    Episode 380

Ramon’s eyes widened at the apostle’s words.

    ‘Arthur Draker’s weakness.’

He looked at the apostle with an expression that said he found it hard to believe and opened his mouth.

    “Is that true?”

The apostle nodded with a wicked smile at Ramon’s question.

“Yes. If we use this even Arthur Draker will be helpless. The others will never be able to find out the cause of Arthur Draker’s death. The priest is preparing to perform the curse ritual now.”

The scary thing about the ancient curse was that even the strongest black knight could not avoid it if he did not know how to defend himself.

Of course the stronger the target of the spell the more sacrifices are needed but Narak who had been doing this for hundreds of years was an expert at this.

Ramon Siemens was also willing to make any sacrifice if only he could defeat Arthur Drake.

‘If I can just defeat Arthur Draker all my previous failures will be for naught.’

The side that was most concerned about the Continental War was the Draker family.

It took less than a week for him to use Abel to get his hands on ROM.

But the Draker family was on a different level from the Roman Empire.

    He said to the apostle.

“If we can just defeat Arthur before the second baptism all our failures will be over and our plan will be considered a success.”

The apostle burst into laughter at Ramon’s words.

“Of course. The priest knows this and is putting all his efforts into this matter. So I think it would be right not to worry too much and to focus on preparing for the second baptism.”

Ramon didn’t like the Apostle who whispered sinisterly like a snake but in the current situation he had no choice but to ask for Naraku’s help.

‘After the second baptism I guess I’ll have to start cleaning these guys up.’

We held hands only out of necessity and had no intention of going together until the end.

Ramon looked down at the unconscious Abel and spoke to the apostle.

“Take good care of it. It is a precious vessel after all.”

Turning around Ramon walked out of the stadium.

The face of the apostle who had been smiling at the place Ramon had left was completely distorted as if nothing had happened.

“Human subject… what an insolent fellow.”

    Tsk tsk tsk―

The apostle’s face collapsed revealing his hidden identity.

The face of the demon with its disgusting tentacles writhing around appeared for a moment.

He was not an apostle of the Abyss but a mid-level demon named ‘Lopocale’ who had consumed the body.

Lopocale quickly put his human skin back on and hid his tentacles.

He reached out and lifted the unconscious Abel with his magical powers then grumbled as he carried him to the room.

“Damn I didn’t think Neville Ross and Viper would end up like that. I was going to watch from the sidelines and step in at the crucial moment but it got annoying.”

His master the ‘Slimy Pit of Darkness’ preferred to plot his gains from behind the scenes rather than being out in front.

Since the retinue followed the master’s tendencies he too had made similar plans.

Viper and Neville who were stronger than him as intermediate-level demons came out to take care of the human souls that fell behind him but he suddenly ended up getting attacked.

It was at that time that I was grumbling inwardly in discontent.

    “Hmm?”

Lopocale stopped for a moment and shuddered.

His master the ‘Slimy Pit of Darkness’ had passed something on to his subordinate.

Lopocale thought deeply about what his master had said then burst into laughter.

“Ha! That is truly a brilliant idea! This servant will follow his master’s orders and capture Zeke Draker.”

‘The Pit of Darkness’ was not a strong constellation but it was worth listening to even if it wasn’t a must-have constellation because it had the insight to read the flow of the battlefield well.

Lopocale stroked his chin and smiled wryly.

‘Zeke Draker. He’s the key to this war. Maybe this will make the plan easier.’

He took Abel into the room with a sinister smile.

The fallen constellations began to take notice of Zig one by one.

    * * *

‘Neutral City. It’s been a while.’

The last neutral city Zeke remembered was one that had been devastated by the continental war.

But the city he looked out over from the street cafe was a lively scene with many people coming and going. Looking at it Zick felt a unique sense of freedom.

Everyone in the city seemed happy right now except for the two rascal twins sitting uncomfortably in front of him.

    “Your Majesty Sir.”

Zig glared at Al who called his name without any notice.

Al immediately shut his mouth and turned his gaze towards the honey tea that Zig had ordered.

Upon arriving at the neutral city Zeke wanted to enjoy the free atmosphere he had not felt in a long time so he went to a cafe he had often visited in his previous life.

But his peace did not last long.

    Clank! Clank!

A group of knights wearing full plate armor approached Zeke.

One of the knights opened his helmet and showed his face.

He approached Zeke with a very nervous expression and bowed his head politely.

“Sir Zeke Draker. I am the captain of the Third Guard of the Neutral City….”

Zeke stopped listening and raised his hand to cut off the captain’s words.

It could have been rude behavior but the captain of the garrison showed no complaint and instead kept his mouth shut and remained motionless.

Zigg renowned as the guardian knight of Draker and the black knight of salvation was the object of envy of all knights on the continent.

Zeke said looking at the captain of the guard.

“What’s going on while I’m having a cup of tea?”

At those words the captain of the garrison glanced at Al and Jeff the brothers sitting in front of Zeke with an embarrassed expression.

    The captain said sweating profusely.

“That’s it. Those of you present are on the list of those who are prohibited from entering the neutral city. As a matter of principle we should arrest them and have the garrison investigate.”

Zeke looked at Al and Jeff in front of him with a dumbfounded expression.

I wondered why it was so hard to do but it turned out that entering a neutral city was impossible in the first place.

“What the hell have you guys been doing?”

Al and Jeff were waving their hands sweating profusely.

“I really didn’t care. I was just joking around a few times!”

“That’s right! I was just joking but they took it too seriously!”

At those words the captain of the garrison frowned and said.

