    Episode 462

    “I found the traces….”

The priest trailed off seeming displeased with the apostle’s report.

The apostle sensing the reaction bowed his head again and said.

“Don’t worry. The Guardian of the Forest has been captured so you should be able to retrieve the Black Star in no time.”

The priest showed no response to the apostle’s words.

Then he turned around and opened his mouth while looking at Abel who had lost consciousness.

    “What are Siemens’ moves?”

Abel’s body was needed to perform the second baptism.

The dragon’s heart was kept by Siemens but Abel’s body had gone over to the abyss so they had to join hands again for baptism.

The apostle approached the priest and said

“It looks like the baptismal altar is almost finished. They will contact us shortly.”

The urgent one was Ramon Siemens who had to undergo his second baptism. So he would definitely be contacted before his second baptism.

Until then Narak could offer Siemens a great deal as long as they could preserve Abel’s body.

However Abel’s body was maintained by inserting the heart of the Red Knight in a hurry but it was unknown whether the heart of the Red Knight would be able to last until baptism.

The priest’s eyes shone through his worn-out ceremonial robes.

“Retrieve the Black Star as quickly as possible. If you have it there’s no need to deal with Ramon Siemens.”

“Understood. I will relay the order to the dispatched unit to hurry up.”

As the apostles withdrew priest Harvey West left alone in the ruined temple looked at the veil carved on one wall.

An ominous symbol with three hooks extending around a central triangle.

The priest lifted up both his hands as he looked at the symbol.

“Great King in Yellow Robe. The time of your descent is not far away.”

    Kookookookook―

The cursed temple pulsed as if responding to his words.

    The priest’s eyes flashed again.

“The new world that the King desires will unfold here.”

    Doo doo doo doo!

After moving from the Republic of Dorta to the Duchy of Troy Zeke headed straight to the Forest of the Forgotten.

As soon as he reached the outskirts of the forest what Zeke encountered were demons of a type he had never seen before.

    Krrrrrr—

It had a reptilian skin but it had sharp wolf-like teeth four eyes that were attached together and a dense network of thorns running from head to tail on its back.

Even these types of demons weren’t just one or two.

Even if they couldn’t dozens of demons approached Zeke with threatening aura baring their teeth at him.

‘It’s not the original demon that was in the forest.’

Zeke who had guarded the Forest of the Forgotten with Nigel in his previous life was aware of most of the types of demons on the outskirts of the forest.

That’s why Zeke could be certain that the demons in front of him now were not originally there.

‘I guess these are the demons summoned by the abyss that the hermit of the story spoke of.’

Originally it looked as vicious and ferocious as the forest beasts enough to make even the highest level monsters go away.

The problem was that there were a significant number of them.

I have never seen this many demons of the same kind not even in my previous life as a Highlander.

‘I guess I’ll have to take a look and see where these guys came from.’

Zeke was wary of the demons and wore a monocle given to him by the great sage.

    Woohoo!

As the clairvoyant worked information about the demons was retrieved.

Soon materials describing the demons appeared before his eyes.

But surprisingly all the materials came from the Eastern Continent.

Zeke had read through his clairvoyance that there were far more demons and species beyond the Eternal Mountains of the Eastern Continent than those of the Central Continent. And these demons had come from there.

‘If we can now control the demons beyond the Eternal Mountains… that means they might soon cross the Eternal Wall.’

The Eastern Continent was strictly divided by the boundaries of the Eternal Mountains.

It seemed that the abyss had not yet reached the inner part of the mountain range but beyond the mountain range the land of the demons the situation was different.

For now it seemed like it was limited to airlifting the demons from the Abyss and sending them into battle but if they crossed the ten thousand year barrier there was no way to know how far their influence would extend.

‘There is a mountain beyond a mountain.’

After realizing the identity of the demon Zeke took out the holy sword Ascalon and took a step forward.

The demons flinched and retreated at the light flowing from the holy sword.

But perhaps their instinct for destruction was stronger as the demons soon screamed and ran forward again.

