    Episode 49

Zeke and Manuel’s forces approached the favela cartel’s main production camp.

Zeke saw smoke rising from beyond the jungle and realized that the camp was approaching so he told Manuel.

    “Wait here.”

    Manuel was surprised.

“Huh? Wait a minute. What do you mean?”

Manuel had become much more polite after seeing Zig single-handedly annihilate the werewolf army in an instant.

    Zeke said getting up.

    “I will enter alone.”

    Then he said to Manuel.

“All you have to do is report properly what happened upstairs.”

Zig left those words behind and dashed off into the jungle alone.

Manuel stood there blankly his expression blank.

The same was true for other unit members.

And then a moment later a huge explosion erupted from inside the camp.

A surprised Manuel looked back at his men.

    “What is going on?”

“Oh what should I do Commander?”

Manuel hesitated and then gestured to his men.

“Fuck. Let’s just go to the outskirts. Let’s see what happens and report back.”

    * * *

Zeke who approached the camp leaving Manuel’s unit behind continued forward using his free hand to his heart’s content.

‘I thought I was going to die from frustration trying to hide my strength.’

Since I was in a situation where my identity was hidden I couldn’t use all the strength I had.

The plan was to seal the Dragon’s Law and use the Southern Martial Arts and the Elemental Sword to destroy the camp.

‘This is enough for a cartel camp.’

Before the regression there were countless times when I would just storm into camps with my bare body without any of these techniques.

Back then you really had to risk your life every time you raided.

It wasn’t for nothing that Caesar told Zeke that he was crossing the line of death.

Zeke stood firmly in front of the thick fence of the camp.

He took out an ordinary claymore from his inventory and used his mana to draw out the power of fire.

    Whoosh whoosh!

The sword was engulfed in fire.

Zeke immediately swung his sword of fire at the fence.

    Kwakwakwakwakwang!

The force was stronger than expected so not only the fence but all the surrounding facilities collapsed.

‘I need to control my strength a little.’

It would have been easy to just cover everything up and smash them all up but since we had a purpose for coming here we needed to smash them carefully.

    “Raid! It’s an attack!”

“There is a wizard! Beware of magic!”

It seemed like they mistook the heatwave sword that Zeke swung for magic.

Taking advantage of the confusion Zeke entered the camp.

Then they moved towards the center of the camp which was guarded by members of the favela cartel.

There was a factory there that refined the soma leaves and turned them into powder.

And before he could get there there were people blocking Zeke’s path.

    “Intruder!”

A dozen or so members of the organization rushed toward Zig.

Zeke took a dagger out of his inventory.

    Whoosh!

He held a dagger in both hands and threw it at the rushing members of the organization.

    Purbuck!

The members of the organization who were hit with a dagger right between the eyebrows fell down.

Since Zig’s inventory contained hundreds of cheap daggers Zig threw them at his gang members without any concern for quantity.

    “Cough!”

Soon all the members of the organization who rushed in were dead with daggers stuck in their foreheads or hearts.

Zeke ran straight back towards the manufacturing facility.

    Kwakwakwakwa!

Something was coming towards Zig with a loud noise.

To his surprise several tanks equipped with magic engines were rushing towards Zigg.

‘They’re so expensive that they don’t even use it much in the Central Continent but they’ve stocked it up well.’

In the central continent knights and high-level battle magicians are preferred over magic weapons.

This is because magic weapons are not only expensive in themselves but also have high maintenance costs.

However the cartel is in a situation where knights and magicians are rare and money is plentiful.

It wasn’t for nothing that the biggest customers of the Matap and Nirvana families were the cartels.

Zeke pulled out Bahamut as he watched the tank rushing towards him completely encased in armor on all sides.

In my previous life if I saw a tank I would have avoided it first but now the situation was different.

His sword was engulfed in the power of the wind.

The technique frequently used by the master hero King Kaisir was displayed on Zig’s sword.

    Elemental Sword

    The Wind’s Field

    Storm Sword

The sword containing the will of the rough wind was swung towards the chariot.

    Hooooooooooooo!

A huge storm arose around Zig.

    Kwakwakwakwa!

The tank which seemed set to crush everything was caught in the storm and capsized.

    Kkwadduk!

Not only did it capsize but the force of the storm tore all of its outer armor off.

    “Eww! Save me!”

The members of the organization who were controlling the tank inside crawled out of it trembling with fear.

This is because the storm created by Zig formed a dragon’s fist and engulfed not only the tank but also all the surrounding production facilities pulling them up into the sky.

    “Wow. This is no joke.”

It was Zigg who was swinging it around and admiring it.

I didn’t realize it when I was just practicing but when I actually unfolded it its power was incredible.

In an instant the camp’s production facility itself was reduced to ashes.

The members of the organization who had been caught in the storm were trembling and screaming in fear.

    “Ah the devil has appeared!”

Zig cut off the head of the screaming member of the organization and turned on the map to check the location.

“Let’s see. Where was the secret passage in this camp before?”

This camp was also one of the places that Zeke had attacked and wiped out in his previous life.

And in my previous life I was able to capture one of the bosses of the favela cartel here and get various information.

It was also information that came out of his mouth that the Favela Cartel was originally a group of pirates.

As he looked at the map Zeke remembered the location of the secret passage.

“That’s right. It was the cave over there.”

Zeke ran quickly towards the cave at the back of the camp.

As he approached the cave several members of the organization were aiming crossbows at Zig.

    But Zeke’s sword was faster.

The heads of the gang members fell to the ground before the crossbow was even fired.

“You should have shot as soon as you aimed. Your training is a mess.”

Zig took the crossbows the members of the organization were holding and went inside the cave.

Inside there were also members of the organization guarding the area.

    “Intrusion bang!”

