A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 302
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 302
The day after the award ceremony urgent news from Carly arrived in front of Zeke.
Zig’s expression hardened as he checked the letter.
‘A mysterious monster army appeared at the western conference site where Sister Helen and Big Joe of Crouching Flame Song Crosstel gathered and they were isolated?’
Zeke thought back to the brainwashed ogres he had found in the Ogre Mountains.
The Empire’s plan to release monsters into the ghetto area to create a pretext for war had already been put into action.
Moreover the situation was critical if the meeting place that was supposed to be the starting point for the creation of the Western Alliance was isolated and under attack.
‘If the Crouching Flame Song and Big Joe are attacked and killed here the Western Alliance will not be formed and internal strife may occur among the Suin tribe.’
Crosstel a gangster organization comprised of people from the western region in particular was a place where a big shot named Big Joe persuaded other gangs to form a union system.
If Big Joe were to die these organizations could once again feud and go to war.
If the accident had been caused by a monster attack rather than an imperial army it would have been impossible to give it a just cause.
Even if the talks ended well if Kali’s army moved the imperial forces stationed in the ghetto area would inevitably cause conflict under the pretext of being peacekeepers.
‘Still I can get permission from Alencia and go inside under the pretext of subduing monsters.’
After much thought Zeke decided to go to the ghetto area himself and rescue them.
Zeke said to Decker the captain.
“Will it be possible for the Black Sword Knights to deploy?”
Decker nodded and answered.
“There is no problem in setting out right away but if we take into account supplies we will need time to prepare.”
At those words Zeke shook his head.
“There’s no problem just tell Princess Melissa and she’ll send you supplies through the Alencia route.”
“Okay. Then I will prepare to go out right away.”
The Black Sword Knights’ first official mission was to eliminate monsters in the ghetto area.
Captain Decker and Vice Captain Farrell Kloner took the lead and quickly prepared.
More than two hundred knights including the shield unit of the 8th Knights of Delpoa the old Knights of the Rose the archers led by Claire and the magicians gathered at the central training ground of Agamemnon Castle.
“Black Sword Knights! Let’s go!”
Zeke in his capacity as monarch led the knights into the ghettos of the western region.

Two Imperial Intelligence agents poked their heads out from between the rocks in the wasteland and scanned the area ahead.
One of the agents clicked his tongue as he saw a horde of monsters in the distance.
“Wow this is the first time I’ve seen so many ogres gathered in a place like this. What on earth are those guys from Room 13 doing?”
Ogres were high-danger monsters that usually lived in deep forests.
But suddenly high-danger monsters such as ogres minotaurs and cyclops began to appear all over the wasteland.
The guys ransacked the ghetto area and blocked all the ways in.
Agents took turns here every day checking for any abnormalities in the monsters and reporting to their superiors.
Another agent leaning back against the rock said:
“Don’t talk nonsense. Don’t you know that the atmosphere there is not good these days since the director changed?”
It was at that moment that the other agent shrugged his shoulders at those words.
“Huh huh?”
Suddenly I saw a strong cloud of dust rising in the distance.
The agent cried out in surprise.
“Senior Seo. Are there any guys I’ve never seen before coming in?”
“what?”
Knights on horseback were charging towards the monsters their weapons drawn kicking up dust.
The knight at the very front raised his black sword and cut off the ogre’s head with a single stroke of his Auror Blade.
Imperial agents identified the banner of the Knights Templar.
A badge featuring a black sword on a red flag.
The expressions of the imperial agents hardened.
‘It’s the Draker’s badge.’
The ability to use black and red together on a flag was a privilege reserved only for the Drakers.
But it was the first time I had seen a badge with only a black sword drawn on it.
Even amidst the confusion the knights in black armor ran forward kicking up dust and skillfully cutting down the monsters.
High-risk monsters were left helpless and helpless.
That was when.
“The Empire’s underlings were hiding.”
Boris appeared behind the hiding agents.
‘When did that happen…?’
The agents tried to escape by creating an opening but it was no use.
Bisco appeared with the murderers of Salmak.
Bisko said as he looked at Boris.
“Captain what should we do with these guys?”
Then Boris gestured and said:
“Tie him up so he can’t run away. I’ll take him to my lord.”
The Black Sword Knights returned to the Alencia border guard after wiping out all the monsters in the area.

