A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 43
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 43
Kay’s expression hardened at Zeke’s words.
“Tea shed?”
“Yes. A warehouse where Soma is brought in and stored.”
“Why that warehouse.”
Zick said with a blank expression on his face.
“To burn.”
“what?”
At that moment Kay’s hands trembled.
Burning the McCain Cartel’s drugs was something I never imagined possible.
Zeke said looking at Kay.
“Wouldn’t that be enough to properly piss off Don Juan?”
“Are you saying you’re going to burn down your warehouse and then blame it on the favela?”
“Not only that. I’ll also involve the Syndicate’s executives. At that point Don Juan will send hitmen on his own.”
Kay’s face turned pale at Zeke’s reckless plan.
She said in a trembling voice.
“And what if Don Juan finds out it was us?”
“You have to do a good job so that doesn’t happen.”
At Zeke’s words Kay took another sip of his drink.
She wiped her mouth and said.
“I can’t change it since it’s already come to this. Alright. Let’s try it. I’ll just trust you and go.”
Zeke said looking at Kay.
“Let’s do our best partner.”

Shortly after the secret meeting between the two men ended fires broke out in Atlas and other cities on the outskirts of the Empire and Midland.
Fortunately there were no casualties but all the items inside the warehouse were completely burned and there was no trace of them.

The cause of the fire and the contents of the warehouse were never discovered and the incident was covered up.

Zeke leisurely read the news about the fire in the newsletter at the mansion.
“At this point even old Don Juan would be a little upset.”
Kay picked out a few of the syndicate’s main warehouses and set them on fire.
They took the time to arrive at each city by rail and activate the portal points then on the day of the event they used the portals to travel between cities in one night starting fires.
Thanks to that I lost a lot of karma points but there was absolutely no trace left.
Even in Nirvana a clan of magicians only a limited number of people can use teleportation and teleportation magic that allows movement between cities does not exist in the present era.
It was a distance that could only be reached by a large portal device operated by a tower.
Now that the seeds have been planted it’s time to wait for them to sprout.
He planned to go down south during the vacation period after the end of the semester at Valhalla and meet Don Juan face to face.
Zeke had a concrete plan on how to cook the cartels.
While he was busy planning someone came into Zeke’s room.
“You little disciple.”
Duke who had been running around here and there without any time to stay at the mansion called Zeke.
“It’s really hard to see your face these days Master.”
“Ugh. I don’t know why they make a retired person do that.”
“Of course that’s because you’re capable.”
“Stop talking nonsense. Just pack your bags.”
“Huh? Why are you carrying luggage all of a sudden?”
The Duke said with a displeased expression.
“Let’s go to the Four Seasons. It’s the summoning of the head of the household.”

Doo doo doo!
Zik rode in a carriage with Duke Andrei and headed to the Four Seasons Castle.
He was looking out the window with his chin resting on his hand.
Between the splendid buildings of Atlas and the crowds of people I could see the straight avenues and well-manicured trees.
Zeke looked at the civilized city and thought about what Bahamut had said.
‘A city for humans only.’
Perhaps the future that Bahamut was worried about was not a world where only humans exist like now.
Fairies exist only in legends elves have disappeared dwarves and dwarves have been driven out to the northern continent and beastmen live as wanderers scattered throughout the continent.
Unlike in the past humans create cities of their own and even fight each other to create larger cities and countries.
‘I guess we need stronger power because these are such confusing times.’
Duke asked Zeke who was looking out the window.
“What are you looking at so intently?”
Zeke turned his head towards Duke and said.
“I saw the cityscape because it was so interesting.”