“Those guys once put a diarrhea bomb in the cushion that the mayor would sit on during the annual event as a prank. As soon as the mayor sat down diarrhea-like liquid started pouring out everywhere… It was a total mess.”

Al and Jeff looked off into the distance in different directions seemingly embarrassed.

Seeing that Zeke clicked his tongue and spoke to the captain of the garrison.

“I fully understand your efforts to fulfill your duties as captain of the garrison. However these mischievous children have work to do here with me.”

The captain of the garrison looked embarrassed at Zeke’s words that he could not hand over Al and Jeff.

Then Zeke took off the dragon sword that was on his lapel and gave it to the captain.

“If your superiors ever hold you accountable for this have them mention my name and show you this dragon sword. Then at least the captain of the garrison won’t suffer any harm.”

The mouth of the captain of the garrison who received the dragon sword fell open.

It was none other than the dragon slayer of the Draker family’s guardian knight.

He accepted Zeke’s dragon sword with trembling hands.

    “Ji Jik Kyung. This is…..”

“Leave it to me. I’ll come back to you when I’m done.”

The captain of the garrison his face turning pale at Zeke’s words took out a handkerchief wrapped the dragon sword tightly and put it in his bosom.

Then he bowed his head towards Zeke again.

“I apologize for the inconvenience. Have a nice time.”

The captain of the garrison returned with the knights and guards.

Al and Jeff sighed with a look of resignation that said they had endured ten years then quickly returned to their playful expressions.

“Wow Drake’s footwork is really different.”

“So that leech captain would turn back without saying a word. I was scared for nothing.”

Zeke gave Al and Jeff a cold look.

Al and Jeff who had been acting lighthearted and playful for a while immediately shut their mouths and remained quiet when they caught Zeke’s gaze.

    Zick said while drinking tea.

“If you cause another accident here you should know that you will be sent to the Southern Islands Academy to speak with Lady Arina.”

At those words Al and Jeff’s faces turned white.

They too had heard rumors about Arina’s interview.

It is said that after meeting with her any vicious criminal would either become terrified and lose their mind or change completely and become a docile lamb.

But it was even more terrifying because it was unknown what exactly Arina did and how she did it during the interview.

Zeke smiled with satisfaction as he watched Al and Jeff tremble in fear.

    But then someone approached Zeke.

“Sir please buy me a flower.”

A young girl was selling flowers with a basket of flowers.

Zeke nodded at the girl and handed her a gold coin.

Then the girl shook her head sweating profusely.

“Sir how can I get the change for that gold coin…?”

“I don’t need change. The flowers are pretty so I’ll buy the whole basket.”

At Zeke’s words the girl smiled brightly and handed over the basket.

Al and Jeff looked at Zeke with a puzzled look on their faces.

    ‘Did Sir Jik like flowers?’

‘It doesn’t suit you at all.’

Ignoring the two people’s true feelings that were clearly visible through their expressions Zik looked into the flower basket.

    ‘I knew it.’

Inside the basket was a scroll sent by Bacchus.

He hypnotized the flower girl and sent the scroll to Zeke.

Zeke put the scroll in his inventory and handed the flower basket to Al and Jeff.

“Why are you giving me this?”

    “I don’t like that flower.”

He said as he looked at Al and Jeff.

“Take this and apologize to the people you guys have offended by causing trouble in this city and give them a flower. If you don’t do it properly you’ll have to have an interview.”

At Zeke’s words Al and Jeff slumped with soulless expressions.

Zeke stood up leaving the two behind.

Then he went to a quiet place took out the scroll Bacchus had given him and tore it up.

    Woohoo!

As the scroll was activated something appeared before Zeke’s eyes.

    Tsk tsk tsk―

A small bat-like thing began to circle around Zig.

Then as if telling me to follow him he flew low and headed somewhere.

‘Is this a magic that specifies a location?’

This was the first time Zeke had seen magic like this and it seemed like it might be the magic of vampires.

Zeke put on his shape-shifting cloak changed his appearance and followed the bat into the alley.

The neutral city was a large and free city so there was also a huge invisible world behind it.

Externally the Black Market City in the lawless zone was the largest black market but when it came to obtaining rare materials for illegal potions or smuggled medicines the black markets in neutral cities were more advantageous.

Zeke also frequently used this black market in his past life.

During war supplies are always in short supply and the Alchemist’s Guild tried to sell only at high prices so although it was somewhat unstable they had no choice but to use relatively cheap black market copy goods.

As I followed the bat further inside I saw a tattoo shop deep in the alley.

A young man and woman with tattoos all over their bodies stood around the store staring at Zig.

Zeke checked the patches on the leather vests they were wearing.

‘Those are the Red Eye guys.’

The black market in the eastern region especially in the neutral cities was one of the places where territorial disputes between Red Eye and the Nostra Family were intense.

Every corner of the street had its own territory and if you invaded that territory retaliation would come immediately.

And this seemed to be Red Eye’s territory.

    A young vampire approached Zeke.

“Hey this is not a place for humans. Get out of here when I speak nicely to you.”

Zeke looked around and finally raised his head to find the bat. The thing was circling around at the entrance of the tattoo shop.

I felt like I had to go in here.

When Zeke showed no reaction the young vampire approached.

“This kid. His words don’t sound like words…”

    Bam!

Zeke extended his fist and lightly struck the vampire’s jaw.

It seemed like a light hit but the vampire fell to the ground.

The other vampires who were watching this while leaning against the wall were startled.

Zeke looked at them and said.

    “Go and get your captain.”
