A group of people in black uniforms gathered at a shelter set up in Midland.

The uniforms they wore were similar to those of the Drakers but instead of dragon shields they wore two pairs of black wings.

    Drakers who are not Drakers.

However the most Drake-like ones were the Black Stage members.

The black stage leader sat at a round table and the deputy commanders sat to his right and left.

A situation where all the key figures of the Black Stage are present at the meeting.

The fierce-looking Black Stage Commander with no hair or eyebrows spoke while caressing the black gloves of a pureblood awakened person on his hand.

“I’m sorry to call you when you’re all busy.”

    Baron Draker.

The Black Stage Captain was the only one in the Black Stage who was permitted to use the Drake name.

He spoke to the black stage executives.

“I trust that each person will take care of the smaller issues on their own and I will just address the biggest issues.”

The look in the eyes of the Black Stage Commander changed.

“The southern continent has been noisy lately.”

The left wing unit leader standing next to him said:

“Sir they’re just thugs who sell drugs. You don’t have to worry too much.”

Even on the black stage the left wing was a unit that was mainly deployed in combat situations.

In terms of their fighting prowess the cartels were nothing more than a bunch of insignificant thugs.

At that moment the right wing unit leader standing next to him opened his mouth.

“The Southern Cartel is a place that has gone public quickly in a short period of time. In the case of Don Juan of the McCain Cartel he monopolized the entire South and monopolized the production manufacturing and distribution of soma at once accumulating enormous wealth. He is by no means an opponent to be taken lightly.”

The right wing units unlike the left wing were in charge of intelligence and information collection and analysis.

At that moment the Black Stage Commander opened his mouth.

    “Don Juan is dead.”

All the commanders were shocked at those words.

It was absurd that none of the Dark Stage members who held all the information on the continent knew about this fact.

The right wing deputy commander spoke calmly.

“Sir Don Juan is currently believed to have disappeared to avoid the onslaught of the Favela Cartel.”

The Black Stage Commander slowly opened his mouth.

“After Don Juan disappeared the McCain Cartel was torn apart. The favelas that were at war with it were also in a similar state with most of their bosses dead. But isn’t it strange that Don Juan hasn’t shown up in such a situation?”

The right wing deputy commander kept his mouth shut at the captain’s words.

Actually I didn’t think much about the Southern Cartel part so I just assumed Don Juan was hiding.

As the Black Stage Master placed his hand on the table a magical image appeared in the air.

“This video was taken a month ago in the favela area.”

The footage showed people wearing black masks.

He flipped the screen over further.

“This is footage taken from McCain’s side.”

Likewise photographs were taken of those wearing masks.

As the Black Stage Master spread his hands several photos of masked people were lined up in various places.

He said pointing to the screen.

“The one in the middle. The author moved between McCain and the favelas and took down both cartels. But the author’s identity has not been revealed anywhere yet.”

The Black Stage Commander spoke while looking at the video with sharp eyes.

“We need to find the author right now. We need to know who he is. We need to know why he messed with the big cartels in the South.”

As soon as those words were spoken the black stage actors in the room stood up from their seats.

The Draker Darkside the continent’s most powerful intelligence agency.

From there he started following Zeke.
