A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 281
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 281
A fire giant with a whip of fire wrapped around its body rushed towards Zeke.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The fire giant collided with Zigg his body engulfed in a storm of rising flames.
Whoosh whoosh!
Zeke’s body was engulfed in a storm of fire.
The wizards who were looking at this were perplexed.
“Wait a minute. Is that okay?”
“Isn’t it a scam? What if Mr. Draker gets burned to the ground?”
Hearing the words of the wizards Hickson was also confused and tried to stop the game.
That was when.
“Just wait and see.”
Antonio who had appeared from the side blocked Hickson’s hand as it was being raised.
Hickson’s face turned pale when he saw his teacher who had suddenly appeared.
“Master S…”
As Hickson was trying to make an excuse he looked at his master’s face and realized that not only Antonio but also the masters of Nirvana were watching the confrontation between Zeke and Zeros.
Hickson’s eyebrows twitched.
‘I’m dead.’
Antonio clicked his tongue as he watched Zeros summon the fire giant.
“Tsk tsk you Zero guy. I always told you to be careful when dealing with knights.”
At Antonio’s discontented voice the red-cheeked short old wizard standing next to him smiled and spoke in a low voice.
“Tony don’t be like that. That’s because you’re up against a Drake. If you were a normal knight you’d already be reduced to ashes.”
But Antonio’s expression was filled with dissatisfaction.
“If you’re going to do it do it right.”
Hickson was puzzled when he heard the two masters speak like this.
‘It seems like Zeros is completely winning so why are you acting like that?’

When Hickson looked around the arena again he saw that Zeros was still tense and struggling to maintain his magic.
That was when.
Choaaaak!
Zeke swung his sword and broke through the flames surrounding him.
Kwakwakwakwa!
At Zero’s gesture the flames tried to reattach themselves to Zeke but it was no use.
Zeke’s movements were much faster.
Phew!
Zeke holding Bahamut quickly fell through the air and rushed towards Zeros.
Kookookookookook!
Zeros reached out and created a magical shield in front of him.
Kkwadduk!
But Zeke’s sword passed right through the magic shield.
A panicked Zero fired all the magic he could but Zeke’s sword deflected them all.
Choaack!
Zigg who had lost all his magic landed on the ground and put his sword to Zeros’ neck.
Zeros said raising his hand with a pale face.
“I lost.”
After he finished speaking he collapsed on the floor as if he had lost his strength.
Zeke reached out his hand towards Zeros.
“Thank you for your hard work Zeros. I learned a lot.”
When fighting Zeros Zeke intentionally wanted to see as many different magic combinations as possible so he created openings and minimized attacks.
Zeros’ sophisticated linked magic was difficult to deal with even for a battlefield veteran like Zeke.
As he was happily reminiscing about the match after experiencing as much magic as he had imagined Zeros grabbed Zeke’s hand and stood up saying:
“Sir Zeke I want to hear honestly how my magic was.”
Zik opened his mouth after thinking about it.
“It was sophisticated but I definitely felt it lacked practicality.”
Zeros was shocked by Zeke’s words and his face turned pale.
“You say the poem lacks practical experience?”
“Yes. As you said I felt that the link between magic and magic and the appropriate placement of each element in the attack were effective. However….
Zeke said locking eyes with Zeros.
“As elaborate as it is there is a high possibility that it will fall apart if something unexpected happens. On the battlefield a magic bomb could suddenly explode behind you or your comrade next to you could die in an instant causing mental shock. I wondered if it would be possible to perform such elaborate magic in such a situation.”
Zeros nodded with a serious expression after hearing Zeke’s words.
“Certainly… that could be possible.”
“It would be best if you could train for such a situation. If not you could create a similar environment…”
As Zeke was talking he felt someone’s gaze and turned around to see that Antonio and the other masters were listening to Zeke with their ears perked up.
When Zeke stopped talking Antonio coughed in embarrassment and said something to Zeros.

“Ahem you Zero! What did I tell you? I told you to stop the habit of summoning creatures when you’re in a hurry! Unlike when fighting magicians I told you that you’ll always win against knights if you strike first. It’s better if you can make a surprise attack.”
Zeros was taken aback by Antonio’s words.
“No but even so a surprise attack is a bit much isn’t it Master?”
Then Zeke who was next to him shook his head.
“No Antonio is right. The best way to use magic on knights is to surprise them when they are not expecting it.”
Antonio smiled brightly at Zeke’s words.
“Look! That’s what Draker’s knight said. Ser Zigg really knows a thing or two.”
Antonio’s affection for Zeke had clearly increased since the fairy stone.
Then the short flushed wizard next to him smiled and whispered.
“This is a good opportunity but I wish Sir Zeke would talk to our kids about actual combat. They’re all stuck in the lab holding pens so they’re losing their sense of actual combat.”
Antonio also nodded at those words.
“Hey that’s a good idea. Gutan what a great idea you have.”
Zeke was surprised to hear the name of the wizard next to Antonio.
‘Gutan Nirvana? As expected he’s the 8th Circle Master. He’s the pinnacle of battle-type magicians and a magician who has been given the title of Top Mage.’
Gutan Nirvana was one of the war heroes who participated in the war of aggression against the Eastern Empire 25 years ago and achieved countless achievements.
Unlike Howard Draker a fake hero who stole the credit of his comrades Gutan Nirvana was a real battle mage.
Gutan floated in the air and approached where Zeke and Zero were.
He said smiling at Zeke.
“If it’s alright with you Lord Zeke I’d like to invite you to the Battle Magic Academy where I’m an advisor.”
It was an opportunity to become acquainted with the Master of Nirvana so there was no reason to refuse.