The Black Sword Knights had set up a base inside the headquarters and Boris led the Security Service agents to the central barracks where Zeke was.
thud!
The arrested agents looked up at the man sitting in the center of the barracks kneeling.
A young knight wearing Draker’s uniform and black gloves symbolizing a pureblood Awakened.
The agents’ faces turned pale.
“Ji Jik Draker.”
Then Clone who was standing next to him approached him and kicked the agent who had made the noise without realizing it.
There was a thud and the agent rolled to the side.
“This kid. Is our master your friend? Where did you get the name from?”
Sieg Draker a senior knight of the Draker family and the successor to the House of Agamemnon lords of the northern part of the Duchy of Troy and the Duke of Cuzco was not an ordinary knight but someone with the qualifications of a monarch.
The agent who was kicked by Clone gasped for breath as his ribs were shattered in one blow.
Zeke sat slanted looking down at the agents.
“What is the information agency doing in the ghetto area?”
The agents felt an instinctive fear of Zeke because of the dragon’s naturally flowing intimidating and charismatic nature.
‘It’s so different from what I heard through rumors….’
The Empire treated Zeke as nothing more than a fancy young knight who had been lucky enough to become a pureblood Awakener and had grown up with the support of his family.
It was assessed that the influence of Kali who supported him was greater than Zeke Draker’s own power.
But in reality seeing Zeke Draker in person made all those assessments seem ridiculous.
He was the ruler himself looking down on everything.
Besides the other knights standing around Zeke were no pushovers either.
It seemed as if the sword that had cut down high-risk monsters would cut off their own throats at any moment.
One of the intelligence agents looked at Zeke and said.
“We are part of the Imperial Army. Draker and the Empire have a non-aggression pact…”
Phew!
Then Clone picked up his mace and began swinging it powerfully.
Hoong! Hoong!
The air ripped as the heavy mace cut through the wind.
The agents’ faces turned pale as they looked at such a clone.
Zeke looked at them with his chin resting on his hand and said.
“You shamelessly entered the ghetto area which is a demilitarized zone and now you’re talking about a non-aggression pact.”
The imperial agent was taken aback by those words.
“Oh no. That’s it…”
Clone stepped forward and raised his mace.
“You little punk! Speak straight!”
Phew!
The mace passed right past the agent’s face.
Jiiiiiing―
The agent shivered in fear as the shockwave tore through the air his eardrums feeling as if they had been ruptured and his ears were ringing.
As soon as Zeke gestured Clone stepped back.
He said to Boris.
“Take him and find out thoroughly why he came here. If he doesn’t tell I’ll give Clone a chance to break his head.”
At those words Clone touched his mace and let out a cruel laugh.
“You little punks hang in there. Let me test how strong your brains are.”
At Clone’s words the agents trembled in fear and were dragged out by Boris’ hand.
As they left Decker who had been standing behind them approached Zeke and spoke.
“My lord if those monsters were really released by the Imperial Army I don’t think they’ll stay still.”
Zeke nodded in response to those words.
“I guess so. But they can’t move openly. If it’s revealed that they released monsters and attacked the ghetto area they won’t be able to avoid international condemnation.”
Farrell who was standing next to him added a word.
“But the Lord’s Empire is a persistent and unpredictable bunch. If the monsters are moving within the Empire… there is a possibility that they will launch an all-out attack on our side.”
Zeke chuckled at those words.
“I hope so. It would make things easier.”

Zeke crossed the border of Alencia with the Black Sword Knights and entered the ghetto area.
The ghetto area consisting of wastelands and endless valleys was home to dozens of autonomous regions of the Zun people large and small.
Although it was a barren land the Join people protected the land where their ancestors lived for hundreds of years.
The place where Helen was was an old fortress one of the remains of an ancient site inside the ghetto area.
Before heading straight there Zig decided to enter one of the Zionist autonomous regions and assess the ghetto situation.
The Black Sword Knights while slaying the monsters that rushed towards them ran at full speed to their target the autonomous region of the Join tribe.
The autonomous district we arrived at was quieter than we expected.
There was a wall surrounding the area and underneath it was a double layer of barbed wire.
There were outposts and watchtowers installed everywhere so it seemed difficult for monsters to approach.
As if to prove this the corpses of dead monsters were strewn about in the moat created in front of the barbed wire covered in dirt.
Zeke sent his honorable knight Farel to write to the Joiners asking them to allow them to enter the autonomous region.
Knowing the human-hating nature of the Zoid tribe Zeke predicted that even if they came to subdue monsters the autonomous region would not easily open its gates.
Even in the previous life the Western Alliance made up of the Mercenaries refused to form an alliance with the human army.
Even the multi-ethnic alliance of the northern continent refused to participate because humans were the main players.
There is only one human they officially recognize.
It was Helen Draker who resisted until the end in the Duchy of Troy.
At that time Helen was a Draker rebel who resisted the Empire and Abel until the very end and eventually died a heroic death on the battlefield.
The Crouching Flame’s Song which led the Western Alliance took the unusual step of paying tribute to Helen Drake’s death.
However Farrell who had gone to the autonomous district brought back an answer different from what Zig had expected.
“The situation inside the autonomous region of the lords is not very good.”
“What does that mean?”
Farrell whispered quietly in Zeke’s ear.
Zeke’s expression hardened after hearing his words.
‘There’s an epidemic going on inside?’
Farrell spoke cautiously to Zeke.
“The chieftain says he wants to see his lord first.”
Although it was unknown what kind of epidemic it was it was reckless to bring the Knights inside in this situation.
Zeke thought about it for a while and then gave an order.
“First let’s make a base here and assess the situation.”
Although things didn’t go as planned securing this autonomous region was important in stopping the monsters that had spread throughout the ghetto area and bringing back Helen and Crouching Flame Song’s Big Joe.
Since this was the closest autonomous region to the old castle where they were isolated Zeke wanted to use this as a base to secure a route to the old castle and bring the isolated people safely.
If the Crouching Flame Song or Big Joe were to die in the middle of an attack it would become impossible to form the Western Alliance so it was necessary to move as conservatively and cautiously as possible.
‘I guess I’ll have to go in and check out the situation.’
If it was Zeke he would not be affected by any infectious disease.
He went into the autonomous region alone to hear the chief’s story.
As he stood in front of the entrance the thick double iron doors opened. Zeke slowly stepped inside.
And when Zik entered the autonomous district he was shocked by the sight before his eyes.
