A Dragonslayer’s Peerless Regression – 246
by Hectopascal(헥토파스칼 )
Episode 246
‘The dragon that killed the dragon?’
Dragons are the single most powerful living beings in the phenomenal world.
Caesar said that this is why dragons are greatly restricted in their ability to use their power.
And one of them was that dragons and dragons cannot kill each other.
Because it was obvious that if dragons started fighting over territory like humans no living beings would be able to survive in the phenomenal world.
So I never thought that there could be a dragon that broke such an absolute oath.
‘On the contrary is that why I was able to survive until now?’
Zeke asked Jamilla again to make sure.
“The Hermit of the Black River killed another dragon?”
Jamilla was even more startled when she saw that Zeke didn’t seem that surprised. She tried to speak in a calm voice.
“Yes even before the era of the King of Heroes the Hermit of the Black River was imprisoned here.”
It meant that it had been here for over two thousand years.
Zeke said looking at Jamilla.
“Killing a dragon won’t make a difference. After all any dragon is still a dangerous being with supernatural powers compared to humans.”
Then Jamilla clicked her tongue and said.
“You didn’t understand what I was saying at all. The Hermit of the Black River is a being who violated the absolute proposition that ‘a dragon cannot kill a dragon.’ It means that if a non-party to the contract were to break the oath there is no telling what kind of repercussions would fly.”
Zeke responded in a calm voice.
“So shouldn’t I go even more? If I’m going to be the sacrifice it’s better for me to be the one who was going to kill you anyway.”
Jamilla was momentarily speechless at Zeke’s logical answer.
Yellin who was standing next to him at that time said.
“Sir Zeke I will also go down into the labyrinth with you.”
Jamilla was startled by those words.
“You you! Where are you going!”
Yellin said with a stern expression.
“It is a place where the family’s long-held grudge must be resolved so how can we send an outsider Sir Zeke there alone? I will go down with you.”

When Yellin came out like this Jamilla put her hand on her forehead and shook her head.
“Oh really… You guys can do whatever you want!”
As Jamilla made a gesture the warriors hiding throughout the palace disappeared in unison.
She told Zeke.
“Zeke Draker if you truly break the chains of the oath and release the long-cherished desire of House Ishtar you will become our benefactor.”
“Then you will not send any more assassins?”
“Yes. I swear by the law.”
“great.”
Jamilla led Zeke and Yellin into the main palace with a displeased expression.
She took them to the banquet hall and had the food brought out.
Zig felt nervous for a moment as memories of his previous meal came to mind but fortunately a light meal instead of a spicy soup was served.
‘I almost lost my energy before I even entered the labyrinth.’
Jamilla said to Zeke.
“Eat. By the way you are the first person to be invited to the main palace twice Zeke Draker.”
She glared at him as she stabbed the lotus root with a fork.
“No there was one more. The detestable Terracan Draker. That damned squire has been to the main palace twice.”
Zeke couldn’t help but feel uneasy under Jamilla’s burning eyes.
Still I ate all the food that was served anyway. After the meal the tea I had been waiting for Ishtar’s arrived.
Yellin said to Zeke who was savoring the scent of tea.
“Sir Zeke are you sure you’re okay?”
“What are you talking about?”
“The labyrinth of the main palace is… filled with monsters you’ve never seen before and bizarre golems created by dragons.”
“I guess you have bad taste.”
“It’s too dangerous to simply dismiss it as a dragon’s bad taste. If you need time to prepare….”
“It doesn’t matter. If I have to do it anyway I might as well do it quickly.”
Jamilla laughed when she heard that.
“You talk so well Draker.”
Zeke brushed her laughter aside and asked Jamilla.
“Have you ever met Arthur Draker before my lord?”
At those words Jamilla nodded slowly.
“Yeah we’ve met before.”
“What brought you together?”
Jamilla’s eyebrows quirked at Zeke’s question.
“There’s no reason for me to tell you that.”
She immediately got up from her seat and looked at Zeke and Yellin and said.
“Leave for the labyrinth tomorrow. If you fail to achieve the proper results you will be severely punished by the law!”
As Jamilla left Yellin bowed her head to Zeke.

“I’m sorry Sir Zeke. I think I’ve made things worse.”
“It’s okay don’t worry about it Yellin.”
“If there’s anything you need please let me know. I’ll prepare it.”
When Zeke heard that he seemed to think for a moment then leaned towards Yellin.
“I have a favor to ask.”
“Yes please speak.”
Zick said holding up the teacup he was drinking from.
“Could you please tell me where I can buy this car?”
“….”

The next day Zeke and Yellin stood in front of the underground cave of Ishtar’s main palace fully equipped.
Inside the room a black door was firmly shut with a strong chain wrapped around it.
Jamilla who was watching from behind crossed her arms and shouted in a sharp voice.
“Open the door to the labyrinth!”
Ishtar’s warriors who had been waiting untied the chains on the door.
Clang! Clang!
As the chains came loose the warriors pulled at them with all their might.
Kookookookookook!
The door began to open slowly.
The inside of the door was pitch black so I couldn’t see an inch ahead.
Ezugi who was standing next to Yellin said shivering.
“Hey Miss can you just not go?”
Then Yellin patted Ezgi’s head and said.
“Don’t worry too much. I’ll be back soon.”
Zeke and Yellin went straight into the door without hesitation.
Kookookookook!
As the two entered the labyrinth the door closed again.
Complete darkness fell.
At that moment a bright glow rose around Yellin’s body. Then they soon illuminated the surrounding area.
Zeke remembered seeing something similar on the Deep Sea Island.
After Poseidon regained his throne and the island returned to its original state these halos began appearing throughout the forest.
Zeke asked Yellin.
“What is this?”
Then Yellin raised her hand and gently touched the halos of light saying:
“These are the spirits of the earth.”
“The spirit of the earth. How fascinating.”
“Where they dwell the forests grow lush and full of life. High elves like myself can call upon the spirits of this land.”
Just as Nerissa a deep-sea creature could control water spirits Yellin a high elf seemed to be able to summon earth spirits.
She illuminated the path ahead as the spirit of the earth.
“This way.”
Zeke followed the path guided by Yellin into the labyrinth.

