A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 327
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 327
‘The site of the first king’s remains?’
This was information I had never heard of in my previous life but since he was an emperor who would go around digging up every historical site on the continent it was not surprising that he would covet the relics of the first holy king.
Souma said to Zeke.
“According to intelligence the Emperor’s health is currently deteriorating significantly. We believe that the relics that can cure his illness can be found in the ruins of the first Holy King and we suspect that he is personally leading an army to find them under the pretext of saving the Holy Kingdom.”
After hearing Souma’s words Zeke realized why the Emperor himself had led the army and marched to the Holy Kingdom.
‘The Orc legion must have been sent by the Emperor as well. They need an excuse to enter the Holy Kingdom.’
What was surprising was that Siemens accepted the emperor’s crazy request.
To utilize the monster army the power of Siemens and Narak was needed.
It was unclear whether the Emperor had really mobilized the Orc Legion in a desperate attempt to cure his illness or whether Siemens or Narak had other intentions but it was clear that this would cause great chaos not only in the Holy Kingdom but also in the Empire.
‘The second prince the successor is currently in my hands and the emperor is throwing tantrums so Julius must be having a hard time.’
The fact that the empire was in disarray meant that there were many opportunities to exploit it.
In his previous life Zig lost his life to hunting dogs sent by the Emperor.
It cannot be said that the emperor has no grudge.
‘We didn’t have a chance to meet in our previous lives. But in this life… I guess I’ll have a chance for revenge.’
Then Souma opened his mouth again.
“The Lord wants you to capture the traitor Bacchus.”
I talked in circles but in the end what the black stage wanted was Bacchus.
“Is it because of the Pope’s successor?”
Souma shook his head at Zeke’s question.
“That’s one thing but Bacchus himself is a bigger problem. He’s from the Dark Stage and a direct descendant of Draker so he knows too much information. If Bacchus makes a deal with the Emperor and defects to the Empire Draker will inevitably suffer a huge blow.”
As Zeke listened to Souma’s words several questions arose in his mind.
‘You wouldn’t have asked me to bring Bacchus to you just for that reason.’
Zeke also thought that this might be another test of Arthur’s bad taste.
It could have been a test to see how to capture and deal with Bacchus his direct blood relative.
‘Or maybe Bacchus really knows some secret and he’s entrusting it to me because it can’t be leaked to the Empire or even the Dark Side.’

It seemed as if there were many complicated circumstances hidden within it.
Souma said to the troubled Zeke.
“The Lord said that if you complete this mission you will be greatly rewarded.”
Zeke was able to lend some strength to his guess based on Souma’s words.
‘The head of the household came out like this. It seems there’s something about Bacchus.’
But even if it wasn’t necessarily because of Arthur’s test if Bacchus handed over the Pope’s successor to the Emperor as Souma had said and went in search of the Holy King’s ruins there was a possibility that things would go wrong.
‘It would be better to first find a successor from Bacchus and then wait for the Emperor at the Holy King’s ruins and deal with him.’
Zeke knew that the Holy King Geo Luverne was the child of Claudia Luverne a polymorph of Bahamut and Terracan Draker.
‘It is highly likely that the ruins of Geo Luverne will also be linked to the system.’
In that case it seemed most advantageous to set a trap there and capture the emperor.
After understanding the situation Zeke asked Souma again.
“Has Bacchus’ whereabouts been confirmed?”
“They were found hiding in an old monastery not far from Vadoka.”
“Okay. I have another question.”
“Please speak.”
“Is it absolutely necessary to capture Bacchus?”
Although they had different biological mothers Bacchus and Zeke were brothers who had the same father.
As he watched Zeke ask if he could kill without hesitation to complete the mission Souma could feel anew that he was a direct descendant of Draker.
Souma nodded slowly and said.
“I don’t think it’ll matter if you don’t leave any traces. However I need proof that Bacchus is dead.”
“Understood. Please tell the master that I will carry out that mission.”
At Zeke’s answer Souma smiled with satisfaction and held out his hand.
“It was nice meeting you Sir Zeke. If you need anything in the future please contact the Black Stage. I will be happy to repay your help.”
When Zeke let go of Souma’s hand he was holding a black business card in his hand.
‘Is this the frequency of the communication port that allows direct contact with the head of the intelligence department of the Black Stage? It must have been urgent to give me something like this.’
Souma achieved his goal and left headquarters immediately.
Zeke left alone thought about it and then called Boris and Decker.
As soon as Decker entered the room he bowed his head with the reserved demeanor of a knight.
“Did you call my lord?”
Zeke said to Decker.
“As soon as Decker’s preparations are complete march to the Badoka Castle with the White Knights.”
“Are you saying that your lord will not lead you personally?”
“There’s something I need to take care of first. We’ll go to the Holy Kingdom together. We’ll split up for a bit in the middle and then we’ll finish the mission and meet up in front of the Holy Kingdom of Badoka.”
Decker knew that Zeke had met with the Black Stage so he figured out that the mission he was talking about was a secret mission for the Draker family.
Decker nodded immediately.
“All right.”
“And please contact Master Duke in Atlas. He was active in the Holy Kingdom when he was younger so he should know the Badoka Holy Kingdom well. Let’s ask him for help.”

