A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 263
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 263
It’s not often that we get to seize a golden opportunity in life.
Yet Zeke had several such opportunities.
But all the great opportunities that have been created so far were based on information that Zeke brought back from his past life.
But this time it was a result that even Zikro could not have imagined.
It was Zig who had hit the jackpot by pure chance in a cave in the Southern Archipelago a wasteland worse than a wasteland that no one had ever thought of approaching.
Zig gaped at the sight of the fairy stones densely packed into the wall.
“Crazy… Fairy stones that are several times more expensive than the highest quality magic stones are out in the open like this.”
If this really was a vein of fairystone Zigg could have several times the wealth he had accumulated so far.
After examining the fairy stone Zeke realized why not only the shadow spirits but also Richmond could not enter this place.
“It’s a cave filled with minerals that naturally absorb and store mana so it must have formed a natural magic field. There must be a reason why summoned creatures couldn’t approach it.”
While he was at it Zig decided to dig up some fairy stones and use them to strengthen his Uncheolgeom.
Arataso who was sealed in the Uncheolgeom suddenly woke up when Zeke tried to do something with the sword.
[What are you doing?]
Zig placed the Uncheolgeom which contained the Arataso on the reinforcement window and put in the materials he had collected one by one.
“And here’s the last fairy stone…”
[What is this guy trying to do now!]
Zig placed the last ingredient the fairy stone and pressed strengthen.
Woohoo!
Just like with Roland the light flashed in the reinforcement window and the progress bar appeared.
After about ten minutes the reinforcement progress reached 100%.
Ttarang!
A clear beep sounded indicating that the reinforcement was complete.
[Equipment ‘Uncheolgeom’ has been strengthened.]
[There is no equipment name yet. Please register an equipment name for the enhanced equipment.]

“Green Sword Arataso.”
The reinforced sword was a darker green and had Aratasso sealed inside so it was named Aratasso.
[The equipment name will be registered as ‘Green Sword Arataso’.]
[The ability of ‘Green Sword Arataso’ has been strengthened.]
Zeke held the strengthened green sword in his hand.
“Oh it’s not bad.”
The blade of the crudely shaped Yuncheolgeom was emitting a green glow and its surface was engraved with geometric patterns.
And at the center of the sword was a large jewel that glowed with a green light.
Zeke checked the information on the green sword Arataso.
-Green Sword Arataso Information-
Description: A sword that was strengthened with fairy stones by the high-ranking demon Arataso’s sealed cloud sword.
Unique Ability: Summon Seal
Special: The sword becomes stronger as it absorbs the power of other demons. As the sword becomes stronger it can draw out the original power of the sealed Arataso.
“You can summon Arataso?”
Zeke was surprised by the unexpected ability. Zeke immediately took up his sword and tried to summon Arataso.
Woohoo!
The green jewel embedded in the sword began to glow and a green spirit rose up and took shape.
[Kkaaaah!]
Aratasou jumped out making a sound as if he was finally stretching after being trapped in a narrow space.
Zeke tilted his head when he saw Aratasso appear.
This was because Aratasso appeared in the form of a knight wearing green-glowing armor rather than the wooden body he had seen before.
It looked like a centaur with a lower body made of horses but its entire body was covered in armor.
Kookung!
Arataso who appeared as a summoned being was surprised to see his own appearance.
[How can this be? I can maintain my true form in the phenomenal world!]
Zeke said as he looked at Arataso.
“Arataso. Is that your true form?”
Arataso responded with an arrogant attitude to Zeke’s words.
[Yes! How does it feel to see the majestic appearance of me Aratasso the first of the clear green desires!]
To Zeke it just looked like an armored centaur.
In fact it was almost impossible to see centaurs in the Central Continent.
Only a few tribes survived in the western plains.
I heard that there was a land of centaurs in the eastern continent but this was not accurate either.
As I looked at Aratasso I suddenly remembered things from my previous life.
‘The few remaining Centaurs took part as a major part of the Western Revolutionary Army together with the Joiners.’
