A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 414
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 414
‘It’s a staircase. Does it lead to the basement?’
I didn’t know that there would be stairs leading underground like a dungeon rather than being hidden in a separate security area.
Zeke left his doubts behind opened his eyes wide and went down the stairs.
But surprisingly the wooden stairs were not artificially created.
‘A shape created naturally by intertwining tree branches. It’s similar to the World Tree I saw in the city of Nagas.’
Although it has become twisted it is likely that in the past this tree also served as a huge tower.
Zig who was walking down the stairs that led all the way to the basement was able to reach the floor before long.
It was a space made up of intertwined tree branches both on the floor and on the walls.
Zeke looked around and went inside.
But then I saw the dazzling eyes of the demons hiding in the darkness.
Krrrrrr—
Because Zeke killed the external beast that was the leader of this dungeon the other beasts were scared and only made threatening sounds and did not approach.
As Zeke who was watching them turned on the light of the Holy Light the demons were startled and disappeared into the darkness.
‘It looks like the demons have taken up residence in the dungeon-like space.’
As we went further inside we saw huge pillars lined up made from thick tree trunks intertwined with each other.
Zeke went past the pillar and deeper inside.
Then something appeared in front.
‘That’s?’
There was an entrance on one side of the pillar-lined space and when Zig entered it a huge cavity appeared.
In the middle of the room which had a ceiling so high that you couldn’t even see above there was a solid stone statue.
“Hmm?”
Zig approached the statue and held it up to the light of the Holy Light.
It was a stone statue of a shape I had never seen before.
Its body was like a deer its face and tail like a dragon and its feet had the hooves of a cow. On its head were two horns that extended like huge tree branches.
Zeke tilted his head as he looked at the statue.

“Hmm it kind of looks like the dragon horse Bucephalus.”
While he was on the subject he decided to summon Bucephalus for comparison.
Heeeeeeling!
Bucephalus who had been summoned after a long time acted cute by rubbing his cheek against Zeke’s chest.
Bucephalo which had the appearance of a dragon horse had a body with dragon scales and as expected two horns.
Although it resembled a stone statue it definitely looked different.
“Isn’t that a dragon horse?”
Bucephalus nodded as if in agreement with Zeke’s words.
He looked around the statue and unconsciously placed his hand on it.
But then it happened.
Kugugugugugu―
Cracks began to appear in the stone statue and the corn began to crumble.
‘this…!’
When the stone statue suddenly broke Zeke couldn’t help but panic.
But then a white light came out from within the broken stone statue.
Woohoo!
The white light that had been gushing out gathered together and instantly seeped into Zig’s body.
Ss …
Zeke was startled when the stone statue suddenly shattered and a warm light came out of it and filled his body.
And then a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.
―Achievement Quest―
[Breathe your spirit into the sealed god of the earth to break the seal.]
[Quest Mission Reward: Blessing of the Earth God / Relic of the Earth God]
‘Wasn’t it sealed here? And you’re telling me to blow the spirit into it to release it? It’s different from the seals I’ve released so far.’
Through the message that came to his mind Zeke realized that the seal of the Earth God existed somewhere other than the Forest of the Forgotten.
“The thing that just came into my body was a spirit… Anyway it means that there is a separate sealed body but where is it?”
As soon as he questioned this a message appeared before his eyes.
[The Eye of the Sage has estimated the location of the sealed Earth God through the Karma Data Access Authority.]
[Mark the location on the map coordinates.]
The wise man’s eyes automatically searched for relevant information and found the location.
“The power to view karma data is truly incredible.”
Zeke checked the location marked on the map.
And then I couldn’t help but be surprised.
“Here… is where the shelter is?”
When Zeke had previously visited Salmak’s headquarters he had felt traces of ancient ruins there.
But I never thought that the spirit of the god of the earth would be sealed there.
‘I was going to clean up the mess anyway so this is a good thing.’

Zeke decided to first return to the forest house where Nigel was.
But when I returned home Nigel was nowhere to be seen.
Zeke found a note carelessly placed on the table.
