    Episode 408

Nigel frowned at Zeke’s sudden question and glared at him.

“This damn guy… why is he curious about something like that when he’s eating?”

“No matter how I look at it Master doesn’t seem human… In fact I don’t feel any dragon energy either. I’m just curious.”

Since his previous life Zeke had been curious about Nigel’s true identity.

After her regression I thought she might be a dragon or a mermaid but when I met her again I couldn’t feel any dragon energy at all.

Nigel took a big bite of bread and moved his mouth around then clicked his tongue and looked at Zeke.

“As I live I see… people like that as disciples.”

“I’m just curious. If you don’t want to talk you don’t have to.”

Zeek said nonchalantly and picked up a piece of bread and started eating it too.

Nigel stared blankly at Zigg then quickly got up from his seat.

“Hey I’ve lived a long time and done all sorts of things.”

She untied her hair approached Zeke and showed him the top of her head.

“Hey look. Look. What do you see?”

“Huh? What’s going on all of a sudden Master?”

    “You said you were curious!”

Zeke looked closely at Nigel’s forehead as he thrust it into him.

    ‘uh?’

There was a trace of something being cut off at the crown.

Nigel shuddered in surprise as Zeke unconsciously reached out and touched the crown of his head.

    Phew!

At that moment Nigel struck Zeke in the face with his fist.

    “Cough!”

Zeke clutching his chest from Nigel’s powerful blow barely managed to lift his head while enduring the pain.

Nigel who covered his head with his hands blushed slightly and looked down at Zeke with eyes filled with disgust.

“I told you to just look so why are you touching it and saying X? Are you going to die?”

She put her hair up again covering her crown and returned to her seat.

Zeke who had just regained his breathing looked at Nigel and said.

“Is that a mark of horn?”

Nigel said roughly chewing the bread.

“Is this the first time you’ve seen someone’s horns cut off?”

“Of course this is the first time I’ve seen horns on a head. There is no race with horns in the actual world. If there is it’s the Demons… right?”

Nigel clicked his tongue as he watched Zeke glance around.

“Damn that’s why I said I didn’t want to show you. You idiot. I’m not a demon.”

She hesitated and then slowly opened her mouth.

    “I am a unicorn.”

    “Are you a single-minded person?”

Zig had never heard of the Ilgaekjok before so he couldn’t help but look puzzled.

She patted her full belly and spoke rudely.

“I am a race from the Eastern Continent so I am probably unknown to this continent. I was banished from my homeland with my horn cut off.”

“Are you saying that it is a unicorn but not a unicorn?”

“Tsk to begin with when you’re someone like me the concept of race doesn’t really mean anything.”

Zeke repeated the word ‘unicorn’ and then looked at Nigel.

“Then do the Ilgak tribe still exist in the Eastern Continent?”

“Well it’s been so long since I left my hometown that I don’t really know. It’s a species with a small population to begin with and I’m one of the youngest so it might have died out by now.”

After hearing Nigel’s words Zeke asked one more thing.

“So the Honshinki is a technique passed down from the Ilgakjok?”

Nigel shook his head at those words.

“That is a unique technique that I have developed over the course of hundreds of years. Our clan originally had the ability to manipulate naturalization and hide their bodies but I was kicked out of the clan and lost my power. That is why I opened up the middle of the war and studied ways to manipulate mana.”

“Then Master you didn’t open the suspension battle from the beginning either.”

“Originally the Ilgakjok were a race that could freely control mana through their horns. However since I don’t have horns I found a way to control mana in a different way.”

Seeing that he was banished from his clan and even lost his horns it seemed like Nigel had some circumstances going on.

‘The Ilgakjok. Are they an ancient race that disappeared like the Sam-anjok? I thought they weren’t human but I had no idea they were a race I’d never heard of before.’

It was Zeke who learned new facts he didn’t know in his past life.

After finishing his meal Nigel continued talking while drinking the tea that Zeke had handed him.

“Okay I’ve basically learned how to pray so what are you going to do now?”

After learning the solo spell she didn’t have much more to teach him as he only had to increase his willpower and add each letter.

Zeke looked at Nigel and said.

“There is still work to be done in the Forest of the Forgotten.”

“Huh? What are you doing in this cursed forest?”

Zeke took out a ring with the emblem of the Absolute Sword Master Draker from his inventory.

“Have you ever seen this sentence?”

Nigel took the ring that Zeke had taken out examined it and was startled.

    “Why do you have this?”

Zeke was rather surprised when Nigel reacted to the absolute sword’s sentence.

“Have you ever seen the Absolute Sword’s emblem?”

Nigel looked complicated at Zeke’s words.

She thought about it for a while then looked at Zeke and asked.

“Do you know anything about the sword?”

    Black Shatton Draker.

He founded the Drake family the Absolute Sword Family and left his deepest feelings in the secret chamber that contained its legacy.

Zeke had also come here to find the very same secret hidden in the Forest of the Forgotten.

    Zeke said looking at Nigel.

“Actually I am the successor of the sword.”

Nigel looked surprised once more at his words.

“You’re the successor of the Sword Master? Hmm… so that’s what it’s like.”

Nigel muttered something to himself then put down his teacup and stood up.

“Follow me. I have something to show you.”

Nigel flew the new model into the forest.

Zeke also unleashed his whirlwind and chased after her.

    * * *

    Kookookookook!

A huge vibration echoed from deep underground in the castle of Rome.

In the past it was the site of an altar where Emperor Nero had his pagans perform suspicious rituals but it was now occupied by Lopocale disguised as an apostle.

