    Episode 355

The air in the room became heavy at Zeke’s sudden remark.

Howard sweat profusely and looked at Arthur Draker while Baron remained silent.

Arthur listened to Zeke’s words and put down the plate of cake he was holding.

He looked at Zeke with an expression of interest.

“I refuse to be a Guardian Knight. I want to hear why.”

The voice was soft but the atmosphere felt tense unlike just a moment ago.

Zeke opened his mouth catching his breath.

“I believe that if I were to receive the title of Guardian Knight now the entire family would fall into chaos.”

Arthur stroked his beard as he listened to Zeke.

“The family is in chaos. What does that mean?”

There was no way Arthur could not have figured out Zeke’s intentions.

I wanted to hear directly from Zeke what he expected the situation to be like going forward.

“If I were to receive the title of Guardian Knight the race for succession with Lord Kali Draker would only intensify.”

With Abel missing Kali was now the only candidate for successor.

But at this point if we ignored the procedure and gave Zeke the title of Guardian Knight he would be blatantly recognized as a force to check Kali.

This was because with the fame of Zeke shaking the entire continent the support of the Agamemnon family who had the support of the lords of the central region and the status of a guardian knight he could gain power greater than Abel.

Arthur chuckled after hearing Zeke’s words.

“Is the stability of your family more important to you than receiving the title of Guardian Knight?”

“I am a Draker. Without my family I am nothing.”

It was still Zeke who gave exemplary answers in front of Arthur.

Arthur slowly got up from his seat.

“Zeke. I have something to show you.”

He left Howard and Baron in the office and took Zeke into another room inside the office.

It was a room connected to the personal storage room where Laura Agamemnon’s watch was previously stored.

This time Arthur took Zeke into the personal storage room.

But this time he headed deeper into the storage room stood in front of a crystal ball attached to the inner wall of the storage room took off his gloves and raised his hand.

Then a light flashed from the crystal ball and the portal became activated.

    Woohoo!

The scenery in the room changed in an instant.

    ‘What is this?’

A security portal like those found in ancient ruins was installed in the personal belongings storage room.

As Zeke looked around he saw an old-looking common space that was far removed from the scenery of his personal belongings room.

    Arthur said to Zeke.

“You’re the first of my children to show me this place.”

Zeke was surprised to hear Arthur’s words.

That meant that it was a space that had not even been shown to Kalina Abel who had been candidates for succession for a long time. I didn’t know that such a secret space would be shown to Zeke first.

    Arthur gestured to Zeke.

    “Follow me.”

Zeke followed Arthur down the hallway that led to the common area.

As we passed through the long hallway a large door appeared in front of us.

But there was a familiar phrase engraved on the door.

    ‘That’s…?’

A crude design depicting only a single sword without any other decoration.

It was a phrase engraved on the ring of the absolute sword Draker discovered previously.

As Arthur reached out the door began to slowly open.

    “Let’s go in.”

Zeke followed Arthur into the door.

    * * *

    Drrrrrrrrr―

The door to the ‘Labyrinth’ the secret home of the Siemens family which is a tightly guarded area that no one can approach has opened.

As the door with the picture of two snakes biting their tails rose Ramon Siemens the head of the Siemens family stepped inside.

    Krrrrrr—

    Kaaa …

    Krrrr!

Terrible screams echoed from here and there inside.

It was the most heavily secured space in the labyrinth where important experimental subjects from Siemens experiments were stored.

Ramon Siemens and the wizards of the family headed towards the innermost room where the test subjects were kept.

Black knights covered in armor guarded the room.

It was only when Ramon Siemens approached that they let their guard down and stepped aside.

As Ramon entered the room he saw the wizards of the Abyss moving busily inside.

Buckets strewn here and there contained the bodies of the test subjects and the floor was covered in sticky fluids and blood.

Ramon frowned for a moment at this.

Soon a wizard from the Abyss approached Ramon.

    “Welcome my lord.”

Ramon looked at him and said.

    “Where is the priest?”

“Please wait a moment. I am almost at the end of my consciousness.”

Ramon frowned again at the wizard’s words.

As he tried to push past the wizard and enter other wizards from the Abyss rushed in and blocked Ramon’s path.

The wizard of the abyss who had first approached Ramon shouted at him.

“My lord! You can’t! We’re in the middle of an important ritual. If you go in the ritual may fail!”

Ramon paid no heed to such warnings.

He raised his hand and opened his palm towards the wizards.

Then he waved his hand to the side and the wizards were pushed to the side by an invisible force.

Ramon defeated the wizards who tried to stop him and walked inside leading the wizards of the family.

The wizards of the Abyss tried to stop them but they were unable to move due to the invisible force that was pressing down on their bodies.

    “Ugh!”

Ramon reached out toward the door blocking his way.

    Woojijijijik―

The door made of solid iron was crumpled like a piece of paper by Ramon’s force.

    thud!

The crumpled iron door flung aside at Ramon’s gesture.

    Ramon slowly entered the door.

The inside of the ceremony hall was filled with the thick smell of blood.

    Two apostles approached Ramon.

The apostles who were higher in rank and more powerful than the common warlocks of the Abyss blocked Ramon and spoke.

“The ceremony is still in progress so we cannot go in any further.”

    Ramon frowned at those words.

“You look at me too softly.”

As Ramon lightly stomped his foot a huge magic circle appeared on the floor.

When they felt a strong energy within the magic circle the apostles flinched and stepped back.

But since they couldn’t just give in like this the apostles also tried to release their strength but surprisingly they couldn’t use any strength.

    “Oh how could this be….”

As soon as the magic circle was spread out this place became Ramon Siemens’ territory.

