    Episode 293

Zeke’s eyes changed when the name Arthur Draker was mentioned.

“It’s Arthur Draker’s request. Tell me exactly what it is.”

Bane flinched at Zeke’s intense gaze and explained the situation.

“He asked me secretly to melt a block of ice with a coffin inside.”

It seems that he brought it to him who was an expert in ice magic because ice frozen by magic usually does not thaw.

“It’s ice with a coffin in it. Is it to preserve the body?”

“I thought so at first. Normally I wouldn’t have accepted such a suspicious request but at the time I was busy making elixirs and needed money to buy ingredients so I accepted the request anyway. However when I analyzed the ice that was wrapped around the coffin after accepting the request it wasn’t normal magic.”

“What do you mean it’s not normal magic?”

“It’s hard to explain in words… but it was ice of a quality that couldn’t be created with normal magical power. It was something that couldn’t be thawed.”

“Do you think Arthur Draker poisoned you because you failed that quest?”

    Bane shook his head.

“No the problem came after that.”

    Bane continued speaking slowly.

“Suddenly Ramon Siemens the head of Siemens came to see me.”

Zeke frowned at the mention of Ramon Siemens.

“Why did the head of the Siemens family suddenly come to see me?”

“Ramon Siemens revealed to me that the person who had commissioned it was Arthur Drake and asked me about the coffin.”

    “Ramon Siemens himself?”

“Yes. He came alone without any attendants and asked questions and when I told him that he couldn’t thaw the ice he nodded and left.”

    “Is that all?”

    “Yes that’s all.”

“Where in the story did you just read give any evidence that Arthur Draker poisoned you?”

Bane said his skeletal body trembling.

“I found out that the person who made that request was Arthur Draker! There must have been a reason he made the request in secret and now that I know he must have poisoned me to keep my mouth shut.”

Zeke clicked his tongue at Bane’s words.

Although I detest Arthur Draker I don’t think he’s the kind of person who would poison someone for something like that.

‘If they were going to kill him in the first place they would have used another method instead of poisoning him.’

In any case poisoning and leaving the body behind was not Arthur Draker’s way.

Zeke became curious about the identity of the coffin trapped in ice that Bane had mentioned.

‘What on earth was it that interested Arthur Drake and Ramon Siemens at the same time?’

While Zeke was thinking Bane spoke trembling.

“Arthur Draker. I will seek vengeance on you and your blood relatives…”

Then Zeke shook his head and said to Bane.

“Perhaps it was Ramon Siemens not Arthur Draker who poisoned you Bane.”

Bane asked bewildered by Zeke’s words.

“Why is Ramon Siemens poisoning me?”

“Poisoning is not Arthur Draker’s style. Perhaps Ramon Siemens was convinced that he could simply kill you after seeing that you failed to thaw the coffin.”

“Did you kill him because you couldn’t thaw him?”

“No on the contrary. He killed it to nip it in the bud just in case it would thaw someday. Ramon’s goal must have been to prevent the coffin from thawing.”

Bane’s mouth opened wide at Zeke’s words.

After decades of being a ghost and harboring a grudge against Arthur Draker he came to his senses only to find out that it was someone else who poisoned him.

    “That’s ridiculous. There’s no way that’s possible…”

“You can trust me. No one knows Draker’s physiology better than I do.”

    “Huh? What is that….”

Zeke said as he looked at Bane.

“Yes my name is Zeke Draker. I am a direct descendant of the Draker family and a pureblood Awakened.”

    “My lord Draker…?”

At Zeke’s words Bane’s face reduced to nothing but bones turned pale.

Bane who had been studying this dungeon for a long time had no idea that the Snow Queen a Nephilim and reincarnation of the constellation was sealed here.

I just set up a laboratory here because just practicing in a place where the cold air keeps rising has the effect of increasing my magic power.

Now that the Snow Queen is gone its meaning as a dungeon has disappeared and only its value as an ancient ruin remains.

Zeke first gathered everything he needed from the lab then unsummoned Bane and Richmond and went outside.

When he climbed back up through the well he had first entered surprisingly Michelle and Zeros were waiting for Zeke in front of him.

    “Sir Zeke!”

Zeros ran towards Zeke who had climbed up the well.

    “Are you finished exploring?”

“Yes I looked all around inside but there were only monsters and nothing special.”

Zeros glared at Michelle who was behind him as if he had known this would happen.

Then as if he had decided something Zeros spoke to Zeke.

“Sir Zeke I have a favor to ask you.”

    “Please speak comfortably.”

“I want to follow Sir Zeke.”

Zeke was momentarily taken aback by Zeros’ sudden remark.

The value of Zeros a 6th Circle Double Master with the titles of Warlock and Sorcerer was beyond imagination.

    Zeros said looking at Zeke.

“I learned a lot from this dungeon exploration. It’s the first time in my life that I’ve felt this helpless. I really felt that it’s wrong to just sit at my desk and do research. Please allow me to follow Sir Zeke and learn about the world.”

Zeke pretended to be troubled by Zeros’ words then answered slowly.

“If Lord Zeros follows me it means he will join my order of knights. I don’t think Nirvana would be happy with a wizard from Nirvana joining the Draker order.”

    Zeros said with a smile.

“In Nirvana we don’t really care about that. Rather once you reach a certain level we encourage you to go out and gain experience. Nirvana magicians tend to focus too much on the research they want to do.”

Zeke nodded in agreement with Zeros’ words.

