    Episode 482

    Carly’s shocking declaration.

‘You want to eliminate Zeke Draker for the House of Lords?’

It was common among those in power to engage in fratricide to gain power.

Rather it would have been welcome news to Howard if Carly Draker had decided to take out Zeke Draker first.

After all he was bothered by Zeke Draker who reminded him of the previous head of the family.

‘It would be easier if Carly Draker would hit Zeke Draker first.’

Howard who had been rolling his head carefully opened his mouth.

“Eliminate Sir Zeke. Are you really so determined?”

Carly said with a cold expression.

“The only candidate who can stand in my way right now is Zeke. Helen has already sworn allegiance to me and Abel and Bacchus are dead.”

“That is true but… taking down Ser Zeke the Black Knight and Draker’s Guardian Knight will be no easy task. He also has Duke Draker the former Black Knight behind him.”

“The Sword King is behind me.”

    King of Swords Bernas.

With Arthur Draker dead the most powerful member of the Draker family was Bernas.

Duke who had long ago lost the power of the Black Knight and withdrew from the front lines could not live up to the reputation of the Sword King.

    Then Carly said

“Ishtar has agreed to help eliminate Sieg Drake.”

Howard was taken aback by her words.

‘Ishtar actually helps kill Sieg Draker? Why?’

Howard pondered the question and soon found the answer.

‘Even Ishtar is wary of that guy becoming the head of the household.’

Zeke Draker was growing at an unprecedented rate. If he became the head of the family he would become a monster even greater than Arthur Draker so the rival family Ishtar could not help but be wary.

So Howard was sure that from their perspective they would have decided that it would be better for Carly Draker to be the head of the household rather than Zeke Draker.

‘If the Sword King supports us and even Ishtar lends us her strength we have a good chance of winning.’

Howard nodded slowly and said to Carly.

“I understand your intentions Lord Kali. However this is not an easy decision to make. It involves a huge amount of risk…”

“I promise to promise Congressman Howard the position of Executive Director.”

Just as Howard was about to bring up the terms of the deal Carly stepped in first.

    ‘Executive Director?’

The executive director of the Draker family could be said to be the one who holds the central power of the Four Seasons.

When Arthur Draker was the head of the household the position of Executive Director was vacant.

This was because Arthur Drake who held absolute power also served as the Executive Director.

The position that could check the authority of the head of the family and sometimes even exercise authority greater than that of the head of the family was the executive director. However the position of executive director was first proposed by Kali.

Carly looked at Howard and said.

“If you can convince the council and give us a chance Draker will have his name recorded in history.”

Howard was completely taken by Carly’s suggestion.

‘If I remove Zeke Draker and put Kali Draker forward I can control not only Midland but the entire Central Continent.’

A plan was forming in his head.

Howard hid his feelings sighed and nodded reluctantly.

“I can’t help it when Lord Kali says so. For the sake of Draker’s future… it must be a necessary choice.”

Howard paused for a moment as if he was thinking then looked up and spoke to Carly.

“But before we put this plan into action there’s something we need to check.”

    “What are you talking about?”

    Howard said looking at Carly.

“Please let me meet Ishtar in person.”

    * * *

    Wheeeeeek―

Yellin’s dagger dug sharply into Zig.

Then Zeke read the trajectory of Yellin’s sword and attacked through the gap in the sword’s path.

    Shhhhhhhhh

Even before he could reach Zeke the flow of swordsmanship was already broken making it difficult for Yellin to continue his attacks.

    Wheeeeeek―

Yellin backed off doing a somersault.

He was quite tired his face covered in cold sweat.

Zeke looked at Yellin like that and put his dagger away and said.

    “I’ll stop here.”

As soon as he heard his words Yellin collapsed to the floor.

    “Haa. Haa.”

As she was breathing heavily Himel of the Crow Clan approached her and handed her a towel and water.

    “Are you okay my lord?”

