A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 325

Episode 325
‘Linked skill category?’
Zigg took a look at the newly created skill categories.
A related message came to mind.
[Please specify a name for the newly combined linked skill.]
[You can execute it just by naming the skill.]
‘That’s the skill name.’
Zeke named the combination of lightning skills ‘Lightning Hell’.
[The linked skill ‘Electric Hell’ is created.]
[Skills applied to linked skills are not displayed in the active skill window.]
[If you click on the detailed view of the linked skill you can see the details of the combined skills.]
Zig pressed the newly created Lightning Hell skill.
Lightning Hell: Water Bomb [Class C (Beginner)] + Confusion [Class C (Beginner)] + Friction Reduction [Class C (Beginner)] + Lightning [Class A (Beginner)]
You can see which skills the Lightning Hell skill is combined with through the status window.
‘The higher the proficiency of the combined skills the stronger the power of the linked skills.’
After checking the contents I became curious about the power of the linked skill.
He went out to the training ground and activated the Lightning Hell skill himself.
“Lightning hell.”
Phage phage phage!
Similar to the dragon magic that Zeros showed in Nirvana four magic spells were unleashed in an instant creating a skill with a wider range and greater power than a normal lightning skill.
Zeke wanted to compare the power of his previous lightning magic with the power of the skill he designed.
He called Felix Liam Aster and Diego.
“Master why did you suddenly call me?”
Zeke lined up Felix and his group in front of him.
“Did you hear that I received the Fairy King’s blessing?”
“Yes I know.”

A knight of the sea who received the blessing of the Fairy King.
Zeke’s reputation as a savior who saved the western region from monster attacks was growing.
Rumors began to spread among the Join tribe that he was a savior who rode a flying horse in the sky wielded a divine sword and defeated evil monsters.
After this information was published in the newsletter Zig thought about it for a while and then announced to the public that he had received the Fairy King’s blessing and had awakened new powers as he had told the Zouin tribe and had also received weapons and armor as gifts.
According to his words the Central Continent made a big deal about Zeke calling him the reincarnation of the Holy King Geo Lubern who had received the blessing of the Fairy King.
Before anyone knew it Zigg had changed his name from the Knight of the Sea to the Knight of Salvation.
Thanks to that Zeke was making excuses that all the powers he had gained from the system were awakened by the Fairy King’s blessing.
And those who heard that story assumed that the various abilities that Zeke had shown were all thanks to the Fairy King’s blessing.
This created an opportunity to naturally reveal Zig’s power to the outside world.
“A new power has awakened again. Let’s give it a try.”
Felix and Diego’s eyes lit up at the mention of awakening a new ability.
“My lord what ability have you awakened?”
“I’ll show you. Stand up straight.”
Zeke lined up the knights he had summoned in the training grounds.
“You can use Aura. Just try to block it as best as you can.”
At Zeke’s words the knights drew their swords and arose.
Zeke just blasted them with lightning at first.
Phage crackle!
An electric current like a normal brain magic poured into the knights.
Although it was a strong force it was not so strong that knights using Aura could not dodge or block it.
After confirming that the knights could easily block lightning skills Zeke prepared a lightning hell skill this time.
“Try to block it well this time too.”
The knights had confident expressions on their faces at Zeke’s words.
He saw that laughed inwardly raised his hand and unleashed a lightning hell.
In an instant the water bomb spread and the knights’ minds became dazed. Then the floor became slippery and they lost their balance. Then an electric shock immediately enveloped their bodies.
“Kkaaaak!”
All the knights fell and foamed at the mouth before they could even defend themselves with their auras.
Only Liam who had good reflexes did not completely collapse.
Zeke nodded seeing the difference between lightning and lightning hell.
‘I see why the magic of the dragon tongue was so strong.’
Most magic doesn’t work on knights who use Aura.
However if it was a link magic it would be enough to work even on a blue knight.
The barbarians who had been loitering nearby watched this and approached with interested expressions.
“Brother Zeke you look fun.”
“We want to try it too.”
Barbarians with their high resistance to magic were good test subjects.
Zeke nodded and this time he lined up the barbarians and used his lightning skill on them.

