    Episode 563

    “Zeke Draker!”

Alicia was the first to discover Zeke as he appeared on the battlefield.

She had gone deep into the monsters’ camp to eliminate the warlocks and when she saw the lightning flash of light bursting out she had sensed his appearance and ran straight to him.

    Zeke smiled and greeted Alicia.

“It’s good to see you again Your Majesty.”

But he soon wiped the smile off his lips. He was happy to see Alicia again but there was something he had to do first.

“I’ll leave the situation here to you.”

At those words Alicia lifted the Nang’a Sword onto her shoulder and said.

“Hmm? The gate has collapsed and the monsters have already begun to disperse. Wouldn’t it be better to stay with me and then enter the camp?”

Zeke shook his head at Alicia’s words.

“I’ve heard of Jupiter’s current situation. This crude move must be Castro Pollock’s trick. The real danger is not him.”

Alicia’s expression hardened at Zeke’s words.

“Could it be that the Red King was using Castro Pollock as bait to try another move?”

“He is the one who stopped the mighty Muruk Empire army with just one shabby castle so there is no way he will end up like this.”

As Alicia nodded with a serious expression a black shadow rose from under Zeke’s feet as he finished speaking.

He spoke to Alicia as he levitated into the air.

“Tell the Duke of Aragon to stay here and not march on Jupiter.”

After delivering his words Zeke flew straight through the air and towards the front.

Alicia shook her head when she saw this.

“Every time I see you you change. Now I don’t know if I can even hold out for one sword.”

She spoke as if she was sighing for a moment then she quickly grabbed the Nang’a sword and took a stance while looking at the monsters scattering.

“Myeonggyeong Jisoo! Make every move with certainty! I will do as the Sword King says so make me stronger than Sieg Draker!”

As Alicia swung her Nang’a Sword with shining eyes again the area where the monsters had been was reduced to scorched earth.

The gate that was suddenly created to shake up the Allied Forces was easily subdued by the activities of the Black Sword Knights and Himonas Knights.

The battlefield situation seemed to be resolved more easily than expected.

Just when she was thinking that maybe Zeke was overreacting something caught Alicia’s eye.

    “What is that?”

Black shadows decorating the sky were flying toward the Allied forces’ camp.

    * * *

    Kwaaaaang!

Castro Pollock watched the battlefield through his telescope from Jupiter Castle and struck the solid parapet of the wall with his fist.

“Damn it! What the hell are those hellish bastards doing!”

His original plan was to open a gate in the rear to confuse the Allied forces then send in the Knights of Dracul and mercenaries to completely disintegrate the Allied forces.

However contrary to Castro’s strategy the waves of monsters in the rear were easily blocked by the Black Sword Knights and Himonas Knights.

Castro shouted at the warlock of the abyss next to him.

“Contact the wizards immediately! Tell them to summon stronger monsters!”

Then the warlock with a pale face and black lips and fingernails shook his head.

“Summoning a demon is not that easy. Even now I am putting in a lot of effort and expending a lot of magical power.”

Castro became even more angry and jumped around at the warlock’s words.

“Damn it! What good is wasting your magic power? All those monsters are falling down dead right now!”

Castro took a deep breath and turned his head toward the aide beside him.

“No way. Tell the Knights of Dracula to prepare for battle.”

The adjutant looked troubled and thought for a moment then nodded.

He went down to the castle to deliver the order to the Knights of Dracula to advance under Castro’s orders.

But not long after he left the adjutant came running back toward Castro with a stern face.

    “Commander!”

    He spoke to Castro panting.

“I went down to check… and they said that the Knights of Dracula had already left the castle.”

Castro’s face instantly turned red at the adjutant’s words.

    “What!”

No matter how much the enemy king’s fame was higher than Castro’s he was the current lord and person in charge of Jupiter Castle.

However the fact that the Red King and the Knights of Dracula acted as they pleased meant that they completely ignored Castro who was in charge.

He spoke to his adjutant his fists clenched and trembling.

“…Bring out Emperor Nero’s secret weapon.”

The aide was taken aback by Castro’s words.

    “Commander that’s….”

When the aide hesitated Castro grabbed him by the collar.

“The morale of the Allied Forces has been boosted by the monsters captured and the enemy king has disappeared! What on earth is there to hide in this situation!”

As an adjutant I felt very wronged because I knew that if I had just stayed put in the castle this would not have happened in the first place but I couldn’t do anything about it.

    “…All right.”

At the same time Castro turned his head and spoke to the black magician of the abyss with a fierce look.

“The monsters failed. We must summon stronger ones to destroy their camp.”

Then the warlock spoke with an unchanging face as if made of wax.

“You can no longer summon monsters. Instead… you can summon demons.”

The adjutant was startled by the warlock’s words and spoke to Castro.

“Commander! Monster waves are like random natural disasters so we can somehow deny their connection to us. However… if we use the devil we will certainly be condemned by the entire continent. Our already weak justification may disappear.”

At the adjutant’s words Castro pointed beyond the walls.

Then he shouted with his eyes flashing red.

“The entire continent has already turned its back on me! In this situation do you want me to worry about the criticism of others?”

Although he was a racist Castro was a clever and rational leader.

But as the situation became more dramatic he lost his usual composure and gentlemanliness and was only concerned with solving the problems right in front of him.

The aide nodded thinking that it would be pointless to try to stop Castro in this situation.

    “I will follow your wishes.”

In a state of resignation the adjutant went down to the castle to relay Castro’s instructions.

