A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 444
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 444
One who seeks to become the Demon King himself.
Zeke had been wondering for a long time what Ramon Siemens’ purpose was.
At first I suspected that the purpose was to have the Demon King descend into Abel’s body and use him to rule the continent.
But in that case there was also a possibility that Abel who had become the Demon King would eliminate Ramon Siemens.
And dominating a being with greater power than oneself was never easy.
Because of this although Zeke had guessed Ramon Siemens’s purpose in various ways he was unable to know the exact details making it difficult to predict his movements.
It was in that situation that I finally realized what Ramon Siemens wanted.
“Does Ramon Siemens want to become the Demon King himself?”
Kronos slowly opened his mouth in response to Zeke’s question.
[Whether or not you can use the power of the evil spirit to bring down the Demon King into that body is something that you can’t know for sure unless you try it. However… a human obsessed with the desire for domination would certainly be able to come up with such a plan.]
Ajitahaka the flesh-eating emperor who wanted to become a constellation himself.
Ramon Siemens who wants to become the Demon King and rule over everything.
The two beings were like the embodiment of the desire for dominance so they might have been drawn to each other.
Chijijijijijik―
Again Kronos’ spirit body began to tremble and the signal kept cutting off.
Kronos looked at Zeke and said.
[To prevent the signs of destruction you Zig must find the legacy of the Kingdom of Kronos.]
She reached out to Zeke.
Wooooowoong―
A halo of light appeared in her hand which soon took the shape of a seal.
‘Could that be the last seal?’
Kronos looked at Zeke and said.
[The place where Kronos’s report and the temple of the beginning are located. Sieg you need to go there and find out what the source of all this is.]
Zeke looked at Kronos with a puzzled expression and asked.
“The source of all things? What do you mean?”

Chijijijijijik―
Again the spirit of Kronos seemed ready to disappear.
She moved her outstretched hand once.
Wooooowoong―
The seal created on the palm flew towards Zig.
At the same time her spirit body began to gradually disperse.
[Zeke Draker please find the legacy of Kronos and stop the signs of destruction.]
Soon her figure completely dispersed and disappeared.
“Lord Kronos!”
Zeke who was looking at the spot where the disappeared Kronos had been approached the last seal floating in front of him.
‘I thought the last seal was in the temple of the goddess Theia.’
Zeke reached out to the last seal that Kronos had handed him.
The seal that touched his hand transformed into a halo of light and permeated into Zig’s body.
Wooooowoong―
A message appeared before Zig’s eyes as he absorbed the seal.

Zeke checked out the newly unlocked feature the ‘Akashic Code’.
―System Description―
Akashic Code: You can access the Sephiroth dimension servers to view stored karmic data and save information.
“You can connect to the dimension server…”
Just hearing it it wasn’t easy to understand what its function was.
So as he was about to check the function of the Akashic Code a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes again.
[The coordinates of the legendary city of Carcosa are automatically activated.]
[Move to the corresponding coordinates.]
Woooo …
Zeke’s body was enveloped in light.
As he tried to exit through the system portal the entire Temple of Teia shook for a moment.
Kugugugugugu―
Zeke’s body rose into the air with light.
The external stone statues outside the temple let out inaudible screams of the soul as if trying to stop Zig from leaving.
【Keeeeeeeeeek―】
【Kaaa …
【Eee …
The cries of their souls made Zig feel dizzy.
Behind the terrible howl that seemed to have crawled up from the bottom of the abyss Zeke’s body was enveloped in a huge light.
And after a while the huge halo of light dispersed. Zigg’s figure disappeared from the temple of the goddess Theia without a trace.
* * *
Woooo …
Zig appeared with the light.
“Ugh!”
I was out of my mind because the coordinates suddenly became activated and started moving.
“Uhm…..”
My head kept ringing because of the soulful screams of the stone statues of the outside world.
Zeke didn’t want to imagine what would happen if those statues woke up and invaded the phenomenal world.
‘I guess everything’s okay for now since the statue of the goddess Theia has been restored.’
Zeke took a breath and looked around his new location.
Numerous buildings made of yellow bricks.
Although they were not as tall as the Atlas Building their orderly arrangement made them look like a planned city of today rather than an ancient city.
As we looked further afield we noticed a tall solid blue wall surrounding the city on the outskirts.
‘Is this the legendary city of Carcosa?’
An inexplicable thrill ran through Zeke’s body as he thought of the legendary city that had long since disappeared unfolding before his eyes.
It was a similar feeling to when I crossed the timeline and saw the view of the Kingdom of Kronos from the top of the tower.
Zeke looked at the fruit on the stand next to him then reached out and picked one up.