<I’m going to the west of the forest to catch some demons. It’ll probably take a long time. If we’re meant to be let’s meet again later.>
The Forest of the Forgotten is so vast that even the administrator has no idea what kind of beings live within it.
It was a repeating mission of just staying at home feeling strange reactions going out and solving them myself and then coming back.
Judging from what Nigel had said it would take a long time it seemed like it would take at least a month before he would be back.
‘It’s too bad. I wanted to say hello to the teacher and leave.’
Thinking that they would meet again if fate allowed Zeke left the Forest of the Forgotten leaving behind his regrets.
In order to release the sealed seal of the Earth God one had to go to Salmak in the desert.
‘If we go to Mycenae and then lead the troops back it will be too late. In that case….’
A good idea occurred to Zeke.
The place where Zigg who came out of the Forest of the Forgotten found himself headed was Ishtar’s realm.
The Ishtar family who worship the earth god and follow his laws.
Zig planned to deal with the slaughter with them.
‘Let’s play for a while.’
* * *
“What did you just say?”
Salmakju who was drinking with his youngest disciple next to him barely managed to stop himself from dropping his glass in surprise as he spoke.
The subordinate spoke to him with his head bowed.
“…it is said that Zeke Draker has crossed the similar region with traitors and Ishtar’s mystics.”
Salmakju stood up from his seat and threw a glass of wine at his subordinate.
Clang!
He shouted at his subordinates with a devil-like face.
“Damn it! What the hell were you guys doing while Zeke Draker was right in front of us!”
When Salmakju lost his temper the youngest disciple next to him became frightened and his face turned pale.
Then Salmakju stroked his disciple’s face and said
“It’s okay. Don’t worry. They’ll never get here.”
He gritted his teeth and shouted at his subordinates.
“Wake up the Scorpions who were waiting. It was a good thing I requested their dispatch in advance. Request more wizards from the Scorpion Clan.”
At that moment the subordinate looked at Salmakju with a hesitant expression and spoke.
“That is…..”
“What is it? Tell me straight.”
The subordinate spoke with a stiff face.
“We have been unable to contact the Scorpion Clan. We suspect that… Zeke Draker’s side attacked the Scorpion Clan first.”
Salmakju opened his mouth wide at Suha’s words.
“The Scorpion’s main base was hit? Those poisonous bastards that crawl back like bugs even if you kill them? How on earth?”
“We haven’t identified the cause yet but… based on the circumstances we suspect it is.”
When Salmakju heard that the Scorpion Clan may have fallen at the hands of Zeke he realized once again that what had just happened was not ordinary.
‘Damn… I should’ve taken care of that guy before he grew any further.’
I saw an opportunity to assassinate Zeke Draker through Shadia but I couldn’t take advantage of it.
Then not long ago most of the dispatched personnel including Shadia betrayed him and went over to Zeke Draker’s side.
Among the external dispatched personnel spread throughout the continent many chose Shadia.
I tried to kill them all with the loneliness that was implanted in my body but for some reason the loneliness did not work.
The traitors must have found a way to eliminate loneliness.
From then on Salmakju sensed something strange and requested the Scorpion Clan to dispatch wizards in preparation for a possible attack.
Before he knew it Salmakju’s face was covered in cold sweat.
‘I guess it won’t work. I’ll have to ask them for help.’
It was a card I didn’t want to use unless absolutely necessary but I had no choice in the current situation.
Salmakju got up from his seat and headed somewhere.
When I entered the room at the end of the hallway there was nothing there but a crystal ball sitting in the middle waiting for Salmakju.
Salmakju immediately approached and activated the crystal ball.
Soon a black shadow appeared from the crystal ball.
He spoke to the black shadow.
“I will join under the conditions I mentioned back then. I need your help now.”
Then the black shadow on the other side of the crystal ball rippled.
Without saying anything the crystal ball went off and the black shadow disappeared.
‘What? Why is there no other communication….’
That was when I started to have doubts.
“It seems the Lord was in a hurry. Why did you contact me so suddenly?”