“I would be happy to participate if you invite me.”
Gutan smiled and nodded.
“Okay. Then let’s meet with the members of the society tomorrow.”
The moment he finished speaking Gutan’s body became blurry and then disappeared.
Antonio shook his head after seeing such a scene.
“Wow that guy invited the knights first. If it’s a knight it’s really strange. Hey you guys the battle is over now. Hurry up and finish writing those papers you were working on!”
At those words Hickson who was trying to run away with the other wizards was grabbed by the scruff of the neck by Antonio.
“I told you to have some company but you couldn’t stand it anymore and caused another accident.”
“Hic Master. That’s not it. Sir Zeke wanted it first.”
“Are you talking back to me now?”
“Oh no. No Master.”
Antonio walked towards Zeke dragging Hickson along and said:
“Sir Zeke I’ve had a good talk with the Nodangs. They said it was very good.”
“Thank you Antonio. I will send you the official contract shortly.”
“Puhaha that’s good. It feels so good knowing I don’t have to go looking for that fairy stone for a while.”
Antonio grabbed Hickson and said
“Inma don’t cause any more trouble and just guide Sir Zeke to his guest room.”
“Oh I understand Master.”
Antonio finished what he had to say and made a door in the wall just like he had seen it for the first time and went inside.
Hickson said to Zeke sweating profusely.
“Wow you’re back to life. Sir Zeke. Come this way. I’ll show you where to stay.”
Then Zeke reached out to Hickson and said:
“Mr. Hickson shall we finish the calculations before that? I bet ten thousand pesos so I wonder how much the odds will be.”
At Zeke’s words Hickson’s face turned pale again.
* * *
Zeke who stayed in the guest room of Nirvana was surprised to find that the room was more ordinary than he had expected.
I thought it would be something special since it was a wizard’s room.
‘I was full of prejudice too.’
But it wasn’t just superficial prejudice.
Since each and every facility was powered by magic Zik couldn’t even turn on the lights.
Just as the Draker family always trained using Aura Nirvana was also intentionally made like this for magical training.
‘It’s embarrassing because I can’t call someone every time I turn the light on and off.’
After some thought Zeke turned on the system to test whether it could be connected to the facility.
[The higher-level administrator system is attempting to connect.]
[Check Code]
[Confirmation of those who have received the title Blessing of the Dragon]
[Obtain access to the 3rd Defense Base ‘Tower of Infinity’]
Zeke was startled when he saw the floating letters.
‘The Tower of Infinity? Was this also a place created by a dragon?’
Most places where system access was possible were likely places that had been created by the dragon.
Zeke was amazed and tried to operate the room’s facilities with the system.
“Turn on the light.”
The magic lights turned on at Zig’s command.
It is now possible to use the functions of the Infinite Tower by linking with the Kabbalah system.
‘That’s interesting. Let’s take a look at what features it has.’
Zig opened the system window and looked through the information stored in the Infinite Tower.
Most of what was saved was records of who was currently using the space and how.
‘I thought Hosgar would be able to use the system since he is a mercenary. Is it because wizards can’t access the system now?’
The Infinity Tower had the ability to infinitely expand the space inside the building.
It seemed like this feature could be used even without system access rights.
Since there had been no dragons from Nirvana since the first lord Hoshgar it seemed that only the basic functions of the tower were used and the other functions were not used at all.
‘Let’s take a look at the records from when Hosgar was here.’
After looking through records from a thousand years ago Zeke discovered that unlike now there was a lot of information stored in the system.
‘It seems like records left behind by wizards during the golden age after the war.’
Perhaps because it was the early days of the Nirvana family the content was a mess.
The magicians of the Magic Tower consider the results of their research to be visions and never reveal them to others.
Even if it is made public only the general contents are presented in the form of a thesis and the core theories are conveyed only to the immediate disciples.
However the wizards of Nirvana wanted to share their research results and develop better magic.
The idea was to prepare for an effective defense against enemies like the Demon King’s army when they invade the world of phenomena again.
From Hoshgar onwards that will has been passed down.
But it seemed like something had gone wrong with the records starting 500 years ago.
‘What? The recording ends here.’
Until then information was recorded in the system but from then on only spatial expansion information was recorded.
It seems that access to the Infinity Tower has been cut off for 500 years.
Zeke looked through the records from 500 years ago.
Looking through the records I could see that something big was happening in the Nirvana family at this time.
‘Necromancer? Originally there were necromancers in Nirvana but they were kicked out.’
In the early days of Nirvana necromancers who practiced black magic existed alongside regular magicians.
However problems began to arise 800 years ago when the first Luverne Dynasty established the Holy Empire and the religious order gained power.
The sect began to unconditionally persecute necromancers treating them as evil warlocks.
The wizards of Nirvana refuted the claims of the cult and tried to protect the necromancers but the cult indiscriminately captured them with the Paladins at the forefront.
Many of the Nirvana wizards who fiercely resisted the cult were sacrificed and because of this the wizards who had access to the Infinite Tower also died or went missing.
Necromancers gradually went into hiding due to the indiscriminate persecution of this cult and in the process the number of people carrying out illegal experiments increased rapidly.
‘It was a vicious cycle.’
Among them there was one name that caught Zeke’s eye.
“An experimental log of manufacturing artificial blood stone using the Mandragora method?”
It was a story I had heard a lot.
When I tried to go in and look at it a warning window popped up saying that the data had restricted access.
Zeke looked through the list trying to figure out who had written the journal.
A huge amount of data and diaries were spread out.
Zeke opened his mouth wide and looked at the author’s name.
“Victor Nirvana…..”
An unlucky genius necromancer.
Richmond’s real name was.
