    Episode 326

Monk Bowl ran through the mountains with all his might carrying a bundle on his back.

    “Whew whew.”

My breath was pounding but I couldn’t stop.

The pursuers continued to fire arrows and chase after Bowl.

Roban who was hiding inside the lighthouse spoke to him.

“Priest please let me down. If I do something wrong even you will be killed…”

Bowl did not respond to Roban’s words and just ran faster.

But then an arrow flew and pierced Bowl’s thigh.

    puck!

    “Ugh!”

After being hit by an arrow he lost his balance for a moment and his speed slowed significantly but he tried to escape while dragging his legs and holding onto the light.

Soon black-clad men slowly emerged from the forest.

Bowles was in despair when he saw the attire of the men in black.

    ‘It’s the Imperial Army.’

He remembered hearing rumors about an unknown secret force of the Empire.

It was said that they were a secret unit called ‘Hounds’ that did all kinds of dirty work for the Emperor.

Bowl instinctively realized that these were hunting dogs sent by the Emperor to take away Roban.

A masked hunting dog approached the monk.

The monk stood holding onto the tree next to him his fists clenched against his chest holding the club in his hands.

    “Haaaah!”

With a yell the monk extended his fist at the approaching hound with all his might.

    Phew!

The monk’s fist filled with aura flew towards the hound.

The hound dodged the monk’s fist with ease.

    “You’re being a jerk.”

He took out the sword he had on his waist and stabbed the monk in the lower abdomen.

    Phew!

The bowl fell to the floor with a creepy sound.

He couldn’t close his eyes properly and his body trembled with the thought of having to protect Roban.

Soon the hounds stomped on his head.

    Kkwaduk!

Only after his head exploded did Bowle stop moving.

“That son of a bitch is making me weak.”

The leader of the hounds gestured to his men.

Following his gesture the unit members approached to collect the bundle inside the basket.

But then a huge flame burst out from inside the building.

    Whoosh whoosh!

The soldiers who had approached at that moment were surprised and stepped back.

    The captain shouted.

“He uses the power of the Sun Church! Be careful!”

Inside the burning hut Roban was glaring at the hunting dogs his whole body engulfed in flames and he was shedding tears.

He clenched his teeth as he looked at the dead bowl.

He came out of the burning ashes that were scattering in the valley knelt before the bowl and once again ignited the flames.

“The noble soul will burn like an eternal flame.”

Roban burned the body of Bowl who died while protecting himself with flames.

It was believed that this would lead his soul to the sun god and allow him to die in peace.

The hunting dogs approached the robin.

“He’s still young. I’ll knock him out and take him away.”

Roban stood up from his seat as he watched the hunting dogs targeting him.

Although still young Robben had the mark of the Sun as the successor to the Pope.

Moreover since the sacred magic of the Sun Cult was the most powerful fire magic the hunting dogs approached Roban slowly while remaining cautious.

    Kookookookook―

Four fireballs rose around Roban’s body and he blasted them at the hounds.

    Whoosh whoosh!

As the fireball flew towards them the hounds rolled over to avoid it.

    Kwakwakwang!

Roban still inexperienced was unable to properly control the fireball. It was powerful but it was useless if it didn’t hit the enemy properly.

    “Haa haa.”

Roban who had poured out all his strength at once was out of breath and covered in cold sweat.

After avoiding the attack the hunting dogs who had been waiting for a follow-up attack noticed that Roban had lost his strength and slowly stood up from their seats letting go of their guard while keeping their bodies low.

    “Catch him.”

At the captain’s command the hunting dog unit approached to catch Roban.

Roban tried to stop them by creating flames but since they were already exhausted the resulting flames were too weak to be effective.

The hounds were trained knights so it was impossible to stop them with a weakened flame.

Soon the powerful hands of the hunting dogs caught Roban.

    “profit!”

As Roban struggled to get away from them the leader of the hounds approached and slapped Roban in the face.

    Phew!