The Crouching Flame Song of the Join Tribe and the Centaurs and other water people gathered together to form a revolutionary army for freedom.
This organization surprisingly survived the continental war and went on to occupy the western territory including Delphos.

I remember that the Northern Continent’s news gave them a lot of coverage because it was a victory that no one had expected.
While Zeke was lost in his past life due to the appearance of the centaur he had not seen in a long time Arataso came outside for the first time in a long time and ran around excitedly.
[Huh?]
Then not long after Arataso collapsed on his back as if his legs had lost their strength.
And then the axe fell off.
[Why is this like this?]
Zeke looked at Arataso with pitying eyes.
“I guess the atmosphere of the phenomenal world doesn’t suit me well.”
[This can’t be happening?]
“Don’t push yourself too hard. Go in and rest.”
Zeke tried to release Aratasso who was trying to get up somehow and called him back into the sword.
Aratasou who had entered the sword continued speaking in a voice that seemed to say that he could not believe it.
[This is a bit strange. When I was in the Demon Realm I led over a thousand Death Knights and ran from one end of the vast area to the other without getting tired at all….]
Zeke simply cut off Arataso’s voice as he continued to talk not really curious about it.
Zeke was becoming more and more accustomed to handling Aratasso.
Zeke went further inside through the cavity.
At some point instead of a regular cave walls and floors made of solid bricks appeared.
It was evidence that he had entered the dungeon.
‘It looks like the black ore cave and the ruins were connected.’
As he entered the dungeon Zeke found traces of a demon carved into the wall.
‘Three sharp claws. Is this a beast-shaped demon?’
The guys at the entrance to the cave earlier were also beast-like demons similar to Nol.
Zeke’s expression hardened as he went inside recalling his experience of hunting demons with his master during his Highlander days.
‘Beastly demons tend to have a leader who leads them.’
The demon that was caught with Wang Jumuk was a humanoid demon rather than a beast-like creature in the form of a cause.
And the most difficult ones to hunt were humanoid beasts like Gaguk.
Because he was smart and quick-witted it was not easy to catch him.
On the other hand the beast-type demons were the most dangerous ones.
This is because they are true to their instincts and are aggressive enough to attack first even if something is stronger than them once it enters their range.
After launching a barrage of attacks like that once the target’s strength had been exhausted the strongest leader would appear and deliver the final attack.
‘If they were beast-type demons Arina would have been attacked continuously as well.’
Perhaps as the attacks continued they fled to somewhere on the island where it was easier to defend themselves.
The problem was with the statues that were mentioned in the report Jason sent.
I didn’t think about it at the time but as I looked around this place one thing came to mind.
‘It’s not Medusa but… could it be here? The location where it appears is completely different…’
He looked around the dungeon with doubts. Then Zeke discovered a space filled with dust.
Zeke felt something different and headed towards it but something caught his foot.
‘What is this?’
I bent down to look closely and saw that it was a human arm made of stone.
Zeke picked up his arm and looked around.
Then he frowned.
“This is giving me a headache. It could really be him.”
That was when.
Whoosh!
Sharp claws flew towards where Zeke was.
Swish!
Zig narrowly avoided it by moving his body with the Welcome Technique.
Phew!
Zeke who succeeded in evading immediately took out Bahamut.
‘This time it’s a werewolf.’
A werewolf-like creature was seen slowly approaching Zeke with its sharp claws raised.
It was a creature with much stronger muscle strength and bite power than a typical werewolf.
Zeke charged forward aiming at Bahamut.
Phew!
As Zeke assumed the Infinite Sword stance a strong resonance wave spread around him on its own.
Woohoo!
The waves of resonance passed through the demon’s body.
Krrrr!
The demon beast retreated in confusion as if magic was seething.
Zeke didn’t miss that opportunity.
Chomp!
After cutting off the demon’s head cleanly with one blow Zeke put away his sword and began to eat gluttonously.
That was when.
Krrrrrr—
Demons appeared from all sides.
But surprisingly the appearances of the demons were all different.
