    Episode 52

    “crazy….”

The sight that unfolded before my eyes was terrifying.

There were still traces of various human experiments being carried out regardless of age gender or race.

It was when Zeke was trembling with anger.

    “Who are you!”

A wizard wearing experimental robes shouted at Zeke.

The wizard’s robes were covered in blood and debris as if he had just returned from an experiment.

Zeke opened his mouth to speak to the wizard.

“I’ll give you just one more chance. Tell me what you did here and I’ll at least kill you comfortably.”

The wizard realized that Zeke was an intruder and reached out.

    “Poison fog!”

As he was a poison magician he immediately created a poisonous dance and attacked Zeke.

    [Magically synthesized poison detected.]

[This is a poison that goes beyond the effect of the constitutional cure.]

    [You become addicted.]

It seemed that poison made of magic could not be blocked by the White Poison Invincibility.

But Zeke’s healing factor healed his body faster than he could become addicted.

Zeke pulled out Bahamut and ran forward.

    “Huh!”

Before the wizard could react properly Zeke’s sword cut straight through the wizard’s body.

Zeke ground his teeth as he watched the wizard die in an instant.

    “You killed me so comfortably.”

He was able to move without any problems thanks to the healing factor but he couldn’t leave the poison as is so he took out a detox potion from his inventory and drank it.

Soon after his addiction wore off and his body returned to normal Zeke entered the laboratory with his sword in hand.

As we went further inside past the experimental table where the test subjects were spread out we came across a space where various reagents and experimental equipment were lined up.

There were experimental wizards there too.

    “Chi Intruder!”

Before the wizards could speak a blast of heat poured down from Zeke’s sword.

    Whoosh! Whoosh!

Pure flames burned the wizards’ bodies.

There was no time to scream.

“There’s no need to show mercy to those who don’t even seem human.”

Zeke turned around and set fire to the place where the horribly dead test subjects were.

Then he searched through the area where the wizards had been and threw the experimental materials and records into his inventory.

I took out the sealed ones and put them away whole.

I was thinking of leaving here going to Anga and taking my time looking around.

‘If the scarlet flower bottle was made by magic as Princess Melissa said then it might have been made here.’

It was the moment when Zeke burned down the laboratory and was about to escape the dungeon.

    Ss …

A thick cloud of poison was sprayed towards Zeke.

    [Magically synthesized poison detected.]

After confirming the system’s warning Zig immediately stepped back.

At that moment someone appeared among the crowd.

“Who dares to touch my laboratory?”

It was an old man wearing a black robe.

Zeke examined the patterns and number of rings on the old man’s robe.

‘Six rings on a scorpion emblem. Seems like an elder of the Scorpion Clan.’

The pattern on the robe represents the wizard’s affiliation and the number of rings represents the circle it forms.

If you have reached around 6 circles you are usually a high-level magician such as an elder of a famous clan or a division commander of a magic troop.

The old man raised his hand and aimed at Zig.

“Where did you send that guy?”

Zeke didn’t respond and just took Bahamut and lunged forward.

Because I knew that there was nothing good to come from mixing magicians and horses in the middle of a battle.

    Woohoo!

An aura blade shot out from Zeke’s sword.

The old man was surprised and quickly used his magic.

    Pachin!

The old man’s body crumbled like sand as he dodged Zeke’s Auror Blade.

Then they reunited again this time far away from Zeke.

Zeke used his magic reflection skill before the old man could use his magic again.

    Jeeeeeeing!

A magical reflective field spread around Zig.

The old man frowned as his magic power did not move as he wished.

“Damn you! Are you sure you’re not a pureblood Draker?”

The pureblood Awakened Drakers who possessed the ability to disrupt magical powers were the natural enemies of magicians.

The old man quickly took something out of his bosom and tore it apart.

Then a magic circle made of sand was drawn on the floor and a synthetic chimera emerged from it.

Zeke looked impressed at the synthetic chimera.

‘Those Scorpion Clan guys are always annoying to deal with.’

The Scorpion Clan based in the desert was a group of warlocks who practiced only the forbidden magics that others shunned.

In addition to creating synthetic chimeras and synthetic poisons they also studied forbidden methods of creating golems and magic that could summon the dead.

