A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 406
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 406
Kookookookookook!
Nigel approached slowly exuding a threatening air.
Zeke spoke to her trying to keep his composure and catching his breath.
“Nigel Hermit of the Forest. I have come here at the request of the Highlander chieftain.”
Nigel paused for a moment at Zeke’s words.
She said squinting her eyes and glaring at Zeke.
“Is that old man crazy? Why did he send a human here?”
Zeke swallowed hard and spoke to Nigel.
“My name is Zeke Draker. I am a Black Knight and Guardian of House Draker. The leader proposed that we form a joint front to stop the Abyss hordes from invading the continent and I accepted.”
Nigel frowned when he heard Zeke’s name.
“It’s you. The one who stole Guddu-ryong.”
It was Nigel who was dissatisfied with the fact that Zeke had caught the Hydra instead of him in the Barbarian realm.
But the grievance regarding Gudo-ryong was a separate matter for now. She glared at Zeke with a suspicious look.
“Ha! The guy who’s trying to block the abyss is blatantly bringing two Arch Liches with him? And you expect me to believe you?”
Things got messed up when he caught Nigel’s eye while he was carrying the Lich Summoner.
‘How can I explain this to convince this stubborn and eccentric teacher?’
Nothing could be more difficult than convincing Nigel who was full of doubts.
She raised her sword and slowly approached Zeke.
“Why can’t you tell me? It’s getting more and more suspicious. Then let’s cut off each limb first and slowly find out…”
“Wait a minute Master!”
Zeke was so surprised that he blurted out the word “teacher” without realizing it.
Nigel looked at Zeke with a look of bewilderment.
“Is this guy crazy? Who is your master!”
As things got more complicated Zeke had no choice but to just tell Nigel the whole truth.
“Master this may be difficult to understand but I actually went back in time and regressed…”

Choaack!
Nigel swung his sword without listening to Zeke any longer.
“Ugh!”
Zeke barely managed to avoid the sword strike and stepped back picking up Bahamut.
He shouted at Nigel.
“True Master! Please listen to me!”
“After living for a long time I’ve come to know that such a crazy person has come crawling into the forest. I was already in a bad mood so this is good. I’ll beat him up until he tells the truth.”
Knowing that his master was someone who could really do something like that Zeke quickly gathered all his strength.
Kookookookook!
The power of the strong body was imbued into Zig’s body.
Nigel’s expression changed strangely when he saw this.
“Huh? The more I look at it the less I understand. Where on earth did you learn that?”
“I learned it from the Master. In the time before the regression.”
Zeke summoned up his spirit and activated the double spell.
Wooooow!
He immediately swung his sword with the intent to shatter at Nigel.
Kwakwakwakwa!
Even though a sword strike containing the full power of his spirit flew towards him Nigel did not make any moves.
All he did was lightly swing his sword.
Pachin!
In an instant the will to shatter contained in Zeke’s sword was erased and it became an ordinary strike.
‘uh?’
He walked up to Black Nigel in a panic and she grabbed Zeke’s sword with her bare hand.
Then he raised his sword and spoke to Zeke.
“What an idiot swinging this thing around like a weapon.”
As soon as he finished speaking Nigel’s sword flashed.
Zig lost consciousness along with the sword light surrounding him.
* * *
“omg!”
Zeke came to his senses and sat up.
As I looked around I saw a familiar sight.
A wooden house where he and his master stayed while in the Forest of the Forgotten.
Zeke felt goosebumps for a moment at the sight of his house which he hadn’t seen in a long time.
‘Hey wait this wasn’t all a dream was it? I got hit by the teacher and passed out and then had a long dream to escape reality…’
Zeke woke up with a start and seeing himself in his Draker uniform and the status window appearing before his eyes he confirmed once again that his life up until now had not been a dream.
Just as I was sighing in relief the door opened and Nigel came in.
Zeke looked at her and flinched with fear in his eyes without realizing it.

Nigel brought a chair crossed his legs and looked down at Zeke.
Wearing shorts and boots she looked like a cute girl on the outside but in reality she was scarier than anyone else.
Nigel opened his mouth and looked at Zeke.
“Tell me again what you said earlier.”
“Huh? What?”
Nigel was impressed by his question.
“I was talking about time and regression earlier!”
Zeke’s body instinctively trembled at the sound of his teacher’s screaming voice.
‘I was hit so many times in my past life that my body reacted first.’
That’s why I didn’t want to come to the Forest of the Forgotten but now that I’m here there’s nothing I can do.
Zeke opened his mouth slowly.
“I literally went back in time. With the power of the Elder Dragon.”
Nigel’s eyes widened at the mention of elder dragons.
“Crazy… is something like that really possible?”
“Do you believe me?”
Nigel frowned at Zeke’s words and glared at him.
“Oh that’s ridiculous but if that’s not the case then there’s no way to explain how a human being would know about the opening of the Interruption War and even the Honshinki.”
“In my previous life the Master saved me and opened the way to the Sudden End.”
Nigel shook his head.
“There’s no way I could have passed my soul energy to a human if I wasn’t crazy. What the heck….”
Nigel got down from his chair and slowly approached Zeke.
Zeke looked up at Nigel his face pale.
“Why are you doing that?”
“Take it off quickly.”
“yes?”
Nigel frowned and pointed to Zeke’s uniform jacket.
Zeke hastily took off his uniform jacket so as not to provoke Nigel.
A well-developed muscular body was revealed.
Nigel looked closely at Zeke’s pre-interruption part.
“Hmm….”
As if she wasn’t sure what she was seeing she placed her hand on Zeke’s forehead and poured mana into it.
Woohoo!
Then immediately a sentence appeared above Zeke’s mind.
