    Episode 490

When Zeke contacted him to meet Baron Draker personally visited Terra.

Baron Draker entered Terra and was astonished by its size and facilities.

The latest magic circles were installed everywhere and the touch of the dwarves could be felt in each and every building.

‘A continent-shaking fame natural talent and enormous wealth.’

    The Baron’s eyes deepened.

‘Zeke Draker has already become something beyond the scope of being evaluated as a mere knight.’

Baron toured Terra’s headquarters and went up to Zeke’s office where he was guided.

As the door opened Zeke greeted Baron.

    “Welcome Sir Baron.”

It was the first time I had come face to face with the Baron since Arthur Draker’s death.

“I’m glad you’re safe Sir Zeke.”

Since it was known to the public that Sieg had been attacked by the Siemens family the Baron gave a courtesy greeting.

Zeke nodded and guided Baron to the table in the center of the office.

As soon as he sat down Zeke prepared some tea for him and handed him a cup.

    “Please eat.”

Baron who didn’t know much about cars opened and closed his mouth with a blank expression.

“I heard you caught Howard Draker.”

At Baron’s words which brought up the main topic Zeke also put down his teacup and nodded.

    “Yes that’s right.”

Howard was one of those who moved with Baron under Arthur Draker’s orders.

Zeke watched Baron’s reaction to this.

And Baron bowed his head as he looked at such a Zig.

“As the leader of the Black Stage I would like to express my gratitude to Sir Zeke.”

Zeke narrowed his eyes at Baron’s unexpected reaction.

I thought he would offer a deal or pretend not to know about Howard’s whereabouts but I didn’t expect him to express his gratitude like this.

Baron continued speaking looking at Zeke.

“I’ve been following Howard Drake for quite some time because I sensed the distorted ambitions he had in mind.”

“Distorted ambition. Does that mean you coveted Drake’s power?”

Baron shook his head at Zeke’s words.

“It’s more than that. He knew he couldn’t handle the Drakers completely so he deliberately tried to weaken the power of the family to make it easier for him to move.”

In fact Howard drew on outside forces to secure his power.

Even the mafia organization Nostra Family and even Zeke’s plan reached out to Ishtar.

If I had the chance I would have joined hands with Siemens as well.

    The Baron continued.

“The late lord also knew of Howard’s ambitions. That’s why he tried to keep him close and watch over him. Otherwise he would have been a constant source of trouble for Draker.”

Arthur Draker meant to follow the adage of keeping your enemies closer.

Zeke wondered how much he could believe Baron’s words.

‘Arthur Draker might have actually done that. He might have kept Howard close and manipulated him into doing dirty work for him.’

Arthur Draker could not believe Baron’s words at face value as he had difficulty understanding his intentions.

    Zeke asked Baron.

“Did your lord entrust Baron Sir with the watch over Howard?”

“Yes. The more dangerous the entity the more cautiously you need to approach it. I kept the right-wing deputy commander by his side and kept watching him while dropping necessary information as bait.”

Souma the right-wing deputy commander was someone that Zeke also knew.

‘So you’re saying that Souma was acting as a double spy.’

If you are the head of the intelligence unit of the Black Stage you could easily take on the role of a double spy.

The question was how much of what Baron said was true.

For now Zeke decided to continue listening to Baron.

“The lord anticipated that after his death the shrewd Howard would try to take over the family by joining the race for succession.”

“Did you anticipate all this? Then why didn’t you appoint a successor? If the lord had accurately appointed a successor this chaos wouldn’t have happened in the first place.”

Baron shook his head at those words.

“The Lord’s thoughts were different. The reason is… Sir Zeke.”

Zeke looked surprised at Baron’s words.

    “What do you mean?”

The Baron took a sip of his tea and continued speaking.

“In fact the Lord wanted to nominate Sir Zeke as Draker’s successor. However… he hesitated about it until the very end.”

“So you’re saying that the lord was worried until the very end about whether I had the qualities to be his successor?”

    Then Baron shook his head.

    “No it’s the opposite.”

The Baron put down his teacup and said.

“The Lord felt that Sir Zeke was too talented to be kept in the Draker family.”

Zeke looked surprised at Baron’s words.

    ‘Arthur Draker?’

This was because the Arthur Draker he knew was never the type to value or care for someone’s qualities.

Baron spoke to Zeke who was surprised and at a loss for what to say.

“Do you know what one of the oldest principles of the Draker family is Sir Zeke?”

    Zeke nodded slowly.

“The Drakers exist only as a family. Is that what you mean?”

It was one of the principles that had been passed down in the Draker family for a long time.

The Draker family which boasts a longer history than the kingdoms of the Central Continent has maintained the form of a family in order to uphold its principles even though it could become a kingdom.

Baron opened his mouth again after hearing Zeke’s answer.

“Your Majesty believed that Lord Zeke would be able to break the first principle of the Draker family and establish a new order in the Central Continent.”

A material that can create a new kingdom or empire not just a Draker clan.

Zeke couldn’t help but be surprised when he heard Baron’s words.

Arthur Draker was outwardly the head of the Draker family and was renowned as the strongest man on the continent but behind the scenes he was a man who did not hesitate to commit dirty deeds.

As a man who would do anything to achieve his own goals Zeke could not help but constantly have doubts about Arthur’s death itself.

It was hard to believe that Arthur who was like that was evaluating Zeke in that way. Even if this was some kind of trap the fact that such a thing was said itself meant that such a thought was present to some extent.

As Zeke’s thoughts deepened Baron opened his mouth again.

“The Lord has commanded that you assist Sir Zeke in everything he needs to do to open a new beginning for Draker.”

“Are you saying that you are handing over Draker’s power to me?”

Baron shook his head at those words.