The young Roban’s cheeks were red and swollen and his mouth was bursting and bleeding.

Soon Roban lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

The captain looked at his men and said.

“If you bother me again I’ll cut off your limbs put you in a box and take you away.”

There was no compassion for the pitiless hunting dog unit.

One of the unit members was about to return carrying the robe.

    Wheeeeeeee―

A whistle was heard from somewhere.

In an instant the leader of the hunting dog unit took a state of alert and shouted.

“This is the enemy. Be on guard.”

    That was when.

    Whoosh!

A black figure suddenly flew down from the tree towards the leader of the hunting dogs.

    Crunch-

The shadow passed by as if it was brushing past and cut off the captain’s neck with a thin sword.

    Bam!

The deputy commander died without even realizing that his throat had been cut.

The black shadow quickly disappeared again.

“The captain has been hit! Find him!”

The unit members looked around to find the enemy.

Then the whistle was heard again.

    Wheeeeeeee―

With a whistle a black figure like the wind appeared again and in an instant he cut off the heads of the hunting dogs.

    Thud thud thud—

The unit was annihilated in an instant as the hunting dogs’ necks fell off all at once.

    Whoosh!

Only after confirming that all the hunting dogs were dead did the black figure reveal itself.

An unidentified figure wearing a black cloak and a bird beak mask worn by doctors during the Holy Empire approached the fallen Roban.

After confirming that Roban was still alive he disappeared into the forest with the child in his arms.

In the quiet forest only the corpses of dead hunting dogs were left scattered.

    * * *

    Doo doo doo doo!

Zeke and the Black Sword Knights who were staying at the Imperial Garrison in the Ghetto area were heading to Jason with Helen.

It was to board a ship from Jason the territory of Kali to the Holy Kingdom.

When an iron legion of orcs invaded the Holy Realm and threatened the Holy Nation of Vadoka Kali decided to send an army there and appointed Zeke as her agent.

Although it was known to the public that way in fact it was Zeke who asked Carly directly.

When he heard the news that the Emperor was leading an army and marching into the Holy Kingdom he thought it was a golden opportunity to attack him.

    “My lord! I see Jason!”

Decker the captain said to Zeke.

Although they had forced themselves to march to Jason as quickly as possible the members of the Black Sword Knights showed no signs of fatigue and remained steadfast.

This was evidence that the battle in the ghetto area had greatly contributed to the growth of the Black Sword Knights.

Although the order was still comprised of blue and purple knights their potential was so great that it was expected that they would soon break through their limitations and achieve growth.

‘I guess I’ll have to work harder with the knights.’

As Zeke and his knights arrived at Jason a familiar knight greeted them making a vow to themselves.

    “Sir Zeke. Welcome.”

It was Runo who had previously saved Zeke’s life on the island of the sea god.

    Zeke said looking at Runo.

“Lord Runo. It’s been a while.”

As he was a senior knight of the Drakers he treated Runo like an inferior.

After the incident on Haesin Island Kali weeded out traitors among her knights.

After the purge was over she gave Runo the position of vice-captain and left him in charge of running the Knights Templar.

He served as acting captain when Kali was absent.

“I see you’re out so I guess your sister is out.”

“That’s right Sir Zeke. The Commander has been summoned to an emergency meeting and has gone to Atlas.”

“It makes sense since the Emperor himself moved it.”

Then Runo approached Zeke and whispered quietly.

“Your Majesty the Black Stage is waiting to see you.”

Zeke wiggled his eyebrows at the mention of the dark stage.

He let the Black Sword Knights rest and followed Runo to the Black Stage.

As Jason entered the Knights’ quarters used by the Knights well-trained knights saluted Zeke. An attitude of respect radiated from them.

As the news of Zeke’s activities in the Ghetto region spread throughout the continent his fame became known even to the knights of the Silver Knights here.

It was Zeke who took over the front page of the newsletter under the nickname of ‘Knight of Salvation’ from ‘Knight of Haeju’.

