    Episode 292

    “Oh you mean undead?”

“Yeah. I thought that if I became an undead wizard I would be able to use ice attribute magic.”

Richmond hesitated at Zeke’s words then nodded.

“It seems possible. However since you would be a regular undead wizard and not a lich you wouldn’t be able to use high-level magic. It would probably be black magic with similar effects not elemental magic.”

“It will probably have ice properties anyway.”

“Yes but it is less effective than pure elemental magic. I can’t use that staff either.”

“Hmm I see. If I use magic how many circles can I go?”

“It would probably be possible to do 3 to 4 circles.”

“It’s not enough but it’s better than nothing. Ice attribute magicians are rare.”

Richmond nodded and reached out to the mummy.

    Woohoo!

Soon a black aura flowed out from Richmond’s body.

It was when he tried to raise the body of a dead wizard as an undead.

For a moment Richmond stepped back in surprise.

    “What’s going on Richmond?”

Richmond said to Zeke with a look of absurdity.

“That wizard’s ghost would rather be turned into a lich than an undead?”

    “What? Richie?”

Zeke also looked dumbfounded at Richmond’s words.

    “Isn’t this wizard dead?”

“It’s true that he died but it seems that his vengeful spirit continued to linger in this body because he felt resentful of his meaningless death.”

“Is it because you still have regrets about dying from illness while facing the 8th Circle Master…?”

    “What should I do master?”

“Well if you want it why don’t you make it rich?”

“That’s true but that requires some preparation.”

“It doesn’t matter. If you need any materials just tell me. I’ll get them out for you.”

Richmond first looked through the materials in the wizard’s laboratory and then told Zeke about only the materials he needed more of.

Zig took out the items in his inventory and bought or crafted the ones he didn’t have at the store.

It cost about 500 karma points but it was worth it as it resulted in the creation of a high-level Lich summon.

Richmond who was almost done preparing and about to turn the wizard’s body into a lich suddenly scratched his cheek and spoke to Zeke.

“Master this ghost is saying some absurd things.”

    “What are you saying?”

“When you make yourself a lich drop a drop of elixir into the fairy stone and replace it with the life vessel.”

    Zeke tilted his head.

“Is that how you usually make Richie?”

“This is the first time I’ve heard of it.”

“Hmm Richmond it feels similar to when you replaced the Life Vessel with a Bloodstone.”

“The spirit says that if you do that you will be able to use the elemental magic you used in life not just black magic even with your lich body.”

“Huh? Then I guess I can use that cane too.”

“Yes. If that happens it’s said that you can use even 6th or 7th circle magic but we’ll have to try it to see if that really works.”

“Hmm a fairy stone and a drop of elixir.”

Elixir was such a precious reagent that I felt it was a bit of a waste but I thought it would be okay to use one drop if I could get a 7th circle summon.

Zig took the fairy stone and elixir reagents out of his inventory and handed them over to Richmond.

“Be careful not to spill it.”

Richmond took the fairy stone and elixir reagents from Zeke and carefully went to the laboratory and started to make a life vessel with the fairy stone as the ghost had told him.

After about an hour the lab bench began to glow.

    “Ohhh?”

The fairy stones that Richmond had assembled emitted a rainbow of colors.

Zig also looked at the fairy stone whose color had changed strangely.

“The black fairy stone changed like this. Is it the effect of the elixir…?”

“The ghost said that it was an application of the method of making the Philosopher’s Stone.”

“The Philosopher’s Stone? Do you know how to make one?”

“I didn’t know everything but I happened to learn part of the manufacturing method and applied it.”

“You know a lot about things.”

Richmond watched the experiment table for a while and after a while he took the five-colored fairy stone he had created to the dead wizard’s mummy and placed it on top of his heart.

Then he drew a magic circle on the floor around the mummy using another reagent he had prepared.

After about two hours the magic circle was completed and Richmond stepped back after drawing the entire magic circle.

    “Okay then let’s begin.”

Richmond began the ritual by reciting the spell.

    Kookookookookook!

Light rose from the magic circle and began to react with the five-colored fairy stones placed on Mira’s heart.

Zeke who was watching from behind felt his mana draining from his mid-fight.

‘Is it because Richmond and I are connected?’

The light of the magic circle was sucked into Mira’s body.

    Grrrrrrrr!

A vengeful spirit was heard crying out from Mira.

Soon the light completely seeped in and the mummy rose into the air.

    Kookookookookook!

The fairy stone dug into his forehead and glowed and blue gems appeared from his sunken eyes.

    Tsk tsk tsk tsk―

A black aura enveloped Mira and he gradually transformed into the form of a lich.

Perhaps because the Life Vessel was made with elixir and fairy stones its appearance and aura were different from those of a regular Lich.

A mysterious aura was engraved on the surface of the bone and instead of a dark aura a cold aura flowed out causing frost to settle around it.

[You have successfully created an Elemental Lich with the Ice attribute.]

‘Elemental Lich? Is it different from a regular Lich because it can use elemental magic?’

Before I knew it the ceremony was over and Richie was settled on the ground.

A light flashed in Richie’s jewel eyes.

Richmond looked proud as he looked at the new Richie that had been created by his own hands.

Then the Elemental Lich approached them.

Richmond puffed out his chest thinking that he was swearing loyalty to himself and thought about what nice words to say.

But the Elemental Lich approached Zeke not Richmond and knelt down.

    “Greetings to the master.”

Richmond looked at Arch Rich who was kneeling before Zeke with a dumbfounded expression.

“This ungrateful lich… I performed the ritual for him!”