“Then I guess there won’t be any problem if I change affiliations.”

“There are no real restrictions as long as you can only attend the family head election ceremony held once every five years.”

“Very well. If you join the Black Sword Knights I promise you the best treatment.”

Zig immediately took out the contract he had prepared in advance from his inventory.

“Please check the contents and sign here.”

Zeros who was the first to speak was surprised by Zeke’s quick and active progress.

“As expected Sir Zeke is thorough in this regard as well.”

“It’s to not lose valuable talent.”

Zeke smiled with satisfaction as Zeros nodded and signed the contract.

‘A genius magician with potential to become a 7th Circle Master Reach. I have gained a lot from this trip to Aten.’

Zeke looked at Zeros and held out his hand.

“I ask for your continued support Zeros.”

“Please take good care of me Master!”

After completing the recruitment of Zeros Zeke turned his head and approached Michelle who was sleeping with her head down and snoring.

Only after Zeke kicked her with his foot did Michelle wipe the drool from the corner of her mouth and get up.

    “Hmm? Huh? It’s already out…..”

    Zeke said looking at Michelle.

“It’s time for Michelle to go back to town.”

After Zeke took care of things for Zeros he ordered him to go to Castle Agamemnon where the Black Sword Knights were staying and he and Michelle decided to move to the northern continent where the druids’ village was.

After Zeros moved to the central branch Zeke took out Bucephalus in front of Michelle.

    Heeeeeeling!

Bucephalus rubbed his face against Zeke’s chest and let out a pleasant cry.

Michelle was surprised to see such a Bucephalus.

“Oh my god. Is this the Dragon Demon King…?”

It was Michelle who immediately recognized Bucephalus’ true identity.

“You seem to know a lot about Youngsoo.”

Michelle who usually only had a dazed look in her eyes looked at Bucephalus cautiously with sparkling eyes.

“What wonderful horned hooves and the color of these scales! What a wonderful spirit!”

“I know that too. There’s a village in some direction north of Michelle.”

“We must go towards the Ogre Mountains.”

“Okay. It might shake a little but bear with it.”

A chain shot out from Zeke’s arm and wrapped around Michelle’s body.

    “Huh? What is this….”

Before Michelle could finish speaking Zeke leaped into the air driving Bucephalus.

    “Kkaaaak!”

Michelle bound in chains dangles from Bucephalus as he leaps through the air.

Zeke flew through the air towards the northern continent with Michelle hanging on his back.

    * * *

One of the many mountain ranges extending from the Giant Mountains known as the roof of the northern continent the Ogre Mountains were one of the rugged mountain ranges that separated the Himonas which led to the Ice Mountains and the Gorkha which was a highland region.

The reason this mountain range was named the Ogre Mountains was quite literal.

This is because there were many ogres which were particularly dangerous monsters living here.

    Boom! Boom! Boom!

As the name suggests in one part of the Ogre Mountains a group of three ogres were wandering the mountains in search of food.

Usually ogres were monsters that acted alone.

However the ogres of the Ogre Mountains lived in villages just like orcs.

Because the terrain was so rugged and the other monsters in the mountains were also formidable the ogres also developed the habit of forming villages.

Perhaps for this reason the ogres of the Ogre Mountains were relatively smaller than those in other places.

However they were much smarter and more sensitive than regular ogres making them difficult to deal with.

Unlike other ogres who rush forward relying only on their own strength the ogres of the Ogre Mountains knew how to use weapons and also knew how to attack together.

Three ogres came out of the village to hunt spotted their prey crouched down in an uncharacteristic manner for ogres and spread out ready to pounce on them.

    Krrrrrr.

The guys suppressed their instincts as ogres and waited for their prey to come into position.

As their prey approached the encirclement point the ogres finally rose to their feet and roared.

    Kwaaaaah!

Three ogres charged but their prey stood motionless.

The ogres were so shocked that they thought the prey was frozen so they laughed in satisfaction and pounced on it.

But then something flashed before their eyes.

    Crunch-

Zeke’s sword instantly cut off the ogre’s neck as he charged towards him.

    thud!

Zeke looked down at the fallen ogres with curious eyes.

“Ogres wear modified human armor and even carry weapons. I’ve heard rumors about them but it’s still amazing to see them in person.”

Even when I was on a Highlander mission in my previous life I had no connection to the Ogre Mountains so this was my first time seeing the ogres here.

It was enough to completely shatter Zeke’s prejudice against ogres.

Michelle who was shivering next to him looked at Zeke in admiration.

“Whoa. That’s amazing! You killed those ogres in one go.”

“Do these guys attack the Druids too?”

“Once you step outside the village they will attack you without any consideration.”

“Ogres aren’t the type to act in groups like this. It’s really amazing.”

“I heard that this is what happened after the Ogre King appeared.”

    “The Ogre King?”

He was a guy I had never heard of in my previous life.

Thinking that he would find out later Zeke absorbed the dead ogres and headed with Michelle to the entrance of the druid village inside the mountains.

Because the village was hidden within the ogre habitat it was not easily found by outsiders.

After walking for a while we finally came into view of the stone tower that marked the entrance to the village.

    “Phew hew. This way.”

Dozens of stone towers made of piled stones were visible lined up high.

Unlike the Barbarian village the stone tower alone seemed to have no defensive function but strangely enough the ogres did not approach this way.

As Zeke slowly approached the stone tower a message window suddenly popped up.