It was a peaceful sight completely different from the Atlas he had seen in his previous life.
No kingdom can exert any force over a city within the sphere of influence of the Drakers the Transcendent House.
The city had autonomy and moved on its own.
Although Midland was not a kingdom it held the center of the central continent with greater unity than a kingdom.
And at the center of it all was the Sage Castle the heart of the Draker family.
The Drakes’ homeland was in the Duchy of Troy but their main facilities were all located in the Four Seasons.
Zig felt a little strange about visiting the Four Seasons for the first time a place he had never been to in his previous life.
The Duke said picking his ears.
“Oh you bastard Arthur. What did you do as soon as you got back? A promotion party all of a sudden.”
The reason Zeke was summoned to the Four Seasons was none other than a celebratory party to celebrate his promotion to Blue Knight.
Most of the major bloodlines of the Draker clans hold a promotion party when their children become Purple Knights.
Even at that time most people were over the age of consent so they were also called Drake-style debutantes.
But in Zeke’s case it was a party celebrating his promotion to a blue knight not a purple knight at the age of fifteen so the weight of it was different.
In fact many nobles and prominent figures from the Central Continent gathered at the Four Seasons Castle to attend Zeke’s promotion party.
Since the only place in the Four Seasons that could be opened to the public was the ‘Spring Garden’ the party was also scheduled there.
Andrey who was standing next to me said.
“We will arrive soon.”
Zeke opened the window and looked outside.
In the distance the huge walls of the Sagye Castle could be seen.
The carriage carrying Zig quickly entered the castle.

