A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 252
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 252
Bubbling bubbling!
A bowl of boiling red soup was placed before Hades as he sat at the banquet table.
Hades looked at Zeke sitting next to him and asked.
“What is this?”
Zig prepared a healing factor for the stimulating smell he smelled for the first time in two years.
He looked at Hades and said:
“This is the food that the Ishtar family serves to their distinguished guests.”
Hades looked at the red soup in front of him with a displeased expression. He tilted his head and looked around then looked at the ripper pepper in front of him and asked Zeke.
“What is this?”
“It’s a seasoning. If you sprinkle it on you can experience a new taste.”
In fact dragons are creatures that can survive without eating food.
This was because it absorbed mana in the air and converted it into magical power to obtain energy.
Hades who had been chained to the ruins for three thousand years and had not eaten any food had lost his sense of smell and taste.
Since it had been a long time since he had eaten this food he listened to Zeke and sprinkled a lot of ripple pepper on the soup.
Then he glanced at Zeke.
He soon saw Zig take a big bite of soup and take a big bite himself feeling relieved.
“Ugh!”
Hades’ face turned red as he ate the soup without paying attention.
It was like I had swallowed a fireball.
He immediately got up from his seat and started jumping around.
“Kueeeeek! Water! Water! Kkuaaaak!”
Zeke leisurely ate his soup while watching Hades wreak havoc.
But since it was my second time eating it it was more bearable than before.
‘I’m not joking I can really taste the flavor now.’
A rich savory flavor emerged through the intense spiciness.

He said as he sprinkled more of the Ripper pepper he had left on Hades’ seat.
“Why are you saying that when there is delicious food?”
Hades trembled and shouted at Zeke.
“This is crazy! No matter what I’ve eaten in the past three thousand years I know that this isn’t food it’s poison!”
At Hades’ words the ears of the elven elders including Jamilla perked up.
It was a disappointment that the precious food that had been prepared with great care did not suit the taste of the great being.
Hades was perplexed at the sight of the elves.
“These guys? Why are they making such expressions!”
Zeke said to Hades.
“This is so precious that even the Ishtar family only eats it once a year.”
Hades who was weak-hearted couldn’t help but feel inwardly embarrassed by his words.
‘Why on earth would you do something like this?’
Hades looked at the drooping-eared elves and had no choice but to sit back down.
Black dragons have a very emotional and meticulous personality due to their racial characteristics.
He wasn’t so desperate that he would bury the food he had painstakingly prepared for himself.
Hades shivered and took another sip of the soup.
“Ugh!”
Eating it again felt like pouring a bowl of poison into it.
He secretly used the antidote magic Cure to soothe his mouth without the elves knowing.
The elves perked up their ears again as they saw Hades eating the soup happily.
Zik looked at the appearance of the Ishtar elders with wonder.
‘The Ishtar family who made the entire continent tremble in fear also had this side to them.’
Eventually Hades emptied the soup and collapsed.
“Damn… I just got released from the seal and now I’m dying like this.”
“What kind of dragon would die from eating something spicy?”
Zeke smirked and used his healing factor on Hades.
Then Hades whose sting had subsided regained his energy and got up.
“Ugh. I thought I was going to die. But you’re a knight aren’t you? How do you know how to use magic?”
“I will explain it to you in detail later.”
After the other elves had finished eating Zeke left Hades in Yellin’s care and requested an interview with the head of the household Jamilla.
Jamilla took Zeke to the family room.
“Sit down comfortably Zeke Draker.”
Jamilla felt good about treating the dragon well with precious food.
Zig sat down leaning against a cushion with an Eastern Empire pattern on the floor.
As Jamilla sat down at the head table a black panther that had been lying curled up next to her came over to her side.
As Jamilla stroked the panther’s head the creature made a pleased expression. Then it turned its head to look at Zeke.

It was a black panther baring its teeth in caution perhaps because it saw a stranger.
Zeke tried his taming skill while looking at the black panther.
Then the black panther’s expression changed from before and it slowly approached Zeke.
Gyarreung.
Then he started playing with his front paws in front of Zeke and before he knew it he was rubbing his cheek against his thigh.
Jamilla looked at the black panther with a dumbfounded expression.
“I’ve never seen Nero do that to a stranger before. Zeke Draker you’ve got some amazing talent.”
Zeke was stroking the head of the black panther that had fallen asleep on his lap when he asked Jamilla.
“I have something to ask you sir.”
Jamilla said with a relaxed expression.
“Tell me. Right now I feel so good that I could have a conversation with Arthur Draker.”
It felt like Jamilla not only hated Arthur Draker she loathed him.
Zeke asked Jamilla what he wanted to ask without much reaction to it.
“Do you know about the Fairy Lake?”
Jamilla’s eyebrows twitched at Zeke’s words.
She opened her mouth slowly because she was asked a completely unexpected question.
“It’s the lake of fairies. Why do you ask?”
Zeke realized that the compass was pointing correctly.
Because if Jamilla didn’t know anything about the Fairy Lake she wouldn’t have answered like that.
Zeke opened his mouth again.
“We need to find the Fairy Lake.”
“So what I’m asking is why we need to find that lake.”
After much thought Zeke decided to play the card that would force Jamilla to speak.
“Hades must find the Lake of Fairies to regain his strength.”
Jamilla’s expression changed when Hades’ name came out of Zeke’s mouth.
“Are you saying that the Great One is looking for the Lake of Fairies?”
“Yes. You have been tied up here for three thousand years and are unable to fully utilize your original powers. In order to find your past spirituality you must go to the sacred lake of fairies and regain your strength.”
Jamilla was taken aback by Zeke’s plausible words. She frowned and slowly opened her mouth.
