    Episode 362

“You say he was destroyed because he was loved by the gods?”

Zeke didn’t quite understand what Arina was saying.

Arina began to explain to Zig in more detail.

“If we talk about history and say that the period after the War of Liberation was the Golden Age and the era of King Caesar was the Heroic Age then the era of Carcosa was the Constellation Age.”

“It is the age of the constellations…..”

“They say there were more races and cities back then than there are now. Among them Carcosa was the city most loved by the constellations.”

    “Love of the constellations?”

“Yes. Even then the constellations were able to intervene in the phenomenal world and were free to grant their powers to those they pleased.”

Zeke remembered hearing something similar from Aratasso.

‘The Box of the Constellations. It is said that the constellations gave support to their incarnations.’

    Arina continued.

“Solomon was the king of Carcosa. As the king of Carcosa who was loved by the gods his power and authority must have been incomparable to that of the kings of today.”

Zeke thought of Blanca the golden city where Hades was imprisoned.

Blanca was able to manipulate karma within the city itself and even use it to subjugate dragons.

If we assume that Carcosa was a city with greater power than Blanca King Solomon who ruled it would have been able to wield absolute power.

Arina continued nodding at the book in Zeke’s hand.

“In the Apocrypha King Solomon is described as being very wise and powerful. He is even described as being comparable to the constellations.”

“Are you talking about the constellations?”

After hearing Arina’s words Zeke thought of Solomon’s ring.

‘If I could manipulate karma with the power of the city seal the demons in the ring subjugate them and then use the power as I wish… I could certainly do that.’

“The problem started after the death of King Solomon who was wise and powerful.”

    “What problem have you encountered?”

“As the intervention of the constellations grew too great those who were loved by them began to use their powers as they pleased to fulfill their own desires and eventually the phenomenal world fell into chaos. Carcosa once the largest and most beautiful city in existence came to be called the City of Corruption.”

    “A city of corruption…”

“It is written there that the terrible atrocities committed by the worshippers indiscriminately in order to attract the attention of the Holy See are beyond words.”

    She continued.

“In the end the Creator’s agent who could no longer bear to watch the corruption of Carcosa used the primordial light to erase Carcosa over the course of seven days.”

    “You erased the city?”

“Yes. It was written that after that the phenomenal world lost the brilliant civilization of Carcosa and had to start over again. However since theologians completely deny the existence of the ancient civilization called Carcosa this content is not included in the current Bible.”

It was Carcosa who could handle karma.

But if the city itself was to disappear then an elder dragon or something stronger would have intervened.

Zeke thought of the Godslayer that Tyr had previously spoken of.

‘A godslayer who killed gods who intervened excessively in the phenomenal world. It is said that he later became corrupt and became the king of the fallen constellations.’

Zeke asked Arina about the new killer.

“Was there anything about a new killer in the Apocrypha?”

Arina shook her head at Zeke’s question.

“A new killer? That’s the first time I’ve heard of such a thing.”

It seems that there is no mention of the Godkiller in the Apocrypha.

    Then Arina clapped her hands.

“Oh maybe that content is there.”

    “Where are you talking about?”

“Laura’s notebook. I believe there are many things written in it that I have not heard of.”

    ‘Your mother’s notebook?’

    Zeke asked Arina.

“Do you know where your mother’s notebook is?”

Arina shook her head with a pitiful expression.

“We’ve barely had any contact since Laura joined the Draker family. However… I remember her mentioning in passing that she had a hideout in the northern Himonas area. Maybe she left her notebook there.”

Zik chewed on the word Himonas.

    ‘Himonas’s mother?’

Currently in the Northern Continent an army of monsters was advancing across the Ice Mountains towards Himonas.

If Himonas fell to the monster army the records left by Laura Agamemnon could have disappeared.

For Jikros it was one more reason to go to Himonas.

After chatting for a while and relaying information to Zeke Arina checked the time and stood up.

“Sir Zeke I will return to the academy in the Southern Isles.”

Arina established an academy in the Southern Isles and managed it for the children rescued from the Luverne clan as well as from the fishermen and slave traders who had moved their residence.

It was made by Zig because he wanted to teach and look after children there and help them become independent as adults.

Although the facilities were still insufficient the plan was to slowly complete them and gradually increase their size.

“Are you not uncomfortable with your stay? If you wish I can build an academy for you in Mycenae.”

At those words Arina shook her head.

“No the island we’ve settled on now is big so the kids like it and I feel comfortable there too.”

Arina was a woman who had been chased by the Empire and the Holy Kingdom her entire life.

For her the Southern Islands were a relaxing vacation spot.

Zeke nodded as if he understood and spoke to Arina.

“If you need anything please let me know.”

    Arina greeted Zig politely.

“Thank you Sir Zeke. For all you have done for us. May the God of Light brighten your future.”

A few days after Arina returned I finally received a call from the Four Seasons.

This was the official announcement from the Draker family regarding the awarding of the Guardian Knight title to Zeke.

    * * *

    Doo doo doo doo!

Zig sat in the carriage and headed towards the Four Seasons Castle.

Across from him sat Duke neatly dressed in his Draker uniform for the first time in a long while.

Duke looked at Zeke and asked.

    “Are you nervous?”

At those words Zeke shook his head.

“Surprisingly that’s not the case. What about you Master?”

The Duke took the bottle from his bosom and took a sip.

“I’m nervous. Damn it my disciple is getting the Guardian Knight title. I’ve never gotten that before.”

Not all black knights ascend to the position of guardian knight.

Conversely it was not necessary to be a black knight to receive the rank of Guardian Knight.

