A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 456
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 456
Scheherazade looked surprised at Zeke’s words.
“This is a pledge of faithfulness.”
The oath of fidelity is a type of oath that has been passed down from the ancient Eastern continent and is based on faith and trust between the parties.
Those who made this oath could never betray or lie to each other.
It was similar to the ‘Oath of Oath’ of the Central Continent but the Oath of Faithfulness of the Eastern Continent was different in that it went beyond a simple contract and strengthened the bond between the parties.
By making this oath the Sultan could claim to be on the same page as the leader of the Phoenix and Zeke could spread his reputation as a knight of salvation throughout the Eastern Continent as well as serve as a bridge between the East and the Central Continent.
Scheherazade said looking at Zeke.
“I’m surprised you know about the oath of fidelity. Hmm but I’m more interested in marrying you.”
“As I said if that happens the problem will become complicated.”
Scheherazade turned her head and looked at Yellin next to Zeke.
Then he said to Zeke.
“Is it possible that you have rejected my proposal because you are attracted to this beautiful high elf descendant next to you? If you wish I will allow you to take her as your concubine after we marry.”
At those words Zeke shook his head.
“If my heart was swayed by her beauty I would have accepted Your Majesty’s proposal instead. Considering all the factors this is the most reasonable proposal I can offer you.”
Scheherazade felt her heart pounding at the words Zeke said so casually.
He was a sultan who lived for decades as a conqueror and ruler of the continent.
There were hundreds and thousands of men who would offer their bodies and minds to her whenever she wanted.
Naturally the five concubines she took in also all had outstanding looks solid physiques and excellent backgrounds.
But Scheherazade had never felt a thrill towards such concubines.
However Scheherazade herself was surprised to feel such feelings towards a knight from the Western Continent who was much younger than her.
She tried to hide her expression and spoke to Zeke.
“It would be much easier if you could marry me and become a queen without any complicated thoughts. You’re causing me trouble.”
“This is my natural personality. Please understand Your Majesty.”
Scheherazade smiled at those words.
“I love and cherish those who work hard. Good my leader of the divine beings. But if you truly wish to make a covenant of faithfulness with me you will have to overcome the appropriate trials.”

She sat on the back of the golden fox and shouted in the voice of a majestic monarch.
“Zeke Draker I will personally prepare a ‘sacred ordeal’ for you!”
At the mention of the divine ordeal Omar and all the eunuchs around him were shocked.
At the same time the banquet hall beneath the dais where the Sultan was was filled with noise.
“The sacred ordeal begins!”
“The Sultan grants a divine ordeal to the leader of the divine beings!”
As the surroundings became noisy Yellin asked Hades quietly.
“What on earth is this divine ordeal that the Sultan of Hades spoke of?”
“You can think of it as something similar to the laws of the sacred land that you have in your family.”
When Zeke first met Yellin he had fought a battle of honor according to the laws of the sacred land.
And because he won that battle he was able to cover up his crime of disobeying the Ishtar family’s edict.
The Divine Trials were conducted according to similar procedures but had one difference from the laws of the Earth.
The point is that the subject of the trials is not God but the Sultan and she as God’s representative becomes the subject and determines the method of the sacred trials.
Ddddddd!
Soon the sound of something entering the banquet hall was heard.
Soon muscular slaves were seen pulling a dozen carts.
Soon the cart was brought to the center of the banquet hall and the slaves unfolded the cart and surprisingly a fighting arena was created on top of it.
Ddddddddd—
And then the platform where Zeke and his group were standing also began to vibrate and moved to the place where the stadium installed in the middle of the banquet hall had the best view.
As the slaves moved the Sultan’s seat forward of the platform a special seat with the best view of the arena was quickly created.
Then a few more carts came in and seats began to be created around the arena.
Zeke and his party gaped in amazement as they saw a large arena being created in an instant.
‘How many duels does it take to create an arena of this size in such a short time?’
