A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 483
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 483
Long ears and a slender body.
And the elven aura is clearly felt.
It was clearly Zeke who appeared as an elf.
Yellin looked at Zeke with an expression of utter disbelief.
“Uh how?”
“Zeke who had been polymorphed into an elf spoke calmly.
“It is the power of the Fairy King.”
The Fairy King’s excuse which he uses when things are difficult to explain has appeared again this time.
Yellin tilted his head with a stern expression as if he had difficulty understanding how a human could become an elf no matter how powerful the Fairy King was.
But no matter how much I thought about it since Zeke had already turned into an elf there was no point in thinking about it any more.
Zeke changed the subject as he looked at Yellin like that.
“Now that I’m an elf I can learn elemental magic right?”
“Oh that’s right. That’s right.”
This was the first time something like this had happened so Yellin felt like she had to try it herself to see what would happen.
Looking at Yellin’s face which seemed unsure Zeke thought about the system. The reason Zeke wanted to learn spirit magic from Yellin was none other than to properly use the newly acquired dragon skill ‘spirit magic.’
At first he used the spirit magic as he usually did with his dragon skills. But then a message window popped up.
[The contract with the spirit did not proceed.]
[In order to perform spirit magic you must first go through the contract process with the spirit.]
According to the message it seems that a contract with a spirit must be made first before skills can be used.
So he tried to find information about spirit magic using the Akashic code and proceed with the contract on his own but all of them failed.
Apart from reaching the level of Grand Master it seemed that communion with the spirits required something else.
So I asked Yellin a high elf who deals with spirits.
Yellin slowly opened his mouth while looking at Zeke.
“How much do you know about spirits Sir Zeke?”
“I only know what is known. It is said that the energy that resided in natural objects took shape as spirits over a long period of time and the Fairy King gave them names becoming the spirits we know today.”

Yellin nodded at Zeke’s answer.
“That’s right. Spirits are beings that are made up of the power of nature and are around us. Therefore you need to be able to feel the power of nature and feel their presence in order to make a contract with them.”
Zeke tilted his head at Yellin’s words.
“Is the power you are talking about different from Mana?”
Yellin nodded.
“Mana is a power that is the source of everything so it is a little different. Sir Zig come this way.”
Zeke followed Yellin and stood in front of a large tree in the garden.
“Extend your hand.”
As he said Zeke touched the tree.
Yellin said holding Zeke’s hand which was on the tree.
“How is it? Can you feel the breath of the trees?”
“…I can feel Yellin’s breath.”
Yellin was startled by Zeke’s words and stepped back.
“You have to feel the breath and vitality of the tree not just your own. Trees are something that connects nature and living things. They are one of the things that we can feel vitality from most easily.”
Zeke nodded after hearing Yellin’s words and then concentrated on feeling the life force from the tree.
Perhaps because I had polymorphed into an elf the sensations I felt were definitely different from when I was human.
However the range in which I could feel the energy was so wide that I was confused as to what Yellin meant by vitality.
Because of that while I was wandering around for a bit something suddenly occurred to me.
I could feel the tree breathing.
‘Is this what vitality is?’
Zik tried to breathe with the tree and feel the life force contained within it.
The more I breathed the more I felt myself becoming one with the tree.
It felt as if I had become a tree myself.
Zeke slowly opened his eyes wary that his consciousness was fading away.
But when he opened his eyes Yellin was looking at him with a look of bewilderment.
“Why are you doing this Yellin?”
Yellin slowly raised his finger and pointed toward the top of the tree.
‘huh?’
Looking up at the tree he saw countless tiny beings sitting on the branches looking at Zig.
Yellin said embarrassed.
“I have never seen so many tree spirits gathered together before.”
“Are they tree spirits?”
Yellin nodded and said.
“Yes that’s right. It’s hard to see such vivid tree spirits unless you’re in a forest full of natural energy… Sir Zig is truly an amazing person.”
The tree spirits that had been sitting on the branches came down and circled around Zig.
The spirits seemed to feel a sense of familiarity with Zeke jumping around beside him and shaking their bodies happily.
‘Come to think of it I have the title of Guardian of the Earth Companion of the Forest and Guardian of the Divine Blessing.’

It was only natural that he would be loved by the spirits as he had been blessed by the God of the Forest and the God of the Earth while seeking the God of the New World.
Zeke asked Yellin as he watched the tree spirits moving around him.
“Then should I make a contract with the spirits of this tree?”
Then Yellin shook his head.
“The spirits of the trees are primordial spirits that have retained their natural form. They have not been given names by the Fairy King so they cannot make contracts.”
“That means you can only make a contract with a spirit that has been given a name by the Fairy King.”
“That’s right. The Fairy King gave names only to the spirits of the four elements: water fire wind and earth.”
“That’s the Four Great Spirits. Then we can summon them and make a contract.”
“It’s not easy to summon the four spirits but… Judging from the appearance of the tree spirits it seems like Sir Zigg’s affinity for spirits is extraordinary so it seems possible.”
“That’s great. Can you summon all four spirits and make a contract with them?”
Yellin shook her head at those words.
“It is actually impossible to encompass all spirits with different attributes. Usually only one spirit of one attribute can be contracted and even those who are truly talented can only contract with two spirits of the same attribute that can be linked.”
After finishing speaking Yellin stretched out her hand toward the ground.
Kkuddeuk!
After a while a small clay figure appeared from the ground.
“I am a gnome one of the spirits of the land I made a contract with. And.”
This time she reached out towards the sky.
A strong wind blew and a translucent figure of a young girl appeared.