Ignoring Richmond’s words Elemental Reach continued to speak to Zeke politely.

“I swear to you my great master that I will remain faithful to my duty as a guardian and make an eternal pledge to you.”

After hearing the Elemental Lich’s words Zeke felt something strange.

‘Did this guy mistake me for a dragon?’

It seems that the dragon mistook it for a lich created by reacting with the heart of Bahamut during Zeke’s interruption and summoned it to use him as a guardian.

Zeke looked at the Elemental Lich thought for a moment then nodded.

“Good. I will make you my guardian.”

At the same time Zeke’s shadow rippled.

[You can combine the power Shadow Domination and skill Absorption to turn Elemental Lich into a Shadow Spirit.]

Elemental Liches unlike other Liches were closer to spirits like genies so it seemed possible to create shadow spirits.

‘It would be easier to manage if I made it into a shadow spirit.’

As Zeke gave his permission the rippling shadows enveloped Arkrich.

Arkrich was startled when a shadow suddenly seeped into his body.

“Cough! Great Being what is this…!”

Zeke said as he looked at the elemental lich.

    “I’m sorry but I’m not a dragon.”

    “That can’t be…”

Before we knew it the Elemental Lich was almost completely swallowed up by Zeke’s shadow.

    [Elemental Lich has been absorbed.]

[The absorbed Elemental Lich is transformed into a Shadow Spirit due to the influence of Shadow Domination.]

    Tsk tsk tsk―

The Elemental Lich looked around his body not understanding the current situation and made a strange expression.

    “What what happened?”

At that moment a message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.

[You can register a Shadow Spirit as a summon.]

[Would you like to register as a summoner and give it a name?]

It’s time again to name your summons.

Zeke wondered what to name him so he asked the Elemental Lich.

    “What is your original name?”

Arkrich snapped back at Zigg’s words about becoming the master of the soul.

    “It was Liberto my lord.”

    “Then let’s call him Bane.”

The Elemental Lich wondered why he had asked her a name that had nothing to do with her original name but kept his mouth shut.

[You have acquired the Summon Bane.]

Bane’s newly summoned eyes flashed blue.

He said bowing his head towards Zeke.

“I pledge my everlasting loyalty to the Master who gave me new life.”

    Zeke nodded at Bane’s greeting.

He said as he looked at Bane.

“You too change your appearance like Richmond.”

Richmond when he became Zeke’s summon had a similar appearance to Naga due to the characteristics of the dragon species. Then now that he has changed to this appearance I thought it was natural that it would be possible.

Bane said bewildered by Zeke’s words.

“Master that is beyond my ability.”

Then Richmond who was standing next to him said:

“Master I think that’s possible because I became a lich with the blood stone making me half human and half lich.”

    Zeke nodded at Richmond’s words.

“Hmm that could be possible. So it wouldn’t work if you used an elixir?”

Then Bane said in a panicked voice.

“That’s because I only have the ability to use elemental magic while in the body of a lich…”

Zeke was troubled as he looked at Bane who looked like a tiny creature to anyone.

‘I guess I can’t take it out as openly as Richmond.’

Zeke looked at Bane and asked.

“Bane but why did you want to become a lich? I know that magicians other than necromancers rarely want to become liches.”

Then Bane said in a gloomy voice.

    “It’s so unfair Master.”

“He died from an illness so what else is there to feel sorry about?”

“If he had died of illness it wouldn’t have been this unfair.”

    “Didn’t he die from illness?”

“It’s true that I had an illness. That’s why I wanted to make the elixir. However when I realized that the elixir couldn’t cure my illness I tried to face death quietly. I tried to put my affairs in order and donate everything I had studied to Nirvana. But….”

    Bane continued trembling.

“I never imagined that I would die from poisoning rather than illness.”

    “You were poisoned?”

    Bane nodded.

    “Yes I was poisoned.”

Zeke tilted his head and asked.

“Who would go to the trouble of poisoning an 8th circle wizard who is about to die?”

At those words Bane gritted his teeth and said.

“There’s only one guy on the continent who would do something like that!”

A white cold aura emanated from Bane’s mouth.

“Those evil Drakers! They must have poisoned me!”

The atmosphere suddenly became tense as if the air around them had frozen.

Richmond who was behind rolled his eyes here and there and slowly stepped back.

Bane was still snorting his breath coming out white.

Zeke nodded after hearing Bane’s words.

“Hmm then Bane you must have a grudge against Draker.”

“I will freeze them to the bone and kill them leaving no trace of their blood relatives behind!”

At those words Richmond shook his head with a pale face behind him.

But unfortunately Richmond’s signal did not reach Bain.

    Zeke asked Bane.

“Is there any evidence that Draker was poisoned?”

Then Bane gritted his teeth and said

“There is no such thing. But in the first place the only people who would poison the magicians of Nirvana are Drakers.”

    “Isn’t there Ishtar too?”

“I have never really held a grudge against the elves of Ishtar.”

Bane knew that House Ishtar was elven.

Zeke thought deeply about Bane’s words about Draker poisoning him.

‘Poisoning. If Draker had intended to kill the wizard he probably wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of poisoning him.’

Even if he had been poisoned it seemed like he wouldn’t have left traces like this.

It was Draker’s way of closing down the lab and disposing of Bane’s dead body neatly.

    Zeke asked Bane again.

“Then have you ever had a fight with the Drakes?”

“I didn’t do it on purpose but I received a request and had some work to do.”

    “Request? What kind of request?”

As Zeke asked him in detail about the Draker side of things Bane also sensed something strange.

He spoke in a voice that was less excited than before.

    “That was Arthur Draker’s request.”