Sultan Scheherazade was herself well-versed in martial arts and was interested in various forms of martial arts.
In the Central Continent each family focuses on maintaining their traditions by refining their Auror skills and family vision.
However although it was not known to the world the basic foundation of the Auror training method that Shatton Draker first created was still the same even after thousands of years although there were various branches.
As a result the Auror training method that was misinterpreted and passed down by Bahamut has continued to this day.
And in the midst of all this the only place that was researching new visions was the Draker family.
Of course the Aura training method itself was fixed in its framework but it could be seen as much more advanced than other families in that it developed visions into special skills and registered them as family secrets to keep.
In that respect Scheherazade’s method of placing separate martial arts researchers in the palace and comparing and studying the Central Continent’s Auror training methods and the successor’s successor’s rite of succession was innovative.
So it was not strange that such an arena and system were established.
Ding ding ding!
While Zeke and his party were amazed and admiring this situation slaves beating drums suddenly appeared heightening the atmosphere.
The Sultan lying on a soft cushion with his three companions looked down at the arena with interest.
Then he raised his voice.
“Warrior Krasnu! Come forward!”
At Scheherazade’s words one of the warriors guarding the platform quickly jumped onto the arena.

Phew!
As Krasnu climbed up onto the arena Scheherazade spoke to Zeke.
“Sir Zeke Draker I hereby issue you a sacred ordeal. You must defeat three warriors of my choosing in a duel.”
Zeke nodded after hearing Scheherazade’s words.
“Understood Your Majesty.”
“If you win the duel you will be able to make a pact of loyalty with me. If you wish I will even allow you to sleep with me.”
Yellin’s face turned bright red as he listened to the Sultan’s blunt words.
As the successor to the relatively conservative House of Ishtar she found it difficult to keep up with the Sultan’s boldness.
Hades who was next to her held his stomach and laughed at Yellin’s reaction finding it amusing.
“If you keep doing this you’ll end up like a dog chasing a chicken. Try harder.”
Hades was teasing Yellin without even realizing that her insides were burning black.
Zeke jumped straight up from the platform and landed on the arena.
The nobles of Muruk cheered in excitement at his light movements.
“Leader of the Divine Beasts! I look forward to it!”
“Krashn! Show me the power of the Muruk warriors!”
As Scheherazade raised her hand amid cheers the sound of the drums changed.
Doo doo doo doo―
Krasnu drew his sword first.
It was a curved sword unique to the Murk Empire with the back of the blade slightly curved.
Krasnu held a curved sword in one hand and a round shield in the other.
Compared to the kite shields of the Central Continent it was small enough to cover the upper body.
‘The shield may be smaller but the movement will be faster.’
Aside from Luther this was his first time fighting an Eastern warrior properly so Zeke was also on guard and drew his sword.
Tsk tsk tsk―
When I summoned Levatein from my inventory the nobles of Murk looked at Zigg’s sword with curiosity and murmured.
“A sword appears out of thin air. Could it be the weapon of a demon?”
“There’s no way a knight from the Central Continent would have a magical weapon that only the Successor can wield. That must be magic.”
As Zeke and Krasnu finished preparing Scheherazade snapped her fingers listening to the commotion around them.
Kookung!
Slaves beating drums signaled the start of the duel.
Krasnu slowly circled around Zigg spinning his sword around his wrist.
Then as if he thought he had seized his opportunity he raised his shield and charged forward.
Kwakwakwakwa―
Krasnu swung his shield at Zigg at a fast speed as if he was flying on the wind.
Phew!
The shield sliced through the air trying to hit Zeke in the face.
Zeke easily dodged the attack with a welcoming technique.
Krasnu whose attack failed immediately changed direction and swung his shield again at Zigg who retreated.
Zeke felt that Krasnu’s shield attack was quite sharp.
‘But compared to the speed the attack itself is rather monotonous.’