Because of such wickedness in the Holy Kingdom simply being a member of the Scorpion Clan was punishable by death.

The fact that the Scorpion Clan and the Empire were conducting human experiments together was a scandal that would shake the entire continent.

    “Krrrrrr!”

A chimera that looked like a mix of a desert black scorpion tail and the legs of a southern jungle shark dragon griffin glared at Zeke.

As soon as the saliva fell smoke rose from the floor as if it was made of venom.

The old man looked at Zeke with a confident expression.

“This is my greatest masterpiece! No matter how much of a drake you are you won’t be able to handle it!”

    The chimera slowly approached Zeke.

Zeke used the Dragon’s Majesty skill which was effective against demons.

For a moment the chimera flinched in surprise.

Then a message window popped up.

[Elicited fear from a lowly dragon.]

[Unique power Dragon Species Domination is activated.]

[Do you want to subjugate the target species?]

When creating the chimera it seems like they used the Shark Dragon as their base but it seems like they recognized it as a dragon species.

    Zeke chose submission.

[I have subjugated a small dragon.]

It seemed like Zeke’s unique power was working.

The chimera looked at Zeke growling softly.

Unlike before his eyes were filled with fear and respect.

    Zeke said to the chimera.

    “Ask that guy.”

As soon as the order was given the chimera turned around and quickly ran towards the old man.

The old man was startled when the chimera suddenly charged at him like crazy.

“Kwaaak! It wasn’t me it was that guy…!”

The old man who could not use magic properly due to Zeke’s magical power reflection died instantly after having his neck bitten by the chimera.

Thinking that it was easier than he thought Zeke searched through the dead wizard’s robes.

The registration card and other belongings indicating the wizard’s identity were found.

“Gurav al-Rummani? I thought this kid was the second in command of the Scorpion Clan.”

It was a pointless death for the second-in-command of the infamous warlock clan.

Originally the wizards of the Scorpion Clan mainly used magic that was effective in multiple melees or assassinations.

Since they are good at attacking first they usually have a lot of guards around but since it is a secret laboratory where security is important it seemed like only magicians were gathered there.

Zig took all of Gurav’s belongings and burned his body like before.

And then Chimera who had been watching Zig like that came over and rubbed his head as if he had decided that the situation was over.

As Zeke was pondering over what he was doing a message appeared before his eyes.

[Would you like to give a name to the subordinate dragon? A dragon that has been given a name can be summoned at any time by the call of the power holder.]

After much thought Zeke decided to name the chimera.

“The original owner’s name is Gurav. Let’s call him Gurav.”

Gurav didn’t seem to like his own name very much.

But there was nothing that could be done about what was already decided.

The chimera registered under the name of Gurav quickly turned to sand and disappeared into Zig’s shadow.

    [Registering Summoner Gurav.]

It was like gaining an unexpected piece of luggage.

Zig who had even carefully taken care of the chimera was finally able to leisurely escape the dungeon.

After that Zeke evaded the Favela Cartel’s pursuit for ten days and returned to McCain Cartel territory.

He returned to Don Juan’s mansion and confronted Don Juan.

    “It’s really amazing. It’s amazing.”

Don Juan looked in admiration at Zig who was standing before him with a cigar in his mouth.

“Would you like a drink? Zeke Murray.”

    “it’s okay.”

Don Juan got up from his seat looked at Zig and said:

“To be honest I didn’t think you would succeed in this mission.”

    “I don’t make promises I can’t keep.”

“Yes you have certainly proven that. It is hard to find such a trustworthy person these days.”

“So now will you believe me?”

    Don Juan nodded.

“Because a brave warrior deserves respect. I have always cherished and cared for my warriors like my own children. I hope you know that.”

Zik laughed inwardly at Don Juan’s words.

    ‘You’re talking like a dog.’

There must be at least several thousand people who have been shot to death by the McCain cartel.

Zeke knew all too well the nature of the brutal cartel so Don Juan’s polite remarks sounded laughable.

He said patting Zeke on the shoulder.

“Zeke Murray prepared this as a proof of his trust.”

Then Don Juan took a box from the desk and handed it to Zeke.