    Kaaa …

With a roar dozens of demons rushed at Zeke sinking their sharp teeth into him.

Zigg holding Ascalon calmly took a stance and swung his sword at the demons.

    Wheeeeeek―

I only swung my sword once.

    Puppupupuppuck—

With that one sword strike the demons exploded with a loud noise.

The power of the sword was so great that even Zeke who swung it was surprised.

    ‘what’s this?’

It was a power that was incomparable to that displayed when using Roland.

In an instant only traces of the demons that had turned into a handful of blood remained in all directions.

The other demons covered in blood bared their teeth at Zeke and made threatening sounds but they did not approach easily.

‘It’s like this even if I just swing it so what if I use the Holy Spirit?’

To those who possessed magic Zigg would be a nightmare in itself.

Zeke approached the remaining demons with his sword in hand.

“We don’t have much time so let’s finish quickly.”

Immediately afterwards a huge light and the howling of demons echoed from the western outskirts of the Forest of the Forgotten.

    * * *

    “What is this?”

Bodmir whose whole body was soaked with the blood of the demons put down his bastard sword and spoke.

Then Adnan who was next to him put a cigarette in his mouth lit it inhaled the smoke deeply and then opened his mouth.

“Those devils. Those guys have been appearing a lot recently.”

    Bodmir frowned at those words.

“Those weirdos. Damn those guys are so persistent and they don’t die easily. These guys are already increasing in number these days so I hope they don’t come in even more.”

It had already been over a month since the fierce battle here.

The Highlanders were guarding this place with all their might but the demons showed no signs of slowing down.

Many of my comrades had already been sacrificed to the demons and important high ground had been taken away.

Although they were barely able to deal with the demons rushing in from the central position guarded by the High Tables most of the Highlanders were already exhausted.

Bodmir took out a nearly empty bottle of potion from his bosom drank a little and threw what was left at Adnan.

Adnan silently accepted the potion bottle and poured the few drops remaining into his mouth.

That was barely enough to catch my breath but there was nothing I could do.

Just then a horn was blasted from behind.

    Booooooooo―

Adnan and Bodmir got up from their seats after receiving an urgent alert signal.

To my surprise something black was surging from below the central position.

Adnan with his keen eyesight realized what it was and clenched his molars.

    “…You’re crazy.”

Thousands of monsters were rushing towards the central position.

Bodmir who realized the situation belatedly spat while holding his bastard sword.

“Damn I always get my predictions right.”

It was questionable whether this number of people could actually stop thousands of strange dogs.

At that moment the sound of chanting was heard from the central position.

    Wooooow!

An absolute barrier was created around the central base set up on the hill blocking the incoming waves of monsters from entering.

Meanwhile wizards and archers launched ranged attacks at the dogs.

    Pufferpuck!

The archers shot anything they could get their hands on even if it was a broken arrow.

The wizards squeezed out their magical power and blasted their spells at the monsters.

    Kwaaaaah!

The Highlanders made every effort to launch a fierce attack but there were too many of them.

Even if a few of them died their places were quickly filled by other monsters.

    That was when.

The hermit of the story appeared in the central tense air.

The hermit opened a book and began to recite something.

“Let’s see. Oh this is the ancient oriental language. At the moment of crisis when countless enemies rush toward our walls a huge fireball splitting the two skies struck the enemy’s center with great force. No no. It struck the center and the strong impact swept it away. With this the foundation of a magnificent victory was laid!”

As the hermit read all the words the book began to glow.

    Wooooow!

Soon a huge fireball began to pour down from the sky.

    Kwakwakwakwakwang!

A bolt of lightning from the sky swept away the monsters.

Adnan seeing this quickly shouted to the Highlanders.

“Throw jars of oil at them!”

The Highlanders who were impressed by Adnan’s instructions quickly threw the small jars of oil they had piled up behind them toward the burning dogs.

    Choaaaak!

As the oil poured out the fire spread further and engulfed the dogs.

    Krrrrrrrr—

The monsters engulfed in flames fell to the ground screaming.