The wind spirit circled around Yellin’s body.
“I am a Sylph a spirit of the wind. I can make contracts with spirits of both earth and wind attributes.”
Zeke looked at the gnomes and sylphs summoned by Yellin with curiosity.
“I’ve seen water spirits before but this is my first time seeing earth and wind spirits.”
Zeke spoke recalling the water spirit that Nerissa the leader of the Deep Sea Tribe had summoned using ancient spirit magic.
Zeke who had been observing them for a while looked at Yellin and asked.
“Which spirit would you like to summon first?”
“It depends on your affinity for the spirits you have but… usually the easiest to feel is the fire spirit.”
Zeke looked surprised.
“Elf and fire don’t seem to go together but surprisingly they do.”
“Fire is an important element to the elves as well. They use it to harden the earth and burn trees to obtain what they need. However the fire elemental is powerful but difficult to control.”
Zeke nodded after hearing Yellin’s words.
“I see. Then if you tell me how I’ll give it a try.”
He decided to follow Yellin’s advice and light a fire in a corner of the garden and perform a ritual to summon the fire spirit.
‘We have to light a fire.’
Without thinking much Zeke used his elemental power to create pure fire.
Yellin asked in surprise as white flames burst into the air.
“Did you know that Sir Zeke can use magic too?”
“No. This too is by the power of the Fairy King…”
As I kept making excuses about the Fairy King Yellin also started looking at me with suspicion.
Zeke tried hard to avoid Yellin’s gaze and reached out his hand toward the pure fire.
I tried to feel its presence by breathing with the fire just like when I felt the spirit of the tree.
Woohoo!
At some point the white flame floating in the air began to sway violently.
Zig who was concentrating on breathing with his eyes closed did not notice the change.
However Yellin who was next to him was bewildered by the unusual wave of energy she felt from Zeke.
‘Isn’t it originally like this?’
It was only a small flame that rose but now he could feel a strong energy coming from Zeke. This was completely different from what Yellin knew.
That was when.
Whoosh whoosh!
The white flame rippled greatly and something rose up greatly within it.
Kwakwakwakwa!
Yellin gaped at the sight of a huge blaze that seemed as if it would engulf the entire garden.
Soon the flames came together to form a single shape.
【Who called me?】
The spirit’s will dug right into my head.
‘Oh my goodness.’
Yellin couldn’t help but be surprised.
It was impossible for ordinary spirits to convey their intentions so directly.
However the giant ape-man wearing armor made of flames that appeared in front of Zeke and Yellin was clearly conveying his thoughts.
Yellin knew his identity right away.
‘The superior spirit of fire. Ignis?’
Ignis the most aggressive and powerful of all spirits was a high-level spirit that was almost impossible to appear in the material world.
Zeke who had opened his eyes without realizing it tilted his head at the sight of the summoned Ignis.
“Mr. Yellin is this correct?”
Yellin said embarrassed by Zeke’s words.
“That’s true but….”
Yellin was so flustered that she couldn’t speak properly as she didn’t know that a high-level spirit would be summoned right away.
Zeke saw Ignis who had been summoned while Yellin was hesitating and spoke out of the blue.
“Spirit of Fire. I want to make a contract with you.”
Ignis with flames engulfing his entire body looked down at Zeke and spoke.
【This is the first time since Caesar that someone saw me and said they wanted to sign a contract right away.】
King Caesar the hero.
It seemed like he had also made a contract with Ignis.
Zeke said looking at Ignis.
“Well then that’s good. I am the successor to the heroic King Caesar. Make a contract with me. The spirit of fire.”
【…Are you a disciple of Caesar? The actions of a master and disciple are similar.】
Ignis looked down at Zeke with a slightly bewildered expression then looked at Yellin next to him and said.
【It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a high elf. Did you help me summon him?】
Yellin responded in bewilderment to Ignis’ words directed at her.
“Noble spirit that is not true. It was only the power of Lord Zeke that summoned Ignis.”
Ignis looked at Zeke as if he was curious about Yellin’s words.
【For an elf he is as aggressive as a human and I can feel the mysterious power of a dragon inside his body. He is truly a strange being.】
It was Ignis who showed proper interest in Zeke only after slowly examining him.
He soon nodded.
【This is the first time since Caesar that I have seen such a unique being. I like it. I will make a contract with you. Tell me your name.】
At Ignis’ words Zeke immediately said the name.
“Zeke Draker.”
【I make a contract with you through my long-standing oath with the Elven King Zeke Draker. We will be each other’s strength as soul mates.】
Woohoo!
The flames that erupted from Ignis’ body enveloped Zeke and seeped into his arm.
Tsk tsk tsk―
A flame-shaped pattern was engraved on Zeke’s arm but soon the color faded and disappeared.
Along with that Ignis’s appearance also gradually dispersed.
【Zeke Draker let me await your call.】
As soon as he finished speaking Ignis transformed into a giant flame and disappeared.
As Ignis disappeared Yellin finally let out her breath that had been holding her breath.
“Oh my god… A high-level spirit suddenly appears. It’s hard to believe even after seeing it with my own eyes Sir Zeke.”
“It’s all thanks to Yellin.”
Even after summoning the superior spirit Ignis and making a contract Zeke seemed unmoved.
Yellin slumped down on the garden floor seemingly drained of energy by her encounter with Ignis.
Then Zeke said to Yellin.
“Then shall we move on to the next one?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
Yellin thought he would faint when he heard Zeke’s next words.
“Now that we’ve summoned fire shouldn’t we summon other spirits as well? How about wind next?”
Yellin’s gaping mouth wouldn’t close.
