    Episode 461

    “The master was caught?”

Zik couldn’t believe what Nabu the hermit in the story said and asked back.

In the real world there was virtually nothing that could threaten his current mentor Nigel.

It was hard to imagine Nigel being captured unless all the black knights on the continent joined forces to trap her and launch an all-out attack.

    Nabu quickly answered Zeke’s question.

―“Seriously― Demon! And that too top-class!―!”

Nabu’s speech kept cutting out as if the connection was poor.

Zeke shouted into the mirror maintaining his amplification power.

“Are you saying that the highest-level demons took the master away?”

    ―“Sizzle― Hell guys― Sizzle― Consciousness of the lunar eclipse― Sizzle―”

The noise grew louder and soon Nabu’s face in the mirror disappeared.

Zeke tried to use his amplification power again to establish a connection but the signal was not picked up again.

‘The Abyss guys are having a ritual during the lunar eclipse? Could this be Ramon Siemens’ second baptism…?’

I couldn’t know the exact details but I could clearly understand that the situation was becoming increasingly urgent.

Zeke stood up from his seat.

‘We must return to the Central Continent immediately and stop them. Otherwise… the signs of the end will revive the Demon King.’

The next day Zeke explained the situation to Scheherazade and decided to use the palace portal to travel to the Republic of Dorta.

Thanks to understanding of the urgent situation the Crow Unit led by Zeke Hades Yellin and Hamel were soon able to stand in front of the imperial portal.

Scheherazade saw off Zeke and his party with a regretful expression.

“I had planned to throw you a month-long feast of delightful banquets. But you have left so abruptly.”

“Thank you for your gracious hospitality Your Majesty. Once I finish my urgent business I will visit the palace again and tell you the stories I was unable to tell you.”

    Scheherazade nodded at Zeke’s words.

“Don’t wait. This is a gift from me to you so take it without any burden.”

The slaves who appeared immediately after her words began to stack dozens of boxes inside the portal.

The box was filled with precious oriental silks and porcelain crafts.

Zig was startled when he saw this and waved his hand.

“Your Majesty the hospitality you have shown me is more than enough.”

“It is customary to take gifts with you after meeting the Sultan even if only as a formality. These are things that do not interest me but I have heard that they are of great value on your continent. Take them and convey the majesty and revival of the Murk Empire on his behalf.”

    Zeke nodded to Scheherazade’s words.

“Thank you Your Majesty. Although this is not enough of a thank you please accept it.”

Zeke took out a small box and handed it to Scheherazade.

Scheherazade opened the box with a puzzled look on her face. Inside was a bundle of Raven’s feathers.

“I heard that in the Eastern Continent there is a saying that phoenix feathers ward off evil and bring good luck. I have included my wishes for the well-being of Your Majesty and the Empire.”

Scheherazade looked very satisfied when she saw the Raven feather that Zeke had handed her.

“You gave me something very precious. Thank you. I think you should stay here and marry me…”

Zeke pretended not to hear Scheherazade’s words and quickly climbed up the portal with his companions.

Soon light began to appear in the portal’s magic circle.

Although the portal and format of the Central Continent were different the way it worked seemed similar.

Soon a bright light emerged from the portal and Zeke and his party disappeared into the light.

In this way Zeke and his party left the Eastern Continent with the enthusiastic farewell of the Sultan and ministers of the Muruk Empire.

    Woohoo!

Zeke and his party arrived at the Republic of Dorta portal terminal with the light of the portal.

    “Phew…..”

Perhaps because it was a long-distance portal connecting continents everyone except Zeke had pale faces from motion sickness.

Even Hades a dragon had a hard time holding back nausea but Zeke was fine.

“Whoa… Phew. Zeke are you feeling okay?”

Zeke answered Hades’ question with a calm expression.

“Yes I’m fine. You all seem to get motion sickness really badly.”

For him who had crossed timelines traveled to the past and even traveled to other dimensions a long-distance portal was nothing.

Zeke arranged for the seasick party to stay at a luxury hotel in the Republic of Dorta and rest there.

Once they had come to their senses they were to be sent back via the portal to Mycenae.

Zeke who had sent the others away went to the VIP lounge without leaving the terminal took out a mirror and used the power of amplification to reestablish communication.

Perhaps because the distance was closer than the Eastern Continent the mirror screen began to ripple.

Then the connection was reestablished and Nabu’s face appeared.

    ―“Oh shit! Oh that’s enough!”

Nabu also cheered as communication with Zeke was reestablished.

―“Where the hell are you! Why is the connection cut off like this!”

Zig held the mirror and said to Nabu’s words mixed with resentment.

“I was on the Eastern Continent. I just arrived at the Republic of Dorta via a portal.”

At Zeke’s words Nabu hit his forehead loudly.

―“The Eastern Continent? Oh my goodness. It’ll probably be impossible to get there. Huh? Wait it won’t be easy to connect to the Republic of Dorta either. How…?”

“I’ll explain that later. First tell me the situation. Is it true that the demons summoned by Narak captured Master Nigel?”

In response to Zeke’s question Nabu briefly explained the current situation on the battlefield.

It is said that an army of demons and monsters appeared in the western part of the Forest of the Forgotten and that Highlanders were dispatched to stop them.

Then a top-level demon appeared and Nigel went to stop him but he disappeared without a trace leaving behind only a mysterious message.

“Even if he is a top-tier demon it’s hard to believe that he has been defeated by the master.”

At those words Nabu frowned and said.

―“They targeted our high table’s weakness exactly. If we use our power properly we could be dragged straight to the Peach Blossom Land.”