Himel knew that Yellin would not tire from this level of sparring.

Of course if it was a normal sparring match that would have been the case. Currently Yellin asked Zeke to maintain the momentum of the Black Knight and engage in the match.

If it had been a normal article it would not have been able to move properly due to Zeke’s momentum but Yellin showed great skill by counterattacking.

Luther Gemben who was watching from the side looked amazed.

“As Sir Zeke said the martial arts of the Ishtar family seem to have been based on ancient elven hunting techniques.”

It was Luther Gemben who had officially joined the Black Sword Knights and decided to serve Zeke as his lord.

As he was a scholar under Sultan Scheherazade when he was in the Murk Empire he was also knowledgeable about the ancient martial arts of the Eastern Continent.

Zeke spoke to Luther as if he had just remembered.

“When I was invited to the palace I had the opportunity to fight Saladin the Assassin. He also used similar techniques.”

When Luther heard the name Saladin he was surprised and asked

    “Saladdin. Is he still alive?”

“The Sultan wanted to persuade him somehow. He was a stubborn warrior so I don’t know if he would change his mind.”

Luther nodded after hearing Zeke’s words.

“Since the assassin has shown strength beyond human limits it is understandable why the Sultan does not let him go easily.”

“That’s true. The skills he showed were certainly impressive.”

Zeke said pointing to Yellin who was resting across from him.

“I wish Lord Luther would teach Yellin and the Ravens the hunting skills of the ancient elves.”

Luther was surprised by Zeke’s words.

    “To the magicians of Ishtar?”

Draker and Ishtar were two opposing families with long feuding ties and had little contact with each other.

There was no reason for Drake Zigg to do anything that could help Ishtar.

However Zeke thought this was necessary. The reason Zeke wanted to strengthen the power of the rival clan Ishtar was none other than to prepare for the war with Narak.

‘The coming war will become more intense.’

It was impossible for the human army alone to deal with the Abyss and the legions of demons it summoned.

Just like during the time of the King of Heroes and the War of Liberation everyone on the continent would have to join forces to fight against the Demon King’s army.

Zeke looked at Luther and said.

“Don’t worry you can tell me everything you know. Even if they come after me with the elf-hunting skills they learned from Lord Luther I won’t blame you.”

Luther nodded as if he understood what Zeke had said.

At that moment Yellin suddenly approached Zeke and opened his mouth.

“Sir Zeke please ask me again.”

Even though he had not yet fully recovered his physical strength he asked Zeke to spar with him again.

Then Zeke looked at Yellin and said.

“After today we will no longer have duels. Instead Lord Luther here will teach you the hunting skills of the ancient elves.”

Yellin and Himel were surprised once that Luther a human knew the hunting techniques of the ancient elves and again that he taught them.

Zeke said looking at the surprised Yellin.

“It may not be a condition for that but I have a favor to ask of you Yellin.”

    “What do you want?”

Yellin perked up her ears because Zeke was the type of person who rarely asked others for favors.

Zeke felt the eyes of the others watching him and Yellin’s conversation with interest so he turned his head and spoke quietly.

“How about we take a walk and talk?”

Zeke and Yellin turned away from everyone else’s gaze and headed toward the garden behind the mansion.

The place where he was currently staying was one of the safe houses located on the outskirts of Atlas away from the sight of the Draker Council or the Dark Stage.

Zeke took a leisurely stroll through the garden at the back of the mansion with Yellin.

But Yellin who was walking together was not relaxed.

‘I wonder why Sir Zeke is taking such a long time to ask me such a favor all of a sudden.’

All sorts of thoughts ran through Yellin’s head.

Unlike Zeke who had a calm expression Yellin was alone and worried.

“Zeke said pointing to a bench in the garden.

“Please sit over here for a moment.”

Yellin sat next to Zeke on the bench.

It was something I had been hoping to do for a long time but when we were actually sitting together my mind was in a state of confusion as to what to say.