“My ancestors were tasked with guarding the Fairy Forest where the Fairy Lake was located.”
“The Fairy Forest? This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing.”
“After the Fairy King blocked the path to the Fairy Lake after Hero King Kaisir left the mortal world the Fairy Forest also lost its power.”
The hermit in the story also told a similar story.
‘With the Fairy Lake blocked and the power of the Fairy King protecting them gone did the vampires from the north attack them?’
I don’t know the exact causal relationship but considering what Hades said it seemed like it should be seen that way.
Zeke asked Jamilla.
“So now the road to Fairy Lake is completely blocked?”
Then Jamilla continued resting her chin on her hand.
“That’s not true. But… they’re the only ones who know the way to the Fairy Lake.”
“Who are you talking about?”
“The Druids.”
Zeke was startled by those words.
“Are there still Druids left?”
Since the existence of the Druids could only be found in records from the time of the Hero King Zeke secretly thought that they no longer existed.
Then Jamilla said
“Originally the Druids and High Elves were the guardians of the Fairy Forest. We left that place but I heard that the Druids still guard it.”
“Why is that so?”
Jamilla hesitated for a moment and then slowly opened her mouth.
“The Elven King has entrusted his last hope to the Druids. If anyone is worthy of entering the Lake of the Elves he has asked them to lead the way to them.”
Zeke nodded remembering later what Tyr had referred to as ‘the place guarded by the druids’.
“Then if we find the druids we can go to the lake of fairies.”
“That is the story that has been passed down but it is not certain whether it will actually happen. After all no one has entered the Fairy Forest since the era of the King of Heroes.”
Zeke said to Jamilla.
“Do you know where the Druids are my lord?”
At those words Jamilla wiggled her eyebrows and shook her head.
“I don’t know.”
An unexpected answer came out of Jamilla’s mouth.
Only the Druids knew the way to the Lake of the Faeries but if you didn’t know where they were you were back to square one.
Then Jamilla continued speaking.
“I don’t know where the Druids are now. But I do know where one of them is.”
“Where is it?”
“Aten.”
That was when.
[The compass recalculates the optimal direction to ‘Fairy Lake’.]
[Starts guidance in the newly calculated direction.]
A message came to mind.
It seemed like Jamilla’s answer had updated the new direction information.
‘If you go to Aten you can meet the Druids. Then why did you set your direction to Ishtar first and not Aten? Is this the result of calculating the holistic causality?’
As Zeke understood what the compass points to he became more curious about how the compass worked.
Jamilla said looking at Zeke.
“Three years ago a man who identified himself as a druid appeared in the border region. He asked for our help in crossing the rough border region.”
“Did you help him?”
Then Jamilla looked at Zeke with sharp eyes and said.
“We never helped. We just said one thing. You can pass through Ishtar’s realm.”
Zeke heard Jamilla’s words and immediately understood what she meant.
No lawbreaker dares to set foot on Ishtar’s territory.
The fact that the Ishtar family allowed him to set foot on their territory was in itself an acknowledgement of him as their guest.
And none of the lawbreakers would dare to touch a guest of the House of Ishtar.
This was because it was obvious that if one offended Ishtar Ishtar’s ravens would exact a punishment from which there was no escape.
Zeke felt once again that the person in front of him was the head of the Ishtar family one of the three great transcendent families on the continent.
“The Druids of Aten have been favored by the House of Ishtar.”
“That’s something you have to decide for yourself.”
After Jamilla finished answering she looked at Zeke and started talking about something else.
“So Zeke Draker you have decided not to marry Yellin?”
Zeke was a little taken aback because he hadn’t expected Jamilla to bring up the subject of marriage again.
“Isn’t Yellin’s opinion more important than mine?”
Jamilla said with a slightly subtle expression at Zeke’s words.
“Hmm that’s Yellin’s opinion…”
Zeke became even more anxious at Jamilla’s unreadable expression.
After a while she nodded as if she understood and gestured to Zeke.
“Understood. Go back and rest. Anyway since you have done a great job in breaking the shackles of the oath I will grant you the honor of attending the family banquet starting tomorrow.”
Zeke said with an embarrassed expression at Jamilla’s kindness.
“I’m sorry but I think I have to go right away.”
Jamilla responded to Zeke’s words as if nothing had happened.
“Then I can’t help it.”
But Zeke saw that Jamilla’s ears were half-drooping.
‘Are you upset that I left early?’
I thought Zeke wanted me to go faster since he kept raising his voice but it seemed like that wasn’t the case.
Even though he was a great man he was not so great as to make the head of the Ishtar family feel bad so he immediately changed his words.
“But since the Lord himself invited me it would be impolite to go right away. It’s Ishtar’s banquet. I’m really looking forward to it.”
At those words Jamilla’s ears perked up again.
“Hmm! Well if you really want to attend I’ll give you a chance.”
‘It’s good that Yellin and Ishtar are easy to read.’
After politely greeting Jamilla Zeke left the master’s room and followed the servant’s instructions to his room.
Unlike the room we first stayed in it was a splendid room for VIPs.
The maids each of whom was a peerless beauty approached Zeke.
“Sir Zeke we have prepared a warm bath for you. We will serve you.”
Zeke felt burdened by the excessive treatment.
“No it’s okay…”
That was when.
The attendant approached Zeke.
“Jeong Kyung Yellin has come to see you.”
“Are you talking about Yellin?”
Zig quickly got away from the maids and went out himself to open the door.
Then standing in front of him was Yellin looking completely different than usual.
Yellin approached Zik wearing an old-fashioned traditional oriental dress that showed off her beautiful body lines.
“Sir Zeke.”
She said this as she looked at Zeke with eyes as clear and shining as a lake.
“I have come to ask you a favor.”