I don’t know what kind of fruit it is because it’s the first time I’ve seen it but I could vividly feel its freshness in my hand.
Zig used his strength to split the fruit in half.
Gulp!
Juice overflowed from the fruit that was split in half.
Zik put the halved fruit in his mouth and chewed it.
“oh?”
It tasted like a fruit I’d never tasted before.
Zig looked around as he bit into the juicy fruit.
‘But why can’t I see any people?’
The city existed in its entirety but there were no people in it.
Even looking toward the market steam was rising from pots as if they had just been selling food.
It felt like all the life that had existed in the city had disappeared leaving behind only the buildings and objects.
Zeke couldn’t tell if this place was real or a city from the past recreated with karma data.
‘The coordinates created by combining the report of Kronos and the Temple of the Beginning were here Carcosa.’
He turned on the system map in curiosity but nothing came up.
‘Is it true that what we see now is not something that actually exists but rather a replay of past memories using karma data?’
But then a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.
[Update relevant karma data via Akashic Code.]
[Display the data on the map.]
After the karma data was updated Carcosa city information was displayed on the map.
Only then was Zeke able to check his location on the map.
‘The city is much bigger than I thought.’
At this point it was almost as big as Atlas.
Zeke looked at the map and confirmed the building in the center.
He turned his head and looked toward the center of the city.
“That’s…..”
A huge structure made of stacked blue-tinged stones stood in the middle of the city.
At first glance the pyramid-shaped building appeared to be a simple landmark.
‘They wouldn’t have made something like that in the middle of the city just for decoration.’
Usually the most important buildings in a city were placed in the center.
Ziggy lifted his body into the air with his Dragon Wings skill.
Zeke who slowly flew upwards looked out over the cityscape of Carcosa from above.
‘Is this the city that is most loved by the constellations?’
A city that was greatly loved by the constellations but was ultimately destroyed because of them.
Zeke flew towards the giant structure in the center looking out over the entire Carcosa.
Flying across the city Zeke was able to quickly reach the front of the building.
But at that time Zeke had no choice but to stop for a moment at the place he had arrived.
‘What is this energy…?’
This was because an ominous energy was felt within the large structure built with blue stones.
Zeke instinctively felt what the energy was.
‘This is the breath of the dragon.’
I couldn’t figure out why the central building of Carcosa had a dragon’s aura but it was very intimidating.
It was a much stronger aura than what I had felt from Bahamut or other Lords in my memories.
Zig who flinched for a moment as if he was overwhelmed by the momentum realized that the energy was not unfamiliar.
‘This energy….’
Zig slowly approached the building trying to picture in his mind the identity of the being emitting energy.
He flew towards the entrance at the top and entered the building.
thud!
When I went inside it felt like I had entered an ancient temple.
The floor walls and ceiling were all made of blue-tinged stone.
Zik approached the stone wall which had a soft blue glow and placed his hand on it.
At that moment Zeke couldn’t help but be surprised.
Wooooowoong―
The stone wall reacted with the ziggurat and generated magical power.
“What is this?”
Surprisingly the blue stone wall itself had magical powers.
It was as if the magic stone had been turned into powder and sprinkled on the wall.
‘Oh my God so all the stones in this building are like this?’
I couldn’t tell what purpose it was built like this but I could clearly see that Carcosa was no ordinary city.
Zeke went inside along the hallway.
He walked towards where he felt a stronger dragon’s energy.
Soon the hallway ended and a door appeared at the end.
The door was decorated with blue tiles so it felt quite exotic.
As Zeke got closer to the door to his surprise the door began to open by itself.
Kugugugugugu―
As the door opened with a heavy sound the vast hall inside was revealed.
Zeke slowly entered the battlefield.
When he looked around he saw that unlike the outside the inside was decorated with tiles of quite colorful and patterned shapes.
‘That’s strange. I think I’ve heard that there is a decorative culture like this in the East.’
Zeke walked towards the center of the battlefield looking at the ornate tiles of Carcosa.
As elsewhere the presence of people moving was not felt here either.
But even so I could feel a huge presence filling the entire space.
Zeke raised his head and looked at the front of the battlefield.
An empty throne with no one sitting on it.
But the strong pressure I felt outside was felt even more clearly here where I could see nothing.
Zeke was certain who this being was.
At that moment Zig’s expression changed for some reason and he opened his mouth as he faced the energy he felt from the empty throne.
“Show yourself O Great Being!”
As soon as Zeke spoke his words echoed throughout the entire stadium.
But there was no response from the empty throne.
Zeke opened his mouth again.
“When you called me why did you disappear now?”
He shouted in a voice full of anger.
“Elder Dragon! Reveal yourself!”