Castro left alone continued to mutter something unsteadily biting his fingernails as he looked outside the walls.

“We have to kill them. We have to take them down quickly.”

The black magician who had been quietly watching Castro like that sent a message with magic.

[Castro’s mind is almost broken. Report to the enemy king and let the evil spirits out.]

In the midst of a battlefield situation where everything was going smoothly Helen ran into an unexpected obstacle.

“As a knight how can I retreat to another place while facing the enemy right in front of me? I can never do that for the honor of a knight!”

The riders from the central aristocracy did not move at all despite the commander-in-chief’s order to move to the rear.

It was a kind of battle of pride and since the other nobles were not moving he was showing off his courage by saying that he would not move either.

As Helen who was renowned as the guardian knight of Draker and the knight of steel this was a situation she could not understand but seeing so many noble knights doing this made her feel even stranger.

‘I knew full well that the central aristocracy was arrogant and pretentious but I never thought it would be like this on the battlefield.’

Normally when monsters appeared from the rear the riders were supposed to come out first and fight them.

However since they left it to the Black Sword Knights and Himonas Knights and did not move at all from their base the meaning of the allied forces being gathered together was fading away.

The vice-captain of the Steel Knights standing next to Helen also had an embarrassed expression but then he spoke to Helen as if he had made up his mind about something.

“If the Commander-in-Chief gives the order we will move even by force.”

Even if they were the central nobles there was no way they could not move by force if the Drake Knights came forward.

However if that happened there was a possibility that the Allied Forces which were not properly united would fall apart even more easily.

‘Even though the rear is well blocked the enemy king cannot just let this opportunity pass.’

Since it was clear that the Allied Forces would be attacked in some way Helen had to mobilize the central nobles to prepare for it.

Helen had no choice but to get off her horse.

“I will go and persuade them myself. I will quickly move those who show a supportive attitude toward the Allied Forces to the rear…”

It was while Helen was calmly explaining the plan.

I felt something strange in the sky.

I looked up and saw hundreds of dots floating in the air.

No it looked like it was floating but in fact it was flying towards the Allied positions.

    Kwakwakwakwakwang!

Moments later hundreds of shells flew in and exploded on all sides of the Allied positions.

    Quadddddddd!

    Kwakwakwakwang!

The barracks along with the temporary warehouses storing supplies were all destroyed by the shells.

    “Kwaaah!”

The Allied flag bearers in the center were reduced to ashes by the huge shells that fell in all directions.

Those who had been staying in the luxurious barracks and only complaining verbally were startled by the sudden shell flying from the sky and barely managed to get on guard and move their heavy buttocks.

“Get back! Get out of the range of the shells!”

The shells fired from Jupiter had an incredible range flying normally impossible distances and penetrating deep into Allied positions.

This long-range cannon was the secret weapon that the mad emperor Nero of Rome was developing and which Castro had ordered brought out.

Developed in collaboration with the Siemens family it was a weapon that could strike from a much farther distance and with greater accuracy than existing cannons making it the perfect weapon for striking enemies who let their guard down.

He had been hiding it in order to take it out at a crucial moment and disintegrate all the Allied forces but when the situation turned out like this he took out his secret weapon first.

    Kwakwakwakwakwang!

Helen tried to minimize the damage by controlling the central nobles and riders who were running around with the Steel Knights.

In the first place it was the fault of those who ignored the warning signals and did not come out of the camp but now that one of the riders was in a sorry state there was no time to blame them.

Helen shouted raising her Dragon Buster and swatting away the projectiles flying through the air.

“Step back put on your armor and take up your shield! The follow-up attack is coming!”

Helen gave instructions in a loud voice but this time the central nobles did not listen to her properly.

In fact it was more accurate to say that they could not hear properly. This was because most of them had not even properly taken out their armor or shields because they had suddenly burst out of the barracks.

Although he emphasized the honor of a knight with his mouth he did not show any knightly appearance on the battlefield.

Then shells began to fly again from Jupiter Castle.

    Kwakwakwakwakwang!

The shell flew at a higher trajectory than before.

But the shell’s reaction was different from the first one.

To everyone’s surprise the shell exploded in mid-air.

    Kwarrrrrrrrrr―

Shrapnel from the exploded shell flew in all directions.

Those who heeded Helen’s warning and took up armor and shields were able to block the shrapnel but those who did not had holes pierced all over their bodies and died on the spot.

    “Keuh-uh-uh!”

There were many cases of people falling bleeding with sharp fragments embedded in their bodies.

Helen looked at the situation in the rear and shouted commanding the confused camp.

“Lead the wounded and move to the rear! The rear is safer now that the monsters have collapsed!”

All the wounded had to be moved to the rear before follow-up shells arrived.

However the injured nobles did not move quickly only making dying sounds and staggering.

    Then another shell came flying.

    Kwakwakwakwakwakwa!

There were more shells than before.

Helen clenched her teeth and injected power into the Dragon Buster.

    Quadddddddd!

Her armor disintegrated into small pieces forming a giant shield.

    “Haaaaaaah!”

Helen unleashed her special weapon the Steel Blade.

The shield became a wall of steel blocking the shrapnel from the shells.

    Pavabababababak!

But it was virtually impossible to block all the debris.

Helen who had turned all the pieces of armor she wore into shields in an effort to save as many people as possible also had shrapnel embedded in her body.

    “Ugh.”

Red blood flowed from the place where the shrapnel had lodged but Helen endured the pain grabbed the sword raised her body and shouted again.

“While I’m holding them back quickly take the wounded to the rear!”
