    Episode 428

The Black Spirit members including Zeke moved to the mansion prepared by Azmun and stayed there.

The mansion built in the style of the Roman Empire was a magnificent piece of architecture that boasted both practicality and sophisticated beauty.

It is said that one of the royal family members personally designed and built the mansion at a cost of tens of millions of gold but he was captured on the day Abel occupied Rom and had his head beheaded.

Azmun had taken over the empty mansion and was using it as a villa but he gave it to Zeke and his group specifically.

Zik let out a bitter smile as he looked at the VIP room that Azmun had prepared for him.

‘The outside of Rome is a completely dead city but this mansion is a completely different world.’

The VIP room decorated with all sorts of luxuries felt like it had been filled with all the luxuries of the entire continent.

Zeke sat on the soft sofa his legs stretched out lost in thought.

    ‘Strike Abel with Azmun.’

At the negotiating table Zeke accepted Azmoon’s offer.

He was pleased with Zeke’s decision and told him his plans in detail.

Azmun himself reported that he had dug a trap and captured Zeke and that he would take him to Abel in the palace.

The plan was for Zeke disguised as a prisoner to release Abel when he approached and kill him and then the knights of Magal Palace who had been waiting in advance would occupy the palace.

At first glance it may sound ridiculous but in reality most usurpations are not carried out with some grand plan.

In the past Emperor Nero was so suspicious that in order to meet with him you had to go through several steps and even then you could only convey your intentions indirectly but Abel was different.

Because he could approach them so defenselessly Azmoon said it would be better to approach them in a simpler way.

Zig who agreed to this decided to join Azmoon’s plan and stay in Azmoon’s secret villa where no one could approach until he was disguised as a prisoner.

But Zeke never trusted Azmoun Barrios.

‘The dark schemer is angry for the Empire of Rom and wants to kill Abel? It’s more believable that the dwarf is going vegetarian.’

Having encountered Azmun Barrios in his past life Zeke knew all too well that he was not a man driven by loyalty or affection for the Empire.

Rather he was a great man who would have been more suited to sell out the empire for his own benefit.

Zeke pondered Azmoon’s plan and came to one conclusion.

‘It must be a trap set up with that black magician in the palace.’

A black magician who acts as the acting butler who moves Abel from behind.

Zeke was certain that this warlock had some connection to the Abyss.

And if that was the case then there was a high probability that Azmoon and the Warlock had joined hands to plan a plan to capture Zeke.

‘A trap for schemers and warlocks.’

Zik thought about it for a while and then got up from his seat.

He unleashed his skill Shadow Clone.

    Tsk tsk tsk―

Zeke’s shadow rose and soon formed an identical figure.

Zig’s clone created using the Shadow Clone technique can exert about 40% of the main body’s abilities.

With just the clone body he can exert power almost similar to that of the Red Knight.

Because there was a physical entity there unlike a normal clone it was difficult to tell that it was not a physical entity even with the knight’s sense of smell.

Zig placed his shadow clone here and activated the portal to the system for the first time in a long while.

Zig turned on the map and checked the coordinates he had marked in advance then confirmed the portal movement.

‘100 points for moving. It’s useful for this amount.’

The system portal was karma-powered so it couldn’t be tracked by magic. So at 100 points it was worth it.

    Wooooowoong―

Zeke’s body soon disappeared along with the portal’s light leaving only his shadow clone in the room.

    * * *

    “Hmm.”

Boris was reading a report inside a house in the abandoned city of Rome.

Behind them Eiren and Bisco holding magic guns were keeping watch and looking around.

Zion sitting on the sofa was throwing the iron ball upward with a bored expression on his face while Serena was lying on the sofa with her blindfold on.

At that time Adol wearing a skull mask brought something.

    “It’s rice.”

Along with the horse Adol distributed the food to each person.

Zion frowned as soon as he opened the lid of the pan.