On the altar there were magic circles drawn in blood and strange unidentifiable organic matter scattered in a mess.

Lopocale held a dagger filled with the power of the constellations and chanted an ominous spell.

Then again there was a shaking from the altar.

    Kookookookookook!

Soon black mist began to rise from the magic circle.

Lopocale took the egg which had hardened like a stone out of his bosom and placed it on the magic circle.

Then the black azalea was sucked into the egg.

    Tsk tsk tsk tsk―

The petrified eggs which had absorbed all the black aura had now turned a dark brown color.

Moreover while its surface had been like a hard stone until just now it had turned into a tough rubber-like substance after absorbing the agar.

    Kkieeeeeeee―

Then a strange sound came out from inside the egg and something started to move as if it was trying to pop out.

Lopocale picked up the black egg in his hand and carefully placed it in the box next to him.

“It’s not time to wake up yet. Stay a little longer.”

He muttered softly then put the egg in the box and closed the lid.

Then he motioned to the warlocks behind him and the warlocks who had been waiting approached and moved the sealed box to the next room.

To my surprise there were dozens of boxes similar to that one stacked in the next room.

Lopocale was gradually preparing to lure and capture Sieg Draker to Rom under the orders of his master the ‘Slimy Pit of Darkness’.

‘It seems like the priest has noticed my identity… but since he hasn’t said anything for now I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.’

Seeing that he let it slide even though he knew that he was a demon it seemed like the priest also had another ulterior motive.

But for now carrying out the master’s orders was important so I decided to think about that later.

As Lopocale came down from the altar after completing the summoning one of the Abyss wizards hurriedly approached him.

“Apostle. Commander Azmun Barrios has arrived.”

At those words Lopocale unconsciously grabbed his head.

‘What is that troublesome guy going to say now?’

While Lopocale was in charge of handling the affairs of the palace in place of the mentally unstable Abel Azmun Barrios the commander of the Magal Palace’s legion was in charge of the military affairs.

It seems that Lopocale being a demon did not know much about human military organization so he felt burdened by extending his hand in that direction.

The problem was that Azmun was not an ordinary gloomy person.

Lopocale a member of the ‘Slimy Pit of Darkness’ was very familiar with this type of person by nature.

‘He’s a guy who’ll do anything for his own benefit. He’s easy to seduce because he wants a lot but he’s very picky when it comes to making contracts.’

Lopocale headed to the palace reception room where Azmun was waiting with a displeased expression on his face.

After Abel and Siemens took possession of Rom the atmosphere in the palace became very tense.

As more and more people died in the palace only silence and desolation remained.

The imperial palace of Rom once the largest on the continent now resembled a magnificent ornate tomb.

As Lopocale walked into the reception room without paying any attention to the atmosphere Azmoon who had been waiting stood up from his seat.

“Your Majesty I Legion Commander Azmun send my greetings.”

At present Lopocale’s position was that of deputy consul in place of the exiled Julius.

Just looking at the fact that an unidentified warlock was appointed as the acting archon of the Empire you could tell how messed up the current situation in Rom was.

However Azmun tried to use this unstable situation of the empire as an opportunity.

Lopocale looked at Azmoun who bowed his head toward him without hesitation and greeted him.

A man with wild hair thick eyebrows a beard covering his face and a massive body.

On the surface he looked like a brilliant warrior rather than a sinister strategist.

But this too was merely used as an element of Azmun’s plan.

On the outside it looked like a simple weapon but inside there were more than ten snakes coiled up.

Those who did not know much about Azmun only saw his appearance and tried to take advantage of his power but ended up being used and abandoned instead.

Lopocale knew Azmun’s true nature so he didn’t show it but was secretly wary. He greeted him and sat down.

“What brings you here Commander? You must be busy handling the affairs of the Geohae Palace Legion.”

It was Azmun who suggested sending the Knights of the Barcalo Sea Palace to establish a base in the Northern Continent attack Himonas from above and pressure the Central Continent from below.

However Fretz the commander of the Knights of the Sea Palace he had sent died and most of the legion’s troops were defeated by Zeke Draker and the Barkal Citizen Army with only some troops surviving and returning.

There was even a rumor that the Knights of the Sea Palace had joined hands with the black magicians to summon monsters and attack Barkal and public opinion was very negative.

Because of this Rome had to cut off the tail by saying that this was an individual deviation by the leader Fretz and the Siemens family also had to divert public attention by working behind the scenes.

Even before hearing the reason for his visit Lopocale started poking Azmun in his sore spot.

Azmun scratched his head in embarrassment at his words.

“Ha that’s already giving me quite a headache. In the end it must have been my fault as the final commander that things went wrong.”

Azmun listened to Lopocale’s words and took a step back bowing his head.

Lopocale frowned upon seeing Azmun’s reaction.

‘I’m telling you they’re the most difficult type of person to deal with.’

He had no choice but to be on guard as he was a human with a more sinister mind than the demon Lopocale.

Then Azmun looked at Lopocale and said.

“Actually I came to see you like this because I wanted to ask you a favor.”

Lopocale looked at Azmun with a displeased expression.

“I may be the acting archon but I am just an ordinary warlock. I don’t know what I can do for you Commander who holds all the forces of the Empire in your hands.”

Then Azmun looked at Lopocale and said meaningfully.

“Zeke Draker. Don’t you want to catch him?”

Lopocale fell silent at his words.

‘What is this guy trying to do….’

Azmun spoke to Lopocale with a serious expression.

“I want to avenge Captain Fretz. Please help me catch Zeke Draker.”