It was clearly an empty room but someone appeared behind me.
When Salmakju turned his head a man in a black suit was standing there holding a bag.
He was none other than Rahim the head of Nostra Family the Six.
His face which barely survived after being hit by Zeke’s power of corruption was badly scarred and his left eye was also covered in white giving it a grotesque appearance.
Unlike before Rahim’s one remaining eye now dry was filled with madness.
Rahim approached Salmakju.
“If the Salmak and Nostra families become one they will become a more powerful organization.”
The Nostra Family has been pushing for a merger with Salmak for some time.
The rival organization Red Eye’s influence was growing stronger than before and the Suin gang Crosstel grew in size as it formed an alliance with the Joiners and the Western Alliance.
In the process the Nostra Family was weakened after losing key members Dario and The Six in a conflict with Zeke Draker.
That is why the Nostra Family has been continuously pursuing a merger with Scorpion and Salmac to replenish its depleted power.
And Salmak which had been an independent organization for hundreds of years had ignored the Nostra Family’s offer. However when the situation suddenly became difficult they were the first to extend a helping hand.
Salmakju said as he looked at Rahim.
“That bastard Zeke Draker wiped out the Scorpion Clan.”
Rahim’s eyes lit up at those words.
“The Knight of Salvation… I also have a great grudge against him.”
Rahim could not forget the pain of the power of corruption melting his flesh and bones.
He said to the widow.
“Since we’ve joined hands with the Nostra Family even Zeke Draker will be no problem. We’ll figure out a way to kill him together…”
Salmakju shouted interrupting Rahim.
“You don’t understand what I’m saying! He’s coming here right now! And he’s bringing Ishtar’s magicians with him!”
Rahim’s face hardened for a moment at Salmakju’s words.
‘Zeke Draker is coming to kill Salmak himself? Why in this situation?’
It was a movement that was incomprehensible by common sense.
In his opinion there was absolutely no reason to attack the still stronghold of Salmak.
There the stronghold of Salmak was a natural fortress that had not allowed any invasion by outsiders for hundreds of years.
It would have been a more certain way to kill the Salmakju by luring it out and dealing with it but Zeke Draker chose an unfavorable battlefield.
‘Is it confidence that he can take down any number of enemies? No. That cunning guy wouldn’t do that. If that’s the case then maybe there’s something else he wants here….’
As Rahim’s thoughts grew longer Salmakju broke out in a cold sweat and spoke to Rahim.
“We need to bring in the Nostra Family troops right now. They might storm here at any moment…!”
thud!
In that moment a great vibration occurred in Salmak’s stronghold.
Salmakju opened the door in a panic and went out.
“What the heck! What is going on!”
The killers of the Salmak were seen moving busily.
The servant came and spoke to him.
“Zeke Draker! The old man is here!”
Salmakju raised his voice as if he found it hard to believe.
“Are you saying we’ve already passed the similar area?”
Kururururung!
There was a big shake again.
Salmakju shouted urgently to his subordinates.
“What are you guys doing! Hurry up and call the Scorpions inside and stop him!”
He looked at Rahim and said.
“Please Nostra Family lend us your strength! If it’s The Six we can stop him…”
That was when.
“Notice to the people in Salmak. Those who surrender now will have the loneliness in their bodies removed and their lives spared.”
Zig’s voice echoed throughout Salmak’s headquarters.
Salmakju’s face turned pale.
‘That guy Zeke Drake…’
Rahim who was watching from behind adjusted his glasses put the bag he was holding on the floor and opened the lock.
Crunch!
Inside the bag were dozens of syringes containing a black liquid.
Rahim said to the terrified Salmakju.
“You want to stop that guy Zeke Draker?”
At those words Salmakju nodded vigorously.
Rahim said taking a syringe out of his bag and handing it to me.
“I didn’t bring it to use but I guess I can’t help it given the circumstances. This will be the lifeline that catches the bastard and saves the life. Instead….”
He said with a cold expression.
“The Lord will have to prepare the price for that.”