Zeke who had been leisurely dodging Krasnu’s attacks took a step forward when he saw an opening.
Then he immediately swung Levatein.
Phew!
I just lightly swung my sword for exploration.
However Krasnu’s shield which collided with Levatein shattered into pieces and shattered.
Boom!
The solid shield shattered on all sides and Krasnu was struck by the impact and fell back.
“Ugh!”
With a light swing of the sword Krasnu’s left hand was almost torn off.
Zeke couldn’t help but be amazed as he looked at the Levatein he was holding in his hand.
‘Bahamut’s seals were completely released and it even evolved… Its power is no joke.’
I thought that if he was not careful Zeke himself might be swayed by the power of the sword.
Krasnu hurriedly tore his clothes and wrapped them around his left arm then picked up the sword with his right arm again.
Even in this situation Zeke could feel the strong will characteristic of Eastern warriors as he watched Krasnu continue the duel.
But then something strange happened.
Tsk tsk tsk―
An aura emanated from the sword Krasnu was holding and enveloped his entire body.
Wooooowoong―
Krasnu’s momentum which had drawn out the power of the demon contained in the weapon was completely different from before.
Krasnu raised his sword and rushed forward towards Zigg.
Hoooooooong―
He rose into the air as if he were a gust of wind and flew quickly.
“Haaaah!”
As if a storm was brewing Krasnu’s swords struck Zigg from all directions.
Zeke held Levatein and blocked Krasnu’s wind-filled sword strike.
As he directly blocked Krasnu’s sword strikes that were coming at him Zeke realized one thing.
‘It’s faint but I can feel the elemental power here?’
In the first place humans were unable to use elemental power due to their physical structure.
However the successors of the East are those who have transcended the limitations of the flesh and have sealed the power of the demonic spirits in their weapons. It seems that they have used this to indirectly control that power.
‘If you can’t control the elemental power yourself you should control a being that can control that power.’
The Eastern spirits sealed in the weapon were a type of spirit called genie so those close to spirits could easily manipulate elemental powers.
Hoooooooong―
As Zeke examined it closely the wind flowing from Krasnu’s sword grew stronger.
‘It looks like the thing sealed in that weapon is a spirit with the power of the wind.’
Zeke stepped forward holding Levatein and blocking Krashn’s wind.
I wanted to take a closer look at the power of the Eastern Successors but there were still two more targets to deal with. I couldn’t afford to be too lax.
Zeke took the stance of the Dragon Slayer while holding Levatein.
Woohoo!
As a strong sword sound rang out from his sword Zeke stepped forward and activated the Dragon Slaughter Technique.

Chapter 4 Section 1
Full moon bee
Kwakwakwakwa―
Zeke’s sword strike created a full moon and split Krashn’s storm apart.
And then in the storm that swept in reverse Krasnu was swept away by the power he had created.
“Kuaaaah!”
It’s not that Krasnu’s ability was weak but rather that Zeke’s power was too strong.
He could not hold out any longer and was swept away by the headwind falling down the arena.
thud!
In contrast Zeke landed steadily on the arena.
thud!
The nobles of the Muruk Empire were surprised to see Zigg easily defeat the strong warrior Krasnu.
The stands were in an uproar as if they had not expected the match to be so one-sided.
Scheherazade looked satisfied as she watched Zeke triumphantly.
Then he got up from his seat and shouted.
“The warrior of the second trial is Saladin!”
When the name Saladin was called silence fell over the entire banquet hall.
Even the nobles who had been cheering excitedly turned pale when they heard that name.
Hades and Yellin who were watching the duel from the VIP seats noticed something strange as they watched the reaction.
And after a while.
Clank clank clank.
The banquet hall door opened and a man bound in chains all over was led onto the arena by a dozen or so slaves.
thud!
The slaves pulled the chains and forced the man to kneel on the floor.
Scheherazade who saw the man said with a captivating smile.
“Saladin the murderer. He is the second ordeal.”
