A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 484
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 484
Yellin’s shock didn’t end with meeting Ignis.
【My name is Silion. I have come to you after hearing your wish for summoning.】
The superior spirit of the wind appeared.
【Noesra Hao. Who called me?】
Then the upper spirits of the earth appeared.
【Who called me?】
Even the higher level water spirits showed up.
‘This is ridiculous.’
Even Yellin who was born with the abilities of a high elf through ancestral reversion was limited to making contracts with spirits of two attributes.
However Zeke summoned four superior spirits of different attributes and even made contracts with all of them.
Yellin was in awe of Zeke’s astonishing affinity for spirits.
After completing his contract with the spirits Zeke released his polymorph and returned to human form.
‘When you return to being human your affinity with spirits has definitely decreased.’
Let’s try it in human form. Only low-level spirits can be summoned.
Still with the power of the ancient dragon’s heart and title he was able to conclude contracts with all four great spirits.
As he looked back proudly on his contract with the spirits one question occurred to Zig.
‘Come to think of it the shadow spirits I dealt with were spirits too.’
Although Zig was already handling spirits he was unaware of them because the summoning method was different from that of regular spirits.
Zeke approached Yellin who was still unconscious and asked him.
“Mr. Yellin have you ever heard of the Shadow Spirit?”
Yellin who had finally come to his senses after hearing Zeke’s words tilted his head.
“This is the first time I’ve heard of shadow spirits.”
Zeke was surprised that Yellin a high elf did not know about the existence of shadow spirits.
‘Does this mean that the shadow summons I handle including the dragon warriors are different from the normal spirits?’
Most spirits including the four great spirits were beings created by embodying the energy of nature.

However shadow spirits are spirits that have become spirits through being possessed by the power of shadows or fallen souls.
Although they are called spirits strictly speaking their creation process is different from that of regular spirits.
‘Come to think of it the power of shadows is related to the Goddess of Chaos who was sealed under the name of Theia. Perhaps the shadow spirits are those created by the Goddess of Chaos.’
God of Chaos Shadow Dragon Bahamut Power Shadow King Dark Sword Levatein.
The power of shadows the great axis of Zeke’s abilities were ultimately connected as one.
He also suspected that this power might be part of a device set up by the sealed God of Chaos to create a rift in the world.
As Zeke’s thoughts grew deeper Himel came to the garden.
“A message from the Sage Castle has arrived Sir Jik.”
A small man with his face hidden behind a helmet approached Zig.
He took off the cloak he was wearing.
To his surprise he took off his cloak and was met with the sight of Helen Draker in steel armor.
Zeke had lent his shape-shifting cloak to Helen and asked her to secretly deliver a message from Kali.
Helen said looking at Zeke.
“Zeke Howard took the bait.”
Zeke’s eyes sparkled at Helen’s words.
He nodded and opened his mouth.
“It is time to start hunting.”
* * *
A few days later Howard was contacted by Carly and secretly went to the location she had told him about.
He drove his carriage to the mansion on the outskirts of Atlas.
As they disembarked from the carriage Howard and his knights were greeted by an unusual group of prayer warriors.
Howard instinctively realized that these were the mystics of Ishtar.
He followed their guidance and entered the mansion.
Howard entered the living room and found Carly there already there.
“King Kali.”
Carly nodded and greeted Howard as she sat down.
Then he pointed to the person sitting across from him and said:
“I am Yelin Ishtar heir to the Ishtar family. I am the Howard Congressman I spoke to before the Sogaju.”
A man wearing Ishtar-style attire and a mask on his face slowly looked at Howard.
From the gaze felt beyond the mask Howard could sense the power of the successor to the Ishtar family the Transcendent Family.
As Kali gestured Howard approached Ishtar’s successor and greeted him.
“Greetings to the Lord of Ishtar. My name is Howard Draker a member of the Draker Cross.”
Even after receiving Howard’s introduction Sogaju didn’t say much.
Then Carly said to Howard.
“Please understand that Sogaju is not familiar with the Central Continent language. However I can listen and understand without any problem so feel free to speak. Please sit down.”
Howard sat down at Carly’s words.
Although he had said that he wanted to see Ishtar’s person himself as he needed evidence for Kali’s words he was overwhelmed by the atmosphere when they actually met.

Then Sogaju whispered something to Kali.
Carly nodded after listening to the story and relayed it to Howard.
“Congressman Howard if you mention yourself anywhere else Ishtar’s ravens will come looking for you.”
Howard’s face turned pale at the mention of Ishtar’s raven.
Even though he was a Drake he never wanted to become a target of the Ishtar Mystics.
Howard nodded trying to remain calm.
Then Sogaju took off the mask he was wearing.
A long scar across the eye area on brown skin.
She was none other than Himel the leader of the Crow Unit.
Howard only knew the name and gender of Ishtar’s successor through information from the Black Stage.
‘It seems like what Carly Draker said about joining hands with Ishtar is true.’
That is why Howard had no choice but to believe that Himel was Ishtar’s successor.
At that time Himel spoke in the unfamiliar Central Continent language.
“Kill. Zeke Draker. Help. Kali Draker. Us.”
Howard’s expression changed as he heard Himel’s words.
“Does that mean you’re helping kill Zeke Draker?”
Himel nodded.
This proved once again that what Carly had said was true.
Himel opened his mouth again.
“The price. Venus. It’s necessary.”
Venus one of the major cities of the empire was located on the border with Ishtar’s realm.
Howard’s face hardened at Ishtar’s demand for an entire city in exchange for the assassination.
But then Carly said to Howard
“It wouldn’t be a big price to pay to take out Zeke Draker if he were to escape and come after us from behind things would be even worse.”
