    Episode 459

    “Phew…..”

Yellin sighed after downing a large amount of alcohol which he usually did not drink.

Hades who was tasting the delicacies of the Eastern Continent one by one and looking satisfied looked at her and said.

    “Why are you so dead?”

Yellin tried to say something but then shook her head.

    “It’s nothing.”

Hades put a huge chunk of meat in his mouth picked out the flesh and skillfully spat out the bones. He clicked his tongue and said.

“What’s not to say? Even if I’m insensitive to such things I can tell right away by looking at your expression. If you care that much why didn’t you follow me?”

Yellin drank the liquor all at once and then sighed deeply again.

“Lord Hades. I hope everything is fine with Sir Zeke.”

“Nothing much will happen. That leopard-like Sultan might seduce him and sleep with him.”

    Kkwaduk!

At Hades’ words the brass cup Yellin was holding was crumpled like a piece of paper.

The servant behind her quickly brought another glass in front of Yellin.

She poured the liquor into the newly placed brass cup again and downed it in one gulp.

At that moment nobles of the Murk Empire in gorgeous costumes approached Yellin.

Surprisingly the nobles were elves like Omar.

A noble elf with blue-gray skin bowed gracefully toward Yellin and spoke with a smile.

“Lady Yellin Ishtar. I have heard rumors that you are of noble high elf blood but seeing you in person is blindingly beautiful.”

As one of them approached and greeted Yellin other noble youths who had been watching also rushed over and began introducing themselves to her.

They were all children of noble families in the Murk Empire.

The noble elf who had introduced himself first quickly stepped forward and extended his hand to Yellin as the other young men finished greeting each other.

“Lady Yelin Ishtar. How about dancing with me? I will teach you an ancient elven dance that has been passed down through generations in my family.”

Yellin raised his head at the noble elf’s words.

    “Dance…..”

The noble youth smiled and said as she responded to his words.

    “Yes dance with me…”

Yellin suddenly jumped up from her seat and ripped the side hem of the dress she was wearing. Her slender legs were revealed through the torn side hem.

As the young nobles were surprised by Yellin’s sudden actions she looked around and then approached the person who had asked her to dance.

The elf youth opened his mouth wide and laughed as Yellin who was like the goddess of beauty approached him.

But then Yellin reached out and pulled out the sword that the young man had hanging from his waist.

    Srrrrrr!

A sword blade decorated with ornate craftsmanship was revealed.

“I’ll borrow it for a moment.”

Then Yellin took off her high-heeled uncomfortable shoes and walked into the middle of the banquet hall barefoot sword in hand.

She quietly raised her sword and took up her stance.

After a while Yellin who had caught her breath began to dance while swinging her sword.

    Hoooooooong―

The Ishtar family inherited the hunting skills of the ancient elves and sublimated them into martial arts. Yellin was now displaying the pinnacle of this art.

Because of this the nobles gathered at the banquet hall could not help but be amazed at Yellin’s sword dance.

The orchestra playing instruments in the background also saw Yellin’s sword dance and changed their music to match it.

Soon Yellin’s sword dance and the music of the orchestra blended together as if they were originally one.

Everyone was amazed by her gorgeous yet restrained movements.

Yellin himself who was swinging the sword had no thoughts. This was because he had started the sword dance in order to shake off the distracting thoughts that filled his head.

Yellin who was swinging his sword in such a state of mindlessness soon felt himself becoming one with the sword.

    Woohoo!

The sword she was holding rang out.

Yellin leaped into the air and swung his sword.

The afterimage of the sword she swung looked like a blooming flower.

As she finished her movements and landed on the floor the orchestra stopped playing along with her.

Yellin who had been swinging his sword in a daze opened his eyes and sat up.

Those who were watching her sword dance around them had blank expressions on their faces but soon began cheering.

“Oh my god! This is such a beautiful dance!”

“Wow! The Goddess of Beauty and Sword has descended here!”