Although the number of monsters decreased due to Naboo’s wide-area attack the number of monsters that came rushing in was still very large.

The surviving dogs jumped in to find a place where the fire could not reach.

Bodmir shouted at Nabu who was floating in the air.

“Hermit! Give me a stronger story!”

At those words Nabu cried out in a weak voice.

“I’m still so exhausted! Oh my god damn those damn demons….”

Although they were holding out with the absolute barrier of Manna there was no way of knowing when the barrier would break and the bastards would invade.

The Highlanders clenched their teeth and attacked the dogs that charged at them until the very end.

The archers who had run out of arrows and the magicians who had used up all their magic power tried desperately to hold out by picking up rocks and throwing them at the enemies.

But at some point one side of the defensive wall that the dogs had been concentrating on was breached.

    Doo doo doo doo―

The dogs managed to squeeze through the small gap and run all the way to the ditch inside the camp.

Adnan and Bodmir seeing this jumped over the retaining wall and swung their swords at the strange dogs that had entered the barrier.

    Choaaaak!

Bodmir’s bastard sword and Adnan’s twin swords tore through the monster’s body.

“You fucking dogs! Come here and see!”

It was Bodmir who was slashing at the strange dogs while cursing.

But the number of dogs that were rushing in was too many.

The strength in the hands of Bodmir and Adnan who were holding swords gradually disappeared due to the endless surge of monsters.

    “Haa haa…..”

My breathing became ragged and my vision became increasingly narrow.

The two men tried to stop the dogs that were rushing at them with swords in their hands but their bodies had already reached their limits.

    Adnan said to Bodmir.

“I guess I have to stop that first.”

He said pointing to the gap in the barrier.

    Bodmir nodded to Adnan’s words.

    “Okay. Let’s go partner!”

The two men ran towards the strange dogs prepared to die.

    “Haaaaaaah!”

I charged forward with more force to push the rushing monsters out of the barrier.

    Krrrrrr!

The monsters pushed by the spirit of their resolve to die retreated outside the barrier.

As the two men pushed the dogs back forcing the ones that were trying to get in Bodmir shouted at Nabu.

    “Hermit! Please stop here!”

Nabu clenched his teeth at the sight of Bodmir and Adnan prepared to make sacrifices.

Then he recited the verse with difficulty.

“Look at that! The hole in the dam has been filled in so the water will overflow no more!”

    Tsk tsk tsk―

With his words the gap in the barrier was filled.

Adnan and Bodmir who had stepped outside the barrier looked with sunken eyes at the thousands of monsters approaching them.

    Bodmir said to Adnan.

“Damn I wanted to make a big deal out of Dorta and meet him in the arms of a beautiful woman.”

At those words Adnan put a cigarette in his mouth and shook his head.

“Such luxury does not suit us at all.”

The strange dogs rushed at the two people who were having a casual conversation baring their teeth.

The two men raised their swords until the end trying to kill at least one more of the monsters.

    “Chahaaaaat!”

It was when Bodmir was about to swing his bastard sword with a strong spirit.

    Phew phew—

In an instant dozens of demons burst out covering Bodmir’s body in blood.

    “uh?”

Bodmir looked blank as he watched the demons disappear as if they had exploded.

Then Adnan touched Bodmir’s shoulder and said.

“Maybe it could be possible. One room in Dorta.”

    Wooooow!

A huge light appeared in the sky.

At the same time the light split in all directions creating countless electric shocks.

    Phage ph …—

Lightning bolts filled with light struck the bodies of the monsters rushing toward the central position.

    Kaaaa …

The strange dogs that were struck by lightning turned into black piles of ash and disappeared immediately.

The Highlanders in Jinji were spellbound by the magnificent sight.

Nabu who had been leaning against the wall gasping for breath after using all his strength raised his head and looked up at the sky.

At the end of his gaze was Zeke riding Bucephalus.

Nabu shouted shaking his fist as he saw the lightning flash of light.

“Zeke Draker! The Knight of Salvation has arrived!”