Howard nodded his mind changing at Carly’s words.
The man known as Zeke Draker was by no means an opponent to be taken lightly.
Howard opened his mouth as if he had made up his mind.
“Okay I will do that.”
Himel looked satisfied with Howard’s words.
Carly looked at Howard and said.
“Now we just need to set a trap to catch Zeke Draker. Do you have any ideas Senator?”
Howard nodded to Carly’s words.
“There is a good way if the mystics of Ishtar help.”
He continued lowering his voice.
“We will soon be holding a simple funeral for the former head of the family. The head of the family will have a time to pay their respects in front of the coffin placed in the basement so it would be a good idea to wait for that time.”
Carly nodded as if she understood.
“Surely Zeke’s escort knights will be waiting outside then.”
“Yes the poison of Ishtar’s mystics is known to work even on the Black Knights so if we subdue Sieg Draker with the poison and deal with him quietly then frame him with an ambush by the remnants of Siemens there will be no problem.”
Carly looked satisfied after hearing Howard’s plan.
“Okay. Is there anything I can help you with?”
“Sir Kali please prevent the knights of Zeke Draker from coming down to the underground space. Then after the matter is over you can set the mood by first declaring that Zeke Draker has been ambushed with the Knights of the White Knights. I will prepare the rest.”
“Okay I’ll get ready.”
When the situation was resolved a satisfied Howard stood up and said
“We will hold the funeral ceremony in three days after the funeral procedures are completed.”
* * *
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The funeral procession carrying Arthur Drake’s casket passed down Atlas Avenue.
A priest carrying a bell led the funeral procession followed by a line of black-robed knights of the Drakers.
At the very front of the procession were Kali and Zeke Helen direct descendants of the family.
Originally a more grand and elaborate funeral procession was planned but due to various reasons including issues with Siemens and the current political situation it was greatly simplified.
After the funeral procession Arthur Draker’s coffin was taken to the crypt of Winterkeep the innermost of the Four Seasons Castles.
Deep within Winterkeep’s walls were the tombs of the past heads of House Draker.
Arthur Draker was also scheduled to be laid to rest in that sacred space.
One of Draker’s traditions was to place the casket in a memorial space before it was moved to the cemetery so that relatives could visit and spend the last moments with the deceased.
Carly and Helen took turns entering the memorial space to pay tribute to Arthur Drake.
And then it was Zeke’s turn.
Zeke ordered Duke and the other members of the Black Spirit Corps to wait outside.
Just as they were about to enter Liam said to Zeke.
“My lord the atmosphere at Sagyeseong is currently tense so I think it would be best for at least one person to come down as an escort.”
As Liam tried to go down to the basement with Zeke the Silver Knight who was guarding in front stopped Liam with his sword.
“Memorials may only be given to one direct blood relative at a time.”
The Black Spirits behind the Knights of Baek stepped forward grabbing their swords at the somewhat rude actions of the Knights of Baek.
Although they were once comrades who fought together they were now in a situation where they were in conflict over the position of the next head of the family so they could not help but react sensitively to each other.
Then Zeke raised his hand.
“Okay. Don’t make a fuss over useless things.”
Only after hearing Zeke’s words did the Black Spirits take their hands off the hilts of their swords.
He passed Kali and the Silver Knights with an indifferent expression and went down to the basement.
The Black Sword Knights including the Black Spirit Corps glared at the Silver Knights and stood with a sharp demeanor as if they would jump out at any moment if something happened.
While the two knights were fighting for supremacy Zeke descended into the Winterkeep dungeon and entered the memorial hall where Arthur Draker’s coffin was laid to rest.
The coffin placed in the middle of the memorial space was decorated so extravagantly that it seemed excessive and Zick frowned slightly as he looked at it.
But he didn’t show it any more and instead picked up the incense lit it and put it in the censer placed in front of the coffin.
Zik stared at the incense burning endlessly in front of the coffin.
As time passed and the incense all fell to ashes Zig slowly turned around.
But then it happened.
Zeke’s body swayed.
“This is…..”
He turned his head and looked at the incense in the censer.
“Do you also poison…?”
As I felt dizzy and tried to hold onto the wall the door leading out of the memorial space closed.
Woohoo!
Zeke shouted pounding on the closed door urgently.
“It’s an ambush! Is there anyone out there? An ambush….”
At that moment a magic circle appeared across the entire wall of the memorial hall and a gravitational field spread out toward Zeke repelling him.
“Eww!”
Zeke hurriedly took off his gloves and tried to deflect the magic power but it was useless because the magic circle’s output was so high.
Kookung!
At that moment the lid of the coffin opened and the black-clad people hiding inside jumped out.
Wheeeeeek―
The men in black displayed their bloodline abilities and suppressed Zeke’s body preventing him from moving.
Woohoo!
“Euuuuuu!”
With the poison gravity field and blood system powers added to the mix even the black knight Zikra couldn’t withstand it.
Even now Ishtar’s sorcerers holding deformed swords jumped out from the floor and instantly surrounded Sieg.
After raising his sword in the opposite direction he pressed against him and at one point stabbed Zeke in the back and side while he was leaning against the door.
Pok! Pok! Pok!
Because it happened so quickly Zeke was unable to respond properly.
“Eww!”
Zeke collapsed against the door bleeding.
Himel looked down at such a Zig and plunged his sword straight into his heart.
Bam!
Zeke bled to death with his eyes open without even being able to say a word.
As the situation ended the back door of the memorial room opened and Howard who had been hiding there appeared.
Howard approached the fallen Zeke confirmed his death and spoke to his men behind him.
“Recover Zeke Draker’s body and bring it to the lab. Then send a signal to Carly. That the plan was a success.”