As expected the Barbarians’ strong bodies were not greatly affected by lightning skills.
This time Zeke tried activating the Lightning Hell by applying a wide-range buff.
In an instant a lightning hell was unleashed not only on the barbarians but also on Felix and his group who were resting next to them.
“Kkaaaak!”
The barbarians and Felix’s party lay on the ground squirming steaming from their bodies.
Barbarians with high magic resistance took less damage but it was definitely more effective than just using lightning.
‘This is awesome.’
Just by combining C-class skills with A-class lightning you can achieve effects comparable to dragon magic.
In the future a technique was developed that would allow for effective attacks while reducing mana consumption when dealing with knights.
Following Lightning Hell Zeke purchased several more skills and created several linked skills.
There were four linked skills in total each of which was lightning hell flame hell glacier hell and sand hell.
Flame Hell was an area-of-effect attack skill similar to Lightning Hell.
Glacier Hell was a skill that lowered the temperature to a certain range and slowed the knights’ movements while Sand Hell was a skill that obscured their vision.
All of these were linked skills created with the expectation of dealing with knights.
When dealing with wizards the magic blocking technique that I learned and developed from Luther was sufficient.
‘Let’s see. I bought the skills and have 2211 points left.’
Zik decided to leave the points alone for now.
I needed to save up points because I might need to craft some new potions or equipment and I was planning on unlocking level 5 of the Dragonborn skill as soon as the Heart of Bahamut was fully powered up.
Helen came to see Zeke who was staying in the fortress and training his skills.
Helen arranged a meeting with Carly in the self-proclaimed neutral nation of Alencia to discuss the Western Alliance with Big Joe the Song of the Crouching Flame.
The meeting ended successfully and the ghetto area was declared a Western Alliance territory for the freedom struggle of the Suin people under the assurance of Kali Draker.
Even though she had successfully completed the difficult process her expression upon entering the fortress was quite dark.
“Sister? Why are you doing this?”
Helen said looking at Zeke.
“Let’s go in and talk.”
The two entered the fortress.
Helen looked at Zeke and said before he even sat down.
“The Empire has launched an expedition to the Holy Kingdom.”
Zig was surprised by those words and asked.
“What do you mean? Are you saying that the Empire started the war?”
Then Helen shook her head and took the record book out of her bosom.
“It was delivered yesterday.”
When she ran the log she was surprised to see that the castle guarded by the Paladins of the Holy Kingdom had been taken over by a mysterious army.
Zeke was shocked when he saw the video.
‘Those are… orcs.’
The Orcish Iron Legion was advancing on the capital attacking the Holy Kingdom.
Zeke said looking at Helen.
“Are you saying the Empire sent troops to stop them?”
“Sending troops is not the problem.”
Helen said with a serious expression.
“The emperor personally led the army and went out to fight in the temple.”
* * *
“Ahhhhhhhh…..”
Wounded monks and priests wept as they looked upon the burning castle in the forest.
The Temple of Parmesis renowned across the continent for its beauty since the days of the Holy Empire was burning.
The Temple of Parmesis was the most beautiful and largest temple dedicated to the sun god and was one of the precious cultural heritages of the sacred royal palace.
Now that beautiful cultural heritage was being trampled by a barbaric army wearing thick armor and wielding giant axes.
All the citizens of the city were killed or captured and turned into slaves and the buildings were burned down.
The Paladins and priests who fought against the Steel Army were eventually forced to abandon their order and flee.
It was obvious that if I stayed any longer I would become their sacrificial lamb.
Then the boy inside the basket the monk was carrying opened the lid and came out looking at the burning temple of Parmesis.
“The city temple…..”
The boy shed tears when he saw the burning temple.
Then the priests behind him quickly came and grabbed the boy’s shoulders and tried to throw him back into the basket.
“It is dangerous to show your face Lord Roban. You must hide quickly. Do not come out until you reach Badoka.”
Since the portal was unusable it took about a week to get to the Holy Land of Baadoca where the Vatican was located. The problem was that the savage barbarian legions were currently spread out everywhere.
The expressions of the priests and monks who had to safely take the boy to the Badoka Castle could not help but be dark.
The reason they wanted to take this boy to the Holy Land of Baadoca was because he was the Pope’s successor.
To become the Pope of the Holy Kingdom which follows the sun god one had to display the sign of the sun on one’s body.
The one who possessed the token that had not been found for decades was a young priest boy named Roban.
The monk carrying the basket containing the robe and the priests escorting him left the burning temple behind and entered the deserted mountain path.
The plan was to go beyond here avoid the legion get a horse and go to Badoka.
Buck! Buck! Buck!
But at some point the sound of the Steel Legion approaching was heard.
When the priests heard the sound they trembled in fear and said to the monk:
“We will attract their attention. Please brother successfully escape and lead Roban to the Holy Land.”
The monk nodded gritting his teeth at the old priest’s words.
The priests held the Bible and shouted.
“O flame that burns my body! This is not a calamity that burns me but a glory that will lead me to eternal life!”
As soon as the shouting ended flames simultaneously burst out from the priests’ bodies.
The priests fired flame grenades at the approaching steel troops.
Kwakwakwang!
The steel troops erected shields to block the flame bullets fired by the priests.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
They advanced slowly blocking the priests’ fireballs with their sturdy shields.
Then one of the warriors behind him threw a huge axe.
Phew!
The sharp axe blade was embedded in the body of the blazing priest.
“Cough!”
Starting with that dozens of axes flew towards the priests.
Pubberbug!
The priests were annihilated by the axes thrown by the Steel Troops.
Krrrrrr—
After all the priests were defeated the commander of the steel troops took off his helmet.
The orc’s face hidden inside the helmet was revealed.
He spoke to his subordinates as he pulled out the axe that was deeply embedded in the priest’s body.
“I can’t tell because all humans look similar. Hey look here and see if there’s a young human they were talking about.”
Then another orc standing next to him tilted his head and said.
“Hey it doesn’t seem like there’s anything here. That’s an old human. Not a young human.”
The captain put his helmet back on.
“Those fucking kids. What the hell are you talking about coming for some little human? Hey look again. There must be some of those guys who went this way.”
The orcs took up their axes again and began to pursue.
The monk who had been watching this from a tree hiding with his torch on his head tried to calm his trembling body.
‘Monsters? No. Monsters don’t act like that. What on earth are they? Has God really abandoned us?’
The monk clenched his teeth and steeled himself again.
Although the situation was desperate the monk’s faith which he had maintained for decades was strong.
After making up his mind the monk’s movements as he quickly moved between the trees while holding onto the pole were unusual.
Fortunately the monk was able to escape into the forest and out of sight of the orcs.
‘If we climb the mountain all night we might be able to reach the road in two days.’
The problem was the robe inside the lighthouse.
Having trained his body he could last for two days without sleeping or eating but Roban who was still young could not do that.
‘First of all I have to somehow get some drinking water.’
The monk ran quickly towards the place where the smell of water was coming from.
Soon he found a stream placed his goblet on a nearby rock and went down to drink some water.
‘This is clean water. I can just float on it.’
He was taking a leather water jug out of his waistband and filling it with water.
Shhh!
An arrow flew from the other side and blew away the water jug the monk was holding.
‘They are the pursuers.’
The monk quickly flew up and ran into the forest with the lantern.
The men in black followed him without a sound.