Just by the size and weight of the box Zig could tell what was inside.

When he opened the box it was as expected.

    ‘Head of the Syndicate Chairman.’

Zeke glanced over and saw that there were five more boxes in total.

There were a total of six executives who came to McCain to celebrate Don Juan’s birthday.

    “Do you like the gift?”

Zeke closed the box and nodded.

“Boss’s trust. I saw it clearly.”

Then Don Juan smiled with satisfaction.

Then he slowly walked over and sat back down on the chair pretending to have a serious expression on his face.

    “But there is one problem.”

    “What is the problem?”

“It seems the Favela Cartel noticed that we were attacking them. They were talking nonsense about mobilizing knights and wizards from the Central Continent.”

It seemed like the favela side had bitten into the bait that Zig had scattered here and there.

    Don Juan said to Jacques.

“Zeke Murray. I want to give a clearer warning to those dirty pirates. The McCain Cartel is the owner of this southern continent.”

Zick nodded after hearing Don Juan’s words.

“I will go to the favela and convey the boss’s will.”

    “What? Really?”

Although he had intended to go that way Don Juan was surprised when Zig said he would go to the favela first.

Because I never thought that Zeke would volunteer to infiltrate.

    Zig said to Don Juan.

“Instead Boss please give Kay strength. So that she can properly fill the void left by the Syndicate.”

Don Juan nodded at those words.

“Yeah so in order to properly deliver our stuff you need to organize it too.”

“With the Boss’s help the noise of the Syndicate will soon disappear.”

    Don Juan nodded.

“Okay. Zeke Murray I will take responsibility and be her guardian.”

And then he clapped his hands.

Then someone suddenly popped out from the wall where there had been no one.

A man in an old military uniform with slicked-back hair and an eye patch over one eye.

It was someone that Zeke also knew.

    ‘Simon Zapatero.’

He was one of the top hitmen for the McCain Cartel and a notorious outlaw along the Southern border.

Don Juan patted Simon on the shoulder and said:

“I’ll put you in touch with the cartel’s top hitman and his unit. They’ll be a great help on this mission.”

Simon just nodded at Zeke his expression blank.

In his previous life Zeke had a connection with Simon.

Because it was none other than him who taught Zeke the Southern martial arts and assassination techniques.

    Zick said to Don Juan.

“As soon as the unit is ready we will go straight to the favela.”

    “Is that right?”

“The longer we wait the thicker the defenses on the favela side will become.”

Don Juan nodded at those words.

“Good. Simon I hope you complete your mission successfully.”

Simon as expected answered Don Juan’s words by nodding his head.

Zeke smiled sharply inwardly as he looked at Don Juan like that.

‘Don Juan you will gradually sink into the swamp without even realizing it.’

    * * *

    Thud! Thud!

Someone walked into a dungeon that was completely burned down.

A man with red hair that flows like a mane.

It was Abel Draker the knight who shook the continent with his nickname Lion Sword.

He bent down and examined the burning marks in detail.

Behind Abel William the successor to the Siemens family appeared.

“Abel. The investigation has already been completed. The Imperial Intelligence Agency has thoroughly searched it. There is nothing left to see.”

Abel didn’t respond and just went off somewhere.

He looked for the tiny traces left on the floor and walls and pictured them in his mind.

Then he slowly opened his mouth.

“There was only one person here William.”

William was startled by those words.

“What do you mean one person? At least one unit of wizards and knights…”

“No it’s clear. At least those who are at least as good as the Red Knights fought here.”

“What? A red knight in this remote southern village? That’s ridiculous.”

William looked at Abel in disbelief.

Abel slowly got up holding the blackened earth in his hand.

“There are traces of the information agency’s hasty actions. This means that something is secretly going on in the Empire that we don’t even know about.”

He sprinkled the dirt he was holding back onto the floor.

    Abel said to William.

“I need to know what the Imperial Intelligence Service is hiding.”

“You want to dig up the intelligence agency’s tail? How are you going to handle the aftermath?”

He said with a twinkle in his eye.

“There was something here that I couldn’t miss. My instincts told me William.”

Abel said looking at the traces left on the floor.

“If I want to hold both the Empire and the Drakes in my hands.”