Ramon opened his mouth looking at the bewildered apostles.

    “Get out of the way.”

Ramon’s words put the apostles in an awkward situation where they could neither step aside nor endure.

But then a voice rang out from inside.

    “Guide the family inside.”

Only after the priest gave the command did the apostles bow their heads and step aside from the door.

Ramon entered the door with a frown on his face.

A priest with his hood turned over was waiting for Ramon.

“I didn’t know Ramon Siemens would cause such a ruckus.”

At the priest’s words Ramon glared at him and opened his mouth.

“I kept contacting you but you didn’t respond. I didn’t know this would happen?”

Narak and Siemens had a symbiotic relationship.

Siemens devoted its capital and manpower to providing technology that would help build a stronger military.

If it had been normal Ramon wouldn’t have been this angry even if there had been no other contact from the abyss.

But when it comes to Abel’s resurrection it’s a different story.

Ramon Siemens had recently heard that the Emperor who had personally traveled to the Holy King’s ruins had died there and that the knights and soldiers had all surrendered to Sieg Drake.

The emperor’s usual antics of being dragged around by a black snake in his mouth were the cause of the trouble as he thoughtlessly sent an orc unit to the castle country.

For him the longer the emperor lasted the more advantageous it was for him to keep Julius in check and rule the empire so he granted the emperor’s request.

But the situation changed drastically when the emperor unexpectedly died at the ruins.

Moreover the situation became more complicated because the second prince that Julius was trying to establish was held captive by Zeke’s side.

Ramon who was trying to take advantage of Abel who had royal blood while the empire was in chaos needed to know how the ritual was progressing in order to handle the situation. However he was even more anxious because the priest did not say anything in such an urgent situation.

The priest looked at Ramon and laughed.

“It’s so funny how your once confident face has become distorted. Ramon Siemens you too are a mortal who cannot escape the limitations of humanity. ”

Ramon stepped forward ignoring the priest’s taunts and said:

“I didn’t come all the way here to hear that kind of stuff. What happened to your consciousness?”

The priest pointed toward the altar without saying a word.

Ramon turned his head to look at the altar and slowly walked towards it.

As they climbed the stairs to the altar they saw Abel tied to the stone steps on top of it.

His hands feet and even his neck were bound with chains but they didn’t seem like ordinary chains.

Ramon’s expression changed as he looked at Abel lying there with his eyes closed.

‘You’ve returned to human form again.’

Previously it had the form of a dragon but now it had returned to its original human form.

Ramon reached out and grabbed Abel’s wrist.

His body was still stiff like a corpse with no blood circulating.

    Ramon’s expression hardened.

Ramon asked the priest who had suddenly appeared on the altar.

“What happened? Did the ritual fail?”

Then the priest looked at Ramon and said

“I said it was impossible to revive Abel.”

At those words Ramon glared at him and said.

“Are you kidding me with words again? I can’t stand it anymore…”

    Bam!

Abel who had been lying motionless for a moment opened his eyes and grabbed Ramon’s wrist.

    Kkwadduk!

An unpleasant cracking sound came from Ramon’s wrist as he was caught by Abel.

Despite his broken wrist Ramon turned his head without changing his expression and looked down at Abel who had opened his eyes.

    Krrrrrr—

At that moment Abel’s eyes turned into dragon eyes and half of his face returned to the form of a dragonman.

Ramon asked the priest while Abel held his wrist.

“Have you become a mindless monster?”

『As I said before it is impossible to completely revive Abel since his soul has disappeared. This is closer to a homunculus that has Abel’s appearance.』

Then Abel raised his body and tried to bite Ramon’s neck.

At that moment the priest stretched out his hand and the chains around Abel’s limbs and neck became red hot.

    Cheeeeeeek―

    Kwaaaaak!

The chains burned Abel’s body causing him to scream and struggle.

    Clang!

At that moment the chains were pulled Abel’s limbs were restrained and he was forced to be restrained against the stone steps again.

    Krrrrrr—

Abel growled and glared at the priest.

Ramon looked down at his broken wrist.

He put his hand on his broken wrist and stroked it.

So the broken wrist returned to its original state.

Ramon looked down at the unreasoning Abel and said to the priest

“You must have known that you couldn’t put Abel on stage in this condition. Surely you didn’t say that the ritual was successful with this did you?”

The priest nodded at those words and took something out of his pocket.

The priest opened the lid that had been covering the hole in the long-necked vial.

At that moment a foul smell rose from inside the bottle.

The priest held the spout of the vial to Abel’s ear as he stood there looking aggressive tied to the stone steps.

    Ss …

Something crawled out of the vial and wriggled into Abel’s ear.

Ramon watched the priest’s actions with a calm expression even though he saw the horrific sight.

When something in the bottle had completely crawled into Abel’s ear the priest put the cap back on the bottle and put it in his bosom.

Soon Abel twisted his body violently.

    “Ugh!”

He looked like he was going to die at any moment twisting his limbs and screaming in agony.

But after a while words began to pour out of Abel’s mouth instead of screams.

“I command you to show me what the situation is going to be like Drake and that death is inevitable…!”

Words that were incomprehensible poured out of Abel’s mouth.

The priest looked at Ramon and said

『Unlike the mortal world there are many strange creatures in the Demon World. Among them there are those that absorb the memories of their hosts store them and then imitate their appearance.』

The demonic creature that had taken up residence in Abel’s head was attempting to read his memories and mimic his usual behavior.

A precise sentence suddenly came out of Abel’s mouth who had been spouting strange words.

“My name is Abel Draker. I am the Black Knight of House Draker.”