After finishing his sword dance Yellin returned the sword to its owner leaving behind the cheers and quietly leaving the banquet hall.

Hades patted his belly and shook his head at the sight of Yellin like that.

‘How did I end up falling for that guy? Tsk tsk. By the way what is that guy Zeke doing with the Sultan?’

    * * *

    “It smells really good.”

Zeke was sitting across from Scheherazade drinking tea.

    She asked Zeke.

“What did you call this car?”

“It is black tea Your Majesty.”

Zeke was serving Scheherazade the black tea he had received when he met the great sage.

Scheherazade also enjoyed drinking tea so she was curious about the completely new type of tea that Zeke brought out.

    She said looking at Zeke.

“This is my first time tasting tea. You never cease to amaze me.”

    “Is that so?”

Scheherazade snickered as she watched Zeke questioning in a sarcastic manner and stroked the fur of the white tiger lying next to her.

She asked Zeke in a hushed voice.

“Rather than that how about you really reconsider marrying me? Or maybe you could sleep together first. Maybe you’ll change your mind after spending the night with me.”

“Thank you for the offer but it’s okay.”

“Is it because of that high elf?”

“Yelin and I are not that kind of people.”

Scheherazade looked into Zeke’s eyes and nodded.

“I knew the truth. You didn’t have room in your heart to hold any woman.”

    Woof woof!

And then Raven flew and landed on Scheherazade’s arm.

She glanced at Raven like that then looked back at Zeke and asked.

“Why is there no room for any woman in your heart?”

Zeke who was drinking tea raised his head and opened his mouth to look at Scheherazade.

“Do you remember the place called Narak that opened a gate to the Republic of Dorta and brought monsters and demons?”

“Yeah that absurd group that tries to summon the Demon King.”

Zeke looked at Scheherazade and spoke in a serious voice.

“If we fail to stop them not only the Central Continent but also the Eastern Continent will not be safe.”

Scheherazade who was feeding jerky to Raven turned her head towards Zeke.

“My army is the most numerous and powerful in the history of the Murk Empire. Even though the devils of Narak are wielding their power I don’t think they will be able to defeat my million-strong army.

“The scary thing about the Abyss is that they don’t attack you head-on. They will persistently target your weakest point and devise insidious schemes to make your million-strong army collapse from the inside. If that happens who knows how many of your million-strong army will be left after five hundred thousand or ten thousand? And even if that doesn’t happen… if the Demon King is really summoned what good will a million-strong army be?”

At Zeke’s words Scheherazade remained silent stroking the fur of the white tiger and black lion before opening her mouth again.

“You seem to make a mockery of the Sultan’s army.”

As she raised her arms Raven flapped her wings and settled back onto Zeke’s shoulder.

Scheherazade looked at Zeke with sharp eyes and said.

“If Jim wanted to make a fuss what you just said would be enough to destroy the three generations.”

“I would appreciate it if you would do so. The gentleman above me is very upright.”

Scheherazade leaned against the white tiger and burst into laughter at Zeke’s words which described the tyrant Arthur Draker as a nobleman.

“This is exactly what I can say about you. They say that when you fall in love the one who falls first is the one who suffers and I’m exactly like that.”

Scheherazade sat up and spoke to Zeke.

“If marriage doesn’t work out I think it would be better to continue our relationship by at least making a vow of fidelity. You never know maybe one day you’ll change your mind.”

“You already have five concubines so wouldn’t it be better for you to choose one of them rather than an outsider like me?”

Scheherazade shook her head at those words.

“A phoenix’s mate must be another phoenix. How could a phoenix without a mate mate with a sparrow?”

Scheherazade got up walked towards Zeke and held out her hand to him.

“Do you know how to make a pledge of fidelity?”

    “Actually I don’t know.”

“Huh? You made that suggestion to me without even knowing that. How reckless of you.”

Scheherazade who was smiling took Zeke’s hand and led it to her left chest where her heart was.

