A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 279
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 279
Fairy stones are incredibly expensive. The reason they are expensive is because they are extremely rare.
However wizards needed a lot of fairy stones because fairy stones were the only medium that had a higher mana conductivity than the highest-grade magic stones.
It is said that more than three-quarters of the research expenses of wizards are spent on purchasing fairy stones making them an essential research material for wizards.
Antonio swallowed dryly when he saw the fairy stone which was perfect in color size and condition.
Fairy stones like this are hard to find even if you pay for them.
“What’s this? Oh my you brought it to bribe me. You know a thing or two thinking of bribing a wizard with a fairy stone.”
“I’m sorry to say this but it’s not a bribe.”
Then Antonio frowned.
“It’s not a bribe? No. It would be a bribe. Think about it again.”
“It’s not a bribe it’s a trade item.”
Antonio tilted his head at Zeke’s words.
“Trade goods? Are you going to deliver fairy stones to us?”
“We will deliver a certain amount in processed form every quarter. I heard that these days there is a shortage of fairy stones so it is difficult to obtain them not only in the Magic Tower but also in Nirvana.”
At Zeke’s words Antonio gritted his teeth and put his pipe in his mouth.
“It’s already hard to find a damn guy who can do that but it’s gotten even harder these days.”
Before coming to Nirvana Zeke had been researching bloodstones and discovered that the supply of fairystones on the market had been reduced by half.
It was highly likely that they were purchasing fairy stones from the Abyss or adjusting the shipment amount to produce bloodstones.
As a result the wizards were very thirsty for fairy stones.
It was easy for Zeke to supply the supplies as he had discovered a huge vein of fairystone in the Southern Archipelago.
Antonio licked his lips and stroked the fairy stone that Zeke had brought him.
“Can you supply fairy stones of this quality?”
“While there are many impurities in the fairy stones sold on the market ours are of the highest quality with a purity of over 99% as you can see. And since the dwarves process them directly there is almost no loss.”
“Hmm.”
Antonio’s attitude was completely different from when Zeke first arrived.
He put on a magnifying glass and examined the fairy stone that Zeke had brought.

He nodded.
“Can we make 20 kilograms per quarter with this product?”
“How about 40 kilograms? But the price is 110% of the market price. I guarantee you the best quality.”
“40 kilograms for the highest grade? Damn if I could get my hands on it I’d buy it!”
“But there is a condition.”
“Conditions? What are they?”
“It must be a promise that it will never be sold outside and will only be consumed within the Nirvana family.”
Antonio snorted at those words.
“The fairy stone is something that can be obtained by selling other items so why would you sell this somewhere else if you’re crazy?”
“If you just keep that in mind we can keep having good deals.”
Antonio chuckled.
“Okay okay. Can I borrow this for a moment? Anyway there’s a system here so I need to talk to the old guys.”
“I will give that to you as a gift Antonio.”
“What? Is this real? Hahaha!”
Antonio who was dancing around while holding the fairy stone shouted toward the next room.
“Hey! Hickson!”
At his shout-like call a loud crash was heard from the side and someone quickly entered the lab.
“Oh you called Master?”
“Hey I’m going to go check on the old guys for a bit so stay here with Draker no Sir Zeke and keep them company. Hehehehe just wait a minute.”
Antonio passed Zeke to Hickson and went out laughing heartily.
‘It looks like a storm has swept through.’
Although it was a fairy stone that I had brought separately for the purpose of persuasion I didn’t know that the 8th Circle Master would like it that much.
Hickson who had been assigned to Zeke by chance greeted Zeke while scratching his head.
“Nice to meet you. So… Sir Zeke Draker! Are you the Knight of the Sea?”
“Yes Mr. Hickson. What should I call you?”
“Just Hickson is enough.”
Wizards had many different titles.
Normally the title “mage” is used for general magicians.
Those who become mages usually enter the Magic Tower and decide on their own specialty and when they master it to a certain level they are given a title that matches it.
Those who have learned elemental magic are called sorcerers those who have learned curse magic are called enchanters those who have learned location weapon making are called enchanters and those who have specialized in combat are called warlocks. Those who study magic spells and activation formulas are called magicians.
Among those who pioneered this specialized field those who discovered new magical systems or theories were given the title of Wizard.
The Nirvana family ignored this classification of magic towers and grouped themselves together under the name of ‘magicians’.
It contained the meaning that he would walk the path to the truth he was seeking by integrating all knowledge without defining himself by his field of expertise.
While Zig was thinking that Hickson who looked a little clumsy was also a wizard of Nirvana Hickson pondered how to talk to Zig according to his master’s orders.
Then a thought suddenly occurred to me and I blurted it out to Zeke.
“Sir Zeke you are a Drake so you must know a lot about dragons.”
“We have learned the art of dragon catching but we have not seen the dragon ourselves so we only know what is known.”

Hickson’s eyes lit up at Zeke’s words.
“You’re talking about the famous Dragon Slayer technique. Come to think of it I heard that pureblood Awakened people have the ability to repel magic. Is that true? It’s my first time seeing a pureblood Draker Awakened person…”
“That’s true. I’d like to show you but if I take my gloves off here I think Antonio will faint.”
Hickson was startled by Zeke’s words.
“I absolutely cannot! If anything here is broken I will die…”
Hickson calmed down and continued speaking.
“But Sir Zeke do you know about the way dragons used magic in the old days?”
Zeke nodded to Hickson’s words and said.
“Are you talking about the Dragon’s Word?”
“Huh! How did you know?”
It was Zeke who unknowingly gave the correct answer.
“I picked it up as I went but I don’t know exactly what it is.”
At those words Hickson said with a sparkle in his eyes.
“Actually that’s the area we research in our lab.”
“Is it a verb?”