“Miss why are you Type C? I told you I can’t eat chicken.”

Serina who was next to Zion spoke to him as if trying to console him.

“I told you not to complain about Zion’s food. If you keep doing that I’ll go to Arianna and tell her everything.”

Zion flinched at the mention of Arina’s name.

With trembling hands he picked up a spoon and scooped up some Type C combat rations from the lunchbox and put them in his mouth.

    “Ugh chicken sucks.”

While Adolf looked around Boris and Eiren Bisko also took a bowl each and started eating.

Then Zion looked at Boris and said:

“Captain Boris how long do we have to stay here?”

Boris looked at Zion’s grumbling words and said.

    “Until the boss comes.”

At Boris’s words Zion who was still afraid of Zeke shivered once.

Then Zion who had soon found stability grumbled as he picked out the peas in the combat rations one by one.

“Ugh if I had known this would happen I would have just stayed at the academy with Ariana. I heard the boss brought Martha too this time.”

Martha was the only member of Six who was of similar age to Zion.

In the past Zion would tease Martha and play pranks a lot so he would always get scolded by Serena.

While Zion was eating gloomily reminiscing about the past Eiren ate all the food in the pantry and spoke to Boris.

“Can’t we ask the captain to bring some snipers too? My name is the sniper squad leader but I’m the only sniper so it’s weird.”

At those words Boris looked at Aaron and said.

“When the boss comes why don’t you tell him directly?”

At Boris’s words Eiren shivered like Zion and then shut his mouth tightly.

They all felt an instinctive fear because they had all been hit by Zeke at least once.

    But then it happened.

    Tsk tsk tsk―

A portal appeared in the air and someone appeared in front of them.

All of the spies including Boris were alert and on guard.

But as soon as they saw the figure appearing from the portal everyone relaxed.

It was none other than Zeke who showed up.

    “It’s been a while everyone.”

Zeke left his shadow clone in the room and made contact with the spies he had placed in advance in Rom.

Zeke watched them eat their combat rations from the canteen greeting them.

Then he took out some food from his inventory and handed it to me.

When Zion saw this he shouted for joy.

“Wow! Beef stew! White bread! That’s delicious!”

Bisco and Adol who usually don’t say much also gulped when they saw the food that Zeke had brought out.

After distributing food to the members Zeke took Boris into the room.

Zik sitting down looked at Boris and said.

“It seems like you’re doing better than I thought.”

Boris smiled bitterly at Zeke’s words.

“Sometimes I feel resentful of the boss who gathered such unique members.”

“I heard that when you were in Room 13 you were voted the most popular agent to partner with. They are quite capable so I told you to work hard to raise them.”

Zeke who had been snickering changed the mood by resting his chin on his hand and speaking to Boris.

“So what do you think the situation is like in Rome now?”

Boris’s expression darkened at his words.

“As someone from the Empire I really… If I saw that Abel in front of me I would kill him right now.”

Boris is from the Imperial Intelligence Service of Rome and attended the Imperial University in Rome during his youth.

The Rome he remembered was one of the largest cities on the continent rivaling Atlas.

However when Abel and Siemens usurped the throne and took over the city the former glory of Rom disappeared without a trace.

“Most of them have been captured by the soldiers and are being held in camps and even the civilians who have managed to escape danger are all locked in their basements trembling in fear and not coming out. The city itself is completely unable to function so they are basically dead.”

Zeke said as if he found that questionable.

“That’s strange. When you occupy a city it’s normal to rule it and then try to expand your sphere of influence in some way.”

Boris nodded in agreement and answered.

“I also have a question about that part. It seems like Abel would rather empty the city itself.”

Zigg couldn’t figure out why Rome one of the continent’s largest cities would be like that.

Then Boris handed Zeke a report.

    “What is this?”

“This is a record of the suspicious things I discovered while staying in Rome.”

Zeke quickly glanced over the report Boris had handed him his gaze lingering on one spot.