Then he also put his hand on Zeke’s left chest.

“The original oath of fidelity required a dragon to mediate it.”

At those words Zeke’s eyes widened.

“I didn’t know that. Could I ask Hades?”

Scheherazade shook her head at Zeke’s words.

“Perhaps he doesn’t know how to broker a covenant of fidelity. Fortunately I can make a covenant without a dragon so don’t worry.”

After Scheherazade finished speaking she took off one of the earrings she was wearing and put strength into it.

Then the earring rose into the air emitting light.

    Woohoo!

Zeke realized that the earrings contained the dragon’s energy that he had felt earlier.

    Scheherazade said to Zeke.

“I said that my bloodline’s bloodline ability can contain any blood.”

    “Yes that’s right.”

    “It also contains dragon’s blood.”

Zeke was startled by Scheherazade’s words.

    “Dragon’s blood?”

Only then did Zeke understand how Scheherazade had been able to draw upon the dragon’s power without sharing his heart with the dragon.

‘A human with the blood of a dragon. If Narak finds out there will be chaos.’

Harvey West a priest of the Abyss experimented for a long time with transplanting dragon hearts into humans in order to create a vessel for the Demon King but failed repeatedly.

This is because it is impossible to possess the heart of a dragon unless the dragon has made a contract with the person who will become its soulmate directly or is a being with the blood of a Draker who possesses the power of immortality.

But if Scheherazade’s blood had been present the experiment might have made progress.

‘If the Abyss bastards knew this… it’s terrifying to even imagine.’

Fortunately the abyss that had taken hold in the Central Continent seemed to have not yet reached the Eastern Continent.

But that doesn’t mean we can let our guard down.

If they found out about this they would do anything to get their hands on Scheherazade’s blood.

Scheherazade asked watching Zeke continue his worries about the Abyss.

“Will you truly make a covenant of fidelity? The moment the covenant is made your soul and mine will have the closest connection with each other.”

    “I am prepared for it.”

Scheherazade smiled seductively at Zeke’s answer.

“Very well I Scheherazade Anatolia Shilate will swear an oath of fidelity with Zeke Draker.”

As soon as she finished speaking a thin chain began to emerge from the earring which was floating in the air and emitting light.

The extended chain passed through Sieg’s hand which was placed on Scheherazade’s chest and through Scheherazade’s hand which was placed on Sieg’s chest.

A chain of light passed through their hands and reached their hearts.

    Tsk tsk tsk tsk―

The chain that was connected to the earring suddenly got stuck in the middle tied a knot and then suddenly separated from the earring.

    Eeeeeeeeeing―

The chain that fell off the earring became one and connected Zeke and Scheherazade.

    Scheherazade said looking at Zeke.

    “You can let go now.”

When I took my hand away I saw a thin chain of light connecting Zeke and Scheherazade’s hearts.

Zeke tried to touch the chain with his hand but it seemed to have no form and his hand passed through it.

‘Is it different from Solomon’s Chain?’

    Wooooowoong―

And then the shining earring fell into Scheherazade’s hands again.

    She said looking at Zeke.

“The ceremony of the oath ends here.”

Zig asked pointing to the glowing chain.

“Is this chain a pledge of fidelity?”

“So don’t forget that you and I are connected at every moment by this unbreakable chain.”

    Ss …

The chain of oath that had connected Zeke and Scheherazade’s hearts had disappeared.

Although there were no visible chains connecting them Zeke could feel something of a connection between himself and Scheherazade.

    Scheherazade said to Zeke.

“They say that those who have made a pledge of fidelity can convey their feelings to each other no matter how far apart they are.”

She closed her eyes and looked at Zeke.

    “Let’s give it a try.”

Scheherazade seemed to be trying to convey something to Zeke and Zeke watched her absentmindedly thinking that it would be impossible.

But then a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.

[A message from the system user ‘Can you hear me?’ has arrived.]