Zik remembered hearing about the Uhwadengseon through the spirit of Hoshigar the founder of Nirvana.

“So what you’re saying now is… if the High Tables reveal their true powers there they could become spirits due to the limits of causality and go to a higher dimension?”

―“Oh I see. You understood right away. That’s right. The Abyss guys somehow found out and lowered the upper limit of karma in order to lift the restrictions of the oath the leader made.”

High Tables who had surpassed human limitations were those who had powers that made it impossible for them to remain in the phenomenal world in the first place.

Just like King Kaisir who realized that his power was upsetting the balance of the phenomenal world and went to the fairy world or Hoshigar who ascended to a higher dimension the original High Table also had to leave the phenomenal world.

This is because the law of karma is designed to guide the souls of overly powerful beings to a higher dimension and restore balance to the phenomenal world.

Because of this the High Tables were forced to make a pact with the Highlander leaders and live only as adjusters avoiding the eyes of the Law of Karma and not revealing their powers to the world.

The hermits of the High Table who had been maintained in that way were in danger of being sent to the Peach Blossom Land if they made a mistake.

Zeke said as he looked at himself in the mirror.

“This is a situation where we need someone who can exert power without going beyond the law of karma.”

―“That’s why I kept trying to contact you.”

“But why are they attacking the Forest of the Forgotten which is a forbidden area? I clearly remember them only taking out the monsters that were there and creating an army.”

―“The ones who invaded this time were a type of demon I’ve never seen before. It seems like they were brought from outside.”

Zeke tilted his head at Nabu’s words.

“Is there a reason to attack the Forest of the Forgotten even to the point of bringing in demons from outside?”

The screen flickered and there was noise as if the connection was weakening again.

    ―“Zizziz …

Before he could finish speaking Nabu’s face disappeared from the mirror.

Zeke looked into the mirror reflecting his face and soon bit his lip.

‘The Abyss bastards are invading and looking for something… It seems like there’s something in the Forest of the Forgotten that’s needed for the second baptism that will take place during the lunar eclipse.’

The fact that they went out of their way to attack the Forest of the Forgotten which was guarded by the Highlanders and even mobilized the highest-level demons in the process in the run-up to the second baptism must mean that there was something very important inside.

Zeke sat up from his seat.

‘I don’t know what you’re looking for but you’ll never get it.’

    * * *

    Boom! Boom! Boom!

A strong impact spread through the stone wall and shook the entire temple.

The Apostles of the Abyss looked on in fear as Abel who had become a demon dragon pounded the wall with his fists and roared.

    “Kaaaaaaah!”

Abel who had been swinging his fists and screaming for a while turned his head and glared at the Abyss Apostles who were looking at him with mad eyes.

    Krrrrrrrr―

Abel looked like a grotesque monster because of the crystallized scales that clung to his body.

As Abel was about to rush in the apostles simultaneously stretched out their hands.

    Tsk tsk tsk tsk―

A black mist rose from their hands and enveloped Abel’s body as he rushed towards them.

    “Kaaaaaaah!”

Abel writhed in resistance against the black haze that was binding his body.

The apostles were barely able to stand sweating profusely as they struggled to bear the weight of Abel’s strength.

    Krrrr!

Abel who had been fighting against those apostles broke the chains that had been binding his body and rushed at the apostles with his sharp claws out.

    Kaaa …

Then suddenly Abel’s body stopped in the air.

    Woooo …

A huge vibration occurred around Abel’s body completely restraining him from moving.

Only then did the apostles who had been sweating profusely retreat.

Among them a priest in a faded old thick ceremonial robe slowly approached Abel who was suspended in midair with his hands outstretched.

He put his other hand into Abel’s left chest.

    Quaddudduk—

The priest dug into Abel’s left chest and took out his throbbing heart.

But the heart connected to Abel was dyed black.

『I guess this is the limit of what the Blue Knight’s heart can endure.』

The priest tore out the blackened heart and burned it.

Then he gestured to the apostles behind him.

At his beckoning the Apostles of Hell brought someone.

A knight wearing full plate armor followed the apostles in with his eyes wide open.

One of the apostles said to the priest

“I am the captain of the Imperial Guard of the Roman Empire. I brought this after making a deal with Castro Pollock.”

Castro Pollock who had gathered his forces in Jupiter reached into the Abyss to fight against Leo and Carus.

The priest nodded at those words and approached the captain of the guard brought by the apostle.

His hand went straight through the captain’s armor and into his left chest.

    “Eu …

The captain of the guards was under the control of the Apostle of the Abyss but he groaned as if he sensed danger and tried to resist.

But there was nothing he could do and soon the priest took his hand away from her chest and her heart was heard beating.

“The heart of the red knight.”

He slowly approached Abel carrying the captain’s heart.

Then he put the captain’s heart into his empty left chest.

As his pounding heart settled Abel’s chest wound began to heal quickly.

As soon as the heart entered Abel’s body the captain’s limbs began to tremble.

Before long he collapsed on the floor like a puppet whose strings had snapped.

Black blood flowed from his eyes ears and nose.

On the other hand Abel’s body which was covered with crystallized scales began to gradually stabilize.

    Quaddudduk—

The crystals that had covered his body fell to the floor in drops.

Abel’s mad eyes gradually calmed down and soon he lost consciousness.

When the priest withdrew his hand Abel who had been floating in the air fell to the ground and the apostles helped him up.

Then one of the apostles approached the priest.

“We have received a call from the unit dispatched to the forest.”

The priest’s eyes hidden inside the ceremonial robe flashed.

    The apostle continued speaking slowly.

“They say they found traces of a black star in the forest.”