“When evening comes fog covers the city and monsters crawl out of the sewers?”

The report contained a story that sounded like an urban legend.

Boris said with a serious expression in response to Zeke’s words which seemed a bit absurd.

“It may be hard to believe but it’s true. My team and I searched every nook and cranny of the city and we found that monsters were indeed appearing in certain areas.”

Zeke examined the appearance of the monster described in the report at the serious words of Boris.

    ‘What is this…?’

A strangely shaped creature that is rarely seen in nature.

It was characterized by sharp teeth tentacles and indefinite shapes.

Zeke had seen a monster that looked similar to this one.

‘A demonic being called an outsider in the Forest of the Forgotten. Its appearance is similar to that of that one.’

Boris gave new information to Zeke who was worried about the outside world.

“And boss it seems like there’s a Nostra Family research lab here.”

Zeke raised his head at Boris’s words.

“This is the Nostra Family’s research lab. Are they conducting human enhancement experiments?”

“I don’t know the details of the research because I didn’t infiltrate inside but I guess it’s related to the monsters that appear here.”

Zeke remembered the chimera-creating potion Rahim had.

‘If the Nostra Family is under Siemens’ protection there would be no better place to conduct chimera experiments than here. Did they move it from somewhere else? Or did they hide their identity here from the beginning…?’

It was possible that the medicine Rahim brought was also made here.

Zeke thought about it and then said to Boris.

“I will enter the palace tomorrow and face Abel.”

Boris’s mouth opened wide at his words.

“No boss. What kind of reckless thing are you trying to do again?”

“If it’s reckless like you say then it can be reckless. Because you’re walking into a trap set by Azmun Barrios.”

“Are you saying that you did it knowingly?”

“If we don’t do that we won’t be able to catch Abel. We have to drag him out somehow at this opportunity.”

Zeke spoke firmly looked around and then telepathically gave Boris an order.

Boris’ face turned even paler than before as he followed his orders.

“Bo Boss what on earth are you planning to do in Rome?”

“If you don’t shake it the snakes that are hiding well won’t come out. Remember Boris. You must not make any movement until I give the signal.”

Boris nodded seriously at Zeke’s words.

    “Okay boss.”

Against the traps of Azmun and Lopocale Zeke set tight traps and waited for his prey to take the bait.

‘Let’s see who falls deeper into the trap.’

    * * *

    Doo doo doo doo doo!

A carriage was speeding towards the palace of Rome.

The carriage was surrounded by knights of the Magal Palace and at the very front was Azmun Barrios.

Azmun Barrios entered the palace pulling a black security carriage.

    thud!

The palace gates opened and Azmun headed towards the Great Hall dragging a mobile prison covered in black cloth.

Dozens of knights from the Magal Palace escorting the carriage followed behind.

As soon as the gates of the Great Hall opened the knights of the Imperial Guard lined up and Abel sitting on the throne were seen.

Next to Abel stood Lopocale dressed in robes and disguised as a human.

Azmun knelt before Abel and bowed his head.

“Your Majesty! I Azmun Barrios! I have captured the criminal of the Empire Zeke Draker and brought him before you!”

At the mention of Zeke Draker Abel who was sitting on the throne suddenly raised his head and began drooling and gnashing his teeth.

    “Zeek Zeek Draker…..”

Then Lopocale who was standing next to him brought a bowl containing raw skin that he had prepared in advance to Abel’s mouth.

Abel greedily drank the raw skin from the bowl.

Thanks to that he barely suppressed his madness and the true Abel gestured towards Lopocale.

“Bring in the sinner Zeke Draker!”

At Lopocale’s words Azmun himself pulled the cloth covering the mobile prison.

    Kookookookook!

Inside us Zig was on his knees his head bowed his whole body bound in chains and restrained.

When Abel saw this he suddenly got up from his seat and shouted excitedly.

    “Zeke! Zeke Drakeeeeeee!”
