A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 445
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 445
Elder Dragon.
He was known as the beginning and end of all dragons.
What the Mad Emperor and Arthur Draker were both looking for was the Elder Dragon’s relic.
It was also the Elder Dragon’s power that allowed Zeke to turn back his miserable life and return to a new past.
After all at the center of everything up until now has been the Elder Dragon.
Then something appeared on the empty throne.
Tsk tsk tsk―
The black dragon statue that Zeke had previously taken out appeared on the throne.
The dragon statue on the throne vibrated and the Elder Dragon’s voice penetrated Zeke’s mind.
“Zeke Draker you who have gone against fate.”
Zeke raised his head and spoke to the dragon statue on the throne.
“Elder Dragon. It’s finally time for us to meet like this.”
“You who defied fate. I have been with you for a long time….”
Then Zeke raised his hand and cut off the Elder Dragon’s words then glared at the dragon statue on the throne and said.
“Why is that so?”
Zeke opened his mouth again gritting his molars.
“Why on earth did you regress me?”
A return to the past.
Being able to live a life that was full of regrets once again can be considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
In fact after his regression Zeke became incomparably stronger than before and was getting closer and closer to the complete freedom he desired.
But sometimes Zeke would have thoughts like this.
‘If I had died in the Ice Mountains back then wouldn’t I have already been free?’
As he returns to the past he learns things he didn’t know in his previous life and somehow ends up becoming a knight of salvation destined to stop the Demon King from resurrecting.
It wasn’t because he wanted it to be like that but because he was struggling to survive it just happened.
With the power of an immortal Zeke can never tire never get hurt and his spirit can never break.

But even so I couldn’t help feeling tired and discouraged from time to time.
It was because the weight of fate pressing down on his shoulders felt so heavy.
If it had been anyone other than Zeke the return might have felt like a curse rather than an opportunity.
Zeke said while looking at the dragon statue.
“Why me? Is it because I brought this relic? Or because my bloodline is special? What on earth is the reason!”
He screamed at the elder dragon pouring out all his pent-up anger.
Then the Elder Dragon’s voice pierced into Zeke’s mind.
“You are the only being who has the potential to defy fate.”
Zeke frowned at the Elder Dragon’s words.
“What do you mean? Other people couldn’t regress?”
Kookookookook―
At that moment the scenery of Daejeon changed and everything became pitch black like night.
Then a giant clock pattern appeared on the throne.
“Cronus and I have tried many times over the years to change the unchanging fate of destruction.”
Woohoooooooo―
This time a screen appeared in front of Zig.
An unbelievable sight unfolded on the screen.
“Who’s going to kill me?”
“Let’s settle with coins like usual.”
It was the sight of a former life’s Zeke writhing on a snowy field with both arms cut off and hunting dogs throwing coins.
Soon Zeke healed his severed right arm and picked up his sword striking one of the knights in the neck.
Choaaaak―
Red blood splattered on the white snow.
The hounds rushed at Zeke.
Unlike now in his previous life Zig had scars all over his face and his nose was crushed.
Zeke looked at himself on the screen.
“Cough!”
In the end the previous life’s Zig was left gasping for breath with a dozen swords stuck in his stomach and back.
The corpses of hunting dogs with their necks cut off were strewn all around.
Zeke crawled through the snow and reached out to the statue of the elder dragon.
With all his effort Zeke’s fingertips finally touched the statue.
Soon a huge light burst out from the statue.
The screen disappeared with a blindingly bright light.
The screen before his eyes disappeared but Zeke could recall the next scene.
When I opened my eyes again I was back to being twelve years old.
With memories of the past and the future.
The Elder Dragon’s voice dug into Zeke’s mind again which had been lost in past memories.

『At Kronos’ request I created a statue containing my power and placed the ‘power of the irreversible promise’ inside it. However even then I did not believe that this power could truly be activated.』
Regression is something that goes against one’s predetermined fate. That’s why even the Elder Dragon couldn’t be sure.
『But the power was activated and you Zeke Draker were standing here. You asked why I regressed you. The reason is clear. You wanted it to happen and that will made you defy fate.』
Even the Elder Dragon or the Time Dragon could not regress someone at will.
It was possible because there was a strong enough wish to activate the ‘power of the irreversible promise’ to awaken the ancient will.
Zeke slowly opened his mouth while looking at the dragon statue.
“What you mean is… that I wanted all of this.”
『Zeke Draker we do not know what kind of new life you want. However what is certain is that by defying fate you have gained the possibility of changing the end of the phenomenal world that was destined to end in destruction.』
Very small changes can make a big difference in the end.
The end of the phenomenal world that the Elder Dragon and Cronus saw across the timeline was always the same.
No matter what arrangement was made the result was destruction.
But one possibility has been created that could be different.
It was none other than Zeke Draker whose return was creating ever-greater ripples.
“You who defied fate. I have something to tell you.”
“What are you talking about?”
“It’s about the Kabbalah system you have.”