‘Some look like leopards and some look like lions.’
Each one was so strong that it acted as a leader in other places.
‘This isn’t a very good sign. He’s the leader of these guys who can tie them together and rule them. He’s the only one.’
As Zeke was gathering his thoughts while observing the situation fierce demons rushed at him from all directions.
Zeke held Bahamut and calmly performed the Infinite Sword Strike.
Choaaaah!
In an instant Bahamut’s sword blade split into several halves and accurately struck the vital points of the rushing demons.
It was almost as if Zeke’s body had split into several people and created clones.
Grrr!
The demons stabbed by Zeke’s sword stumbled backwards and fell to the ground with a thud.
All the demons with strong vitality were killed with one blow to their vital points.
“They’re strong guys so they give out a lot of points. If I hunt demons here I’ll be able to accumulate points quickly.”
After eating his fill with satisfaction Zeke followed the trail left by the demons.
There were bones of animals and monsters scattered everywhere.
‘I guess this is their hunting ground.’
The demons prey on both humans and monsters without distinction.
They were even the kind of people who would eat each other when there was nothing else to eat.
That is why the Master said that demons are bottomless creatures with only instinct and the desire to destroy left.
While recalling his master’s teachings and searching for traces of the devil Zeke discovered something.
“What is this?”
What Zeke picked up was none other than a doll.
Since it was a doll with barely any dust on it Zig assumed that it had been brought here by one of the children from Luverne.
‘Did they evacuate this way?’
Maybe the demons had driven them to their hunting grounds.
Zeke opened his bloodshot eyes and examined where the traces left on the doll led.
A trace was etched into his eyes.
As soon as he confirmed it Zig moved quickly.
As if the fog had dispersed only an afterimage remained where Zeke’s body had been.
Tsk tsk tsk―
It was when Zeke went inside the dungeon to find traces.
Krrrrrr—
Kagagak!
Kyaaaaah!
From inside there was the sound of demons crying and scratching at the walls.
Zeke pulled out Bahamut and went inside.
To my surprise there was a wall blocking the way further in and dozens of demons were running wild in front of it.
The demons howled ferociously and clawed at the wall with their sharp claws.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Large demons that resembled bears were banging their bodies against the wall trying to break it down.
The demons seemingly starving had their sharp teeth out and were just waiting for the wall to collapse.
‘Did Jason make that wall?’
If it was a wall created by magic there would be a limit to how long it could last.
Zeke calmly lifted Bahamut and aimed it at the demons.
Then he unleashed the Elemental Sword’s firepower.
Whoosh whoosh!
Blue flames quickly rose up across Bahamut.
‘Phew.’
After the Elemental Sword was upgraded to SS-grade its power had become so much stronger than before that it was difficult for Zeke to control its power.
If we made a mistake not only those demons but also our comrades inside the wall could be engulfed in flames.
Zeke swung his sword at the demons controlling his strength as much as possible.
Elemental Sword (True)
Field of firepower
Blue Flame Dance
A pillar of blue flame rose from Zig’s sword.
Whoosh whoosh!
The pillars of flame of the blue flames slithered between the demons as if they were snakes made of fire slithering wildly.
Kwakwakwakwa!
The demons who were touched by the flames of the blue flame were unable to even scream and were turned to ash and scattered.
Kaaaak!
Although they were demons with only the instinct to attack they were nothing more than weak sacrificial lambs in front of the cruel flames of the blue flames.
Before I knew it the area in front of the wall was filled with blazing blue flames.
Dozens of demons were burned in flames leaving only black ash.
Zeke looked at the horrific sight he had created and was reminded of the ruined Atlas he had seen in his past life.
It felt as if Zeke himself had slaughtered a weak creature.
He shook his head and steeled himself.
‘I still lack training. I need to keep training until I can use the Elemental Sword properly.’
Zik walked slowly through the place where only ashes remained.
Then he stretched out his hand towards the wall and opened a magic reflection field.
Kkieeeeing!
The wall that touched the reflector slowly collapsed.