One of them was a sentence that appeared after absorbing Bahamut’s heart.
Nigel looked incredulous when he saw that sentence.
“What is this? Isn’t the dragon’s heart located in the middle of the room?”
It didn’t just have the heart of a dragon it was fused with the mid-war.
She rolled her eyes and quickly interpreted the sentence.
Then he opened his eyes wide and looked at Zeke’s face seeming even more surprised.
“Bahamut the ruler of sunset… Did you absorb Bahamut’s heart?”
Zeke nodded.
“Yes at first I absorbed the cursed heart of the mad dragon but with the help of Hyperion the lord of the Silver Clan I was able to lift the curse.”
Nigel looked confused again.
“Neither human nor dragon. What the hell is this guy?”
As Nigel grumbled and moved his mana again the sentences merged into one and took the shape of a round sphere.
She turned the ball around and examined the engraved marks carefully.
Then her eyes stopped at one point and shook violently.
“This is crazy… There really is a trace of the oath I engraved on it?”
The Highlander’s Oath made by Zeke and Nigel in their previous life.
Zeke couldn’t help but feel nervous because he broke his oath and went to Himonas to stay by Alicia’s side.
While Zeke waited swallowing dry saliva Nigel stared intently at the traces of the oath then for a moment an expression of disbelief appeared on his face.
“What? Does this… make sense?”
She looked down at Zeke with a fierce expression and said.
“What on earth did you do to make me break our oath?”
At those words Zeke opened his eyes wide in surprise and shook his head.
“Huh? You’re saying that the Master broke my oath? That never happened.”
Nigel was furious at those words.
“It pissed me off that I made a pact with a human but why did you break it after making it? It really pisses me off! Did I really do this?”
Zeke saw Nigel’s reaction and realized something he had never known before.
‘Did my teacher release me from the oath I had in my previous life without my knowledge?’
He was an arrogant eccentric teacher with an extremely foul personality.
According to the oath Zeke was originally supposed to succeed Nigel as the caretaker of the Forest of the Forgotten and fulfill his duties as a Highlander.
But Zeke abandoned his oath and went out into the forest to help Alicia.
And then he never returned to the Forest of the Forgotten again.
He was afraid of his teacher’s reaction when he met her again but on the other hand he was always worried about the fact that he had betrayed her who had saved his life and shown him kindness.
So the traces of the Highlander’s Oath always remained in his soul as a burden.
But Zeke couldn’t help but be surprised to hear that the oath had already been broken.
“Wasn’t the oath automatically broken when we went back in time?”
At those words Nigel looked at Zeke as if he found him pitiful.
“You idiot. Do you think I can’t read that much? I released this before. And I did it with the huge backlash in mind. Ha I don’t know why I did that.”
Zeke never thought that his master from his previous life would set him free.
‘Why Master?’
Since he couldn’t go back to his previous life and ask his master what had happened Zeke had no way of knowing the whole story.
He hurriedly put his clothes back on and looked at Nigel.
“Anyway at this point can you believe me?”
Nigel’s expression became complicated at Zeke’s words.
She sat back down in her chair and thought for a while before turning her head towards Zeke.
“You come here.”
Zeke quickly sat down in the seat Nigel had pointed to.
She bit her nails her brow furrowed.
Zeke looked at the sight and chuckled to himself.
‘That habit is still there.’
Then Nigel looked at Zeke and said.
“How far have I taught you the whole story?”
When Nigel suddenly asked about the soul machine Zeke thought for a moment then gathered his thoughts and answered.
“I only learned the beginning part. It had only been a short time since I opened the middle section and I was told that if I learned more my body as a human being would not be able to endure it.”
“Hmm but how did you get the power to double spell?”
“I tried to imitate what the Master did. It was a bit difficult for me to do the triple spell though.”
Nigel looked dumbfounded at Zeke’s words.
“Huh? You just saw the double spell and copied it? You hit the nail on the head.”
Nigel muttered and got up from his seat.
“Follow me.”
Although Zeke was still dissatisfied with her unruly attitude he followed her out of the house without saying anything.
An open space created around a tree house.
Here Zeke was forced to undergo repeated training under Nigel being beaten to the point of near death every day.
I followed her advice that if you try hard enough you will learn so I got hit every day but luckily I didn’t die and was able to open the mid-game.
It was a new experience to stand in that empty space again after such a long time.
‘It really was a huge hit.’
Then Nigel drew his sword and spoke to Zeke.
“Try to use a solo spell with a sword.”
“What kind of will should I bring about?”
“Try anything.”
Zeke grumbled inwardly at Nigel’s rough answer and picked up Bahamut.
He drew up his spiritual power and aroused a strong will.
Nigel sighed when he saw this.
“Seriously where do I even start with this?”
“I did as I was taught so why is this happening?”
Nigel shook his head.
“What do you mean do as you were taught? You’re doing it completely wrong.”
“Yes? In my previous life my teacher told me this…”
“If it’s not me then why are you talking so much? Give it to me and admit it.”
“no.”
Even though I returned as a black knight I was ignored and cursed just like in my previous life.
Nigel said looking at Zeke with his sword in hand.
“Look carefully. You are completely misunderstanding the term ‘honshinki’ right now.”
As soon as he finished speaking the will to teach surged through Nigel’s body.
Tsk tsk tsk―
For a moment Zeke felt as if Nigel had become steel.
‘what?’
Even though I had the same will to teach it felt completely different from what I had done.
Nigel said looking at Zeke.
“You don’t have to force yourself to have a will. You have to become the subject of that will and become one. This is the essence of the Honshinki. A guy with the same personality.”
At the word ‘mojil’ a fragment of the past came to Zeke’s mind.