“To be exact I’m researching ways to make the no-voice spell more efficient by applying the verb method.”
“The spell of no-lightning. That sounds interesting.”
“I’m so happy” Hickson said excitedly as Zeke reacted.
“Right? That’s why my master and I thought the same thing and that’s why we’ve been stuck here for five years now. The limit for how much a 5th circle magician can use magic without a chant is up to the 3rd circle. If a 5th circle magician could use 4th or 5th circle magic without a chant the efficiency would go up tremendously.”
Zeke nodded at Hickson’s words.
The reason why so many wizards die on the battlefield is because they are exposed defenselessly while reciting spells.
If as Hickson said it was possible to use magic without a spell the advantage of the black magicians would disappear and a new uproar would occur in the magical world.
As he listened to Hickson explain how verbs work something occurred to Zeke.
‘Come to think of it the skills I use are also a type of verb magic.’
Originally Zeke a knight could not use magic.
However he was using magic in the form of skills through the system.
Of course it was possible because there was a Heart of Bahamut in place before the break but thinking back on it it was still an incredible feat.
‘If I study magic wouldn’t I be able to use my skills more efficiently?’
Magic was a field I had never thought about before.
Zeke spoke to Hickson speculating about the correlation between his skills and magic.
“Mr. Hickson I have a question.”
Hickson who had been explaining the theoretical content of verb magic was surprised to hear what Zeke said.
“So the mana moves to the magic organ and the composition itself changes… Yes? Are you curious?”
“Are there any remaining records of battles involving the Dragon Magic?”
Hickson thought carefully about Zeke’s question and nodded.
“There are no direct records but I think there were reconstructed materials based on ancient records. Wait a minute. There are experts in that area.”
Hickson turned his head to the side and shouted.
“Hey! Zeros!”
Hickson shouted but there was no response from the next room.
Hickson got up from his seat and kicked the door shouting.
“Hey! Zeros! What are you doing!”
Unlike before it was Hickson who shouted with all his might in a powerful voice.
Then the door slid open and a wizard with a face that looked like he was about to die walked out.
“Euuuu. Senior. Why did you call me?”
“It would have been a good thing if it had been me. If the Master had called and you hadn’t answered you would have died immediately.”
“Ugh. Please don’t tell the teacher.”
The young man with the scruffy hair called Zeros sat down with a thud and asked Hickson.
“But why did you call me? I’ve only been sleeping for three days.”
Hickson introduced himself pointing to Zick who was sitting across from him.
“Greet me. I am Sir Zeke Draker your guest. The knight of the week…”
In that moment Zeros jumped up from his seat climbed onto the table and extended his hand to Zeke.
“Knight of the Sea! The youngest blue… no now red knight on the continent! Sir Zeke Draker! It is an honor to meet you! I am Yongyong a member.”
Zeke tilted his head at Zeros’ words.
“Nice to meet you Zeros. But… what is Yongyong?”
Zeros was shocked that Zeke didn’t know about his fan club the Yongyongs.
He tried to come to his senses and spoke while caressing Zeke’s hand.
“This is Sir Zeke’s hand… haa haa. I shouldn’t wash it until I go to the fan club meeting. Hehehe.”
Hickson hit Zeros in the head.
“Sir Inma Zik you’re surprised. Stop talking nonsense and tell me about your major knowledge.”
Zeros asked Hickson rubbing the back of his head.
“Ugh. What kind of story are you telling all of a sudden?”
“Sir Zeke is curious about the battle records of the Dragon Magic.”
“Yes? Really?”
Zeke nodded.
“I heard that you are researching how to improve the operation of the magic of no-casting spells by applying the magic of the dragon. As a knight I am curious as to how you would deal with the short-casting magic of the dragon.”
Zeros nodded impressed by Zeke’s words.
“As expected Sir Zeke. You are truly a true knight.”
Again Hickson hit Zeros on the back of the head.
“Why is the wizard so moved by that? To paraphrase what Sir Zigg said just now he is thinking about how to cut off the neck of the wizard Muyeongchang.”
Zeros nodded at Hickson’s words.
“If it’s Sir Zeke then he should be able to defeat even the most invincible wizard… Oh my it’s scary to think about it haha. Anyway… Please wait a moment.”
Zeros nodded opened the door again went into his room and started searching for something.
Hickson sighed pointing to such a zero.
“I’m sorry Sir Zeke. Even though that Zeros guy looks like he’s missing a screw he’s a top graduate of the Magic Tower and has already earned the titles of Sorcerer and Warlock.”
It was quite remarkable that someone so young had been given two titles: sorcerer and warlock.
Warlock was a title that could be earned by mastering at least two types of combat magic and support magic in more than five circles and Sorcerer was a title that could be earned by mastering three or more types of elemental magic in more than five circles.
A moment later Zeros came out of the room mumbling and carrying something.
“Hoo senior please take this.”
Hickson took what Zeros had brought and placed it against the wall.
“What is this?”
“It’s a 3D projector. My senior applied for it last month but he said there was no space so he put it in my room.”
Zeros set up a stereoscopic image machine and used magical power to power it.
So a translucent halo of light started to appear in the stereoscopic image.
Zeros adjusted his magic power to move the halo.
Then a knight and a dragon appeared in a translucent form.
“Look carefully Sir Zeke. This is what it looks like when I use actual Dragon Spell magic which I restored from my records.”
It was when the human knight who appeared in the 3D projector approached the dragon with a sword in hand.
At that moment a magic circle appeared in front of the dragon.
Phage crackle!
The knight who rushed at the dragon was instantly frozen fried by electricity and burned to death.
Zigg who had seen the 3D image looked at Zeros with a bewildered expression.
“What is this?”
“That’s a magic spell. Six spells were cast at once in an instant without any warning.”