Trying to avoid the knights’ envious gazes Zeke headed toward the reception room where the black stage was located.

As Zeke entered the room the person sitting stood up.

“Sir Zeke. Nice to meet you. I am Souma the commander of the Black Stage Right Wing.”

Zeke’s eyebrows twitched at the mention of the right wing deputy commander of the Black Stage.

‘If he is a right-wing unit leader he is someone who holds black stage intelligence in one hand.’

The Black Stage was a secret organization whose personal information itself was confidential.

In particular the faces of right-wing forces that deal with information are not even properly known.

Even Zeke was seeing the Chief of the Black Stage Intelligence Department for the first time.

He was a middle-aged man with brown hair and a sad face. At first glance he looked more like a magician than a spy.

Zik looked at Souma and greeted him.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Zeke Draker.”

After greeting each other the two sat down in the reception room.

As soon as he sat down Souma got straight to the point.

“I’m sure you’ve heard about the situation in the Holy Kingdom Sir Zeke.”

    Zeke nodded.

“Yes I heard that a mysterious monster force appeared and invaded the Sacred Kingdom and that Emperor Rom personally led the force to stop it.”

Souma nodded at those words and continued speaking.

“Yes to be more specific it has been revealed that the mysterious unit is made up of an ancient race of orcs.”

Zeke knew that fact but he looked surprised when he heard Souma’s words.

“Orc? Is it different from Orc?”

“You can think of them as an ancient race that existed during the time of the King of Heroes but they are rarely seen these days like elves or druids.”

Zig nodded to Souma’s words and said.

“Then why did those orcs suddenly appear and attack the Holy Kingdom?”

“We haven’t figured out the reason yet. We suspect that it may be due to an abnormal phenomenon like the monster outbreak in the Ghetto region where Sir Zeke was active.”

    “It’s a strange phenomenon…”

Zeke was still wondering why Souma the head of the Black Stage Intelligence Department had come all the way to Jason to look for him.

‘I don’t think you came here just to tell me this news.’

At that time Souma slowly opened his mouth.

“I heard that Lord Zeke is leading the army in place of Lord Kali and going to help the Holy Kingdom of Badoka.”

“Yes that’s right. The Holy Realm has an alliance with House Draker and it is also the place where Lord Kali was gifted a silver armor as a token of friendship. In return for that friendship Lord Kali has decided to send reinforcements.”

Souma was silent for a moment at Zeke’s words then slowly began to speak.

“A return for your friendship. What beautiful words.”

After he finished speaking slowly he took out a scroll from his bosom and activated it and a barrier appeared around him.

“Sir Zeke I have something to tell you very intimately.”

Zeke suddenly realized that something was up when he saw Souma’s actions of using magic to block the area.

Souma continued speaking with a serious face.

“What I am about to tell you is confidential even within the Dark Stage. Do you swear to keep it a secret?”

Zig nodded after hearing Souma’s words.

Then Souma opened his mouth again.

“We have recently located Bacchus the traitor to Draker in the Holy Kingdom.”

A completely unexpected name came out of Souma’s mouth.

‘Bacchus? I heard that he killed his biological mother Carmilla and ran away from Sister Kali’s territory.’

    Souma continued speaking.

“And it has been confirmed that the traitor Bacchus has kidnapped the current Pope’s successor and is holding him captive.”

Zeke listened to Souma’s words and made a face of incomprehension.

‘Kidnapping the Pope’s successor? While being chased by the Black Stage?’

Souma nodded as if he understood after seeing his expression and spoke to Zeke.

“It is believed that Bacchus was planning to make a deal with the Emperor regarding the successor to the Pope and then go into exile on those terms.”

At those words Zeke opened his mouth towards Souma.

“Why does the Emperor want the Pope’s successor?”

    Souma answered Zeke’s question.

“According to the intelligence we just received the Emperor is targeting the ruins of the first Holy King Geo Lubern.”