“The position of the head of the household will go to Lord Kali. In return… he said that he would give Lord Zeke the legacy of the overlord Arthur Draker including the Black Stage.”

Baron took a key out of his bosom and handed it to Zeke.

“This is the key to the Master’s legacy. I was only told to pass on this key but I do not know where the legacy exists.”

Zeke examined the key he had received from Baron.

It was just an ordinary old key made a long time ago.

    ‘Is there something hidden?’

Zeke decided to examine it more closely later and put the key in his pocket for now.

“Thank you Baron. As a result I have decided to follow your will. I have also decided to yield my position as head of the household to Sister Kali.”

    Baron nodded at those words.

“The Lord said that Sir Zeke would make that choice.”

    He continued looking at Zeke.

    “And there’s one more thing.”

Baron spoke in a more serious voice than before and Zeke looked at him with sunken eyes.

    Baron slowly opened his mouth.

“The Lord said that we must stop Ramon Siemens. If we fail to stop his treacherous actions the entire Central Continent will turn to ashes.”

Zeke recalled the Third Continental War of his previous life.

A dizzying image of the city with everything destroyed and blood and screams running wild flashed through my mind.

If Ramon Siemens had received his second baptism and gained the power of Ajitahaka the flesh-eating emperor it was clear that he would have waged a full-scale war using that terrifying power.

‘If I were to obtain the Demon King’s power… the world would become a battlefield.’

Zeke nodded with a serious expression agreeing that Ramon Siemens was dangerous although he didn’t know how much Arthur Draker knew.

“I think so too. But I haven’t found any trace of Ramon Siemens yet.”

Then Baron took a file out of his bosom and handed it to Zeke.

“Here is the location information of where Ramon Siemens is preparing for his transfer.”

Surprisingly the black stage had already figured out Ramon Siemens’ location.

At that moment Baron feeling puzzled and surprised by the fact lowered his head towards Zeke.

“The Black Stage now follows Lord Zeke Draker. Even if Lord Kali becomes the head of the household our true master will still be Lord Zeke. So if there is anything you need please let me know.”

Baron had chosen Zeke as the superior being over the head of the household in accordance with Arthur Draker’s will.

    ‘It’s a dark stage.’

It felt similar to when I received a black card in Arthur Draker’s name the other day.

It was definitely useful but I felt like it shouldn’t be used carelessly.

‘A double-edged sword is dangerous but it can be used wisely.’

He said looking at the Baron.

“Very well. From now on the Dark Stage is my people. Baron Drake. Will you swear allegiance to me?”

Baron looked up and said to Zeke.

    “I swear it my lord.”

Zeke nodded at Baron’s oath of loyalty.

Then he immediately gave the order.

“Assign Souma the right-wing deputy commander as an intermediary. If anything is needed I will contact you through him.”

    “Understood my lord.”

    Bring the enemy closer.

Zeke also decided to follow this adage.

Baron leaving Zeke with many things to think about said goodbye to him and left the office.

Zeke left alone opened the file Baron had left behind and looked through its contents.

Then he checked the location where Ramon Siemens was hiding.

    ‘I’ve come to see you.’

It was once the location of the capital of the Cronus Empire.

    * * *

    Boom! Boom! Boom!

The sound of hitting the wall echoed inside the cage made of solid black iron and fairy stone.

The knights guarding us gulped at that sound.

In front of them stood a dozen or so black magicians and on the other side stood a special magic corps carrying magic guns as well as black knights in black armor.

And sitting at the negotiating table were Ramon Siemens and Harvey West the priest of the Abyss.

Ramon Siemens whose face was more gaunt than before spoke as he looked at the priest possessed by the body of an apostle.

“I thought you would come as a main character today but you’re still a parasite.”

Despite Ramon’s provocative words the priest did not give in and spoke in a calm voice.

[Since the circumstances are what they are I ask for your understanding.]

Ramon Siemens clicked his tongue and gestured to the knights behind him.

Soon the knights came with a box on the table.

    thud!

Ramon Siemens stood up from his seat and slowly opened the box he had placed on the table.

Inside surprisingly was a living beating heart.

The priest looked closely at the heart with black veins protruding from it and nodded.

[Heart of Zeus the Mad Dragon. That’s for sure.]

Dragon Lord Zeus who was the contracted agent of Siemens Apollyon who started the Demon War during the era of the King of Heroes.

He was an unfortunate dragon who went mad after having his heart stolen by his contractor Siemens Apollyon.

Siemens Apollyon who had the heart of the dragon transplanted in this way gained the power of immortality and was ready to accept the Demon King.

Although Siemens Apollyon was lost during the war his heart was preserved by the Abyss and has been passed down to this day.

Then this heart was transplanted into Abel and he was reborn as a dragon.

Then due to the complicated relationship between Narak and Siemens Ramon Siemens removed Zeus’ heart from Abel’s body just in case.

The priest who had checked the heart nodded.

Then the warlocks standing behind chanted a spell towards the black cage.

    Kugugugugugu―

Our tightly closed walls are slowly beginning to open.

    Krrrrrrrr―

In it Abel’s appearance half transformed into a dragon man was revealed.

Even though he put in the heart of the Red Knight it was still not enough to handle the demon dragon energy that was devouring his body.

Ramon looked at Abel’s body with cold eyes and then nodded.

“Okay. I’ve confirmed it. I’ll put the heart back in on the second baptism day.”

    [I don’t accept that condition.]

Siemens and Narak have decided to re-establish a cooperative system for the second baptism.

The Abyss personnel put Abel back in the cage and opened a black portal to disappear.

Ramon’s eyes looking at the empty space left by Narak turned cold.

‘The moment the second baptism is over you too will kneel at my feet.’

He waited eagerly for the red moon to rise soon.