Spring Garden which retained the classic style of the Central Continent while modernizing the facilities was a building that combined classic beauty and modern sophistication.
In a huge hall set up in such a building children of prestigious families invited from all over the Central Continent as well as high-ranking politicians and key figures attended the party wearing ceremonial clothes symbolizing their families.
Arthur Draker as the host of the party welcomed the guests wearing a robe emblazoned with the dragon’s emblem.
At that moment someone approached Arthur Draker.
“Father.”
It was none other than Abel Draker.
Abel with his red hair neatly tied up and dressed in formal attire exuded an aristocratic aura.
Arthur greeted Abel with a wonderful smile.
“Abel come in. You have come to congratulate your youngest brother on his accomplishments. You are admirable.”
Arthur and Abel hugged each other with similar smiles.
Abel looked around and said.
“This is the first time I’ve seen a promotion party with so many people in attendance.”
“That’s right. Everyone must be curious about Zeke since he’s the youngest Blue Knight on the continent to be promoted.”
Abel smiled at Arthur’s words.
Before Zeke was promoted to Blue Knight the youngest Blue Knight on the continent was none other than Abel himself.
But with Zeke breaking that record Abel was left as an ordinary promoter.
Arthur quickly left Abel’s side and exchanged greetings with politicians from other kingdoms.
Looking at Arthur like that Abel clenched his molars.
“Control your expression Abel.”
His cousin William Siemens came up to him.
“What’s wrong with my expression?”
“If you want to laugh laugh for sure. If you want to get annoyed get annoyed for sure. If you want to do it together it’s neither here nor there.”
At William’s words Abel’s smile disappeared from his face.
Then William clicked his tongue.
“So what if that’s the case? Today Abel your role is to be a cool older brother who congratulates his youngest brother.”
Then a fanfare sounded from above.
Everyone focused on one side.
The door opened and someone appeared.
The youngest blue ascendant on the continent and a pureblood awakener of the Drakers.
Zeke Draker appears.
“Oh my god you’re really a blue knight at that age?”
“I can’t believe it.”
“Even if it was a Purple Knight promotion party it would be hard to believe.”
Zeke slowly walked down the red carpet from the second floor receiving a lot of attention.
It was his first time at a party like this and he was not used to aristocratic etiquette so it was extremely awkward for him.
‘I know it requires a certain level of performance but I really can’t do it.’
Zeke walked across the carpet towards Arthur Draker who was standing at the end of it.
He knelt on one knee and bowed his head toward Arthur Draker speaking in a solemn voice.
“To the great Lord Arthur Draker who leads the great Dragonslayer family I Zeke Draker hereby swear to take the first steps as an honorable knight. I also swear that I will not tolerate injustice and that I will help the weak and bring peace to this land.”
Then Arthur Draker drew the sword he was carrying.
He lightly placed his sword on Zeke’s shoulder and opened his mouth.
“In the name of Draker I bless the future of Zeke Draker as he advances as an honorable knight.”
With the blessing of the Lord Zeke was officially promoted to the rank of Blue Knight.
It was when Zeke was about to get up from his seat.
Arthur opened his mouth again.
“I also hereby appoint Sir Zeke Draker as a full Knight of House Draker and bestow upon him the title of full Knight.”
Many people including Zeke were surprised by Arthur’s words.
It was unprecedented for him to be promoted to Blue Knight at the age of fifteen and to receive the rank of full knight at the age of sixteen.
The shock was indescribable especially since he was an official knight of the Draker family known as the knight of knights.
Zeke was taken aback by Arthur’s sudden award of the title but then came to his senses and recited the oath of appointment.
“Zeke Draker swears loyalty and devotion as a knight of the honorable House Draker.”
Arthur seemed satisfied after hearing Zeke’s oath and took the sword off his shoulder.
Then he personally stood up Zeke and introduced him to the many people attending the party.
“I am so happy to be able to introduce my youngest son to the many distinguished guests who have gathered here. Sir Zeke Draker is a distinguished knight who carries the Draker blood more deeply than any other. May the future of this talented young man be blessed and may the continent be peaceful and well-off.”
As Arthur raised his glass the others also raised their glasses.
Everyone happily toasted to Arthur’s toast.
The party was unexpected and so was the unexpected knighthood.
Zeke still looked puzzled.
“I’m proud of you.”
Arthur said patting Zeke on the shoulder.
Zeke looked up and looked at Arthur.
It was an expression on Arthur’s face that I had never seen in my past life.
Zeke nodded.
“It’s all thanks to you my lord.”
“What is that? When there are two of you call me father.”
He spoke to Zeke in a soft voice.
“So is the plan to become the strongest on the continent that I mentioned last time going well? Judging from the fact that you became the star of today’s party it seems like it’s going smoothly.”
Zeke answered in a calm voice.
“I’m trying.”
Arthur laughed as if he found it funny.
Then suddenly Arthur Draker’s voice changed.
“You met Carly.”
For a moment Zeke felt as if a sharp knife had been thrust into his neck.
‘Not even a single moment of leeway can be allowed.’
Zeke nodded.
“Yes. My older sister came to Valhalla to give a special lecture and we happened to hear her lecture and had a cup of tea together.”
“Oh. I see. Now that I think about it it’s been quite some time since I’ve seen Carly. We’ve both been so busy.”
Arthur put his hand on Zeke’s shoulder and said.
“Next time we should all get together for a meal as a family. More importantly I want to give you a present to celebrate your promotion.”
Arthur took something out of his pocket.
Zeke looked at what Arthur had taken out.
Surprisingly what Arthur took out was an ordinary piece of paper.
But the content written inside was anything but ordinary.
< 1 exchange ticket for the Draker family report >
He said handing Zeke a piece of paper.
“Go into the family treasury and choose whatever you want and bring it.”
Arthur put his arm around Zeke’s shoulder and came closer saying:
“Open your eyes wide and look carefully. Among those numerous items there are both treasures and useless trash.”
Zeke nodded to Arthur’s words.
“I will keep that in mind.”
Arthur smiled and pulled away again patting Zeke on the shoulder.
“Okay then let’s go and enjoy the party. A true knight should stand out even at parties.”
With those words Arthur left Zeke’s side.
We only exchanged a few words but I felt extremely tired.
‘Arthur Draker. You can’t relax for even a moment.’
As he was sighing inwardly someone approached him.
“Sir Zeke Draker.”
Zeke turned his head.
She was an elegant woman wearing a dress that seemed simpler than that of other noble ladies.
She told Zeke.
“It’s my first time greeting you. My name is Melissa Alencia the first princess of the Kingdom of Alencia.”