The first member of the organization he met was hit by a bolt shot by Zeke before he could finish speaking and fell down.

Because the bullet was aimed squarely at the lungs he would have suffered in agony and died without being able to scream.

Zeke showed mercy and killed him quickly by cutting off his head.

After that Zeke killed all the favela gang members he encountered inside the cave and found a secret passage.

    He went down the passage.

It was a tunnel connected to an old mine.

Zig who had turned on his Dragon Eye skill scanned the area around the tunnel.

‘Was it like this back then too?’

The walls and floor were in a good state of preservation for a simple mining tunnel.

In my previous life I was so focused on completing my mission that I didn’t have time to worry about this part so I missed it.

After turning on the map and identifying the location of the fleeing cartel boss Zeke leisurely entered the tunnel.

‘The more I look at it the less it seems like a mine. It’s more like an ancient ruin…’

The moment he had that thought something flew towards Zeke.

    Chomp!

Zeke caught the arrow flying towards his forehead.

    But that wasn’t the end.

Suddenly a sharp needle shot out from the arrow shaft and stabbed my palm.

    [Black Mamba venom detected.]

[You are not affected by poison due to the effect of the constitution that is immune to poison.]

Black mamba venom is a deadly poison with no antidote.

A method of putting deadly poison into an arrow assuming that it will be caught.

An assassination technique used to deal with knights in the Central Continent.

Knights who could use Aura would show off their skills by catching arrows with their hands instead of avoiding them.

It was a southern-style assassination method that exploited an arrogant attitude and killed him with poison a method that Zeke had also used many times in his past life.

As Zeke caught the arrow and tossed it aside someone appeared.

“What the heck. I thought you were a knight but you’re a brat. You used expensive poison for nothing.”

If Zeke hadn’t been able to neutralize the black mamba’s venom it would have died within five minutes bleeding from every orifice.

A man with hair all over his body slowly approached Zeke.

“Where the hell did you guys come from?”

At that question Zeke looked at the man and said.

    “Paulo Santos.”

The man flinched and stepped back in caution when Zeke said his name.

“You. How can you know my name? More importantly why aren’t you dead?”

    Zeke slowly approached Paulo.

Then Paulo noticed something strange and turned around to run away.

However it was impossible to move faster than Zigg who had mastered the whirlwind.

    Whoosh!

    Zeke passed Paulo.

Then he took out a dagger and stabbed it into Paulo’s thigh.

    “Kwaaaaak!”

Paulo screamed clutching his thigh where the dagger was stuck.

Zeke spoke to Paulo who tripped and rolled on the floor.

“Paulo I have a few questions to ask you.”

    Then Paulo spat at Zeke.

Zeke slightly turned his body to avoid the spit then lifted his foot and stepped on the dagger stuck in Paulo’s thigh.

    “Eww!”

He screamed and writhed as the dagger blade dug deep into his thigh.

Zeke pulled out another dagger and drove it into his shoulder.

    “Ugh!”

Zeke opened his mouth again as he watched Paulo tremble in pain and fear.

“Paulo. I know you’re a leader of the Favela Cartel. And I already know that the Favela Cartel is a group of South Sea pirates.”

Paulo raised his head in surprise at Zeke’s words.

    “What does that mean?”

“Pretending to be surprised. If I had been an actor I would have had a hard time making a living.”

Paulo was even more terrified than before.

Zeke took out a new dagger and held it to Paulo’s neck saying:

“If you want to live listen to me. Come with me to McCain. And tell your boss everything about the favela cartel. Then I’ll let you live.”

Paulo was surprised by Zeke’s words.

“What the hell is McCain! Don Juan sent you!”

Zeke held the dagger close to his neck.

“Watch what you say. Don’t call someone else’s boss by their name.”

“We never touched the McCain cartel! We respected each other’s territory!”

“Are those guys hanging around the syndicate trying to mess with the distribution network?”

    “That that….”

Paulo couldn’t help but be flustered when Zeke casually spoke about information that only the executives in the favela cartel knew.

    Zeke pushed Paulo further.

“The boss has no intention of letting you live. He’s going to launch an all-out attack until the favela is completely reduced to ashes and wipe out the entire race of dirty pirates. Do you understand?”

    Paulo rolled his eyes.

Then as if he had something equipped under his shoe he quickly moved to take out his weapon and sprayed it at Zig in an instant.

    “Ugh!”

What Paulo had sprayed was poison powder. Zeke was hit directly by it and fell to the side.

Paulo took advantage of the gap and limped away.

Zig who was hit by the poison powder rolled on the floor covering his face.

    “Kwaaah!”

He rolled around groaning until Paulo disappeared into the passage.

And only when Paulo was completely out of sight did he get up from his seat.

“I think this is enough. You idiot you must have forgotten that you weren’t poisoned by the black mamba earlier.”

The reason I came to Paulo was to give him information about the McCain cartel.

For the McCain Cartel and the Favela Cartel to collapse simultaneously there would have to be a tense war between them.

Zeke was aiming for that spot.

‘If they think Don Juan will launch an all-out attack the favelas won’t be able to sit still either.’

If a fierce war were to break out between McCain and the favelas Zeke would be there to dig in between.

Zig shook off the poison powder and turned around.

    “Then let’s finish it up…”

At that moment I felt a creepy feeling behind my back.

    WHEEK!

    Something flew towards Zeke.

    Whirlyrick!

He quickly rolled to the side to avoid the attack.

‘A sword attack with an aura.’

It was a Central Continent style swordsmanship not a southern style attack.

    I looked back.

Several men in black armed with swords were blocking Zeke’s front and back surrounding him.

Zeke gritted his teeth and drew his sword.

These were guys he knew too well.

    “Come you damned imperial hounds.”