Decker’s expression brightened at those words.
“It would be great if the Duke came.”
Zeke ordered Decker to go out and make full preparations then spoke to Boris who was left alone.
“You seem a lot more comfortable these days.”
“No way boss.”
“It seems like you’ve become quite friendly with the killers of Salmak. What do you think?”
“Since we do similar things we are quite close. Do you plan on trying to persuade them?”
“If possible that would be great too.”
Boris had a complicated expression on his face at Zeke’s words.
“Well they are definitely skilled assassins since they are the assassins of Salmak. But as you know if the Salmak guys find out the treaty you made will become meaningless and the assassins will continue to swarm you.”
“The old man on the mountain is not the type of person who will keep that treaty until the end. He must have already told the assassins to kill me if they get the chance.”
“Huh? No way….”
“That guy is still a guy who can do that.”
At those words Boris’s eyes became sharp.
“Then should we just deal with them now?”
“I thought you were quite fond of each other. Or maybe you weren’t?”
“But work is work.”
Zeke saw glimpses of himself from his days as a hitman in Boris.
He shook his head.
“There’s no need for that. I’ll sort it out soon enough.”
For a moment Boris felt a chill down his spine at Zeke’s words.
His master was never the type to let someone point a knife at him.
‘You’re trying to swallow the flesh by taking advantage of the opportunity.’
Salmak who has steadfastly maintained his position without bowing down to any kingdom for hundreds of years.
But if Zeke were to clean them up would they be able to hold out?
Boris couldn’t imagine a situation in which Zeke failed.
‘The wind of blood will blow in the desert.’
Then with a bitter smile on his face Zeke spoke to Boris.
“Boris we will enter the Holy Realm and go capture Bacchus Drake.”
Boris said flustered by Zeke’s sudden words.
“Are you talking about Draker’s traitor? Why is he suddenly….”
“I’ll tell you the details later. Just you and Shadia will follow me.”
Boris nodded with an expression of as expected.
“I was anxious from the moment the boss called me aside… I will prepare right away.”
“Okay have you heard any news on how Hades and the Ishtar side’s mystics are doing?”
“I just received a call from Mycenae. Hades is telling me to catch Ishtar’s children like rats and bring them all sorts of materials. As a result strange things are gradually piling up in Agamemnon Castle every day.”
“Let Hades do as he pleases and how is Yellin doing?”
Boris made a strange expression at Zeke’s question about Yellin.
Because Yellin was the first woman Zeke had ever asked about.
“Yelin set out on a journey to the northern forest to find traces of his ancestors.”
“The northern forest…..”
Boris asked cautiously watching Zeke pondering deeply.
“Boss are you really thinking of marrying Ishtar’s successor?”
To Boris Yelin’s beauty was the very essence of beauty.
Angelina who was said to be the most beautiful woman on the continent was also a beauty but Yellin had the appearance of a goddess of beauty who possessed both mystery and elegance.
If you take away her fearsome background as Ishtar’s successor she had such a beautiful appearance that you would want to possess her even if you had to give up your soul.
At those words Zeke looked at Boris with a pitiful expression.
“It looks like I’m in a situation where I’m thinking about getting married right now.”
“No that’s not it. I’m just saying just in case.”
“Stop talking nonsense. How did you protect Lady Yellin?”
“Ishtar’s magicians followed them. We also sent a few of our own to report immediately if anything happened.”
“Okay. If anything happens just let me know.”
If anything happened to Yellin it was obvious that Jamilla the head of the Ishtar family would rush to cut off her head.
Then Boris said to Zeke.
“Boss I have one more thing to tell you.”
“What?”
“Arina contacted me. She said that she had taught the Six assassins who had tried to assassinate the boss to be quiet and well-behaved.”
“…I really don’t know what Arina did to make those mafia guys change their minds.”
“I was also very curious but I couldn’t bring myself to ask.”
“Did they say they need treatment too?”
“Yes it’s the same as Zion’s case. It’s said that his abilities were raised with medicine. And that sand power user’s condition seems to be quite severe.”
“It’s obvious what the mafia guys are doing. Okay. I’ll have to get treatment first when I stop by Agamemnon Castle later.”
After finishing his story Zeke told Boris to get ready.
A few days later dozens of Kali’s warships set sail from Jason.
The warship was carrying the Black Sword Knights led by Zeke and the White Silver Knights led by Runo.
The warship carrying them raced towards the Holy Kingdom.

Krrrrrrrrrr―
Ki-ki …
Crunch! Crunch!
Terrible sounds came from within dozens of thick iron doors.
Ramon Siemens walked with a serious expression down a hallway made of solid natural stone with the doors on either side.
He was followed by wizards from the Siemens Secret Magic Corps.
When Ramon raised his hand the iron door at the end of the hallway opened by itself.
As soon as the door opened a terrible stench came out of the stone room.
A blood mist so visibly toxic that it filled the stone chamber.
“Ugh.”
Even the Siemens wizards who were accustomed to blood felt sick to their stomachs from the foul scent of blood.
Ramon walked forward with a stern expression.
As I entered through the arched entrance I saw someone in black robes examining Abel’s body lying on a stone platform.
Ramon opened his mouth and looked at him.
“pontiff.”
The robed man turned his head in response to Ramon’s words.
A black mask was revealed beneath the hood.
Ramon frowned at the sight.
“In this situation you are playing with dolls without revealing yourself?”
Kookookookook―
The entire stone chamber shook with Ramon’s energy.
The masked priest showed no reaction even to the strong vibration.
Soon Ramon calmed down and gathered his strength.
Then he glared at the priest and said:
“Let me get straight to the point. Can Abel be saved?”
Red eyes flashed behind the black mask.
A low voice came out of him.
“It is impossible to revive Abel Draker.”