thud!
The door opened and Abel came in.
He was followed by William Siemens.
Abel’s expression was hardened and William’s face turned pale.
He walked down the hallway and stood in front of the chief’s office. An agent from the strategy headquarters blocked Abel’s path.
“The Lord said not to let anyone in.”
Abel raised his hand and waved it lightly to the side.
Then the Strategy Headquarters agent flew towards the wall as if he were a paper doll.
Kookung!
The strategic headquarters agents guarding the office looked at Abel with guard duty and tried to draw their weapons.
Abel’s eyes turned red as he looked around at them.
“The moment you pull it out you all die.”
The Strategy Headquarters agents couldn’t move due to the pressure that was squeezing their entire bodies.
As they paused Abel reached out his hand and the tightly shut door to the head of the household’s office shook.
Ddddddddd—
The office door which had been vibrating opened with a sound like it was going to burst open.
Abel went inside without hesitation.
Inside the office Ramon Siemens was sitting at his desk working on paperwork.
Even though Abel walked right up to his seat he was still signing the papers silently.
Abel said as he looked at Ramon.
“You used the trap I had prepared without even telling me.”
Ramon’s pen which was signing Abel’s words stopped for a moment.
But that was only for a moment and his pen moved again.
Abel said leaning on the desk and glaring at Ramon.
“I was the one who prepared the Pirate King’s plan. I was waiting for the perfect opportunity to catch Carly Draker but you’re using it as you please.”
Ramon still didn’t say anything.
Then Abel slammed his palm on Ramon’s desk and shouted.
“I want you to say something!”
bang!
Ramon’s desk was shattered into pieces causing all the papers Ramon had been signing to spill onto the floor.
William’s face turned pale as he watched the scene from behind.
In the Siemens family the head of the household was almost like a god.
It was unthinkable to go against his word not even from the owner of the cow William.
Ramon looked at the broken desk and the scattered papers then finally raised his head and looked at Abel.
Abel felt a chill as he met Ramon’s emotionless calm gaze.
Ramon stood up and gestured to Abel.
He went to the seat next to him sat down at the head of the table and offered Abel the seat opposite him.
Abel sat across from Ramon and William stood behind him.
Ramon opened his mouth to Abel.
“Even after being baptized you still care so much about Kali?”
Abel looked at him and said.
“That’s not what I meant. It was a trap prepared for a long time to catch Kali. But that….
“Yes. It was something I had been preparing for a long time. It was none other than me.”
Abel’s eyes widened at Ramon’s words. Ramon clasped his hands together and continued speaking.
“The baptists who infiltrated the Knights of the White Knights the bribes given to Morgan Buffon the commander of the Imperial Legion and the bait to lure in the dirty pirates were all things I prepared.”
Abel clenched his fists and trembled at Ramon’s words. When he was about to open his mouth Ramon spoke first.
“And you too Abel. You’re one of the things I worked hard to prepare.”
Abel’s eyes widened at Ramon’s words.
In an instant his eyes turned red and turned into magic eyes.
An intangible force swirled around Ramon’s body trying to pressure him.
If he had exerted even a little force Ramon’s body would have been crushed to pieces.
But Ramon said to Abel as if he didn’t care.
“Sometimes there are guys like that. They put in so much effort that they forget their duties and mistake their own positions.”
Ramon stood up from his seat.
Ramon slowly approached Abel and grabbed his shoulder seemingly oblivious to the pressure of the invisible power Abel had created.
He spoke in a dry voice that seemed completely devoid of emotion.
“Abel. I really put a lot of effort into you. That’s why you’re precious. But if you misunderstand your position it’s really a problem.”
Ramon’s hand was empty of any energy but Abel felt a strong pressure as if something huge was pressing down on him.
Ramon said to Abel.
“Whenever you feel like you’re forgetting your place Abel remember your mother.”
When the topic of his mother came up a red aura rose from Abel’s body.
Ddddddddd—
The entire office began to shake. Abel raised his head and glared at Ramon.
Ddddddddd—
A vibration stronger than before shook the room.
Abel’s eyes which had been tinted red had taken on a completely different shape.
Abel whose eyes had changed to resemble those of a reptile shouted at Ramon.
“Never again! Don’t speak of that woman!”
Kkwadduk!
The area around where Ramon was standing began to crack and countless cracks began to form around him.
But Ramon didn’t seem to feel any pressure.
Ramon said to Abel.
“If you don’t want to go back to that time remember your position and role well.”
Thud thud!
Abel gritted his teeth and got up from his seat. He suppressed his anger and left the master’s office.
William who was watching this from the side hesitated with a stern expression then tried to follow Abel.
“William.”
When Ramon called him over William turned to him with an ashen face.
“Did you call me my lord?”
“Abel is still unstable. Keep a close eye on him so he doesn’t use his power rashly.”
“Oh I understand.”
William froze greeted her stiffly and ran out in a hurry.
Ramon looked at where Abel had been sitting.
“Abel’s courage was revealed…”
He spoke in a mumbling tone.
“The time is approaching.”
He turned and waved his hand.
So the desk that had been broken earlier and the scattered papers were turned upside down and returned to their original state.
Ramon sat back down at his desk and began working on his paperwork.