In the case of Gareth the Scarred Knight he was a Red Knight but as the leader of the Black Wolf Order one of the three great knight orders of the Drakers he was given the title of Guardian Knight in consideration of his influence within the family and his achievements.

The title of Drake’s Guardian Knight was given based not only on his abilities as a knight but also on his qualities as an executive who would lead the family.

The carriage carrying Zeke and Duke entered the castle.

When I looked down I saw that the knights of the family were already lined up in front of Atumfell.

It was a spectacular sight to see dozens of Drake knights lined up in their uniforms.

As Zeke disembarked all the knights bowed their heads to greet him.

The fact that such a ceremony was being held before the title had even been awarded was a clear indication of how the family viewed Zeke.

Zeke tried to enter the hall of Atumfell with the Duke through the ranks of knights.

Then the guide approached them and said

“I’m sorry Sir Zeke but the appointment ceremony is not held in the hall.”

Most of the family’s major events take place at Atumfell.

However the guide took the two to a large parade ground outside of Atumpel.

And only when he got to the grand parade ground did Zeke understand why the venue had been changed.

A large crowd enough to fill the spacious training grounds attended Zeke’s inauguration ceremony.

The number of people attending was incomparable to that of when Abel received the title of Guardian Knight and the powerful figures and famous knights of each kingdom were in attendance.

And surprisingly among the attendees was the Sword King Bernas Drake who rarely appears at official events.

Duke whispered to Zeke after seeing Bernas participating in the event.

“Hey what’s up with that guy? I told him to come over when he was bored but I didn’t think that old man with a heavy butt would actually come.”

Since the Duke was on friendly terms with Bernas he was even more curious about his attendance.

But Zeke seemed to have an idea why Bernas had come here.

His gaze turned to the platform installed in front of the training ground.

There appeared Kali sitting there in silver armor.

Carly looked at Zeke with a stern expression.

Although it is not known to the world Sword King Bernas was Kali Draker’s teacher.

‘I don’t know if the appearance of the Sword King will be a blessing or a curse to me.’

Zeke slowly walked across the large stage toward the platform.

As the most renowned knight in the Central Continent the presence of Zeke Draker was incomparable to that of other knights.

The moment he appeared everyone stopped chattering and focused on him.

Zeke walked confidently up to the podium and looked at Arthur Draker sitting on it.

Then Arthur Draker slowly rose from his seat.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all the distinguished guests gathered here today!”

After the formal greetings Arthur Draker got down to business.

“Therefore the Draker Council and the Guardian Knights of the Cross have decided to grant Zeke Draker the title of Guardian Knight!”

From Arthur Draker’s mouth came the official appointment of Sieg Draker as Guardian Knight.

Everyone who attended the event applauded and congratulated Zeke Draker.

    “Knight of Salvation!”

    “Glory to the Draker family!”

The knights of the Black Sword Knights also cheered in joy at the appointment of Zeke as their guardian knight.

Felix whistled and climbed onto Liam’s shoulder yelling.

“My lord! You are truly the best! It is an honor to serve you!”

Everyone laughed brightly at Felix’s loud and boisterous congratulations.

    But then it happened.

    thud!

King Bernas who had been quietly watching the event suddenly walked towards the stage.

A large old man wearing thick leather clothing and a long scar running from his forehead to his chin.

The Sword King Bernas stood in front of Zeke radiating tremendous pressure.

Then out of the blue he pulled out his sword.

Those who were watching the event were momentarily taken aback.

When the other knights tried to stop Bernas Arthur raised his hand and stopped their actions.

Arthur watched with interest to see how Zeke would react.

Bernas opened his mouth to Zeke.

“Pull out your sword you little brat.”

At Bernas’s words Zeke took the Black Sword Bahamut out of his inventory and held it in his hand.

As Arthur gestured the knights around him lined up and formed a circle around Zeke and Bernas.

In an instant a temporary stadium was created where the match between Bernas and Zeke would take place.

Zeke couldn’t tell why Bernas had pointed his sword at him.

But that doesn’t mean I have any intention of backing down from this fight.

‘Sword King Bernas one of the strongest swordsmen on the continent.’

Zeke dreamed of becoming the strongest man on the continent and being free.

And now one of the strong men he had dreamed of was right in front of him.

It was a good opportunity to test how close he was to becoming the strongman he dreamed of.

The sword name rang out from the sword held by Zeke.

    Wooooow!

Upon hearing Bahamut’s command Bernas lowered his sword.

What he was holding was a plain old-looking sword.

I couldn’t feel anything not even the Auror Blade.

Zig was the first to rush towards Bernas who was standing still holding his sword like a tall tree.

    Hoooooooong―

    “Chahaaaat!”

A silent aura enveloped Zig’s sword.

Zig’s special move the Black Sword Technique was unleashed.

Zig’s sword strike filled with a silent aura landed on Bernas’ head.

    Crunch-

But surprisingly Bernas’ sword cut through Zig’s sword strike.

    ‘what’s this.’

Although Zigg had faced countless strong opponents this was the first time that the sword’s energy itself had been cut off.

Zeke stepped back retrieving his sword without landing a follow-up strike.

Bernas stood still in the same posture as before.

Zeke couldn’t sense any energy from him.

‘It’s not an Auror Blade or an Astral Sword. It’s just a real sword cut.’

It was hard to believe that the Auror Blade could be cut with just a sword but the Sword King did it.

When Zig hesitated and did not come in this time the Sword King moved first.

    thud!

He took a step forward and swung his sword.

It was literally just a really ordinary horizontal slash.

But then at that moment something unbelievable happened.

Zeke’s body was completely cut off by the Sword King’s sword.