In fact it was Zeke who had something to ask so there was no need to bring it up first but with all the talk going around here and there Yellin ended up blurting out a word without realizing it.

“What happened between you and the Sultan at that time?”

As soon as I said those words regret came over me.

    ‘What am I saying now…!’

After the ordeal was over Yellin was concerned that Zeke and Scheherazade were meeting separately.

After drinking alcohol and getting drunk on emotions he even danced with a sword and the next day he kicked the blanket and was in agony.

Still Yellin’s expression became gloomy thinking that she had made another mistake.

On the other hand after hearing Yellin’s words Zeke thought for a moment and then opened his mouth and answered.

“I have made a covenant of fidelity with the Sultan.”

    “Just every oath?”

This time Yellin spoke again and regretted it.

Zeke nodded indifferently to Yellin’s words.

“Aside from the oath… is there anything you are curious about about the Sultan?”

    “Oh no not really…”

It was Zeke who did not understand Yellin’s feelings at all.

Yellin let out a sigh of relief without realizing it when Zeke said that he had entered the same room as the beautiful Sultan and came out without incident.

And then he was startled by his own actions.

    ‘Come to your senses.’

Yellin once said that he would spend his life with martial arts.

But after meeting Zeke that resolution was shattered at some point.

Zeke looked at Yellin with curiosity as her expression changed from moment to moment.

Zeke had never known before that Yellin had so many different expressions.

It was not boring to just watch Yellin’s face which seemed to be carved from the essence of beauty continuously change in various ways.

Zeke stared blankly at Yellin and then opened his mouth.

“Before I ask you a favor there is something I would like to ask you Yellin.”

He took something out of his inventory.

A dagger with a black blade.

    It was Annex’s dagger.

    Yellin said in surprise.

“Isn’t this a sign of the Black River?”

A dagger owned by the dark elf Annexy the chieftain of the Black River Tribe.

It was also a symbol of the oath that bound the Ishtar family to the border area.

Zeke said looking at Annex’s dagger.

“The oath has been lost so its effect as a token has been lost but this dagger has indestructible properties. I think you will find it useful Yellin.”

Yellin accepted the dagger of Annexy that Zeke had handed her with trembling hands.

It felt like it was a dagger that was originally meant for Yellin and it fit snugly in my hand.

“Can you give me something so precious?”

Since Zeke already had the Holy Sword and the Black Sword he didn’t really need Annexy’s Dagger.

It was actually more helpful to him that Yellin who had become his colleague became stronger.

“If Yellin writes it well that will be enough.”

Yellin’s head was filled with all sorts of thoughts as she thought about Zeke’s sudden action of giving her such a precious gift.

‘Could it be that Sir Zeke is finally proposing to me…?’

Her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to burst.

Yellin was wondering how to respond if Zeke proposed.

In her head she was already thinking about where she and Zig would set up their new home after they returned from their honeymoon after they had prepared a new room and set up training together as warriors.

But the words that came out of Zeke’s mouth were completely unexpected.

“I would like to learn spirit magic from Yellin.”

    “I’m fine with that too.”

The two people looked at each other.

    “yes?”

    “ah?”

Zeke nodded after hearing Yellin’s words.

“I didn’t know you would enjoy teaching me the art of spiritism so much.”

Yellin’s face turned bright red at Zeke’s words.

Then he opened his mouth lowering his head and forcing a smile.

    “Yeah that’s right. Hahaha.”

With an awkward laugh Yellin slowly found her way back to her senses.

She said this to Zeke with a very deflated face.

“But Sir Zeke. Humans cannot learn spirit magic. Even among elves only those with a high affinity for spirits can learn it…”

    Woohoo!

Suddenly a white light shone from Zeke’s body.

After the light disappeared Yellin could not help but gape at Zeke.

    “Sir Ji Ji-k?”

In the halo of light Zeke appeared as an elf.