The elder dragon paused for a moment and then spoke again.
『The first being who created the Kabbalah system was none other than Solomon.』
Zeke was surprised to hear the Elder Dragon’s words.
“Are you talking about Solomon the king of Carcosa the god-slayer… and the king of the fallen?”
“That’s right.”
Zeke who had been guessing that the Elder Dragon had created the system was confused by those words.
“If what you say is true… is it true that the Demon King created the Kabbalah system?”
『It was before the Sinsalha that he created the Kabbalah system. It was to save mortals from the constellations.』
“Is that possible with the Kabbalah system?”
『The Kabbalah system is what made it possible for mortals to deal with karma which only the constellations could handle through their power.』
When Zeke heard the Elder Dragon’s words one thing occurred to him.
The reason he was able to control the power of the constellations was ultimately because of the Kabbalah system.
No matter how high a human’s level is it is impossible to directly use the power of the constellations.
Only by becoming a member of the constellation and becoming its incarnation could one use its power.
However Zeke was able to break free from such rules and use the powers of the constellations he had absorbed without restrictions.
Zeke asked looking at the elder dragon.
“How was it possible for King Solomon to do such a thing? He was also a mortal. Did he have the help of a dragon?”
The elder dragon continued speaking in response to Zeke’s question.
“He is the first dragon to make a contract with a dragon with the help of the God of Chaos.”
‘King Solomon was the first dragon? Not Siemens Apollyon who forcibly implanted the heart of the contract dragon into his body?’
Zeke looked back at the elder dragon’s words with a puzzled mind.
After gathering his thoughts he spoke to the Elder Dragon.
“Are you saying that the first dragon was created by the god of chaos?”
The Elder Dragon continued speaking.
『The God of Chaos is the origin of the universe that created this world along with the primordial light. Because there is chaos there is order and because there is order there is chaos.』
“I don’t really want to hear such nonsense. Anyway why did the god of chaos create Yong-in?”
The scenery of Daejeon changed again at Zeke’s question.
Kookookookook―
Memories of the past began to play around me as if the entire space had become a screen.
Zik looked at the ancient city that existed in those memories far away.
Humans and various races that I had never seen before mingled together and beasts flew in the sky and the constellations watched with delight.
It was a utopia that was literally like a painting.
『It was a time of abundance. Unlike today the continents were connected as one. The primordial light cherished its creations and gave them everything so that they would not lack anything. However….』
Soon the screen began to change.
Beings of the phenomenal world bored with the abundant life began to fight and quarrel with each other stealing from each other and committing terrible acts.
They hunted beasts captured spirits and enslaved other races.
When the constellations saw this they initially tried to stop them but as time passed they gradually began to assimilate.
Those who sympathize with each race among the constellations begin to appear and the world falls into chaos.
The primordial light saw the earth that had been terribly changed and used various methods to start everything over again.
He caused a great flood and burned everything with a huge light.
The constellations could not help but feel sorry for the creatures that served as their playthings as they were quickly obliterated by the primordial light.
Eventually the constellations came to an agreement among themselves to take away the power of the primordial light.
But since all the constellations ultimately came from the primordial light it was impossible for them to oppose him with their own power.
That is why they sought out the ‘God of Chaos’ the only being who could resist the primordial light.
They went to find the God of Chaos who was sleeping deep in the abyss and borrowed his power to fight against the Primordial Light.
In the end the primordial light had no choice but to lose its power torn to pieces by the constellations that were no different from its own avatars.
The constellations decided to lower his status fearing that the primordial light might reappear.
The primordial light was sealed under the name of the Sun God and the God of Chaos was sealed under the name of the Moon Goddess.
The primordial light that had lost its power became the sun god in name only but the god of chaos was different.
Through the ages she has been passed down as the goddess of the moon with various names and in the process she sought to regain her original status.
During this time there was someone who came to find the God of Chaos who was imprisoned under the name of the Goddess of the Moon.
『It was me and Solomon. We were trying to free the god of chaos from the goddess’s throne and restore the light of the beginning. It was to stop the atrocities of the constellations that were using karma as they pleased and disrupting the phenomenal world.』
Zeke knew how Solomon the God-Slayer became a fallen constellation after fighting against the constellations.
The elder dragon spoke again.
『But with our power it was impossible to free the God of Chaos. Furthermore it was also impossible to revive the Primordial Light whose power had already been scattered and absorbed by other constellations. At that time the God of Chaos made us a proposal.』
“What suggestions do you have?”
『He decided to grant Solomon the power to go against the flow in order to break the stagnant wheel of order created by the constellations.』
“Is it by that power that King Solomon became a mercenary?”
『Solomon becoming a dragon was just one part of the process of fate. The power that the god of chaos gave him was something completely different.』
The elder dragon’s words paused for a moment before digging into Zeke’s mind again.
『A small crack that deviates from the rules of the world created by the god of chaos. Those who receive its power are called ‘Irregulars’ in the phenomenal world.』
